Went to the store to upgrade my Mac. I was having issues with it since it was too old for the operating system to update. Made an appointment, checked right in. Doug was with me right away. Told him what I was looking for. He did explain how an iPad would be an alternative. After looking at both, I still decided to go with the MacBook Air. Doug took his time, made sure all my files, photos, etc were secure. Turned in my old Mac for a nice credit. I was there slightly over an hour. Doug did a great job. A week ago My wife purchased a new iMac Pro. Since she is a teacher we were able to get the teacher/student promotion which included a pair of iPods or for $90 a pair of iPod Pros. Since I didn't have the Pros she gave them to me as a gift. Unfortunately after a week of trying to make them work they just didn't stay in my ears. None of the included tips worked. So I contacted the Apple text help service and they let me know since it was within the grace period I could go to my local store and exchange them for store credit toward another product. This was perfect since I wanted to pick up the Apple Watch. When I arrived to the store I waited in line and then was told since I knew what I wanted to get and that it was an exchange they could help me right away. I was then told at the point of checkout that since they were part of a deal they could be returned and I could not get store credit for them. I was told by the rep to try and sell the maybe to a family member or someone. Honestly I just found it insulting. The product was in perfect condition with all original inserts, cables, and interchangeable tips. I wasn't asking for a refund. Just to give them back stock and purchase another product. The credit wouldn't have even covered the watch and I was fine with that. After I was told they couldn't take the product back I wasn't even offered the option to just buy the watch, which I would have done. After this experience I went to another store near by and after being told if I knew what I wanted they could help me right away, I was then told I would have to wait over 2 hours before they could sell me the watch. There were 6 people with iPads waiting to check people in but none of them could sell me the watch. The sales individual also let me know that if I had better things to do I can just go home and order it online for free. I really believe in supporting local stores since they create jobs in my area. That is why I go to the stores. I have an Apple Card, iPhone, iPad, MacBook and iMac. I know I can order these things online but I try to support local retail. In the past I have always had great experiences but on two separate occasions I was extremely disappointed in Apple to the point of questioning purchases I make from them. read more

There are so many employees that I finally figured out why these iPhones cost $750-$1200. The workers are helpful but the prices here are outrageous for phone cases to head phones to speakers. I had a phone that fell in the toilet and their tech used his tiny flashlight and told me that I needed to buy a new phone at about $800. So I went to Sam at the middle Kiosk at Sommerset Mall and he replied he could fix it for $120. I then took my phone to Boost mobile and the guy there fixed it for $20. Apple Store is a total hustle! Unfriendly security staff/stooge at entrance. You cannot go into store just to browse products without being accompanied by an associate as I have done many times in the past, Security and clerks acted like they were the FBI. Apple sells bad quality expensive. Warranty and customer service is unknown to the brand. They have no service waiting area. They don't even see you on certain days. My partner wanted to spoil himself for his birthday so we decided to come here and get an iPad to update the old iPad 2... I know... Anyway, we got here at 11:10 (10 minutes after they opened) and there was a long line already, we thought we were being smart getting here so early to avoid the crazy line but nope... They have very oddly formed lines one for repairs, one for appointments at Genius Bar, one for future purchases, multiple people talk to you asking what you're doing here, what you need to do here, what do you want to buy, etc... They take your temperature and put you in single file lines which are not 6 feet apart yet the stickers they have you stand on say 6 feet (we measured using our iPhone app "measure" and its only 4'10). You're pretty closely packed with people. After waiting about 35 minutes another guy came up and took our information and again asked if we knew what we were buying and we did as we researched online to make sure they even had it in stock before we came here - we gave him the specs and he went and brought it out for us, we didn't even have to enter the store! It looked like about 5-10 people max were inside the store at any given time. We wanted to see cases/screen protectors for the iPad as well but they didn't have the screen protectors and he brought out the 2 cases he offered in 2 different colors and even though we decided against them it was awesome of him to bring everything out so we could get out of the line quicker although it would've been nice if that happened 35 minutes ago when we first got there. All in all expect to wait in a long line crammed next to others - mask required and temperature taken. Maybe next time ask if you can purchase right there without waiting in line or having to wait in line, they can probably bring it out to you. If not just buy online, probably easier for everybody. And lastly, we are very happy with our new iPad purchase. read more

