I've been wanting an Apple Watch for sometime now. I was super into my Fitbit and seeing that it wouldn't sync with the Apple Watch, I therefore held off purchasing one. Apple would be smart to work with Fitbit! I got myself a new Fitbit for Xmas and realized trying to compete with everyone in these daily challenges was a bit too much, so I decided to return it. Now I was open for the Apple Watch, I mean only I really care about my daily activity. I've done quite a bit of research the last few weeks so when I pulled up to the Apple Store this evening, I knew that I'd be leaving with the Watch. It's been awhile since I've been into an Apple Store and purchased anything, as my company usually takes care of that for me. I was greeted by 3 very nice people; I definitely wasn't mobbed by a gang of crazy sales people. Justin helped me this evening and was ever so nice and definitely knew that I'd done my research. He let me look at both sizes and try them both on as well. He showed me different types of wrist bands and others that I could purchase in the future. He also explained the different between the original, series 1 and series 2. After my research and speaking with him, I'm finally a proud owner of a series 1 rose gold Apple Watch. I'm a very happy customer! The vibe in this store is nice, everyone seems truly excited to be working here. I even arrived 7:45pm, the mall was closing at 9 and all of the employees were still smiling. I'm in sales myself so I appreciate when someone knows their product. Overall, I'm pleased with my new Watch, it was easy to set up, I'm aware of the different accessories that I can purchase in the future and know that the Apple Store is the best place to buy any sort of Apple device. Picked up my iPhone yesterday. I had a reservation and still expected the worst. At 4pm, the line was about an hour long, but it was well staffed by Apple employees, very organized and the insanity I did expect was non existent. The employees interacted with us in line, super friendly. I understand a good deal of them had been there since 9pm the following evening...and they still had smiles? Wow. They even fed us in line...snacks and pizza. WORST APPLE STORE SERVICE. I sent my laptop in for repair and was told I'd get it back 3-5 days. So on the 5th day, I call and ask if my laptop is in the store. The guy tells me that there's no repair on it because they found water damage in it, which my insurance doesn't cover, so it's now $755 (without tax)...I'm angry and disappointed. It's not their fault for the water damage, but if I didn't call, they wouldn't have told me and I would've just been waiting...for nothing...But either way, okay. Cool. I tell him I decline the repair and want them to send the laptop back to the store without a repair because NO WAY AM I PAYING $755 FOR JUST FIXING MY MOUSE TRACKPAD. He tells me he'll send it back ASAP and it should take 2 days...TWO DAYS LATER, I call. The laptop is STILL at the repair store because nothing was inputed into the machine saying to send it back...I CALLED ALREADY AND HE SAID HE'S GONNA SEND IT. BRO...SO NOW, I'm still laptopless a WEEK later and I'm still stuck with another "We'll send it in ASAP, and it should take about 2 days. We will call you." Apple is ridiculously expensive to begin with, but the repairing is even worse. You can't fix it anywhere else, and you have to pay $ that's practically another device but just for a repair. If you do buy an Apple project, buy the expensive insurance or don't buy any at all. The cheapest insurance gets you nothing. read more

Does *anyone* else (besides me) want to see a beat down b/w the employees here at Apple vs the employees at Abercrombie. Apple employees, much like Abercrombie employees, think they pretty much know EVERYTHING about anything. They both have attitudes (one thinking they're too hot/good looking and the other thinking they're too smart for the rest of us). It's like the nerds vs the mean girls at school. I've been to this location a few times. You can't really expect unscheduled help here if you have an issue with your apple device. You must go online to book an appointment. I typically cringe when I walk into the store b/c it's a bunch of 'brainy' people, all wearing matching shirts, wearing some weird apple device badge around their necks and standing around in weird cliques talking to each other. I don't get that warm and fuzzy feeling I should get if I'm about ready to make a big ol' freaking purchase at a store. If you have an apple product that has ANY type of water damage, forget about bringing your damaged device here (I tried recently and they aren't much help). They will without a doubt turn you away. My experience here as an actual in-store customer was surprisingly pleasant. I admit, prior to being here in person, I was a bit hesitant to bring my phone to the people at the Genius Bar. I guess the main reason why is because I have been reading many mixed reviews about how the employees at the Apple store treat their customers. And I really did not want to have my time wasted by people who are being unprofessional about their job. But after months of putting it off and dealing with my phone's poor screen quality, I finally decided to make a trip to my nearest Apple store. Since the Apple store is always busy, I knew I had to make a reservation as early as possible. A week before I made the drive to the Apple store, I scheduled my appointment to be at 11:20 on a Friday morning. Fast forward to today, I arrived at the mall around 10:30 and decided to browse through some other stores before walking into the Apple store. Around 11:02, I came back to check in for my appointment. One of the floor members gladly took me in right away even though I was about 3 minutes early to checking in for the early bird check-in time slots... if that even makes sense, haha. As soon as that floor member brought me to the Genius Bar area, I was assisted by another floor member who took care of my situation on the spot. By that time, it wasn't even 11:20 yet! When that happened, I did feel a little better about being there because it seemed like the staff did care about getting everything resolved immediately. The guy who looked over my phone was prompt about taking care of the problem. He went over all of the usual stuff with me after he was notified about my issue with my phone, and assured me that he and his team can fix my phone on-site too. After everything else that needed to be talked about was taken care of, it was already 11:30. The guy told me to come back around 1:00, and so I did that. The whole repair service only took about a half an hour. When I was given my phone back, everything looked better than before. Honestly, knowing that they didn't have to send my phone to another location made me feel relieved because I definitely did not want to make another trip back and forth just to deal with my problematic iPhone. Overall, knowing what to expect beforehand did help out with my in-store Apple experience. I'm glad the UTC Apple team was able to fix it on the same day as my visit, and I don't really have anything negative to say about my time here today. :-) read more

