This morning I called the Apple store and spoke to Josh. I explained that I was in the store Sunday and bought an Apple TV for the sole purpose of using my 46" TV as an external monitor. Since it was a hardware shortcoming with my mid-2010 Macbook Pro, I was returning the Apple TV. I explained to Josh that it would be quite inconvenient for me to walk into the mall and the store from the handicap parking by myself. On Sunday, my wife had accompanied me. I asked to check with his manager and see if he could meet me outside and take care of the return. I said I would wait outside the store across from the Barnes & Noble bookstore. Josh gladly agreed and waited for me to call once I got to the mall. I called and Josh said he would be right out. He came out to the car, took the Apple TV and my receipt, ran a credit and brought all the paperwork back to me. I took everything, shook hands with Josh, thanked him sincerely and told him they were the best. Then I drove off to get lunch. Went in for the Apple battery replacement program, I am ok with them telling me it'll take 2 weeks to get the battery in, not ok with them not calling me after 4 weeks (ended up calling them), not ok with the replaced battery bulging so badly, the screen separated from the body. And REALLY not ok with having to argue with them about a replacement within the guarantee period bc the rep isn't thorough enough to see that the replacement date is one month after the initial appt. couldn't care less that I had the receipt on my phone, kept saying he had all the info while idiotically scrolling on his iPad. Never a we're sorry this happened to you, like I don't have anything better to do than to deal with a bunch of uncaring, unsympathetic, and frankly incompetent people. Horrible customer service, my mom and little sister went to this location on Sunday the 26,asking for assistance on a lost phone threw find my iPhone or some way to locate it . When they walked up to the people who have the iPad to get you in line threw the ipad (a white lady) . I am a loyal apple fan since 90's and live the products and service. However this store is oddball. The sugar land apple store needs some serious training to their sales associates. They definitely don't meet any of the quality or customer service standards of apple. There are few good ones as well but there are more really bad one too. You can almost sense the racial profiling by some not so versed associates. Advise to management: look at the Galleria store and learn from them. I made an appointment due to static on my right airpod Pro. The Tech tested the buds and concluded that they were not working correctly.In order to replace them they had to be manufactured before October 2020. They said that I don't qualify for the free replacement program because mine were manufactured on October 2nd, 2020. Only 2 days after, that doesn't make any sense to me. I love looking and playing with highly priced toys I can't have :) Really just been looking for an iPad or if I really want one. I mean what does it do that my iPhone 5S doesn't do except easier for my eyes. My friend came in for an attachment for his iPad to be able to transfer pictures from a SD Card- luckily I did homework online and was able to teach the sales guy how to actually do it. Seems an apple problem all pics must have an 8 character name- well not all cameras do that automatically. New ones seem to. So when we put the card in a laptop- the pics were there. Renamed one with 8 characters, back to the ipad- there it is. "Well you could take a laptop with you and do that" Dude! Really? the point was to take the little thin new iPad to transfer the pics and upload them- if we had a laptop why would we take the iPad??? If I could give 0 stars I would. This Apple location had the worst worst worst customer service and staff that I've seen at an Apple Store. We walked in already having a reservation, had 1 employee acknowledge us said they'd help, but left to help 3 other people that were in after us. Manager wearing a FEDORA saw us there waiting for 2 hOURS made eye contact with us plenty of times and still didn't help until that 1 employee that helped us said something. He "checked us in" even tho we were already there still waited another 30 after that. Another lady came apologizing moved us somewhere else with someone else, that person moved us with someone else, then a girl screamed at us for what? Not our fault they have Poor service. Anyway just to find out we weren't able to get the phone. All that for something that could've been said to us if someone just did their job from the beginning. I went yesterday to swap my phone the staff was very nice and friendly, I was a walk in but they got to me very quickly they had said it would take like 30min and it look way less than that. The only thing is that they took a while to be able to get to swap my phone since they weren't able to get the serial number, since my phone was completely blacked out and it wouldn't turn back on at all. I was in the store for approximately 2 hours maybe a bit longer. read more