So my brand new phone took a crap last weekend. I don't really know what happened but I went from texting one min to a black screen with lines the next. I came to the Apple Store on Saturday afternoon knowing it would be insanely busy! I was correct, holy moly people. However the employees were super friendly and took my info and let me know it would be a 45 min wait. I played with a mac book while I waited so no biggie. The young man who helped me, I wish I remembered his name was awesome. He was new but smart and knew when to ask for help. They needed up replacing my phone and all of my essentials were transferred over easily! Thanks Apple! read more

I was impressed with the organization and efficiency of the lines by security while under the pandemic, however, I was not happy with the customer service I was given by the Apple IT employee. My personal iPhone had become bricked (stuck on the white startup screen), and in talking with Apple Support via my work phone, they scheduled an appointment for me at this store. The day before my appointment, I received a call from this store confirming my appointment and outlining instructions to prepare me. I arrived 10 minutes early and once at the front of the line, I was asked for a QR code. I didn't have access to the supposed QR code sent to me since my phone was bricked. When taken to the IT counter, the guy searched for my appointment in his system and first refused to take me because they could not find my appointment in their system. I tried to show him the voicemail confirming my appointment and the Apple Support message on my work phone and he continued to be rude with me until he gave up and took my phone to fix it. I should not have been treated so rudely for a scheduling error that was not my fault. I'm sure people try to walk in without appointments but he refused to even look at the non-QR code proof that I had confirming my appointment. read more

A rare visit to the Apple store, I discovered my battery was on it's last legs and heard that Apple is replacing this at the low cost of $29.99 before December 31st (it then goes up to $79.99 apparently). Made an appointment via their apple.com website (you need to use your AppleID and password). Got there at the appointed time (well 10 minutes earlier actually) - of the Apple T-short wearing employees checked me in and inside of 10 minutes they ran a diagnostic and gave me an initial estimate of 2 to 3 hours - which got revised to 1 hour once the diagnostic completed (I had backed it up, installed the latest IOS and also saved my pictures elsewhere, plus turned off the Find MyPhone - so I guess I shaved those extra 2 hours off of the estimate!). Came back after doing a little shopping (the lines are long at almost all stores during this time of the year), and it was ready and working as expected. No wonder it is always busy :) read more

Apple support has been terrible on all levels I've been able to reach (calls, in store). My first experience with Apple was in October 2017 when I finally had enough issues with my battery to make an appointment and go to the store to resolve. My reservation was confirmed via Genius Bar reservation call line and reference number provided. When I arrived for my appointment there staff member said they had a power outage and didn't see my reservation and it'd be a 2 hour wait (with 3 & 1 year old in tote). I tried to provide my reservation number and I was told they could do nothing with that number and it's for the call only. I paid $83 for a new battery and moved on. Strike 1 - made me wait with 2 kids after i did the correct thing and made an appointment Strike 2 - Immediately after having battery replaced I was back at Apple the same week because my home key did not work and I couldn't access my phone or use it. Apple technician said I needed a new hard drive for $136. I asked if they'd politely look to see if they hit something changing the battery and my hard drive was damaged during the repair (never having an issue with stick keys prior to Apple opening my phone). Tech said it wasn't Apples fault and I purchased a new hard drive. So that's $220 in one week (phone is paid off and I don't any to buy a new one). Strike 3 - phone still sucked after Apple changed the Hard drive, but new issue with apps freezing and unexpectedly closing. Also, deleted messages reappear after being deleted. I called the help line and they suggested updating my phone (it was updated) and the next line of help I needed to be at a desktop computer to walk through steps. I was fed up trying to get help and postponed getting help (got past holidays busy season onsite). Strike 4 - called Saturday 3/3 to make a reservation and have my phone looked at and they couldn't get a Genius Bar appointment until his week. I said it was good enough and I've been inconvenienced for 4months and spent $220 to fix problems that still Persist. I asked to be directly contacted to the store to help. I was transferred and tried to explain my situation to the manager and asked if they could make room to get me in same day and was told no again and I'd have to wait 2 hours. I explained I have a 3&1 year old hat I was going to control (said "fucking" control in frustration) and was told not to cuss and I tried to apologize immediately and got hung up on... not ok because I cussed I get it, but I didn't cuss at the store manager and immediately tried to say sorry. Strike 5 - went to the store 3/3 (with kids going crazy) and I explained the whole situation and frustration above to the manager and she looked at me and said my phone (iphone6) was to old and I need to get a new one. I explained I paid to have a problem fixed in October/November and it wasn't fixed. The manager told me the tech would look at my phone but I'd still have to pay for repairs. I disagreed and asked why I'd pay again when hey didn't fix the problem and again was reminded that the phones don't last forever and I'd still have to pay. Strike 6 - I asked why my battery was $83 and now it's $23 and she said I could get $60 back and Apple reduced the cost as a good deed to customers. Went to get the new Mac Book Pro. Waited for about 30 mins as I was "next in line". A couple walk in and got service right away for a Mac book. I went to Apple representative and ask him why they got service before me while I was till waiting. He told me he would get me next after them. I told him that was not necessary as I told him I was going to leave. I asked him for his name (they didn't wear name tags) so I could report the poor service but he replied "That's something you don't need to worry about". I wouldn't shop here again and would recommend getting your product elsewhere. read more