Ok, this review is NOT about Apple Products, but the customer service rep. HAN the grey haired, with mustache middle-aged male who wore glasses. I have also worked in retail and understand how demanding customers can be. But have never sent customers to a competitor. If this HAN individual continues his RUDE and INSENSITIVE customer service attitude, Apple will loose this loyal customer. So let me start off with the problem, my daughter's IPHONE6 had a cracked screen, we went in to talk to a technician to get a replacement, so YAY, HAN came to the rescue so we thought... like any customer, I want to be informed on available options, since HAN didn't mention and reluctant to help, so I pried, and he said the iPhone 6s has a better screen, I asked, can we get that as a replacement? He said no. I said but you just said the IPHONE6 screen is defective, why can't I get the 6s screen, I am going to pay for it any? HAN seemed annoyed by now and said, WELL Maybe you Should GO BUY a Samsung. Really?! APPLE your employee want to send your customer to your competitor? This is the type of service we receive for paying $600-700 for a mobile device? And another $100 for screen replacement!! For now, I will not let one bad Apple ruin my experience. I had an appointment today but went to the wrong location (my fault). The apple store at UTC couldn't help me when I asked to purchase a new display. Instead, the guy checking me into the store told me that he "HIGHLY" recommends me purchasing a new laptop instead of a new display ($2800 instead of $600 would be the difference in cost). I told him it was my teenage son who keeps dropping the laptop but he continued to insist that I just buy a new laptop along with an expensive warrantee program. I told him no, then he said it would be 3 hours to see a technician. They don't want to make repairs easy. They just want to up-sell you and make the it inconvenient for anything else. read more

