Took my Honda for a routine oil change as I prefer using genuine parts for maintenance. A week later, the oil light came on, so I'm concerned that something is wrong with my car or maybe oil is low. Took it to a shop and they said oil is low. It was unusual but regardless,they topped it off. Every 2 weeks, the car would require oil now. So I figured maybe its normal. For my next oil change, I happened to be in Huntington, so I took my vehicle there for the oil change. That's when they informed me that the oil pan drain plug was loose and car was leaking oil!! OMG! I'm so pissed at Apple Honda. I would have expected this from a generic shop but this was Honda. I went back and the service manager told me that it is possible you took the vehicle to another shop for another service and they tampered with the oil plug! What a joke!! Apple Honda is the only option for a Honda dealership east of Smithtown. That being said, for auto service, I recommend to avoid them at all costs, and I'm not the only one saying this. While their service advisors are kind, helpful, and thorough, their mechanics (most importantly) & management (even more alarming) are not. This leads to devious and nefarious practices. To start, I have been a Honda customer for 14 years, and bought my first car from Apple Honda. The maintenance I have had done at Apple Honda has always been routine, run of the mill stuff (oil changes, brakes, etc.) & my most recent visit was for the same. I brought my Honda Accord in for a safety check, and preventative maintenance since I'm only driving it once a week or two these days. I knew it would be a bit pricey, but want to maintain the car as there is no need to buy a new one anytime soon. So, fluids flushed, tires rotated, wheel alignment, spark plugs, $1500 later. Ok. I was advised that my front left wheel was barely gotten into alignment because the tie rod was frozen, and they didn't want to force it, because that would've caused damage. Ok. After leaving the dealership I noticed a clicking noise in my front left. So much so, that I could feel it under my feet. I call a few times, and am finally told to bring it back in. Before doing so, I brought it to a local mechanic, as I had an uneasy feeling. We drive it, and he shows me that they damaged my rack and pinion while doing the wheel alignment. Has me hold the piece while turning my wheel and I feel the clicking myself, in my hand. Armed with this information, I head straight from him to Apple Honda for my appointment. This is where things get interesting... The mechanic that worked on my car goes for a drive with me. Tells me it is coming from the right side. I'm very insistent that it's the left, and I feel it under my feet even. There is nothing on the right. Well, he tells me sounds can be deceiving and he is a Master Honda Technician. He wants to put it on the lift. Ok. I'm sitting outside while it's on the lift, see that 3 other people are with him looking at the left front wheel, not the right. Never the right. My service advisor comes out, says the sound is coming from the right & it's my sway bar. So, they didn't find this during my safety check? They then bring me to look at it and he's banging it - HARD (I asked him to stop) saying don't you hear the noise? I said no, I only hear your banging. They say they'll lubricate it. I say ok, and call the other mechanic, who says: There is nothing wrong with your sway bar! During this time I'm asked how far I want to go with this because it's going to cost me. I'm asking for a definitive diagnostic with parts and labor. I wanted something in writing. 2 1/2 hours later. I finally ask for a service manager. Charles Vassallo, Service Director, brings me to his office, and then gets the mechanic, they corner me telling me it is my responsibility, and the noise was there all along (I had driven it from Jersey City to Southampton...no noise, this only happened AFTER my service appointment). If it did exist, how come it wasn't in their notes? It said they road tested it? How come I didn't mention it when I mentioned ALL of my other concerns bringing it in? Still no mention of the rack and pinion... If they only known I had seen for myself a hour earlier that was the issue. They tried to force my tie rod during the wheel alignment and that messed up the rack and pinion. Easy fix. Just own it. Well, they stuck to saying it's the sway bar, and said for $400 they fix it - that is where the noise is coming from, if that doesn't fix it, they'll eat the $400. Then then mention that there is a "little" play in my steering rack and pinion, but that's not the noise. However, it will cost me an additional $1500. During that time, I also asked for Bill Fields, the General Manager (who rated Apple Honda on Yelp to lift their review - don't worry, I reported it) who wouldn't see me. Fed up, I finally left saying I would get a 2nd opinion. Well, here's the fraudulent part. I pull out of the dealership, and hear a BRAND NEW noise on my right side in addition to the noise from the left. I brought it straight back to the other mechanic, who in shock said they compromised my sway bar, and that hadn't been that way earlier. So, Apple Honda's mechanic manufactured an issue with my sway bar to detract from the mistake he had made with my rack and pinion. The mechanic called them himself finally, and told me they were expecting my call. Well, it's been a week & I have left several messages for: General Manager, Bill Fields, Service Director - Charles Vassallo, and Chad Bardua - Service Manager. I have not received a single call back. I am exploring different options to resolve this, but felt the public should be warned. My vehicle tire got punctured. I called side assistant put the spare on and suggested to bring the vehicle to dealership. I bring the vehicle and service department says tire is not covered under full warranty. Tire and rim has a separate warranty that was never mentioned to me. Even in a leased vehicle tire is not covered because it is a puncture. And it is service department's discretion if it was a puncture or defect. I did not have to drive my vehicle all the way to the dealership that I could have had fixed with local tire place. And my sales person is gone too. I knew I should not have come to lease my vehicle here. Last 2 times we went to Nardy Honda. I was under the impression that they will replace the tire. Word of advice -- be careful when you buy or lease from Apple Honda. read more

