OMG why is everyone hate this Apple Store at First Colony Mall. I came here to compare Apple Watches because my Fitbit is about to go kaput. I am looking for something with recent technology. Getting here was very tricky because of the First Colony Mall's layout and there was no mall directory at the entrances. I had to use Google Maps to give me direction. Finally, I found a directory kiosk in front of Dillard's, where was the opposite of where I came from. Yikes. The employee was very knowledgeable and made me want to purchase right there. Today, I had a terrible experience at the Apple Store in First Colony Mall - Sugar Land, TX. I have been using Apple iPhones for over 10 years, upgrading from the iPhone 4 up to my current iPhone 16 Pro Max. Honestly, the phones are very durable, and I usually keep my old devices as memories. Since my mother needed it, I decided to replace the battery for my old iPhone XS Max. After doing some research, I chose to go directly to the Apple Store, believing it would be more reliable and professional. I booked an appointment today at 1:00 PM for a battery replacement. I waited quite a long time even though I had an appointment, as the store was very crowded. Later, a female staff member came to check my phone and confirmed that the only thing needed was a battery replacement. She carefully inspected my phone, asked me to remove the protective films on both the front and back, and turn off "Find My iPhone." She then took pictures of my phone and told me to return at 3:40 PM to pick it up. At 3:00 PM, I received a call from another female staff member telling me that replacing the battery might damage the screen, and if that happened, I would have to replace the screen for $329. I immediately went back to the store and told them I no longer wanted to replace the battery, because I was worried about the risk of having to pay such a high price for an old phone. She said "OK," handed my phone back very quickly, and walked away. I was still sitting at the table with the first staff member who checked my phone. When I turned it on, I saw a green vertical line on the screen. I asked her why this happened, because when I gave her the phone earlier, the screen was completely normal--and she even had the original photos to prove it. She tried to avoid the question and said she would go inside to ask. When she returned, she told me it was because my screen already had an existing defect, and that they never even opened my phone. This was dishonest. My phone was working perfectly fine until I gave it to them, and I don't know what they did that caused the damage. Then they pretended to call me about the "risk" afterward. If that risk was real, why didn't they tell me from the beginning, before taking my phone in? If they had, I would have refused the service right away, since my phone was still usable. Battery drain is not a serious issue. But they didn't say that--only after damaging my screen did they bring it up, clearly to avoid responsibility. When the manager came, she repeated the same story, refused to take responsibility, and said the only solution was for me to pay $329 for a new screen plus $89 for a battery replacement. While the issue was still unresolved, she simply walked away to do something else and never came back to talk to me. She treated me with disrespect and discrimination, just because my English is not fluent and because I am Asian. I am extremely disappointed with Apple's customer service and behavior. This was my first time ever getting an iPhone repaired, and unfortunately, it turned out to be a horrible experience. If your iPhone still works, that's fine. But if you ever have a problem, I strongly recommend that you just buy a new phone instead of coming here for a repair--so you won't have to go through what I went through. read more

It would be nice if their in person pickup actually worked smoothly and you could get in and out quickly. Instead you just go in there and get treated like any other customer and have to stand around and guess who actually works there and then wait until someone decides to help you. I'm not there to shop, I'm there to pick up my headphones and leave. Why not have a dedicated person behind a desk that just handles order pickup? It's already a waste of time and effort to have to go into the mall and this store is already a zoo... why make it worse with inefficient customer service? read more

First time bad experience at any Apple Store. The main manager lady helping customers at store was more interested in talking to co-workers than helping customers. Even after I asked her for help. She said she had to talk to coworkers and was busy. Eventually ended up getting another associate who helped. What a sad shituation. I wanted to trade in a MacBook that honestly did not get more than 1 to 2% use, so this was an upgrade to an IMac. Greeted upon entering and approaching the table of selection. I was told it would be a few minutes as it was very busy the wait was very short. I expressed what I wanted to do, then the Rep, went to work, explaining in detail, breaking down and explaining various options and the bonus was being familiar with the programs that would be used. After this the big decision was to be made, he also even the explained importance of particular up grades at the time of purchase. I appreciate the time and patience to work with me as a one one customer, it just doesn't get any better. Cant wait to unbox it that is the most exciting part. I'm not a fan of Apple Stores and could never give them more than a 3 at the absolute maximum because they are just so expensive even for little repairs. Barbie is all the way Android now even though that's getting to be about the same price to fix. But when we went in here to fix her old phone they were friendly and helpful and more painless than expected and have experienced in the past from many other Apple stores. For this reason I give them three but if they were actually affordable and fair in their pricing they might even get more. read more