The 'geniuses", and there were plenty of them around, some helpful, others too involved in playing around on the computers and not actually helping costumers. Ehh, whatever, I came in for a purpose and accomplished it! I needed my iPhone replaced, no appointment... I was seen right away anyways. Yay! Luck, I know! Do not come here without an appointment or already purchasing your item for p/u. Why... this place is crazy busy and very overwhelming. They have tons of staff, but just the atmosphere can give you anxiety! Do your research online and pre-purchase for pick up if possible or schedule an appointment if you have questions. Why? It'll save you the time! It's great if you want to see the products in person, but most likely there will be some other people looking at the same products as you... so if you can look it up online. Pay for it online... do all you can online before coming in. I just purchased my IPhone 6 plus online for in store purchase and it was so easy and time saving I loved my experience! I ordered it mid day and an hour later I got an email confirmation stating it was ready for pickup. I arrived around 6 and it was busy as usual (probably moreso since it was the week before Christmas) and found an available staff and told them of my order. She went to the back, got my phone and should be 2 things on it and said since I had backed up my phone at home prior to coming in to just back up my old data when I got home. Easy breezy! I have dealt with many different Apple stores over the years -- buying myself and my family a wealth of iPhones, laptops, desk tops, iPods, iPads, and a ton of accessories. This particular store, nearest to where I live right now, specializes in poor service, snickering in your face, and not caring how they communicate. I am sick to death of many businesses, especially this one, blaming their poor attitudes and outright rude behaviors on COVID19. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is struggling now. I was in a bank recently when an older woman came in to surrender her large collection of coins (as there is a national shortage) and she dropped them. The staff was helpful, friendly, and while helping her, assured her how grateful they were for her coins. I have long detested the Apple "genius" attitudes (often a spirited topic of discussion at my dinner parties) but the new "buy it our way or get lost" attitude at UTC Apple is horrid. Kinda disappointed how they handled my situation. Went in to get my iPhone 13 checked for an error message saying a camera on the phone is not a genuine Apple product. My camera was acting weird and the settings were off. We were helped by Brooke, she was very friendly and explained everything properly. She informed me there have been problems with the cameras on these phones. Therefore my phone could not be fixed within the store and would need to be sent out and I would use a loaner phone for the mean time. I agreed and would need to go to my courier for the eSIM card in order to make calls/sent texts. Went to my courier (T-mobile), the gentleman there told me if I activated the loaner phone I'd lose my apple care. Decided to go back and just get my phone back. I informed the girl at the door what I was told about losing the Apple care, she gave me an attitude about it and went to talk to a manager. A gentleman with glasses came over and said he'd ask about that. Came back and said I can give the loaner phone back and THEY CAN FIX THE PHONE. I asked how if I was previously told it had to be sent out, he just looked at me and said: "It's okay I'm the manager here." If it could have been fixed there why did we go through all that in first place? Went to pick it up and went home. Come to see ALL THEY DID WAS FIX THE MASSAGE SAYING THE CAMERA IS GENUINE. The store itself is neither impressive nor easy to find/get to - due to changes in the shopping center/mall where it is located - and despite the large number of employees visible always seems to have many people patiently waiting for someone to help them - buy, use, repair, or return Apple products. The store reflects Apple's company culture and values - and similar characteristics of the products it sells (that people either like or hate). #1 Make an appointment. #2 Don't just try to walk in. #3 If you need a battery replacement, find one that's easier to get to. This store is in the middle of the **NEW** UTC shopping center (see my next review on THAT one). It's been totally redone, and it's literally like Disneyland in terms of distance and walking and assault (on price). Just plain disappointing and SUCH a far distance. My story: Went on a Saturday night to drop off phone for battery replacement. NOT A GOOD IDEA. I thought it would be an "off" time to drop off a phone for repair but no. The wait was 48 hours. I left. It was just too long to go without my cell. Returned as recommended on Tuesday morning. Dropped off the phone, it took 3 hours. I returned as instructed and the phone wasn't ready. I waited about 45 minutes before I was helped. They were slammed. Those working were kind and tried to help when I checked on the status. I was not upset but I was frustrated that it took so long. Mind you I had already called Apple, spent about 20 minutes on the phone arranging for the battery to be sent to this location, THAT was a headache. Then I was put on a waiting list (mind you 2-5, yes FIVE WEEKS of waiting), thankfully it was just 3 weeks but WOW. I'm really wondering if having apple products as a whole is truly worth it. Purchased several computers here. Excellent customer service!! Purchased a MacBook here for my daughter. The service was excellent . The saleperson took their rime to help from start to finish. They listened to what was needed - gave the recommendation and then - gathered up what we needed. They took the time to boot the laptop and show us how to use it and sign in with the apple iTunes account that my daughter has. This is a great store and I would use it anytime. read more

I had to make a return and went during my lunch break. The parking sucks at UTC. I parked by Sears for convenience. Typically, I'm used to being greeted at the Apple store and I wasn't at this location. I had to approach an employee for assistance on how to go about doing a return. I noticed that this Apple Store is a lot smaller than the Carlsbad, FV and NCF locations. I'm glad that they set up a table out front for quick transactions. Unfortunately, I had to wait. It wasn't very organized as far as where to line up, etc... You just have to ask other customers in line. My return was processed quickly, luckily. I requested the receipt to be emailed back to me, but haven't received it yet. FAIL to this Apple store... read more

My husband was up for a new phone, so we headed into Apple to get him a new iPhone 6. It was pretty busy being the weekend before Christmas, however, it was a short wait to get someone to help us. It was very easy to get the phone he wanted and super easy to walk through the process of making sure we were on the right plan with our wireless carrier. I never knew that you could get an iPhone at Apple and not have to go through the wireless carrier! It was very quick for him to set it up and the staff was very friendly. We had our dog with us on one occasion and we stayed in the corner to make sure we were out of the way. Most of the staff that saw him gave him some loving which he greatly appreciated. On another occasion, I stopped into Apple to return an impulse purchase. The return was super quick and a breeze. read more