Ok, so I understand being busy but this is another level of bad customer service. I walk in to make an appointment and the woman who helped me make my appointment was very helpful. I wanted to get my AirPods cleaned and asked if there was anyone available to do it today and she said yes and made my appointment. She said it would be about a 30 minute wait and I said that was fine. She's the only reason this place gets any stars. About 15 minutes later, I get a text that says your appointment is set for 2:50. It was 12:30 at the time I received this message. I had time so I wasn't all that upset. Now when my appointment rolls around, that changes veryyyyyy quickly. I get to the store and it takes 15 for someone to come out from the back to check me in. Again, not upset because they were busy. Once someone comes out, they check me in, seat me, and tell me that it'll be a few minutes. Still not upset. I wait 30 minutes just for them to give me a purell wipe and sticky stuff and tell me to clean it myself. I could've done that by myself in half the time and bought, set up, and bought a case for a phone while I was at it. Worst waste of time ever. Look, I understand that it was a free service but come on. Just because it doesn't get you money right then, doesn't mean anything. Worst customer service ever and I will never be going back. Dallas apple is far better is far busier than this store and it has 100% better customer service. Do better. read more

I have gone to this Apple Store for many years with excellent service each time. In the 11 years since they opened, I have had numerous purchases, returns, and repairs done there. Having used computers since 1986, I still remember the days of taking a computer in for repair and having to wait 1-2 weeks to get it back. When the Apple Store finally opened, I was amazed at how fast they repaired things - always while I waited (with only 1 exception of waiting a day for a motherboard to be flown in). They are usually great at helping me with issues and questions; although, there were a handful of times in which the first associate needed to get another associate to better help me. I'm a long-time power user so some of my needs go beyond the standard customer so I don't mind it when they need to get a more experienced associate for help. Here are a few of the things with which this specific Apple Store has helped me over the years: (1) Many years ago, I brought in my MacBook Pro with display problems. They determined it was caused by the graphics chip which required replacing the motherboard. Even though my MacBook Pro was well out of warrantee, they did the replacement for free because the graphics chip was a known issue. Moreover, they had the motherboard flown in next day air so my MacBook Pro was fixed by 12 noon the next day which was on a Saturday! (2) I had an iPhone that developed a problem with the sound. I could only hear phone calls when I put it on speaker mode. They quickly replaced my iPhone with everything already transferred over for me! (3) The hard drive on my old MacBook Pro failed while I was in grad school. I needed to turn in a report by midnight that night so the instant I determined that my hard drive had failed, I took it to the Apple Store. I got there around 6pm without an appointment, hoping they could fix it while I waited. They were completely booked for appointments that night, but I agreed to wait in case they could get to me. They managed to fit me in, ran the tests to confirm the hard drive had failed, and replaced it very quickly. I came home, restored from my backup, and was only slightly late turning in my report (along with a picture I took at the Apple Store showing that my hard drive had failed). I received full credit for my report. (4) I bought a new MacBook Pro from the online Apple website, but after using it for awhile, I noticed an odd behavior when typing. I could not figure out what was causing it so I took it to the Apple Store. I was unable get the problem to happen while there and all their tests came up clean. So the associate ordered another identical MacBook Pro to exchange with the one I was using. She said that would rule out any possible hardware problems. I was amazed since the MacBook Pro was their fastest 15" model available with the memory and hard drive maxed out, making it very expensive. (5) I ordered a new iPad Pro 12.9" 3rd generation from the online Apple Store along with a whole bunch of accessories. After trying them out, I decided to return many of the accessories simply because I either did not like them or decided I wouldn't really use them. The return was around $600 total (keyboard, cover, pencil, wireless earpods charger, and more). When I looked up how to return them, I discovered that the return policy was for only 2 weeks, and it had already been around 30 days. So I took them all to the Apple Store, told the associate I had messed up by waiting too long, and said I might need to talk to the manager. He said there was no problem, and immediately did the return, overriding the 2 week requirement. I was thrilled! No computer store can possibly be perfect for over a decade, but this Apple Store comes very close. I cannot remember a time in which I left feeling unhelped or cheated. Instead, I am usually very happy and sometime even amazed at how quickly they were able to help me. I recommend this Apple Store very highly. read more

