I have fond memories of visiting the Apple Store at the Scottsdale Quarter over the years. I have purchased items from this location, stopped by for help, got a replacement iPhone, and more. Today, I stopped by to sell an old MacBook back for store credit and also to ask a general question about a new MacBook I just purchased recently. I appreciated the service and resolution. When my wife and I entered the Apple Store, we quickly saw an Apple associate (identified by their colored shirt). We were asked what we needed and quickly checked in and brought over to a set of display tables where we waited for an associate to wrap up with two other customer before she asked how she could help us. The associate (Michelle) quickly exchanged our old MacBook for an Apple gift card and asked us what other questions we had. Michelle referred us to the Apple Support team to answer questions about transferring music from one MacBook to another. She then introduced us to UNiDAYS and demonstrated how that would work to save us money on a MacBook, iPad, or Apple Watch. We appreciated Michelle for answering all of our questions in a short amount of time. The store is laid out well with tables with items on display with other items on the side of room. There was also a classroom at the back of the store for sessions offered throughout the day. You can learn more about the Scottsdale Quarter location at https://www.apple.com/retail/scottsdalequarter. It is open daily from 10 AM to 9 PM except for Sunday when it is open from 10 AM to 6 PM. At this specific location, they offer many different sessions including a demonstration of Apple Vision Pro. They also have their Genius Bar (for technical support) and you can shop by drop-in, order a pickup in store, or make a reservation in advance for repair. With Apple being a huge product nowadays, having a store where you could do pretty much anything you want to do regarding Apple or its devices is a must have. Apple I am livid. Had a iPhone 13 Pro as well SEVERAL in the past all the way down to the original iPhone. Always have been happy... even bought for other family members and encouraged others to buy them.... TILL my upgrade to an iPhone 16 Pro... to which NEVER has been able to be backed up. I have gone to Apple stores and they (multiple workers) were ALL stumpt. As almost nothing on the phone... to include deleting all pictures, texts, a majority of apps and turning off back-up options etc. and this iPhone 16 Pro still WONT BACK UP! I Have downloaded all available updates. My 13 Pro had hundreds of messages, photos/videos, has SEVERAL more apps etc.... And NECER HAD AN ISSUE... and yes I have even deleted the 13 PRO from my iCloud in attempt to resolve... and still can't get this 16 PRO to update. The 16 Pro, Has always had under 800MB at the most when attempted to back-up... when 5KB is supposed to be available without having to pay more to upgrade to more storage (iCloud+). Workers and Leads at store says only Support over the phone can help... so I reached out to them. When speaking with a lead she seems work off a directional trouble shooting chart without any regard to common sense, specific circumstantial reasoning or reasonable customer service resolution. As if it does work for the chart then they can't (in really they just won't) take care of anything or take any accountability with their thousand plus dollar product. It's like they are tell me "Oh well, skip rocks"! Apple continues to say only two options are: 1. Manage Apps and Storage on phone ... even though it has been made clear there is a ridiculous amount of available space that should be able to be backed-up. Going even as far to Deleting almost everything and turning off back ups on apps have not even worked either. 2. I pay for more storage by paying for iCloud+... even though what I have in my phone doesn't even make a dent in what I should already have without having to pay former storage!!! They are refusing to escalate this any further and say those are the only two options... well really only one because we have already attempted everything when it comes to managing storage and apps by deleting /turning of back-up options to them. read more

I needed to get an ipad looked at and made an appointment with their Genius Bar for the next day. I came in here on a weekday afternoon and not as packed as on a weekend and we were immediately greeted by someone in red who helped us get checked in. We then moved to the back of the store and sat at one of the tables and Austin quickly came to help. He was able to run diagnostics on the ipad and also reset it but the screen never did turn on. He let me know that the issue isn't a software problem but more a hardware issue and since the ipad is an older model, he just suggested that for the cost of repair, might just be better off buying a new one. And while we couldn't get our ipad fixed, which was a bummer, I have to say I left the store feeling like the Apple store staff really tried their best to help! They were pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable. I'd definitely come back again if I needed to get one of my Apple devices serviced! Very poorly run store. Took a 93 year old friend, 2:30 appointment. At 3 had to chase someone down. Stools with no backs.