If you've ever been to the apple store, you know how busy this place always is, but let me tell you they got a good system in place. On the left side of the door, there is a line for anyone who is shopping. The line on the right side of the door is for online pickup. I placed an order online for pickup and chose a specific time to pick my order up. The employee at the head of the line scans the QR code that you receive in your email, and they check your ID. Once you are checked in, they send you to the order pick-up table. We didn't even wait 5 minutes, and they brought out my order and emailed me the receipt. They are very fast and efficient here. They are requiring face masks to enter, so if you don't have one, they will provide one for you. They are also practicing social distancing. They have bottles of hand sanitizer on each table as well. I love the apple store! All the employees are very helpful and get you in and out efficiently. Apple products are the best!! read more

Apple store is not what it used to be in terms of client service. I was in the store and was told that if I order the screen protector, it would get applied to my iPhone when I would get it picked up at the window.Today, I went to pick it up only to be told that they will not do that because "she is not allowed to even touch my phone" (all the while doing everything without gloves and giving me the box which she has touched - no consistency between what is done and what is told). It took me about 2 months to finally get an appointment at an apple store. I had an appointment to get my screen repaired (it is cracked pretty bad). After arriving a few hours early I decided to do a little shopping while I waited. After shopping I still had an hour to wait around for my appointment. When I went to check in, I was told they wouldn't be able to repair my phone that day and that "half of the staff didn't show up that day". I was told I could leave my phone there overnight or come back the next day. Mind you it's a 45 minute drive to this location and very inconvenient to come back for a second time! Very unhappy. Bought the large iMac last year for Christmas and this year it's the iPad Pro with the stylus, which runs about $130, the 10.5" iPad Pro was around $899. Service is always top notch and we have always been greeted at the door even when it's super busy and it's always buzzing every day of the week. I love my iProducts but I cringe going to the Apple Store to ask questions because it is always crowded and fairly noisy. We have made appointments and when we show up we have to get in line to sign in the same as if we had no appointment. So I stopped making appointments. Also, we tried to meet with someone on their business team and expected we would meet in a quiet area away from the crowds. But our "appointment" was done on stools at their Genius Bar elbow to elbow with everyone else. Once we got someone to help us they were knowledgeable and able to resolve our issues quickly. Called Apple Help, After asking for help to reset my Imac to Factory Setting, I had a functional computer, after speaking to a Service rep, the rep told me to change some of the setting in the disk utility, I did as instructed, But whatever what was done, i ended up without a operationing system and no one in Apple could fix it, So I ended up with NO working computer at all! No offer to mail it for repair, they told me to take it to a store where someone else could try to fix it. reallY? I didn't get why so anyways they talked me into it but I wanted to pay it completely off and they said ok that's fine. And told me to get accessories as well. So I put 800$ towards the 1200$ phone and was told I can pay it off the next month. I called to do it the next month and they told me I was on a payment plan. And the 800$ was never put towards my phone. I have tried to get my money back. But it was a waste. I am visually impaired so maybe that's how they got me. Worse store ever. Apple has gone down hill. Made the apps slow. Bad customer support. Avoid this store. Very rude management. The store employees aren't very helpful when you make appointments. Products bought from apple usually get around 3 stars. I purchased a charging case about 6 months but it stopped working. The case was a battery pack case which cost $115. Cases from apple that cost that much money