Keenan was courteous and knowledgeable about the Honda Pilot I took a ride in. Negotiations started for leading and all parties involved, Keenan, Bill P. and general manage who was behind the scenes, went on for sometime to get a good common ground. Wish I could rate 0 stars, I would. Horrible customer service. They are liars and unhelpful. I have a battery on my 2012 pilot that has died 3 times on me in a period of under two weeks causing me much inconvenience and Tow services. The battery was purchased and installed by Apple Honda in January of 2022. It's less than a year old. to my knowledge car batteries have a warranty of up to 3 years and after that time they are pro rated. Apple kept giving me BS stories but the car was given a clean bill of health by them the other day and they told me I'd have to pay $250.00 for a new battery!! When I argued with the service tech, he abruptly hung up on me. That Saturday following my Honda battery died again and I had to call tow services, the towing tech himself said the battery had a problem. . I decided to take my vehicle to Midas where a new battery was installed and I was told the battery was either defective or had a bad cell. Of course I had to pay being I didn't buy the original battery from Midas but now I have peace of mind and my vehicle is running fine. I am livid with Apple Honda to say the least. Bad business. I contacted this dealer about a specific car. Informed the gentleman ERIC NICHOLS, I had been in the industry and didn't want any games played. I was very clear ( this is a very dishonest industry- trust me I sold cars) I set an appointment and when we spoke I asked if he would be there. Absolutely he said. The day before I came out we spoke again and asked if he'd be there. Yes I will. He obviously knew what car I wanted. I show up and ask for him. He's not there. Nor is he a salesman. He's a business development person. Oh of course the car I wanted , also not available. Example of do anything and say anything to get you in the door. I had my sick mother come from manhattan to help me as my car had been stolen. This dealership like most of them - dirty sleazy lying. Zero integrity. Oh they charge a $995 make ready fee. Really. Another way to extract $1000 once you are there. When a dealer gets a car ready there is a guy in the back making $15 dollars an arrow with a hose. Does a quick wash and vacuum. So basic. $995. These dealerships are all the same. As for my experience here. Terrible. Lied too. Would NEVER buy a car here. I gave it 1 star only because I had to give it something in order to submit. This is the sleaziest industry going. I'm 20 plus years in the business world. I was laid off at one time so spent some time working for a few dealers. I purchased a 2022 Honda Accord sport se on 6/21/23 the day I left with the car before leaving I noticed a slice in the tire. I was told that they will owe me a "we owe" and order a new tire, fine no problem and 5 mins after leaving with the car my tire pressure light goes on. No big deal, I'll add a little air. Well when I went to the gas station to put air my two front tires had 42psi, the drivers back tire had 40psi and the passenger back tire had 65 psi. 65 psi had me completely floored because each tire should have had 33psi. After correcting the tire pressure the light wouldn't go off. How does apple Honda let that happen?! Fast forward 3 days later I decide to put my Air conditioning on and I had no air coming out of my middle vents. I call and I had to wait a week and a half for my car to be looked at because I needed to wait for an available loaner car. Well I get told that they had to put a new ac system in the car, there was also issues with the paint that needed to be corrected. I get a call 17 days after originally dropping it off on 7/5/23 saying my car is ready. I go to pick up the car and the paint work that was suppose to be done wasn't done and the tire that has the slit it in it the day I purchased the car was never changed. Now at this point I am livid now I'm yelling and have an attitude (who wouldn't at this point). I had the used car manager tell me that he "regrets selling the car to me". Well maybe if he would have done his job to make sure the car was ready to be sold there wouldn't have been any issues. Apple Honda had my car for a month to be exact. I dropped it off July 5th and picked it up august 5th. I purchased a pre-owned certified vehicle and now have to worry about issues with this car because I don't believe my car was really looked at before selling it. So it's now it's September 9th and I've owned my car 10 weeks. I've only had the car in my possession for 6 weeks apple Honda had it for the other 4 weeks. Now I'm sitting here in the lobby of service waiting because my windshield wiper fluid tank is leaking. I went to fill it and it just poured out. Oh wait I forgot to mention apple Honda sold me a car