If you're a person of color I would do everything possible to avoid this location. Especially if you're forced to interact with 2 of the managers, Frank and Kelly. I've been in multiple times and treated like a second class citizen by them. Everything from being accused of stealing to not being sent any help after multiple requests, meanwhile White customers would walk in and get immediate help. For some things this store is great, like replacing a malfunctioning cable, for others it can be an ordeal, like getting anything repaired. The customer service is lackadaisical, and some staff do not bother helping you. I dropped off my phone for a battery repair, and called in to ask if a friend may pick it up because I couldn't wait that long, and the person said yes and that he will record the name. However, when my friend got there, nobody had any record of that conversation ever taking place and refused to give the phone to my friend. Worse customer service Ever from Apple! My appointment at the Genius Bar was for 12:45. I was seen right away. My phone text message notifications and alert sounds were not working. That was fixed. Diagnostic results said too many apps on my phone. I said it was running slow, so he said a new battery would help. Ok, so I agreed to get a new battery. It was now 1:05 and I was told it would take one hour. So, I went for a walk, doing some window shopping. I stopped and had a tiny bite to eat and some sparkling water. Back to Apple at 2:05. First person checked and said it was going to be 5 minutes more. Second person that checked said it was going to take 15 or 20 minutes more. At 2:55 I checked again and was told 5 minutes more. At 3:15, I was told they were short handed and needed 5 minutes more. At 3:40, my phone was given to me, I paid them, and expressed my anger, frustration and stress. Eh, they didn't care! A bunch of techie 20 year olds with not an ounce of customer service and thinking it was better just to ignore the customer! I can't say enough about the Apple Store and its products! I've been using them for years and without fail, they are the best around from iMacs, iPhones, iPad/Pods, etc. I had the original MacBookPro from 2005 and used it for eight years until I finally went with the Air. This original still works well but only reached the end of my being able to upgrade it. The service is this store is excellent. It's always busy but you never have to wait long for someone to assist you. These employees tend to really know their stuff too. Many things that I thought would have to go through the Genius Bar were solved through them on many occasions. There is one thing that I do recommend, which is that you get outside the Apple Store for your computer and phone cases (perhaps iPad keyboards too). You can often find better and more affordable accessories away from the Apple Store - even at some close-by kiosks at this mall. But for all things phone, computer, and MP3 player - nothing beats Apple! And yes, I have been an Android user in the past too. Android is great, but IMO not as great as Apple. Horrible experience. I have never EVER had my phone stolen ( or any piece of electronics for that matter ) and they let it happen here. Basically, they said to charge my phone on a charger at the store and they let my phone get stolen right off their table. And to make matters worse, they didn't even seem to care at all and were very unhelpful. They offered no help or advice and basically just put up their hands to say there was nothing they could do and seemed very uninterested or concerned that it even happened at all. Appointment process here is really not good. For a shopping session, you can only do 3 days in advance - they clear out really fast each day. So I tried walking in to be told that you needed an appointment and the next one was in 5 hours. I usually don't write reviews but my first experience doing business with Apple was so frustrating I felt the need to voice my concerns. I took my phone in for a repair, the representatives at the front were very helpful and quick to help. Came back two hour later and an extreme rude employee Jason returned my phone. He was very unhelpful, uninformative, and had a bad attitude. The issue with my phone was not resolved immediately but employees assured me that it will resolve itself within 42 hours. Thanks to Jason I doubt the credibility of Apple. Apple is a great company and there are plenty of great talent out there that take pride in their work and are willing to help (like the representatives in front and Matt, who was professional in addressing my concerns) Definitely not coming back or referring anyone to this Apple location if this bad Apple Jason is here. read more

AWFUL. What is going on with your customer service?! Around six on Friday, I went to get a new phone which cost me around 1500 (including AppleCare). Neither AirPods/earphones nor the wall plug charger are included. Not only that, but the manager, Kim, was rude about it. We asked about the AirPods, which they've been giving with every iPhone/Macbook/iPad purchase, or if there were a possibility of getting a used plug, and her response was very disrespectful. Her attitude was the highlight of our experience. That is NO way to treat a customer. Why has Apple stopped including earphones? Am I now just paying for a phone and extension? They talked about reducing packaging for the environment. Well, guess what, by selling the plug on its own, you're creating more waste that is affecting our environment. Stop labeling and using our Earth as an excuse for you to make more profit. "Pay more and get less" should be your new slogan. Way to care for your environment. Bravo. I was going to buy a Macbook but decided not to after this awful experience. The branch in UTC mall is absolutely the