This store doesn't follow store policies to help prevent gift card scams. My husband got contacted by "his boss" to grab some gift cards for client Christmas gifts. He ran to this Apple store and bought some high value cards. Then he made a second purchase of MORE high value gift cards. No one ever mentions ANYTHING to him about gift card scams. After the purchases didn't sit right with him, he called Apple support to "freeze" the gift cards. We were assured by the agent on the phone that the perpetrators were not able to get the funds off the cards and that we had to return to the Apple store and we'd get refunded. Next day, my husband drives back to this Apple store where whoever was working states that they did not have enough cash to refund him. He would have to return at the end of the day and they could give him the $ back. The manager on site asks if he was informed about gift card scams at the time of purchase, to which my husband responds "No. No one said anything to me." The manager then says that it is STORE POLICY TO TELL CUSTOMERS MAKING LARGE GIFT CARD PURCHASES ABOUT POSSIBLE SCAMS. If, I repeat IF the employees who sold my DARLING BUT STUPID AT TIMES HUSBAND about a scam, maybe he wouldn't have fallen for it!!!! I am completely disgusted that store policy wasn't followed and as a result, we are out THOUSANDS of dollars. Oh, and by the way, when my husband returned to this Apple store at the end of the day to get the refund, all the cards were wiped clean of all the cash. SOOOOO the Apple agent on the phone who said that the cards were "flagged as stolen" and that the funds were "frozen" and the $ wasn't going to be able to be taken off them is full of shit. If we knew that, we could have loaded all the cards onto our f-ing Apple account to have at least SAVED OUR MONEY: I still stand by the fact that if employees followed policy, we wouldn't have been out thousands. We dropped by the Apple Store in First Colony Mall in Sugar Land to check out the new iPads. We were primarily there to see if there were any new accessories that we couldn't live without. It's one of the smaller Apple stores that I've been to but they seemed to have all of the same inventory. The staff were, as always, ever-present but polite. They were able to answer our queries. The store was neat and tidy and I could definitely recommend dropping by if you're ready to join the cult of Apple. read more

We arrived over 20 minutes early. Get told to wait in a spot. No one comes despite a ton of employees milling about. And then, I hear an employee approaching other customers at random asking if they have been helped. She confirms they DO NOT have an appointment. So she tells them that with an appointment time, they will be met at the exact time their appointment is scheduled for. Ironically, she tells them this a minute after our scheduled appointment time. I wait, but I am very frustrated. At the 6 minute mark after our scheduled appointment time, I yell out at no one in particular that we have not been helped yet despite our scheduled appointment time. One employee (Kip) approaches me in an almost threatening manner and asks why I didnt just pull him aside if I wanted to talk to him. Well, in truth, I was speaking aloud, not to anyone in particular. He then went a lengthy explanation about how they were delayed because they were busy and most appointments take 15 minutes. Great, then why was the other employee, still helping the customers without an appointment, telling them than an appointment in advance meant being guaranteed to meet at the scheduled appointment time. And why was anyone even floating around when we had a scheduled appointment and were waiting in the spot we were told to wait in? 16 minutes after our scheduled appointment time, we were finally met by an employee, Emmanuel, who was polite and fixed our problem in less than 3 minutes. But the wait, the behavior of employees treating scheduled appointment times as mere inconveniences to them while other employees are telling customers that appointment times are precisely honored is ridiculous and unprofessional. We will be unlikely to ever return to this store. Emmanuel, on the other hand, was a model of professionalism and efficiency. read more

