First visit ever and it was on a Friday during December. It was super busy. But a worker approached me within 2 minutes of walking in, asked how he could help me. I needed a tech person and I was forwarded to another employee that told me 17 people were in front of me and asked if I wanted to wait;could be an hour. I agreed and she told me where to sit and maybe 15/20 minutes later a gentleman came over and 6 minutes later I was done/out. Went in with a phone issue that began after a software upgrade - the battery charges fine and no other physical issues. Well after being told they could upgrade me, guaranteed trade in and well yes you have to pay off the phone with verizon to do the upgrade and that includes all lines on the account - found out no we won't honor the trade. Sorry you're out $270 and have a nice day. They lied about the verizon requirements, guaranteed a trade in value they wouldn't honor and now I'm stuck with a phone they won't fix because it's cheaper to buy a new phone and $0 in trade in credit. After a long conversation with verizon they're helping to offset the costs and I would NEVER go back here again. Trust your carrier, not Apple! read more

Help can be hit or miss. I did get my issue resolved, however I was also given misinformation about the use of low power mode. In paraphrase I was told it was not good to use while charging (false). Told that it can affect the battery (false). Who knows what else was wrong that I was told. He was arrogant and made coworkers (plural) wait to ask questions while he spewed political beliefs (he needs to look up Dunning Kruger effect). He clearly liked to hear himself talk. Their software and products DO NOT work as advertised. Recalling Yelp always wants to know about "ambiance", this store is crowded and inexplicably noisy. Perhaps it is designed to defeat customer's ability to think clearly to spend money and make Apple purchases(?). I was having some serious issues with both my MacBook Air and my IPhone 16. I had an appointment a couple weeks ago, the gentleman couldn't help me, my Apple account always hacked and I needed to come back 24 hours later in order to reset my password. I live 2 hours from the Apple Somerset location in Troy, MI. Driving back the following day wasn't an option for me. I put my phone on lockdown mode and kept it off for, basically a week and a half. Needless to say I went in yesterday without an appointment and a technician named, Matt was able to help me right away. He made the process quick and painless. I very much appreciate it! I bit the bullet (or the apple) and bought a new phone, which will second best most likely in a few months when the 15 comes out. But hey, I'm up to date for now. They gave me a very small trade in deal, much like when selling your car to a dealer. However any amount helps and I don't need two phones. (Actually I still have my 6s hiding somewhere in my house.) I made a Thursday 1:0 appointment and it was crowded in there. I still had to wait bc I made it under the wrong category. I was actually just going in to buy a battery replacement, but I ended up with a new phone instead. Alex the Genius was extremely helpful. I kept my ATT carrier plan because I was grandfathered into a great teacher deal plan. I'm happy with this phone. I only had to pay the tax upon purchase. ATT will be billing me over time. I got the pretty blue color, but no one will notice once I buy a new, larger phone case. read more

I broke my phone recently and drove an hour to Somerset to get a replacement phone. unfortunately they did not have my make and model in store. I worked with a young lady name Rachel ! who was AMAZING VERY KIND AND EMPATHETIC. Rachel made sure i walked out of the store with a functioning phone and i am so grateful, . I was able to give apple 800+ dollars to hold until i could get a new one shipped and returned to them and Rachel was collaborated with a few people on her team to make sure I had what i needed. I've been here multiple times and it is always hit or miss. I feel that if you look anything like you under the age of 45, they don't care who you are, they are very much unwilling to help despite asking multiple times for the same request. Most people are nice but overall not synchronized. Some people are great and others are just kinda snotty. If you look rich and look over the age of 45, you will be helped. Otherwise would recommend online or a different store. read more

