We got back from Chelan this afternoon and I'm so glad we stopped by this place before riding home! We had a group of 10 so they had to split us up but they managed to seat us right next to each other which was great. The service here is amazing and the waitresses are super friendly. Coffee is free here too! I shared the chicken country fried steak meal and that was so filling and satisfying! I also ordered a side of sausages, that was kind of greasy but still good. Our friends really enjoyed their breakfast burrito too. The food came to us in record time, I was so amazed and impressed. Overall, this place is sooo welcoming to tourists so I highly recommend stopping by this joint for breakfast, lunch or dinner, because they serve everything all day long! read more

Apple Cup is straight up adorable and was exactly what we needed after our travels from Colorado. The menu is incredibly broad and has options for all. We opted for a chicken salad sandwich and a rueben, followed up with fresh apple crisp al a mode. The chicken salad was literally some of the best I have ever had and I'm so sad I live far away and can't have that on a whim! My dining companion said the rueben was also amazing. The apple crisp was the real winner of the lunch, however. It was simply divine! If you're a tourist, do yourself a favor and enjoy some of Washington's fresh apples in either the crisp or the pie. I didn't know what to expect for a diner but not only is the server quick and straight to the point with service but I was most blown away by the COOKS!!! Ended our 3 day Valentines weekend here for breakfast. Our other favorites were closed so we thought we would give it a try. Never again. We come to Lake Chelan 2-3xs a year and I would rather eat at BC Mc Donald's (see my review to understand that comment). The skillet was less than impressive and the breakfast burrito was so bland. I wouldn't bother wasting your time or money on a place that clearly has given up and purchases the lowest quality foods they can. The only reason for 2 stars was the hostess was very polite and our server was nice and quick. Always make it a point to come to Apple Cup every time I come to Chelan. It never disappoints. I am pretty sure that all I have had here is breakfast, even for dinner. I hate having limitations, so cafes that serve breakfast all day, always have a special place in my heart! 2 meals for $22 is the cheapest we have paid for a meal in Chelan all week. Their food is great the last two times we've been, and it's great that they serve breakfast lunch and dinner all day because I was really craving some breakfast food at noon! But both times we've been, we've had some service problems! The first time we had a larger party and waited forever to get out bill, and after waiting around for about a half an hour after repeatedly asking, we just walked up to the front and they looked at us weird when they asked for our check and we replied saying we didn't get one. This last time, just two of us went and the waitress was extremely impatient when we weren't ready to order right away and came back and demanded we chose that time. So we did. She was kind to the older couple next to us (I'm guessing regulars), and she asked "how are you!?" And knowing she was talking to them, I replied "very good thank you!" And she gave me a look that she was weirded out and said "not you". I was so shocked! She was a grown woman too! The list goes on but you get the point! Such a bummer. read more

While the overall cleanliness and service could use a bit of an upgrade, the food always proves delicious, adding a flair of mom and pop diner to every meal. It was a nice morning and I wanted a little walk, but most people know that next to nothing is open in Chelan at 6:30 AM on Sunday. Then I stumbled upon Apple Cup Cafe. It's a little place and is clearly primarily for locals, unlike many of the places in town that cater to the tourists. The place was very clean and the servers knew what they were doing. Very friendly team. I ordered their Standard Breakfast which included two eggs, ham/bacon/sausage and browns/cakes. Service was fast and the food was good. The plate of cakes was simply enormous. And they played good music! If you're looking for a nice local place for breakfast, give Apple Cup Cafe a shot! read more

Stopped in for lunch on a weekend and was pretty underwhelmed. The food was okay and service was slow. (It was super busy due to a triathalon happening in town.) That said, the things that really left an impression was that our food came out at really different times and some food from our table was given to another customer. My fiancé's breakfast came out first by like 7 minutes. My chicken burger came out much later, I was not given the correct side sauce, and my fries came out almost 10 minutes after my burger came out, which was... awkward. Also, I had ordered my sauce on the side and was given the wrong one, no big deal - I asked for the correct one and all was good. But the waitress took the incorrect sauce off our table, took it back to the kitchen and then 30 seconds later gave the SAME DISH from our table to another customer. read more