On 9-2-2023 I had an appointment at 10:10am for a simple easy battery replacement in my 12pro which I set up the Sunday before. I get to my appointment only to be told I have to wait 3 hours before my phone will be worked on because 4 people dropped off their phones to be repaired the previous day and their devices are priority over mine EVEN THOUGH they did not make an appointment like I did a week prior. Really? WTF? Then why make an appointment at all? ‍ So I sit at the Mall for 3 HOURS and decide to check on my phone progress at 1pm only to be told my ticket says 1:10pm so they can't even see if it is being worked on yet. ‍ WOW. OK. So I wait until 1:10pm and ask a different person if my phone is ready yet. NO. I told 2 women my appointment situation and one of them said. Well, ya know the battery has to go through diagnostic testing and that takes awhile. I said. Ummmmm I'd doesn't take 3 hours and I had an appointment at 10:10am and have been waiting for 3 hours. Well there probably was other phones to be repaired before yours. I said then what's the purpose to make an appointment. Well.... The appointment doesn't have anything to do with when your phone will be worked on. WOW OK. So I go back to the original person about my phone pick up and he said oh yes it's ready. You are in The Que to pick it up. So I stand where I was told for 15 minutes until another Apple employee asked me if I have been helped. I told him I have no idea. I gave him my ticket and he said oh. The other guy didn't even check you in. I was like WOW OK. can YOU help me please. He did and my phone was handed to me in 30 seconds. This place is a MESS!!! No respect for their customers at all in my opinion. This was the first and LAST time I will EVER have anything replaced of fixed at an Apple Store. One of the worst experience I had at first colony location. My phone is not able hold even charge for half of the day. I am absolutely having horrible experience with my iPhone 12 Pro Max at this time. Having to charge every few hours. According to your manager Omar, no exception can be made to justify the situation. I use my phone for work and having to charge every few hours makes absolutely no sense. Poor experience by apple store first time in my life. I am not sure I would ever visit apple store again. I am not even sure if I ever want to own apple product. What's the purpose of apple care? If I am Not able to resolve my issue. I could just get Asurion product that will fix my phone. I would have to pay $70 to replace the battery. While battery declined to 82%. Phone is not holding charge. Omar - store manager - absolutely has zero customer service skills. Leaders are made to make exceptions. He didn't care about the issue I was having. He wants me to wait till my battery declines to below 80%, so therefore I have continue to use phone that doesn't hold the charge. I am in tele communication industry and I have never been treated like this before in my life. I thought apple stores are known for there customer service but I was wrong. PLEASE AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COST. EVEN IF THIS IS THE NEAREST STORE NEAR YOU, AVOID THEM. Read the bad experience, they were right about this store and I should have been more cautious. To elaborate, I visited this store a week ago to have my phone checked and they told me the cellular/connectivity isn't working and to fix it, they would need to replace the back so I had to wait for the part to arrive at the store. So I waited. Today, I visited them and waited for 20 minutes until someone actually helped. They gave me a paper with a code and said it will be done in 2 hours. At the exact time they said the phone would be completed, I came in and gave them the code to scan, the person told me, "It's not done yet, please wait 5 minutes" So I waited a little more but it was taking WAY too long so I asked another person and he managed to bring my phone out just to tell me the technician wasn't able to fix it. He showed me a picture saying that the screw inside was replaced. I got my brand new sealed phone in April, and have never brought it to any technician so I was really shocked/confused because no one has opened this phone at all, it's been with me 24/24. He continued saying that the when the technician opened it, they immediately concluded that this phone cannot be fixed because the screw was replaced. First of all, the sheet they gave me earlier said that they would start fixing my phone at 4:30 (I was there at 3PM). If he said the technician wasn't able to fix it when they just opened the phone, WHY DID YOU NOT CALL OR EMAIL ME AND MADE ME WAIT ALMOST 4 HOURS FOR NOTHING? Secondly, then why the other guy told me to wait another 5 minutes+ if the phone was already determined unfixable way before that? Continue with this horrible experience, he suggested I could have the phone fixed at $499.99 which was annoying because I already paid for this phone and now I have to pay extra for a part that was somehow already there? The associate said since there's no way they could help me at the store (unless I pay), he recommended I should call Apple to fix this issue and to me, that is some bs because I was already at an Apple Store, talking to an Apple associate in-person and they want me to call Apple AGAIN? I did not waste 4 hours and gas just for you to tell me to talk to Apple. He then said I should try contacting my carrier, in which I did and they told me to visit Apple and now Apple wants me to contact my carrier. This is a very fun experience so far. Since I just want to know every possible solutions, I asked him what should I do if the carrier refers me back to Apple, and he told me pretty much nothing can be done (except paying the $499.99 or just buy a new phone that would be less frustrating than waiting for 4 hours for absolutely nothing). He then told me I could try talking to the manager so I agreed. The manager then came and just repeated exactly what the other person said to me, and though I already know nobody is going to help me unless I agree to pay the money. I tried talking to her and what I fool I was thinking these people would actually want to help. TL;DR. HORRIBLE SERVICES, HORRIBLE PLACE, THEY DO NOT WANT TO HELP YOU. Of course, we all love money so I don't blame them for being greedy. BUT AT LEAST BE SINCERE WITH THE HELP YOU PROVIDE. A few side notes. 1. I got this phone in a sealed box and NOT refurbished. This phone is completely new. This phone has never been brought to fix at anywhere because I immediately talked to Apple when the issue occured. 2. $499.99 is a lot and I was more frustrated that I would have to pay for something I didn't do. read more

