Made an appointment for my dad because his iPhone 12 keeps freezing when he is trying to text, we tried simple steps at home to see if it would help & nothing worked so we decided to take the phone to representatives who are suppose to be experts and assist with these kind of issues. Well! They made things worse and we are not happy at all because they restored his phone back to factory settings to where all his information on his phone was wiped out. They did not ask to see if all his information was backed up before doing so, powered up the phone and sent him on his way. What kind of service is this?? Very unprofessional, never have we encountered a problem like this, for the most part we've always had functional apple devices...I know I've had an issue with a past phone where my screen just turned black I couldn't see what was happening on the screen and the representative did help, definitely asked if all my information was backed up before he tried to work on it but did not wipe anything off of it. I don't believe that it had to get to the extent to restore the phone where all his information was wiped. If you take in your phone to this location for technical issues please be careful or you might end up in this situation which is frustrating because we seek help due to the issues being out of our control. I've been to multiple stores, multiple times with this old Macbook Pro I own (2011). Tbh it's been a bit of a pain. After multiple repairs, when the battery of my MBP expanded, I was about ready to throw that sucker out the window. But, it was still a solid device and was about to become obsolete. So, I decided to give it one more lifeline and went to the store. Given my history with the device and the multiple repairs I've had, the technician Mario and the repair technician helped me out big time and gave me an awesome (not free, but very favorable) option. I have never been to an apple store and left upset before and I have lost and changed my phone so many times, I have lost count. But I went to this store today and tried to be patient. I had gone in two days before and was assured that when I came back in, I would be in and out, but of course the story changed when I got there and after that, even after waiting for so long, I ended up being bumped from my spot, despite the fact that I never set foot outside the store and instead of getting an apology, I was made to feel as though I was lying. It would be really extreme before I step in this store again. And it was more sad, that I came to upgrade my daughter's phone and she had to go through this. While holding my wife's apple 6 in his hand, Manager Dan sold her a series 5 apple watch. He did not care to make sure the phone would work with the watch. He rushed us through the sale at closing time and refused to set up the watch with the phone. Said we had to come back. When we got home to set it up the watch ourselves we found out the 6 is not compatible. To maintain marital bliss and keep the cost down I had to purchase an iPhone 8 to work with the watch. When calling the store to smooth things out the manager never would return our call. Two other managers said they would have Dan give us a call. Now my wife refuses to enter the store. BEWARE! DON'T GO TO THIS LOCATION. I have been an apple product user since the first ipod. I have an iMac, Iphones, iPads and other apple products in the home. I have an iPhone 6s and heard about the promotional battery replacement until the end of the year. I thought that was cool on their end since the battery life is a joke. I decided to take the phone in for a battery replacement yesterday. I was told the battery replacement won't be done until the next morning (local shops replace the battery in half an hour). I was also advised to back everything up to the cloud in case (and told unlikely) there is data loss so I did that before taking the phone into the store. I also had purchased a separate screen cover which I had applied to the phone several weeks ago to keep it looking nice. I was not advised by any representatives at the store when submitting the phone for a BATTERY replacement yesterday what would happen if they break my screen during replacement of the battery. I arrive at the store today to pick up the iphone and the representative tells me they cracked my screen and had to replace it. I say that's fine, what about my screen protector? The representative gets a manager by the name of TIM. I explain to Tim that I brought a phone in for a battery replacement, but they replaced the screen because they broke it, and now they are refusing to replace my screen protector. Tim wasn't helpful and told me they don't replace screen protectors. He even brought back my old screen protector. I said thats fine, put it on the phone the way it was when I brought it in yesterday and he refused to do that. I explained all I wanted was for my phone to be in the same condition it was in last night when I brought it in for battery replacement. I asked Tim to speak with his boss but he said he was the boss. I explained