I asked my son to take my phone there for service, I am no longer able to charge it using the cable so I depend on the wireless charger, which is inconvenient. The first appointment, he was told they were '15 minutes behind', so he had to cancel due to another commitment, scheduled another appointment the next day only to wait for nothing for 30 minutes after being told 'you're next in line'. After multiple visits to this store and over $150 spent on useless cables, I was finally able to get some help from an associate at Best Buy. The accessory I needed, was a $9 3.5mm to Lightning Adapter not the $35 lightning to 3.5mm cable the I was sold multiple of - despite the fact that they didn't work. Now I realize this is a nuanced problem to a non-technical person, but that's why my company previously spent $1.5m+ annually with Apple. For access to technical, compassionate, and knowledgeable sales people. A sad and unfortunate waste of my time and money that I hope was precipitated by incompetence and not malice. He even flipped a trash can outside of the store The employees and security responded professionally and calmly as this "man" cussed and tried to belittle them. Took a long time to get to me. Gave me false info on the ability to have the clock app play music as an alarm (said it could no longer be done - stuck with the noises) but with google help later at home I was eventually able to get it to work. As to the thousands of songs on my iPhone 8 in my music - was told only those that were actually purchased via iTunes will transfer over. The others - added to iTunes mostly or entirely by ripping or playing a cd through the iTunes app - could not be transferred. Told I cannot find out the cost or approximate cost of a iPhone battery. I have to physically go into the store and have phone analyzed. I already did this and it's only the batter. Times are a bit tough right now, but we had a very good experience today at Apple. When we got to the store we asked about the wait time. They told us it would be an hour or we could make an appointment for after July 4th, but we decided to get in line anyway and try. They took our temperature and we were put in one of four or five lines. Within a few minutes a gentleman came and asked us how we could be helped. This was very nice since standing in line for an hour simply to ask a question would be a big waste of time. He was very informative about our issue, then we decided we wanted to look at a product inside. He took down our information and told us we would be seen in ten minutes and put us in another line. Once in the second line a friendly woman came over and asked us how we could be helped. Since the store was at its limit, she brought the products out to us and started helping us outside the store. Once we were able to enter, she brought us directly in the store to finish our visit. We were very impressed with how friendly, efficient, effective, and organized the Apple system was for the customer. We were able to conclude our visit within a reasonable amount of time and left happy. We have yet to have a bad experience at Apple (today or anytime we have visited since we have a few or their products). Their customer service and stellar, and have been able to resolve our issues quickly over the years we have purchased items from them. We have been both walk in customers and used their genius bar over the last several years. We look forward to the time we will be able to enter and test their products at will and take their courses they offer to customers once again. read more

I was 100% terrified of going in here the other day. If you've ever walked by an Apple Store and saw the amount of people inside you'd feel the same way. But I ordered a new Apple Watch for pick up and simply did that because I didn't want it delivered and sitting on my porch all day. I scheduled a pickup online from 5pm-5:15pm and I was even more scared because it was after work. But when I arrived I went straight to the pick up station and was helped immediately. Bought an iPhone 14 Pro Max at Somerset Mall. Had to get it repaired three times, and despite the flawless condition with no visible damage, they claimed water damage was my fault. Service representative lied to me at least twice within 5 minutes today. I came in asking about the replacement program for Macbook keyboards. My keyboard types double letters with single presses of the keyboard on certain keys. The representative ran a test which was her typing a sentence a few time on my keyboard. I saw double letters being typed multiple times onscreen right before my eyes. The representative then proceeded to lie and say that the issue didn't exhibit itself. She also lied about there not being a class action lawsuit against Apple for the keyboards. This is readily available knowledge. The representative then said my computer was too old to be replaced under the program. I'm not sure whether this last statement was a lie as well but I certainly have my doubts given her lying to me twice within 5 minutes. Will go to another location. read more

My iPhone bricked a few days ago after the new iOS 13 update, I called Apple and they said phone was still under factory warranty, which was good for me. Once at the store, Josh helped me pretty quick. At the end of day I walked out with a brand new iPhone replacement free of charge. Honestly, it felt pretty nice. Honestly, I wish I can leave zero stars after the experience I just had the Apple store in Somerset mall. Horrible service. I bought my phone a month ago from Apple direct and it obviously has a software issue. They tried several times to fix the issue and couldn't and would not do a warranty swap on my phone. It has absolutely no physical damage or water damage. Before they used to be very customer friendly and offer the best customer service. Used to give absolutely no hassle about any Apple product. They have completely lost that customer service portion of their company. They don't care about their customers anymore. AppleCare is BS. It's more like Apple don't care.