As soon as you get to the Academy, Starfleet drills it into you: NEVER eat in a place with carpeting. Too many opportunities to track germs from one star system into the food products of another. Any restaurant with carpet is not a restaurant worthy of a Starfleet officer, we were told. So you can imagine my chagrin when the crew stepped into the Apple Cup Cafe, and saw the kind of carpeting responsible for more than one galactic catering war. But I put aside my prejudices, because if there's one thing they tell you about away missions to pre-warp civilizations, it's that you can't sweat the small stuff. When they food arrived, was I ever glad I disregarded regulation #8153-B (Re: Coverings/Floor/Location:Dining Establishments)! Our crew ordered an extremely varied collection of dishes: for the science officer, the "fried chicken"; for our chief engineer, the hamburger; for our first officer, buttered noodles made to his exacting specifications (NOTHING EXCEPT BUTTER AND NOODLES) and for myself, the huevos rancheros. While I was slightly disappointed that my huevos did not come with any actual rancheros (when WILL I accustom myself to the humans and their weirdly metaphorical menus?), I must admit they were unusually delicious. The tortillas were fried and crunchy, and the eggs were perfectly cooked and topped with very tasty beans and veggies. My science officer was similarly thrilled with his fried chicken, which led him to eat a rather excessive quantity of food. The chief engineer loved her burger. The biscuit we ordered, just to try a local delicacy, was wonderful. And yes, even the plain buttered noodles were perfect. The only downside to this meal is that it left us with some difficult questions. If Starfleet was wrong about the dangers of eating in a carpeted restaurant, what other regulations may be misplaced? Is it possible that pre-warp civilization MIGHT have a place in the Federation, for example? Is even the Prime Directive now suspect? These are the kinds of questions we must now ponder...ideally over a plate of Apple Cup Cafe fried chicken. read more

There was no ice in any of our drinks and they did not know how to make coffee or hot chocolate. The pancakes were cold the bacon was burnt, and our spaghetti was too sour. We love finding special little breakfast spots when traveling and Apple Cup Cafe fits the bill. Stopped in for breakfast before breaking camp and it was great. Hubby ordered their version of the "Grand Slam" and commented several times how good it was. I decided to go a little different and order the cottage cheese pancakes. It's something I make at home and was curious how a restaurant would handle them. They were served with an orange buttermilk sauce that I was hesitant about ( I do applesauce at home). But I took the chance and was not disappointed. The four pancakes were tender and the orange buttermilk sauce was the perfect compliment. Now I'm wondering if I could make the sauce at home. And the service? Fast and smooth. When we come to the area again, we WILL be back! read more

What can I say AMAZING if your in chelan this is a must have great for anytime of the day I went in @2:30pm and had the Cottage cheese pancakes and they were amazing, not like anything I've ever had! They don't taste like normal pancakes they are very dense with a subtle flavor of cream cheese I also had there fried chicken and that was really good was not greasy at all but with a thick breaded shell covering chicken that was good but lacked a little moisture. The service was good left us alone most of time and my water was always full which is good. read more

Stopped here on vacation in Chelan. We were promptly seated and our food came out quickly. The food was good, great portion sizes. It's a little hometown looking cafe and looks like it could get very crowded on a weekend. My only complaint was that our waitress wasn't very kind or helpful. She seemed annoyed when taking our orders. We then asked another waitress if they served mimosas, the waitress acted weird when we asked, almost like we didn't look old enough to drink. It was just strange, my friend and I are both 30 years old. Overall this place was great and I would definitely go back. I'm hoping the waitresses were just having a rough day. read more