worst. Not all employees care about customers. Initially I was reticent to return to Apple UTC. Apple UTC was where I purchased my previous iPhone. I recalled the service being excellent. I also remember at that time (2016-2017) it required a couple of hours to set up & transfer the data. My concern was I checked out another Apple Store & 2-Verizon stores. The Yelp evaluations for all 4 stores were negative. That being the case I noticed many of the reviews were from 8-12+ months ago. During the worst of the COVID-19. Since the fewest of the negative responses were Apple UTC, I decided to return. I was greeted by a young woman who asked how she could help. I told her I needed a new iPhone. Within seconds I was greeted by an associate. His name was Tim. I told him what I wanted. Gave more information. We were on the run. The transfer process was much faster than my previous phone. I purchased a new iPhone 12 128-gig phone, some beats wireless, rechargeable sport ear buds & a protective'Otter Box. I had the ability to pay for it without financing. Got the beats air buds while on sale, got $240 back for my old phone. I'm very happy with the service and attention to detail. An excellent experience. read more

Went here over the weekend for my Genius Bar appointment...incredibly disappointed. Tried to check in - THREE separate employees handed me off to another one saying "they can help u check in". Good thing I showed up 15 min early cuz it took that long just to get somebody to help. Finally checked in.... my appointment started 20 minutes late! No way a good manager continues to hires jerks and staff with attitudes. Even the security guards there are bad for business. I bought expensive Sonos speakers to play the song's I purchased on mi newest 11 pro iPhone. I purchased over 500 songs @ $1.29 per song. Now Sonos tells me I have to buy Apple Music system ( a monthly fee) to play the songs on my iPhone. After spending hundreds of dollars in songs ( the only song's I want to hear) they cannot be heard on my Sonos speakers unless I: 1. Buy more Apple products or 2. Buy more Sonos products or 3. Buy a Microsoft computer to play the songs from which the Apple and Sonos works. So of the four of us Apple, Sonos, Microsoft and Me, everyone wins but me; the consumer. Company bought me a new phone and I refused to unbox it until it had a case and screen protector. I went to the store at like 11am on a Tuesday to avoid any crowd (success) and was greeted immediately. I told them I needed a screen protector (OCD as heck, need them to install it using the machine or the bubbles would drive me insane) and someone else came over to help. He was very friendly and personable and I was out of there in 10 minutes. Came here Saturday night with a iPhone issue. We arrived just before 8, and were walking out with our issue fixed by 9am. I have heard we should have made a reservation but the next available was over a week out. Javier helped us, and he was fun to talk to while he was working. Overall a good experience for an issue we didn't want. Parking is getting better in the mall, and overall the mall is really turning into a nice place to hangout. The apple employee said it would take 1.5-2hrs to finish and I would get an email when it's ready. I stopped by the store after 1.5hrs and asked for an update on my laptop. They said it was still in progress and that they will call when it's ready. I waited at the mall until the 2hr mark and decided to leave. It's now 3pm and I haven't gotten an update. This store seems to have a 'black male just entered the store' protocol. Security guard, whom was the only other black person in the store, asked me to step to the side. Groups of people stepped into the store after me and just took their place in line, guard never uttered a word to these other people, while I waited aside for whatever reason. Then he arbitrarily tells me to talk to this specific hipster whom helped everyone that came in after me. Mind you the security person had a bit of an out of place aggression about his communication to me. The store was full of people browsing. My wife and I went to exchange an Apple Pencil that she received from work that she lost and just found (brand new and unopened). We went to the UTC store to do what we assumed would be an exchange with a slight upcharge for the newer pencil since the one she has wasn't compatible with her iPad. To our surprise and humiliation, we dealt with two different people and were made to feel like we had either stolen the pencil (until they found it was actually purchased from Apple) or we then overheard the guy tell the gal that it may be fake. First, they simply needed to look up my Apple ID to know I've spent tens of thousands of dollars on Apple products, second that the pen model we were trying to exchange is still being sold at the store (Apple is clearly not innovating as much as they claim), and lastly where has the Apple culture that respects their customer gone? ...these two clowns clearly need remediation and I will not be going back to the UTC store anytime soon. read more

I broke my iPhone that is covered by Apple Care plus. I made an appointment at thenUTC location (1 hr drive). Get to the appointment to have the rude employee tell me that I do not have Apple Care coverage, I would need to pay $550 for a new phone. I told him I was sent to the location by Apple customer service and they already confirmed that I have apple care. This employee told me to call T-Mobile to get my situation under control and he would have to help other customers because he didn't have any more time to waste. He was with me for a maximum of 5 minutes!!!! I walked out of the store and drove to the Tmobile store to obtain proof of my coverage in writing. Now, I have to make another appt to get the service that I pay for monthly. I will try the Eastlake location. UTC employees are incredibly rude, disrespectful and not very helpful at all. read more