shouldn't stop working after a couple of months. Would give zero stars but that's not possible. Appointment for 5:10pm, was not seen until almost 6:00pm. There was no prescreening to find out why i was there to see a genius, which seems quite illogical. If you schedule a 10 minute appointment for each person, and one person takes 5 minutes, while another takes 35, it seems that there would be a runover in appointments that would make them all late. My screen was cracked, which I've seen apple stores just replace for free - apparently according to the manager though that is now not the case. It is a $30 repair, even with the extended warranty. I wasn't upset about the $30. That's a small cost in comparison to the phone itself, but I was upset that we had to wait more than 40 minutes to even be seen. Apple should not be scheduling appointments that they cannot keep. It is extremely disrespectful to the customers. I was in from out of town visiting family - and every minute of that family time counts. To have a total of an hour and a half (that's how long we were there) used to fix something that would take only a few minutes if a proper system was in place is ridiculous. As a note - I have had a repair previously in the giant manhattan apple store. I had an appointment and was seen within 5 minutes and out the door in 15 minutes. That is the manhattan store - one of the crazy busiest stores out there. How is it that they could handle their appointments and respect their customers but Somerset Mall Apple Store can't keep up? I went to the Apple Store, and begun updating useless apps (as I was told), and waited an hour for the woman to come back and finally look at my Mac, just for her to delete and re-download Final cut, after which I waited some more for her to come and fiddle and further destroy my computer. The employees of this store are really condescending, impatient, and difficult to work with. I drove an hour to the store to have my iPhone fixed and they refused to look at it because it had "signs of distress" aka a scratch on the side. Even after I told them I had AppleCare for another year and asked to speak to the manager, I got nothing useful out of them. I drove back home, CALLED AppleCare, they apologized for the treatment I received in the store and switched out my phone for a new one, no problem. The iPads were bought for some ill conceived project that went bust just like the company. (Turns out the company was run by idiots.) So anyway, I bought one of these satanic devices created by Apple. If you know anything about Apple, their operating systems are updated in a manner that only allows the latest update. If you don't want all the "features" (like location tracking, user data analytics, or any other crap that spies on you) in a particular update, well it's just too bad. Because of the aforementioned issues, my iPad has the original I-OS, (I just used a hipster term, and I through up little in my mouth, yuck). The Internet browser on my iPad has trouble with YouTube, so I thought the Apple "genius" idiots could help. Of course not. They insisted that I had to run their diagnostic software at the "genius bar". So this means I have to make an appointment even though there was like six customers in the store. After the whole appointment load of crap, the "genius" says "I have to start by resetting your iPad". Big mistake, as you might have guessed (and I should have known) all my settings and bookmarks were lost and it still did not fix the problem. After all of this, the "genius" says "If you had the old I-OS you could just use the built in Youtube viewer". I explained that I have the old I-OS, that is why I can't load the YouTube app. "Oh, I guess I didn't notice, try the built in YouTube viewer", he says. Of course it works perfectly. At this point I am wondering who is the bigger idiot, because I forgot about the built in YouTube viewer myself. The good news is that there was no cost for their "service", I finally got all my settings back to how want them after fussing with the iPad for about two hours at home. The genius did install some apps without asking that I didn't want and can't get rid of however, (stupid fascist). The only reason that I gave three stars is because they actually try to have customer service. Most companies have completely thrown that to the wind. read more
