My wife and I started to have significant battery problems with our cell phones right after we downloaded the latest IOS 12. Yesterday we went to the Apple store in Corte Madera to get our problem resolved. We were assigned Rachel and Bella to help us. After we explained the problem to them they outright refused to acknowledge that there could be a phone battery problem associated with downloading the IOS 12 (please note that later on we found out that millions of people have had this problem). When we insisted that both of us had this problem right after the download and we have heard the same complain from many other folks, including our family and friends they started to ridicule us and very arrogantly told us that your batteries are two year old and it is time to buy new batteries. Later or per my request the manger (Mick or Nick) came. He was equally rude and arrogant and had no intention of listening or helping us (just like the other two of his employees). All he wanted was to sell us new batteries for the phone. After yesterday's experience my wife or I will not go back to the Apple store in Corte Madera and to the extent possible we will support Apples's competitors. If we do have to go to an Apple store, we would rather drive a few miles and go to the Apple store in SF to save us the agony of dealing with these rude, arrogant crooks who do not know the basics of good customer service. read more

I've since been back to this Apple store for various technical issues, and have found them quite helpful if you make an appointment with the genius bar. (Sign up on line, but don't explain why in the optional notes section or it will crash your appointment sign up--it did so more than once.) Okay, upgrade to three stars. I needed a bigger hard drive, as I ran out of room. Made an appointment at the genius bar, which I arrived for on time, and they were ready for me. Met a friend who works there and expedited, but I think they were definitely able to accommodate me at the time stated. My genius was pretty smart, and not very snotty. Unfortunately, they still wouldn't give me what I wanted. Why in hell won't you put in larger hard drives, Apple? What's up with that? So, I bought an external for the time being, parsed my options with the boy genius, upgraded to iTunes match and got all my stuff up on the cloud (which deserves its own review, so I'll refrain, but if I can just say, if I need wi fi to listen to my music, I think I'd rather have it on the drive, thanks anyway for the "help"). I schlepped the extra drive around for a week and then realized it was like having to put on an artificial leg to go to the refrigerator, contacted them for an authorized service provider and got a 500GB hard drive installed overnight for a very reasonable price. Luckily, I had my iPad! I also want to shout out to the Apple store in Boston, who fixed my kid's iPhone free after she dropped it in the toilet. Compassionate service from one of the most successful companies in the world. Cool. read more

Went to this store yesterday trying to return a 30 pin to lightning cable adapter simply because it didn't work with the aftermarket audio setup in my car, this old woman employee almost wouldn't let me return it, she kept hassling me and giving me a hard time about how it should work and how I'm not using it properly, I had to keep interrupting her telling her it's because I have an aftermarket setup so instead I bought a third party 30 pin to aux adapter, then she proceeded on to telling me how such an accessory is obsolete and unnesecary, really? Even after multiple times of letting her know I didn't care about her opinion and just want to return the item (politely) she kept saying she doesn't care about my situation either then went on to hassle me for another 5 minutes, this store should really look into its employees before they're on the floor harassing customers over a simple return! read more

I bought a MAC here awhile back and bought the $99 yearly service/help contract with it. Seriously felt that I had struck gold with that....The issue is that the classes are ALWAYS sold out, the place is super loud and busy (great for them but not for me or other class attendees). After several attempts at getting into the classes and not being able to, I have given up. I hate my MAC (I know there are legions of folks who love theirs) and I hate this store. Their service is appalling and everyone there is scrambling to buy the latest, greatest Apple product/drink the Apple Kool Aid which I frankly do not. Sorry but as soon as I can I'm going back to the old PC which costs less and I don't have to deal with such attitude. And no help!!!? Who needs it? read more

Two hours ago I wanted an appt to come in to their store and get a new battery for my phone. A very frustrating 2 hrs. Might as well chase a shadow. Horrible experience just trying to get an appt. It did not recognize my ID again and again and then when it did it wouldn't allow me to make an appt, which the phone tells me it's the only way to get an appt is via the net. Horrible. I tried for 2 solid stressful hours. Techey should not write programs that the non techey has to deal with. I am completely ready to change from an Apple product, if I only knew one that does a better job dealing with customers. read more

Corte Maderia is a great store. It's clean and the staff friendly. Only problem is the Apple brand 15 minute limit.