Where to start my extremely Disappointing experience with this Apple Store. 1st- I was greeted by a worker with "yo"... seriously?? Am I 16? Ok, moving on- met with a worker since I had an appt (how self important and obnoxious Apple stores are on this alone, let alone the "yo" and almost every other annoying aspect of every one of them I have ever been into) to fix a "KNOWN IPHONE X Display Module" problem. I was treated like they were doing me a favor in just talking with me about my phone's problem, even though it was a problem that had come from the factory. To note, Apple never once contacted me regarding this fatal flaw (which results in "ghost touch" and the ultimate inability to use your phone) and never advertised it to it's customers. I was told that I was "9 days" past the warranty window. You Kidding me, "9 days" past the warranty window during the heart of a worldwide pandemic, in which Apple Stores were closed for quite some time- what a joke. Thanks for the concession and consideration. I spoke with the store manager, Russel or something, and he was quite robotic in his response and interaction. "Well you are 9 days late, you had 3 yrs to get this fixed". Condescending with a complete lack of perspective taking. Uh, 14+ month pandemic, not to mention when I made the actual appt to come in it was within the warranty window, I had no idea there was a fatal flaw in the Iphone x (again not advertised by Apple despite the phone being more then $1k), etc etc. Tough, kick rocks- great, thanks. The response- you should have (magically) known there was a problem (from the factory) with your phone before the problem started and (during a worldwide pandemic) you should have figured out how to bring your phone in to fix a problem APPLE MADE. I second what so many others say in the reviews- Apple Stores in general have terrible customer service and this store is the epitome of this. What an Unfortunate experience, it really has led me to go to another phone brand despite Iphones being top notch for so long. I had an appointment at 6:15pm on Monday, August 12. I was checked in at that time and told to sit and wait. I was not seen until 6:45pm. I was then told that my appointment was cancelled after I gave in and asked the person in an apple t shirt about the delay. It was obviously a mistake when I was checked in and that is not the main point. During that 30 minutes of waiting I sat by 3 other representatives and also had multiple employees walking around. Everytime I tried to make eye contact they would look away. I finally gave in and starting talking to the guy next to me and asked. I work in customer service as well and I completely acknowledge if it is busy but if someone is waiting and looking like a sad puppy, you should ask them what's wrong or if they are being assisted. For a service that I know will cost me an arm and a leg I think having the decently to be self aware of your surroundings is crucial. I was planning on either fixing my computer screen or getting a new laptop. I was actually very excited for my purchase and was looking forward to it for a couple of weeks. I was finally seen by a guy who was really helpful but towards the end it did feel like I was a nuisance and I was left at the table for a significant amount of time and I looked around and saw him with another group of people. My two stars at least are for the guy that told me my appointment was cancelled and for the lady who was the only person that smiled and made eye contact when I looked at her to help ring up my purchased hard drive. Also I thought the guy teaching a class at the other table was very interactive with his client. (Kudos to you all!!) Apple is a really cool company but how the store and employees are set up to feels extremely over the top and pretentious. I get the cool art seating area but as awesome as the look was it was not a welcoming experience at all and I was extremely disappointed. Would you expect to pay $300-400 for a watch and accept that the face came loose after 4 years? Well, it happened to my Apple Watch. After talking to support and going into an Apple store I was left with pay $200 to repair it or buy a new one since it is out of warranty. Per Russell, at the UTC store "Adhesives fail after a period of time". First of all, REALLY??? I've never had the face of a watch come loose in my life. This is a manufacturing DEFECT!!! Russell was extremely condescending and flippant about my concerns. Secondly, I've now read online that this is a KNOWN ISSUE for first generation Apple watches and apparently they HAVE BEEN replacing them!!! I am a huge Apple fan and own everything Apple. not even a year after having my track pad "fixed" by the "engineers" here, it stopped working again. I brought it in today where I was was quoted around $450, including a $120 labor fee to get it fixed again. You can tell they only care about money and their profits are prioritized over customer satisfaction. I had the unpleasant experience with one of their team members, who I won't name drop.... Who suggested I buy a new laptop all together. Wow! Amazing idea! Let me just pull 1 grand out of my asshole and hand it to you. They don't realize that some people may not be able to suddenly afford a new laptop when it suddenly breaks again due to the improper "repair". Making reservation online is practically seamless. Rescheduling is so easy without the agony of a phone call. You can only check-in 5 min early at the store. Took a couple of visits but finally my laptop will now charge. My iPhone7 works with Messenger and What'sApp finally; video and mic was not available. Mostly software issues.