that I had to now buy a new screen protector and spend extra money and It didn't seem to concern Tim or any other nearby representatives that I had lost out on money because of their technicians not being able to properly replace a battery. I was getting upset, but decided to pay for my battery replacement and leave because nobody was being helpful. I enjoyed apple products very much. As I sat there waiting for my phone to be brought out, I was even considering buying a new laptop for new years, but after the petty way I was treated, I will NEVER BE GOING BACK to the apple store at the NORTHRIDGE mall, nor will I be buying any more apple products. I will also be calling the corporate office to file a formal complain as well as emailing the district manager. Honestly It doesn't matter much to me that i have to spend extra money on a screen protector, not the end of the world, its the principal, I bring an item in for a specific service, you break my screen with a screen protector on, I expect a new screen with a screen protector item returned. Wonderful store with employees that go above and beyond to satisfy their customers! I would like to point out that Alex after helping my wife get a new phone heard about my bad service at Topanga earlier that day and decided to book me an appointment within an hour. I told him how they diagnosed my iPhone 11 with a bad speaker reliever but refused to repair or replace it because they said it's normal wear and tear and that if I wanted to repair it it would cost me 200 plus dollars since it wouldn't be covered under my Apple care. Alex said none of that made any sense since I indeed have Apple care and indeed have a defective speaker. I was then helped by Ish who diagnosed my phone and said I do have a defective speaker just like the Topanga diagnosis and that it needs to be repaired. He set my phone up for a repair and it cost me nothing because I have Apple care. They both apologized for the bad service I got from Topanga and told me they would notify the supervisor. Once my phone was ready for pick up Alex saw me waiting for it and as soon as he was done with his customer went in the back to personally hand me my phone back and make sure everything worked perfectly so I wouldn't have to wait for someone else. This location is joke. I just came to buy an apple watch band after checking the store availability online. I got transferred to 4 different staff members. The last guy, Ben, I got assigned to was just talking to a different staff member completely ignoring me. When a different staff came to me for help, that's when he finally acknowledged me. After purchasing the band. I asked him the prices on some other accessories for iphone and ipad and I asked for price match after showing prices on walmart and best buy. I have bought many items from this location and other locations before and everytime Apple stores has done the price match if the price are from legit stores such as amazon, walmart, or best buy. However this guy says Apple store does not do price match. I went to Topanga location right after and I was able to buy with matched price without any problem. Reported to Apple customer service. Called to schedule a repair. Due to repair times, I had to reschedule. I came in the next day and tech told me an hour. Repaid took almost 2 hours and I was there passed close. Wasn't too happy about it but they made up for my lost time with a free case of my choosing. I took a Mophie battery case which retails at $80 plus tax. Set up an appointment with the "genius" bar because my iPad kept restarting on its own. The employee who assisted me tried twice to restore the device then gave up and assumed it was a hardware issue, and told me to scrap the ipad and buy a new one. I refused to buy a new one, since it was only 2 years old. Then she said okay and left to go say hi to an off duty coworker. Lo and behold, with the help of google I was able to restore my ipad at home and am writing this review on it. I will never go back to this apple store. Horrible. read more

Pros: Great manager. Really tries to help you. Lots of products on display. A good number of employees working. Also no restocking fee at all on phones. Cons: way to many people go there so the wait is ridiculous. Waiting to buy a phone on display in and out takes over an hour. In efficient system. They can be standing around and if you ask for help they will put you in a virtual line and continue to stand. I went in because I had half of the iPhone charging stick inside my phone. Literally waited almost 2 hours and got helped out but very quickly. I was told that they couldn't do anything but buy a new iPhone 6s Plus phone that would cost me $328 or go to a watch repair place that could have the tools to take it out. So much random shit on an iPod I don't need. Apps for games I will play by myself? No thanks. So I opt for the iPod Classic which is $50 less than an iPod touch and has twice the amount of memory. After I had finally made my decision I remember- WOW I have been here for about 10 minutes and NOBODY