In all the eight years I lived in America, and I do sample breakfasts a lot [it is my favorite food of the day] I have never had sun-dried tomatoes that taste like meat. That is what my experience with "Zorba the Greek" was. It was such a yummy, such a big breakfast, I regretted not having to stomachs for it to go in. Service was just as good, despite it being Saturday morning and [the inhabitants/tourists not having anywhere else to go - most diners appear closed over the Spring break weekend] was packed to the gills. This is a mixed review. We came in just before a small rush, were seated promptly by a friendly hostess. It took a while to be greeted by the waitress, but she was nice and took our breakfast order. Unfortunately we didn't get our drinks until after our food came. Likely a result of the rush, not a big deal. The food came out really fast. My older son got steak and eggs and said it was delicious. The steak was cooked medium as he asked. My younger son got kids French toast and hot cocoa, he was very happy. My husband had corned beef hash and eggs. Here's the bummer, the hash was cold and dry. He picked around the edges and ate the warm part, but the middle was a no-go. I wound have encouraged him to send it back but it was a long time before someone came back to check on us. I got the Mexican skillet, and it was pretty disappointing. The ground beef wasn't seasoned, nor were the potatoes. It did have salsa and sour cream that was tasty. But the potatoes were kind of raw and it has green peppers instead of red. The pancakes were light and fluffy - really good. Coffee was strong but not very tasty, there were grounds in it and it was burnt. We didn't get an offer of a refill until we were done eating anyway. They did bring a hot apple crisp with soft serve for my 13-yo birthday boy, so that took the service up a notch. It was a filling meal but we probably won't be back. read more

We visited Chelan this weekend. Not impressed with food or beer here yet. I know this is wine country, but man had higher expectations. We ate breakfast at Blueberry Hills farm and I left a 1 star review. Horrible experience. Desperate to find at least one decent place to eat in this town, we hit Apple Cup Cafe. All I can say is this place was amazing. In a total classic way, but incredible. In a world of lost service etiquette, gen z waitstaff unable to understand how to even communicate, complete dysfunctional restaurants that have lost the drive to even try, this place just kicked ass. Was a bit of a wait to be seated, which can be a good sign, but once seated we were greeted, our drink orders taken, food orders right away, and meals to table in no time. They are slammed busy and still their waitstaff is kicking butt like a great wait staff should. Good food, great portions size, reasonable pricing, incredible service. It's almost what you should expect from any eatery, but in this day and age is clearly the exception to the rule. Way to go Apple Cup Cafe. Classic Americana cafe that acts like they actually care about customers and want their business. I will gladly eat here any time I ever come to Chelan again. read more

Hands down the best pancakes I've ever had in my long life. I ordered the cottage cheese pancakes with an orange syrup sauce. Killer!

First time visit ever after a 2 night camping trip just wanted a quick sit down hot meal on a clean table: we were greeted at the entry on a crowded day and sat within 5-10mins by the awesome host extremely good attitude, tracked people down as the name came up and table was ready he also accommodated a larger table with an open booth and an additional side chair. We were greeted at the table with a poor attitude waitress. Everyone else looked like they enjoyed their job bussers were very quick with water soda coffee and all needed refills like the cream for the coffee. The waitress returned twice within 4-5mins asking if we knew what we wanted to order yet, which we barely had enough time to look at the menu and felt very rushed. The menu it self which was extensive due to bfast and lunch menu on the back. The second time she came back we were ready to order drinks. It was at least another 15 before the waitress returned and we ordered food. We were sat by the kitchen and wow those guys are hard working individuals. Massive amounts of plates on the counter ready to go out and no one there to bring them out. Waiters would come by and reach over other meals finding their table orders; definitely gave an odd vibe. The menu: Walking to the table we noticed the large sized omelette, and skillet and were very excited for the menu. Unfortunately of what we ordered The standard breakfast is a let down for the price, the minced is literally 2 eggs tiny portion highly don't recommend them for the price. Frustrating description on the standard didn't include strong punctuation and seemed as it was coming with toast, and hash browns or pancakes and it was simply toast and hash browns OR pancakes. The BOB was excellent meal to split with an additional side order of pancakes. This issue was advised at check out with our waitress and she held a smirk with no responses and continued ringing us up... pretty poor customer service for someone who paid $13 for a german sausage 2 pancakes and 2 eggs. I would return but this restaurant seems to be lacking teamwork and communication between their peers and waitstaff. A few photos on the menu may be another good idea, this restaurant could have minor changes and be really, really good. read more