that had no wiper fluid in it ( I wonder why) Buyer be ware before coming here. All they are worried about is a sale of a vehicle. He took us to the chart and read all the fabulous perks attached to a purchase at Apple honda. Well 6 months later we are told today by Karen at Apple that they changed our agreement because they are short staffed!! Bill Fusco told us he would speak to the manager as he did tell us we would receive that service but he too said they changed it since we bought the car - never heard of anything so ridiculous!!! I love my Honda. I hate this dealership. Bear with me and this long review. When I bought my car, they passed me back and forth between three different salespeople. Then, the guy who actually closes the deal talked down to my mom and me about the packages. The whole ordeal was irritating and kind of sketchy. Whatever, I got a barely-pre-owned Honda at an awesome price. Then, I went back for my inspection, which I know I should've done at my mechanic, but I also had a recall to sort out. I added an oil change, since I was there and it was close to being due. I didn't mind waiting around for a while. About an hour later, I'm told about the things they needed to do for my car to pass inspection and it'll be a little while longer. Next, it'll be about twenty more minutes. Half an hour later, I'm told the maintenance guys forgot that I was there for the recall, and it'll be another "little while" later. I walked out of there $560 and three hours later, when I should've only been there for an hour and a half, AT MOST, and was only expecting to pay for an oil change and my inspection. The positives? The new waiting area is really nice and there are complimentary bagels, coffee, and water. The maintenance manager was pleasant. They offer to drive you somewhere for free while your car is being worked on. Calling to make the appointment was pain-free. The positives don't cancel out all the negatives, and I hope I won't ever have to go back to Apple Honda. read more

I went to apple Honda to look at a car, and I really liked it. The price was a tad bit higher than the Kelly blue book value but that was my fault for not realizing. I dealt with Joe, he was very nice and accommodating. The car even had a chip on the hood and they had it fixed free of charge. Recently I went back for my first service with them, the Sunday special package which was a pretty fair price for all that they did (Change oil, Tire rotation and new wiper blades). The car was done in less than an hour and I even got a $10 off coupon on the mail. They have a rewards program for everytime you go back to them. Definitely will be back! read more

I found a car that I wanted on a internet used car site. The price listed was $7500. I spoke to the sales rep over the phone to confirm the price and that the car had not been sold . I live over an hour away. My wife and I drove out to apple Honda. I had my plates in hand and cash in my back pocket ready to purchase a car. When I sat down with the sales rep in informed me that the car would cost $8500. $7500 plus an additional $1000 for some sort of make ready fee. Unfortunate I didn't have enough money to pay for the car with this additional fee. I understand that the dealership has to make money. I'm not faulting them that. But I did speak to the rep over the phone and we did discuss the price and I told him I would be taking cash out of the bank. It would have been professional of them to let me know about this additional $1000 make ready fee. I consider this to be an unethical business practice. read more

Took my car here b/c it broke down in Riverhead, and since i have a honda civic, thought that the dealer was the best choice. Had the mechanics take a look at the vehicle , and was later informed that i blew my head gasket, radiator needed some repairs as well as my front break pads were worn out. They gave me a price, and it was sufficient, so i had them do the repairs. i went to pick up my vehicle a week later, and when i got there, the total amount charged was not the actual amount quoted (about $100 off). they said they would look into it, and get back to me within 24 hours, and never did. every time i try to contact them, they say they are still looking into it or offer me a 'free car wash'., however i live nearly 60 miles away from there, so no point in going out there just for a car wash. I had a very poor experience at this dealership. I'm only giving two stars because I enjoyed my test drive. The salesman did not know the answer to most of my questions about the vehicle I wanted to lease (i.e. he didn't know when the 2017 Civics were coming out, it's October dude). He told me he couldn't give me an estimate of what tax/title/fees would be. Is this your first time selling a Civic? I am currently paying $299/mo on a 2 year lease for a Honda civic, he quoted me at $386/mo on a 3 year lease for the new civic. A two year lease is more expensive than a three year lease, how did you increase my payment almost 100 dollars for the same car on a longer lease term? I expect negotiations at a dealership, but when you start out with such a ridiculous figure, I can't help but feel offended that you would take me for a fool. While I would recommend Apple Honda Service center after getting my Hondas satisfactorily serviced there for years, I would certainly not recommend their used car dealership. They are the embodiment of everything we dislike about a used car salesman: someone that will tell you one thing and then change it completely within 24 hours. I was recently contacted BY THEM because they wanted to acquire a vehicle I had leased FROM THEM two years ago. I was perfectly fine with