They are PHENOMENAL..... at being useless! I came in with a broken Iphone 16 that wouldn't charge or turn on. They had me charge it (somehow turned on but stayed at 1% and eventually died again). They had told me it was because I didn't update my phone and needed to buy more storage. I bought more storage then my phone died, and was told it was broken. But, I could get a new one! Except! There is no iPhone 16 available in, wait for it, ALL OF ARIZONA! Wow! How's that? So I was given a shoddy Iphone 14 as a loaner phone. It was given to me on 1%, and I left without a case as well as a new charger. My iPhone 16 had a different charging port so I am now left with a dead phone and have to buy a new charger, only to maybe receive a new iPhone 16 in a few days. Also! It came with no service, so I had to take it to T Mobile as well! And! Nothing on the phone works or is backed up. The audacity is lowkey inspiring. read more

Well went here on my birthday night before dinner as my wife wanted to gift me an Apple ultra watch. As we entered, not very quickly addressed. Had to wait for someone to check in. Got till the payment checkout with the product in front of us and then the store manager asked the salesman to cancel the transaction since they don't honor price match from COSTCO stating that since customer pays membership to get discounted price at COSTCO even when the option on the menu sais 'Other' as an options for the sales person. The first employee taking my name had no value. They claim they are trained to multi task, but they are unable to help several people at once. Eventually I left realizing I would not be helped any time soon. The store is very chaotic and no real plan for helping costumers. On June 28, I went to the Apple Store to buy a new laptop. I told the staff that I wasn't tech-savvy and wanted to start fresh. I needed real guidance to make the right decision and avoid past mistakes. Instead, I got Rudy, who acted like helping me was an inconvenience. He barely answered my questions, gave vague, uninterested responses, and offered zero effort in helping me understand my options, despite me explaining that I was starting a new work from home job and needed help choosing the right device. It honestly felt like I was bothering him just by asking for basic information. But what really pushed me over the edge was that he gave me completely wrong instructions on how to wipe my old laptop. When I got home, I realized I couldn't reset it properly, which delayed my ability to sell it. I left the store frustrated, disappointed, and without the help I came for. Based on this experience, I don't think Rudy should be in a customer-facing role. I won't be returning to this location, and I'll think twice before trusting Apple employees for any kind of tech advice in the future. read more

What a contrast for today's visit compared to the previous one. I was there at opening time and the staff was so welcoming, They were even clapping to the customers walking in. I first met with Beau, who was absolutely delightful so helpful and wanted nothing but the best to help me with my technical issue with my new iPhone. He made meeting with the genius bar, so efficient where I met Sam who was an absolute delight and so patient and professional.. kudos to all of you for such a vast improvement in customer service over my previous visits. I purchased online and opted to pick up at this store. I didn't realize you were not allowed to walk around the store without a salesperson at your shoulder pressuring you with up sales and add ons. Once my order was identified I was told to stand by a certain table where other customers were being "helped" only to be redirected if you're not in arm's reach of the detention table. We spent hours at this store to end up not getting the help that they said they could give. We originally went in to get charger base and headphones, one of the employees said that I could trade in my phone and switch carriers. I was Verizon and switching to AT&T, only because they have coverage in the area that we live, while Verizon does not. He said they could absolutely do that and handed us off to another girl, she then started the process and ran into problems getting me through the process, she also must not have listened because I had to correct her and say I specifically said AT&T not T-Mobile, so she ran through it all pin and all other things that needed to be entered. It didn't work so the we went to another person he was able to get us to the point where I needed my Apple password that didn't work so he explained I needed to wait an hour but that when we came back to the store in an hour we would be able to pick up my phone and other items all bagged up. Well we got back to the store and they didn't have the order at all and another woman was going to start the process all over again. The manager came to talk to us and by this time my frustration was incredibly high and I didn't want to go through entering all the information again. So we left and went to AT&T where I got the help I needed and I also got way more money for my trade in. I just wish that they would have told us upfront that this would be difficult to switch they had all kinds of excuses by the time the manager got to us and it was clear that different employees had different stories about what had happened. This review is for the service department. My iPhone screen suddenly turned black flashing the Apple icon. Note my phone was a little over one year old. I searched online to try and fix it myself. I did managed to get it working temporarily. I brought it into the Scottsdale Apple Store and the service department said that I had a faulty part in my phone. They ran diagnostics and said they did not have the part there but I could go to the Apple Store in Chandler to turn my phone in and get it fixed. I did purchase a new $1700 phone ( latest model) in