Let's talk specifics. Yeah, it busy, packed, little wait time to kill, but REN makes it all worth it. He's awesome! I had a stand by appointment and he had my computer in his hands about 20 minutes after I came in. He was quick and easy to understand (cause I am sooooo not a techie) and even offered to help me carry the computer back out to my car when he finished. I mean, can we say C-U-S-T-O-M-E-R S-E-R-V-I-C-E????!!!!!. I wish more places hired people who seemed to enjoy doing their job!!!! So the store, yeah, whatever, but REN gets 5 stars! read more

Inconsistent poor service time after time. Last night, one rep did a good job of helping me with the product. But I was undecided. I was choosing between one he said was available, which I had confirmed on line, and another that I would have to wait weeks for delivery. He had to leave. Then I choose the one available but could not find anyone after that to help me and after 5+ minutes of walking around holding what I wanted in my hand I got someone to help me. She was unpleasant, snotty and said the item was not in the store. I left, again disappointed. Next morning I went to order it on line and again Apple says it is in the Corte Madera store. The young untrained people that this store hires do not understand service. I've spend many thousands here I have not had a good experience. Knowing Apple though, they tend not to care about their customers. They didn't get to be a trillion dollar company by spending time making people who walk into their stores feel good. I went to the Apple Store today for a sort of complicated order process where I had to buy for iPhone 6s and link them to the same new Verizon account. Other Apple stores that I have been to would often delegate more complicated task to a corporate 800-number, or simply just say that it is not possible. But this Apple Store, with Logan, Van, and Gianni in particular, was extremely helpful. The aforementioned employees were extremely professional and accommodating to all of my requests as a customer, and the transactions could not have been smoother. I truly appreciate their expertise, and they saved me a lot of time had I gone about this purchase a different route. I will continue to pass by three different Apple stores on my way to this one, because the excellent service is definitely worth it. read more

Terrible service. I was there to buy an i pad mini. I walked in at 4:30 and was happy to not see the store mobbed. There were a lot of employees in their blue shirts walking around. I walked in and approached the person who happened to check people in. He had walked by me a minute before. I was looking at the ipad minis, and this salesperson (an older woman with stringy dirty blond hair) says so you want to compare them in this low voice I barely heard. No, Hello, I am so and so. I understand you'd like some help. I had no confidence in this low key sneaky salesperson who doesn't even know the basics of sales. I walked out. Best run Apple store I encounter in my travels. Staff is expert, responsive, proficient, and most courteous, particularly considering how busy this store can get. There is a real commitment to "problem solving" so you leave confident that your need has been fulfilled. Staff works very well together and they are not shy about asking one another for special assistance if something new and difficult is before them. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment in advance because this gem of a store can be very very busy. read more

UPDATE: I'm changing my initial negative review (below) because after registering a complaint with the manager, Jeanne, I got both an apology and an ipod case. Jeanne was definitely concerned about addressing the problem and following up with Apple. My recommendation for anyone dealing with this store is if at first you don't succeed, try someone else. Probably the worst Apple store I've ever personally encountered. My less-than-a-year-old Macbook has gotten that weird cracked case at the edge of the keyboard thing three times now. On the last two occasions, I used the SF store and Walnut Creek, but this time, Corte Madera was the only one with an appointment in the reasonably near future. I read online about the frequency of this problem and about the California lemon laws, which specify that the manufacturer should replace the defective product on the third time the same thing breaks in a year. So I figure I'm good, right? Ren--a real jerk, so if you must go to this Apple store, ask for anyone else--told me that my computer breaking into pieces "wasn't a major repair" and that even though my computer would be out of its one-year warranty in 35 days, he wouldn't replace the computer. I replied that this seemed like a bit of a scam, since this part would--of course--break again in three months, as it has been doing regularly for the last year, and this meant I would have to spend $250 on AppleCare to make sure that it kept getting repaired for what is obviously some endemic design flaw. Then he started shouting about how he wasn't asking me to buy anything. Well, moron, if you're saying you won't continue to replace the defective part without AppleCare, and the warranty expires soon, what else do you think I'll have to do? His supervisor sat next to him nodding, as if this was a reasonable response. He told me that things that I read online (on about two dozen different pages) were just unreliable anecdotes that people were using to smear Apple. Um, okay, *cough* delusional. I asked for the AppleCare number as I left, and after a pleasant 10-minute phone conversation with Justin at customer support, I was told that I could get a replacement because this computer has needed four repairs (including a logicboard!) in the course of a single year. Gee! Imagine that. Customer service. He also mentioned--contra Ren--that the cracking laptops were an issue that was coming up a lot and Apple would continue to repair them after the one-year warranty expiration for that reason, even though they would replace mine at no cost. I used to love Apple stores, but it seems like I've gotten bad service in all of them lately. Walnut Creek seems a little better than most, but still, I can't believe how rude some of these Genius Bar people can be. I don't know what this guy's problem was at the Corte Madera store, but if you can't deal with customers, you probably shouldn't be working customer service. read more