keeping my car until the end of its lease but they kept on contacting me and told me they would make it worth my time. So I did take the time to actually go there, get the car appraised and they offered me $3300 to sell them the car back before the end of my lease. When I contacted them back the next day, the cash offer was now $2000 because "they hadn't realized that I didn't own the car but the bank did".... since I leased the car FROM THEM, it was obvious to them that the car was owned to the bank to begin with.... they wasted my time. What started off as an amazing experience turned into a nightmare. To being with Michelle M. Was my sales representative and she was amazing. Very helpful, nice disposition, and great with following up. After Michelle helped me pick out a new car to lease the sales manager gave me a price quote on my approx out of pocket cost. When I came back to pick up the car the out of pocket cost (taxes and fees) had more than doubled. At this point I told the guy in financing that the deal was too expensive for me and he literally stood up and yelled at me! (Outrageous- I have never been treated like that in a car dealership) l. We were interested in a used hybrid vehicle from Apple Honda. We were shown a filthy, dirty vehicle with missing trim. We were assured the vehicle would be delivered to us in two days time "like new." We were assured that the car had blue tooth technology and that it was clean pass certified. After paying cash for the vehicle, I came to find out that the car still had a large ink stain on the back seat, a chocolate stain on the back seat headliner, the trim was STILL missing, the car was NOT clean pass certified and the blue tooth was missing. I was told to bring the car in, by the General Sales Manager, for the car to be cleaned, trim to be replaced and the blue tooth to be installed. When I brought the car in, the service department was not even aware of me and didn't have me on the appointment schedule. They did fit me in, and gave me a FILTHY loaner (sticky seats, crumbs all over the place, cigarettes and garbage in the consoles and glove compartment) that they said I might have for a day at the most. We have been REPEATEDLY lied to about the status of the repair. In trying to backpedal, they lie more. Finally, after having the loaner for over a week (longer than I drove the car I bought before I brought it in for service), we started to complain. We were met with rudeness, more lies and my husband was even cursed at by the Service Manager and told that if he kept acting like an a$$hole that "we'd get less than nothing from them." I immediately went to the dealer in person to complain. The sales manager told me that I was "lucky to even have a car to drive from them" and when I complained about the amount of gas this loaner uses compared to the hybrid that I bought for economic reasons, he thought throwing money at me was the answer. When I said that would "help" he was AGHAST that money did not solve the problem. Needless to say, I was AGAIN promised my car for today. I'm still waiting. I don't expect it, or a check, or anything else from these rude men. Do not deal with any of them, especially their incompetent, lying, service department. I went here with a flat tire and wanted to have the service department just put my spare tire that was in my trunk on for me. Instead they insisted to me that I had no spare at all, made me almost feel like I had no idea of what I was talking about. They sent me up the street to Mavis Discount Tires and told me to buy a new tire because they could not help me. Long story short, I have a spare tire in my trunk, like I told them in the beginning and instead of helping me they just did nothing to assist me. My tire was under in my trunk like most spare tires are so I am assuming they just did not look or just not want to look since they were closing soon. I just was very disappointed with my experience there, especially since it was such a small fix that would not have taken them long to fix, glad to know where not to go if I ever need help/service again. read more

I purchased a used car about 8 months ago. Had joe in sales help me with the purchase and it was a pleasure. No issues with him at all no problems with get the deal done. what problems I did have is after I bought the car my close friend said he recently bought a car from them, and the cabin air filter was not changed along with the cars air filter when he bought it. we checked mines and same thing near was changed, even though they say the cars goes through a 128-point inspection before a sale. whatever I changed them on my own contacted joe and have email proof on this matter. Fast forward a few months after that I go to do my first oil change on the car get underneath it and the underbelly splash shield is completely missing. I send an email to joe about it and do not get a response back even though my email told me he opened it. called and left voicemails no call back. I end up calling the manager over there on this matter and he goes on to tell me it was a used car so basically this is not their problem. which I do not get when the car was certified preowned when I bought it. He goes on to tell me I could bring my car in for service and have them look at it and they could give me a price to repair it which I was not going to do when the car should have come with it in the first place before the car rolled off the lot. The salespeople are nice and friendly but if you decide to stop in there and purchase a car from them I would for sure check over every little thing and make sure they actually did the full inspection on the car before signing the dotted line. read more