HAS SAID A WORD TO ME. Um... aren't you employees supposed to help customers? I had an appointment with the genius bar for my iphone 6 S plus. I had 3 prior calls with support that could not be resolved. I arrived at my scheduled time and was greeted right away. As soon as I sat down, Blake greeted me by name. Anyone in customer service knows this is awesome! He took down my concerns and reason for my visit. He actually listened and understood. He was very friendly and personable. Before we were finished, James was ready to help me. He was awesome too! So helpful, knowledgable and friendly. Took his time, explained everything to me and had an awesome, upbeat personality. This was a great visit, in and out in less than 30 minute, problem solved. Juan at the Genius Bar deserves a medal. My 80-year-old Japanese father-in-law bought a new MacBook Air, an upgrade from his trusty old MacBook (2007?). FIL couldn't get his email configured. Juan worked with him, showing infinite patience and creativity dealing with FIL's rusty English, general Japanese weirdness, and an old Japanese MacBook that wasn't setup in English. He treated FIL with respect (rare these days in such a youth-centered store). That is so unique. Usually shop people assume old = senile and out of touch with current technology. My FIL is no dummy--he's a retired engineer. Juan--you made my day! And I think you've guaranteed we won't be buying our Apple products anywhere but the Apple store in Northridge anymore. read more

Seems like everyone is getting a Mac these days, and I couldn't be happier. Generally the rule has been that if you meet a Mac user, you meet a fanatic who will, in the first 20 minutes after meeting you, flush out what find of computer you use and should it happen to be Windows, you're treated to a quick diatribe and an offer of salvation. I used to be that person, but these days, I feel like our work is done. It has set in motion an incredible momentum which will soon lead to a Mac in every house. Sure, maybe we just moved from 2% market share to 6% market share, but that new 4% is really crowding the space. I'm just hoping that Apple can build enough stores to keep up, because this Saturday, the store was literally overflowing with people. There were lines five and six deep. The Northridge Apple store used to be an exclusive little enclave for the "Think Different" set, but now it is both the hippest and most popular place in all of Northridge. So I can't dish out five stars because there are much better Apple stores out here and this location is too small to be able to comfortably explore the merchandise and though they may employ the equivalent of a mid-sized police force, it's still greatly understaffed. That said, I walked in knowing exactly what I wanted (24" iMac, if you're curious and/or jealous) and once my wife was able to find an employee, we had the computer in about 90 seconds. Checkout was handled through a little handheld device and the receipt was emailed. No lines at all, and the guy even wheeled out the computer and a printer to the car. It was as bloodless a transaction I could have expected. I ran into an old acquaintance who strolled in ready to switch to a Mac. I wished him well, but I had no time to chat, because just as soon as I say hello, we were out the door. You may or may not know this, but they give educational discounts here as well, applicable to just about any K-12 or college teacher or staff or college student. I should also note that you will have far fewer options for customizing your purchase than you will through the online Apple store. read more

Came in to upgrade my iPhone and because they said we weren't "an authorized account holder" we couldn't get an upgrade. We have access with the account shared with my father, we have the pin # and everything. One of the workers told us just to log on the sprint website. Then other workers told us we can't just because my father isn't present. My id clearly shows all the information, verifying we are authorized. I believe this an act of discrimination. We received poor treatment because of our clothing wearing sweats and pjs . So what if we weren't dressed up nice? Went to the same Apple Store dressed up nicer a week before and was able to get an upgrade with no question on our authorization information and no need to verify anything. read more

We bought 4 phones from T-Mobile and 1 of them has been having problems, it sends random text messages and screen goes on and off with a gray bar at the top appears, T-Mobile says it was a software problem and is still covered under a 1 year warranty, we took it to the Apple Store in northridge ca they said it has no more storage that's why it does this, we cleared everything from the phone and later on it was doing the same thin, I don't have time to go back to Apple and wait in that long line especially with my anxiety disorder so I had to spend $175 at T-Mobile to get another phone. Why don't you guys know your phones? This is ridiculous and I never had any of these issues with Samsung. read more
