I have always had a chip on my shoulder about Applebee's but I must say, my experience here was one to remember. **Granted we came on a Sunday when they first opened at 11am** We were greeted as soon as we walked in and seated immediately. Brought us waters and answered my questions about the menu and gave a recommendation on what to order. The Bloody Mary was made so well (First Drink the Bar tender made for the day, so she was able to give it more love and attention) asked for it to be extra spicy and she succeeded! I went to this Applebee's on a Monday night with a few of my roommates. We mainly just went for their $1 drink of the month: Strawberry Vodka Lemonade. Me and one other roommate each got four of these each and our other roommate got two orders of Pretzel sticks with cheese (which were DELICIOUS). My total overall came out to be about $5. This was a great girls night out for an amazing price! Our waiter was on top of getting us new drinks and making sure we were well taken care of. For a Monday night is was not busy at all. Me and my roommates, one birthday party, and a couple other groups. But it was nice and quiet (aside from our loud selves) Long story short, this location was clean, quick, and cheap. So I read some of the previous comments and this was not my experience. We walked in and were immediately greeted and seated, then offered drinks and appetizers. Placed our orders and appetizers canes out with drinks. Food took a little long but I think it was due to my order. When We ordered we got salmon skillet and steak skillet. Both delicious. I'm glad this Applebee's opened in the East Anaheim Center. - The area really needed a traditional American fare type place that is casual, has a bar and isn't a fast food place! It's a great "go to" place that takes no effort - because sometimes you just want a drink and something easy. I like the neighborhood bar and and grill concept - and have actually gone over for a drink and some appetizers with my neighbors! There's quite a few service issues in the reviews. We've always sat at the tables in the bar and had mostly good service - not great, some fair - but not bad!! We have not sat in the dining room. I've ordered to go - and had couple beers at the bar while I waited. Dos XX on tap for me and Blue Moon for my honey - a plus for me!! Plenty of sports on the multiple TV's and friendly patrons as far as I can tell. To make things even easier they have car side delivery to go! Great rack of ribs! Finally got a great plate of ribs. The Southwest Fiesta bowl was great also spicy but not to hot just the right amount of sauce avocado and chimi churi sauce . The garlic red skin mashed potatoes and garlic green beans went perfectly with the ribs. We also had the sugar dusted donut dippers for dessert. Plus 3pm to 6pm is happy hour and 9pm til close. $4.00 to $7.00 depending on the drinks. It was this Sunday the 20th and we were seated instantly since there wasn't a huge crowd. And this review really is for the waitress we had. I don't remember her name but she was quick and friendly. She was older, had tattoos on her hands (I think). We were seated on a lonely table close to the exit on the right side of the restaurant. The food also tasted better than most days. Came in after SNF and was honestly shocked. Couldn't decide where to eat but it was around the corner from my house so I said why not! I started off with a peach iced tea and ordered a quesadilla burger! The tea was great and the quesadilla burger was surprisingly delicious. Was a perfect blend of a quesadilla and a burger, was very flavorful. It wasn't very busy but service was great, my server Andrew made sure I had everything I needed with my meal and kept the refills coming. We have been coming here a lot lately at least once a week because my son and my nephew love it. Mainly it's because of the song that talks about Oreo shakes but they also love the kids meals. My six-year-old nephew wanted to have his birthday party here and invited 15 of our family. We were all very worried about having such a large group but everyone was so accommodating. They do not take reservations but we're hopeful giving us advice on coming with such a large group. We had 4 crazy kids and one baby and our server Marcus made every effort to make sure we had a good dinner. One of the best servers we have had in a long time. After ordering our first round of wings, we had to wait a little more than half an hour to order a second round and we didn't even order from her. I had to ask a different server to take our order for us. Each task would take her more than fifteen minutes, for example, asking for ranch would take more than fifteen minutes. Our server was Marcus and he was the absolute best, super attentive and very friendly. Wings and fries weren't anything to die for but being endless and for only 12.99 it was such a great deal. The time you wait for your food at this location is outrageous! The waiter kept making stupid jokes and we weren't amused! He forgot to put in our appetizer order and people seated near us got there later and received their food first. The waiter kept disappearing to the back and never refilled out drinks. When we finally got our food (after asking him to check on our order) the entrees were lukewarm but the Alfredo sauce for the breadsticks was pipping hot that I burned my tongue. It's like they over heated it in the microwave at the last minute! Imagine if my 7 yr old had the first bite! So we ate and asked for the check and when we paid the waiter came back stating that our card was declined and if we had another card. I said that's impossible, it can't be declined and he said he was just kidding! The couple that was sitting next to us kept on staring and it was so humiliating! My husband is usually a very quiet and no fuss person and I knew he was so mad and embarrassed when I saw the look on his face after the guys joke! We got our receipt and left. That was the first time we ever left a restaurant without tipping and we are always very generous with our tips! It seems to be going downhill. Our appetizer came with our dinner. I ordered a drink that so far half way through my meal has not yet come. It is quite disconcerting to see a person who does not work here reach over the counter at in the bar area and help himself to things. I have no idea the last time he might have washed his hands. We eat here a lot so I know this guy is a regular. He likes to come in and take control of the TVs. Perhaps he has an interest in this restaurant, but this is not good for business. All drinks come from the bar and I don't even want to have water now. As it stands now we are finished with our meal. My drink never came (guess it is just as well) and our waitress has not stopped by at all to ask about our meal no refill on my tea or my sons drink. would have liked extra BBQ sauce with my wings. My grand daughters max and cheese was so over cooked it should have just been called mushy noodles substance with cold fries!