Ms. Yates helped me out and she did such a wonderful job, she even took her time and was able to explain to me what everything was and guide me to make the right decision on what kind of phone I needed, not to mention she did this while still needing to go on her break but she took her time and didn't make me feel rushed at all. I agree with the first reviewer (Alex R)... this store is different from other Apple stores because of the great people. I had been waiting and waiting for the 3rd generation iPhone to come out. I reserved two phones and went there eagerly after work! I arrived and waiting about 5-10 minutes in line and then was helped by a young girl. She had problem after problem opening my new AT&T wireless account. She eventually had to leave (her shift ended) and handed me off to another guy. I was frustrated at this point because I had been SO excited about getting my first iPhone and was worried it may not happen until I went to an AT&T store. The guy who took over didn't seem so quick at first but what he lacked is 'snap' he more than made up for in perseverance!!! He worked with me for over 2 hours straight. He called AT&T 5 times (so many times the iPhone he was using died, and we had to go stand against a wall to use it while it was plugged in). He worked on the problem where others would have said "sorry, go to AT&T to get this problem resolved". I was SO impressed with him that I meant to write the manager and praise him but I forgot his name. I left the store with two new activated iPhones!!! I was so excited and so impressed by the customer service. While I was at the store for over 3 hours, I was able to observe many other employees. Everyone seemed happy and enjoyed working there. It seemed like everyone there enjoyed working there and was very knowledgeable about their products. I will always go back to this store for all my Apple product needs. :) read more

Walked in to get my mother in law an iPhone. She's switching from android to iPhone and it's been a long time coming. We walked up to an Apple employee who was standing at a table. She did not appear to be helping anyone so we approached her. She asked how she could help and we explained that we would like to look at either the iPhone 16 pro max or the iPhone 16 plus. I did not get the employees name otherwise I'd post it here, but this employee did not seem too interested in helping us decide on which iPhone would be best for my mother in law. She proceeded to say well once you figure it out I'll help and then never took our information and walked off. We waited around for 15 minutes after browsing through the phones, and finally was asked by another Apple employee if we had been helped. We told him what the previous employee had said and he seemed confused. He looked to see if we had been checked in and we told him no because according to her she didn't need to check us in, she would help once we figured out which phone we wanted. She overheard what we said and then loudly exclaimed that she has 6 other people she was helping and was very busy. We explained that we had wanted the help of an Apple employee to determine which phone would be best for my 78 year old mother in law. She seemed extremely frustrated that we didn't have that figured out on our own. Apple employees are in customer service. As someone who works in customer service I would never treat anyone like this and then lie to cover my lack of professionalism. If you're looking to go to an Apple Store please avoid this place, this is not the first time I have had unprofessional experiences here. read more