However, once I got to Collin, he was patient, helpful, kind, clear in his explanations and helped me get a needed repair for my macbookpro without charge. I was having difficulties with my "old school" Apple 4s. Couldn't get my e-mail, or texts. Walked in to the store, was met at the door by a young man who asked me my problem, called a young lady over and she fixed it in two minutes! Very impressed with the immediate attention, and their expertise. As a very senior citizen (I was born when pay-phone calls were a nickel) I really appreciated the service. Every single charger that I used on my iPhone 6 was giving me a hard time. I had to adjust it and leave it at the right angle, I knew it wasn't the charger because I tried various charging cables and they all worked once I would move them around. I took it here and it was a simple cleaning to my charging port, FREE, I wish I could've gotten both of the guys names, but thank you! Now my charger locks in place and no more of that annoying adjusting, again I could not be happier! read more

Always packed but sales staff are very helpful but I have noticed they are a little bit condescending to those who are not as adept as they at computers. I have been a "PC" my whole life and I have built and upgraded my own so I know computers but I had a few simple questions which the sales representative haughtily answered in a quick jerky fashion. But aside from a few of these annoyance the staff is very knowledgable and eager to help. Prices are high, but that is on par with every other Apple store. read more

I went in recently because my phone was not linking with my sim card. I couldn't even call 911 if I needed to! It was tragic, I know. Kim was a rockstar, and was as helpful as she could be. She tried to reset the phone, and even contacted my cell phone service to see if there was an issue on that end. She called her manager Josh over to assist in calling my service. He lacked major people skills. When he asked if there were any issues with the phone, I initially clarified that I knew it was at least not a bill issue. His immediate come back (in a sassy tone) was "I didn't say it was a bill issue." I was just clarifying it was not a lack of payment on my part, and he automatically assumed I was attacking him. I've worked in customer service for thirteen years, this is not how you handle a customer, especially someone who was not causing a problem. I understand everyone gets flustered towards the holidays, but again, that is not how you handle a customer, ever. Kim, you're awesome, thanks for all YOUR help. read more

I visited this apple store this past weekend to have them check out my Iphone 5S, they fixed my phone at no charge and replaced my battery at the same time cause it had a crack in the side of the battery casing. The greeter was very freindly, genious bar was very freindly and helpful, they explained everything to me and let me watch as they were disassembling my phone. Very pleased with the service they provide at this branch. read more

Horrible customer service, very rude! The woman actually sighed & rolled her eyes at me when I was asking her a question. I was so tempted to return the iPad and get my hard earned money back. If I didn't have my young daughter with me, I would have asked for the manager, filed a formal complaint against the very rude employee and given her a piece of my mind. I ended up just walking out without getting my issue resolved. Went over to Verizon instead & they were more than happy to assist me. Avoid this Apple Store at all costs and go to one in San Francisco! The WORST customer service experience ever! The store manager phoned me about a repair that was not fully completed. She promised to reimburse the total cost of the repair and have the repair completed. I had the repair completed, but the promised reimbursement was not honored. My phone calls were not returned, and I had to go through Apple Support to finally get a response and eventually the promised reimbursement. Am disappointed in the store's management. The store's floor staff is fine, although appointment times are rarely honored. read more

I have a mac book pro - don't get me wrong, I really like the computer, but the keyboard is flimsy, and the space bar starts to warp to the point it wont work. On previous visits to a different apple store, they would replace the entire keyboard. It's a good fix for a few months. I went to this location for the same issue. I explained the problem to the guy at the genius bar and I asked to just drop off the computer as I was in a hurry and needed to leave. He took off the space bar and bent it back into shape. I said I was not satisfied with his repair attempt, since that had been tried before. I again told him I was in a hurry and I wanted to leave the computer. He said he would be right back and took my computer into the back room. After 15 min, I flagged the check in girl (orange shirt) and asked her to help me since I needed to leave. She asked who was helping me, I said I didnt get his name, She then told me she didn't know what she could do for me if I didnt know the name of the guy. I told her my name, and that he was in the back with my mac book. she said she would look into it and turned away. 15 more min later with no sign of the guy helping me, I asked orange shirt girl for help again and told her i was REALLY late now and please help. She went into the back room for 10 min, came back and said they are fixing it, it will be a bit longer; I said again how late i was, and i wanted to just leave the computer - she walked away w/o even saying anything! Finally the guy came out and showed me my computer - with the same space bar key, half ass bent back into shape. I said this is unacceptable, what happens when it breaks again, he said then you make another appt and come see us again. I said, every other time, my computer was actually repaired with new parts. He shrugged his shoulders and said nothing. I will never go back to this location, nor would I ever wish my experience on anyone else! read more