Scottsdale. They would not accept my old phone for the $400 credit until I drove to Chandler to get the part replaced on my old phone. I was in the Scottsdale store for 2 hours. I drove to the Chandler store and was told by their service department it would take about 3 hours before they could get to my phone. I waited and was then told there was water damage and I would have to pay the $100 ( deductible for the insurance) since it was not fixable and I would have to pick up the phone from an Apple Store so I could return my new and sell back my old phone. My replacement for my old phone arrived a few days later. I'm doing all this so I can sell my phone back to them which makes zero sense! Imagine most people aren't as fortunate as me to be able to pay for a new phone. I go into the Apple Store in Scottsdale and patiently wait my turn. I tell my "Genius" worker what was going on and he tells me to "hurry up" he has 3 other people waiting and that I'm talking in circles and hurry up and swipe my card already. He actually said just hurry up and swipe your card. I was so upset I will never buy another Apple product ever. All the time I wasted going back and forth and their service department telling me it was fixable to saying it wasn't , Ordering me a replacement phone that took me days to get ( when they said I would only have to wait a hour to get it fixed) and telling me to hurry up he has people waiting. Then supervisor Eddie and Bryan were rude then tried to get an excuse, saying target would do the same exact thing. After I asked then if they are saying that their service was as good. Just had such an awful experience at this location. I was the first one to walk in right at opening. I had a few simple and quick questions to ask about my Apple Watch and the manager Jess was quick to push off my questions, and walk away from me. Then when I was left to figure things out on my own I still had a question lingering and when I approached her she in a very obnoxious tone said she was too busy to help me and that everyone else was busy. I called the store phone 480-627-5501, 12-27-2024, ~ 6PM to discuss me purchasing thousands of dollars of Apple equipment; Mac Studio, Apple Studio monitor & more. I wanted to verify the Apple Store would price match, as long as the discount was not exceeding 10%, from the listed prices from Apple authorized retailer's. I spoke with a very friendly, helpful woman who said her name was "Conn." She found my information in the Apple database based on my phone number & Apple ID & she knew I had recently purchased an iPhone 15 ProMax. I went over each item, in detail, including the Mac Studio M2 Max with the upgrade to 1 TB SSD and the exact studio monitor I wanted, as well as a couple of other items. We went over the individual prices, the total, including tax. She said no problem with the price matches & agreed with my total out the door price. I said: "So, I just need to walk in, give my name and they should have all this equipment ready and then I just pay (and I mentioned the total we had agreed on) and she said yes! I asked her where do I park, since in the past all the street parking was marked no parking or occupied. She said she didn't know since she was in Texas! I drove to the store and the area was extremely crowded and it took me over 45 minutes to find parking, since the one parking garage I found was full. I walked into the store and to the pick up sign. After about 5 minutes an Apple employee walked over to me. I explained and she said there would be no record of my order! So, apparently, my long conversation with the Apple store (remote) telephone employee was a complete waste of my time! She directed me to another table and soon another Apple employee came over, soon joined by a 3rd Apple employee. As I explained the situation, I became aware that I was starting all over again from scratch. No apology for the horrible Apple telephone rep misinformation. Since I had wasted so much time to get here, I started from my paper list, assuming there was going to be an argument over price matching. But, it never even got that far since the very 1st item I mentioned... Mac studio M2 Max with the upgrade to 1 TB... I was told they don't carry that in store! That is an online only order item. All they have is the base unit with only half that SSD capacity! It was obvious they could not care less that a repeat customer was wanting to spend thousands of dollars at their store, right now. Miguel was so extremely helpful. Give this man a promotion! I wanted to see options for my phone since the battery is draining very fast and wasn't looking to spend $1000 on a new one. Miguel was able to recognize I was in a bit of a hurry and able to lay out about 4 different options for me and letting me know how I can getting something done without waiting hours to get it taken care of at the store. Spent $400+ on an Apple Watch plus our grand plus for a iPhone every two years, not to mention the iPad a few months ago. I stopped in for help with my watch. Genius Bar appointments for broken products used to be so pleasant, and now they are frustrating and handled by rude, seemingly disgruntled employees who wander around aimlessly unable to organize scheduled time slots. Yes, if you don't have the forethought to make an appointment ahead- you will have a wait- sometimes, a very long wait! So I recommend making an appointment online or from your app! Then, it's a quick breeze- I was helped by Austin today! He woke up my husband's sleeping phone and did diagnostics to check the health of the phone!! Silly hubby had let it fall behind on updates so it shut down. We updated the software while there- and it's in perfect working order!! Thanks Austin!! I've been lucky enough because of the time of day I go to get waited on within minutes. I frequent first thing in the a.m. when the store opens or I go 1/2 hour before closing.