Shopping is the devil, which means the mall is Hell. The only reason I go to the mall is to buy occasion-specific dresses and for Apple purchases/fixes. Thank God the latter is relatively painless every time. The employees at the Apple Store are so helpful and courteous. In fact, they almost always go above and beyond for me. My last two visits were perfect examples of exemplary service. Visit A: iPhone X - I pre-ordered my iPhone X online. To no surprise, I had to wait a considerable amount of time in line at the store. An Apple employee serviced the line by checking in each customer. My turn arrived after about 30 minutes and an associate greeted me warmly, hyping me up for my big purchase, and ready to check me out quickly. There was a problem regarding the pick up/name on the account (more Verizon's fault than anything), but my Apple homie hooked it up and resolved the issue like a G. Visit B: Birthday Surprise iWatch - My husband b*tched for so long about wanting an iWatch, so I finally gave in and decided to surprise him for his birthday. I was able call Apple, learn about the differences between all the watches, and place my order (all within about 10 minutes). Hubby and I arrived at the Apple Store, and I slyly informed an associate of the surprise. Bruh... they were amazing. Suddenly 3 associates were involved (1 to distract husband, 2 helping me, and 1 to present the bag at the end). It was like watching an undercover operation. The husband was shocked when presented the Apple Watch upon exit. They truly came through for me, and I wouldn't expect that type of service at an Android store... I was originally told 30 min to replace my iPhone battery. I had an appointment for the battery replacement and had made sure they had it. After checking it in, they informed me they were busy, and they were, and now it was going to be an hour and a half. I came back exactly when I was told it would be ready, and was informed they needed another hour!? I can understand if I was a walk in, but this is very poor service. If they had told me up front it would take half a day I could have made arrangements to just leave it. So no, I don't recommend this location. read more

I'm in the market for a new iPad. I wanted to go to the Apple store to compare iPad models and talk with the geniuses etc. The worker outside of the store asked why I was shopping. I told him I wanted to compare iPad models. He told me that they're not letting customers in to look around anymore and that they are only letting people in who were making a purchase or picking up online orders. Mind you, I was undecided on whether I wanted to make a purchase that day, but I was leaning more towards yes. I was so turned off. I could've easily played with them at Best Buy or just looked up the specs and bought them online, but I don't live near an Apple store and have heard such great things about the Apple store experience. I dropped by to get my iPhone repaired. A small scratch on the screen made the repair $200.00. The people that make the appointments up front are very nice and engaging. The tech that worked on my phone was very knowledgeable. The only thing He assured me he was putting the name of the person on my account to pick up my phone and something happened wHen they showed up to pick my phone up they were told they couldn't as they weren't liisted to. But decided to look at new phones and rep told me my phone could not be traded in later if a repair was made. Bought IPhone SE since same as iphone11. . I finally got seen at the Genius Bar there was absolutely NO attempt of any type of troubleshooting none I was just told that it would be $799.00 plus tax and that I was better off buying a new one. This morning I called the Apple store and spoke to Josh. I explained that I was in the store Sunday and bought an Apple TV for the sole purpose of using my 46" TV as an external monitor. Since it was a hardware shortcoming with my mid-2010 Macbook Pro, I was returning the Apple TV. I explained to Josh that it would be quite inconvenient for me to walk into the mall and the store from the handicap parking by myself. On Sunday, my wife had accompanied me. I asked to check with his manager and see if he could meet me outside and take care of the return. I said I would wait outside the store across from the Barnes & Noble bookstore. Josh gladly agreed and waited for me to call once I got to the mall. I called and Josh said he would be right out. He came out to the car, took the Apple TV and my receipt, ran a credit and brought all the paperwork back to me. I took everything, shook hands with Josh, thanked him sincerely and told him they were the best. Then I drove off to get lunch. I had a nice gentlemen from Apple call and help with my issues. I received a "new" watch from Apple without having to deal with their rude personnel at the store. This was September 17. Less than a month the watch won't turn on. I want my money back. But that will never happen. read more