I was in the Apple store this past Sunday and I was waited on my Gesiye Komonibo. I was extremely impressed I with his service and patience. I brought in my iPad which was frozen and he fixed the problem almost seamlessly. I thought I was going to have to say goodbye to my iPad, and I am so glad that Gesiye was able to help me with this issue. Gesiye made me feel as if I was the only one in the store while he assisted me and I wanted to give a shout-out about the excellent service I received. My iPad now works better than ever before! Thank you from a very loyal customer. (If Gesiye can't remember which customer I was, I was there at noon and had dark hair and bangs. Came here because my ipad stopped charging. Looked up multiple solutions online and tried them on my own to no avail. Came here hoping the "Geniuses" would have something more up their sleeve. I made an appt for 8:10PM and showed up 5 mins ahead. They seated me at the bar and then proceeded to ignore me for the next 25 mins. Finally, a child in his early 20s came over and attempted to help me. He asked me how old my ipad was and I said 2 yrs, to which his reply was "wooooo....". What is this world coming to when something you purchased for $500 isn't expected to last more than 2 yrs? He then listened to my problem and proceeded to do everything that I had already tried at home. After being completely unhelpful for the first 10 minutes, he said "Your warranty is out so whatever is wrong with it, you're going to have to pay $275." He admitted to having no idea what was wrong with it. I insisted he run the diagnostics on it to see whether it was the battery or the dock connector. Turns out the battery was fine so the problem must be the connector. The "genius" did not really seem to be at all interested in my problem. In fact, his only solution was to buy a new ipad. These people are not here to fix your problem. They're just another squad of apple goons trying to push as many apple products as possible. No way I'm blowing another $500 for a machine that is only going to break in 2 yrs. Apple can suck it. read more

DO. NOT. GO. HERE. FOR. ANY. APPLE. REPAIRS. I can not stress it enough. The Genius Bar Employees here will find any reason not to fix your apple products, usually placing the blame on you and asking you to pay higher prices for replacements. I took my 6+ here for a simple cracked screen repair. After returning in an hour, I was told they could not fix the screen because some internal screws had rust indicating water damage. I would know if my phone ever got near that much water. In the end, they asked that I pay for a refurbished replacement. The next weekend, I took my cracked phone to the Highland Village location and they fixed the screen without even blinking an eye. I told them about my experience at the First Colony store and asked if they saw any other internal damage. They said we absolutely did not see anything wrong internally. The Highland Village employees are so much more friendlier and welcoming. Even though this location is less than 10 minutes from home, I make the 35 minute drive to go to the Highland Village location. read more

I visit this store whenever I go to the mall. Apple has amazing and fun products. I've bought a MacBook pro and nano specifically from this store and both buying exoeriences were great. I've gone to the genius bar twice at thisnstore for issues with my iPhone and they were both resolved. The 1st time for a freezing phone and the second time because the phone wouldn't stop vibrating. I brought my iPhone 6 Plus in because my camera was blurry. I read online there was a defect with the camera and Apple would fix it 3 years from purchase regardless of the Apple Care warranty which had just expired a month ago. The service guy was nice and even offered to update my phone. An hour and a half later another service tech tells me my phone has water damage. How is that possible? I have never had water damage on any phone. I take excellent care of my phones. He shows me a picture. I can't figure out how it got wet other than rain and I don't take it out in the rain. His offer was for me to pay $360 for another iPhone 6 Plus. Not! After I left the store, I suspected Apple of tampering with my phone. I think they couldn't fix it and didn't want to replace it so they came up with this water damage. All of sudden my phone started acting up. I couldn't hear incoming calls unless I put them on speaker, my phone wouldn't hold a charge and then it would get overheated. I didn't have any of these problems prior to going to Apple. I bought another phone but not from there. There was no way I could function with my old phone. I will NEVER go to Apple in First Colony. I love my Apple products dearly and they have yet to fail me... except my Iphone 5 has been giving me problems. I set an appointment online for the genius bar. Make sure you check in with an employee to let them know you have an appointment. After I checked in... I waited for 15 minutes. I was at a table and others seem to be waiting for something as well. I like this Apple Store location- the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. At other locations, I've had to wait extremely long times (with an appointment ) and the staff hasn't always been that friendly. But at this location I usually don't have to wait if I have an appointment, and the staff is really patient with making sure my experience is positive. The only downside is that this store is really popular so it can be a challenge getting a Genius Bar appointment within a day- you usually have to schedule two days out for availability. read more