Probably since school is officially out for the summer, the place was packed. Thank goodness I didn't have to go to the Genius Bar or I would've had War & Peace-length wait ahead of me. Even though they were so busy, one employee asked if I needed help finding something. I explained what I was looking for and she sent me in the right direction, and also took my name so she could send over another employee to make sure I was getting the right product. Came here this morning to have my battery replaced and unfortunately the store was not open. Then I was greeted by some cocky guy with a hat & glasses on that had a chip on his shoulder. He was rude and very unprofessional to me. Then I was greeted by another guy who said he was a manager but was about as warm & friendly as vinegar! Unfortunately the staff here is very unprofessional and needs to be retrained and sent to charm and etiquette school. I have never been treated worse in a retail store in my entire life. I bought a new IPad just a week before and the screen got cracked, I bought the apple care so I went in to get it replaced. The flaming narcissist DIEGO with the cropped hair, a nasty Lincoln beard and glasses, short little punk. I went in at 10 AM and was told it would be about 45 minutes and wait for the text. Come 11:30, 55 min later I go back, he now changes my wait for another hour at 12:30, so I leave again...no text so I go back at 12:30 and He tells me now it is 12:55.... This time I stand near him and wait. In the meantime, one woman comes in, he tells her 45min, she talks him into letting her go straight to the Genius Bar. Another woman comes in, and he does the same. I am still standing there for what will be a 5-minute interaction. I finally get in at 1:15, there I wait at the Genius Bar for another 45 minutes. After much-griping someone comes, says ok you have apple care we will order you a new iPad and let you know when it comes in. Wow! Really, I waited over 3 hours for just 5 minutes of time and that Flaming Narcissist DIEGO purposely passed at least two women walk in's go straight to the bar. The worst customer service in the nation. Apple store says this is just how they operate because they are so busy.... REALLY, REALLY, you just get to pick and choose the walk-in folks and pick and choose for "whatever reason" that walk-ins who come in 3 hours after a walk in who has been waiting for hours. The Apple support web site said just bring into an Apple store for a return box. Came here to repair my MacBook which has a defect Touch Bar/keyboard, but only got an absurd quote that's $600+. I then asked how much I can get if I were to trade it in and the guy replied I can get the "good condition" price, for which I don't believe and they told me "just don't mention the defect and we won't ask". This is already hilarious because the keyboard is so clearly broken. The repair genius then put me on a waiting list for someone from the sales team to give me an official quote on the trade-in. I waited for ten minutes, nobody came, and I started browsing around. Then I was approached by this woman who is super rude, impatient and so strangely defensive. She kept asking if I "am making purchase today and why am I here". Oh my goodness I then had to tell the whole repair thing to her again and explain I didn't just sneak into their gorgeous store and not buying anything. The woman was so impatient and I had to ask everything about how the trade in works, about the new product I want to purchase, and if the broken keyboard would affect the value. Because she would simply stand there and not suggest nor explain anything to me. In the end she told me the same trade-in value and I pointed to her the broken keyboard and she said she knew she saw my repair appointment. So hilarious because they wanted an absurd $600 to fix it but somehow the broken keyboard doesn't affect the trade in value? That's because they are BOTH overcharging for repair and low balling for trade in. $600 to fix a defect product plus one of the rudest shop workers I've ever seen, what a day read more

Matt was super helpful and understanding when it came to handling my phone issue. On February 4th, I was told my phone would be sent out and repaired at no cost, due to an apple malfunction (within 5 business days). 3 weeks later with no phone calls or emails from the apple repair site, I decided to call and see what the status on my phone was. They then proceeded to tell me that they weren't able to fix the malfunction itself, but wanted to charge me $300 for a loose wire in the charging port that didn't affect my phone at all. I went in on February 20th to pick up my still broken phone, and explained my whole situation to Matt. He was very apologetic about the horrible customer service I had received and was nice enough to fix the issue at hand. Overall, Matt needs a raise because he was incredibly compassionate and handled this like a boss, when other employees were just standing around. P.S. the 5 stars is for Matt. read more

Picture this. It's about 7:30pm on a Tuesday night. You just got out of class. Your computer is on the fritz and you couldn't open word the whole day, which also has the paper that you just finished the night before and is due tomorrow. You're tired, pissed off, and a grown arse woman that might start crying any second now. What do you do? I'll tell you what you do. You go to Apple at UTC. Went there and talked to Minnie at the front. She politely told me that all the appointments for the genius bar were filled up for the day but that I could come back the next day at 10am. I told her my predicament and she came up with the idea of calling Apple call center.
