BUILD YOUR OWN BAR-B-QUE COMBO - PICK 3
    Ana B.

Ordered a build your own barbecue plate; the portions felt a little small compared to mom and pop shops but it was surprisingly good! The brisket had a little too much fatty pieces, but the burnt ends were some of the best I've had! We are open to coming back! Our waitress was super attentive! The restaurant was very spacious and it was a short wait.

Came into Lucille's for an early dinner today. We asked where happy hour took place at the hostess table and we were responded with happy hour did not start until 4. We agreed to sit by the bar area and wait until 4 o'clock when I noticed a sign on the table happy hour is from 3-7 Monday through Friday. The hostess that walked us to the table has no clue what time happy hour starts. Kenadie was our server and she was friendly but somewhat dropped the ball while serving us. She took our orders but never brought us our drinks and when the food was brought out she asked if we needed anything else we said yes our drinks. First brought to our table were the biscuits with apple butter which were probably the best thing we had. We ordered onion straws that tasted like nothing. My son's pasta was pretty bland. Hubby said his tri tip sandwich was also pretty bland the fries were ok. My meal was just sad I ordered a two item bbq plate with pulled chicken that was not pulled but was cut up into small pieces and the flavor was just unpleasant The tri tip was a super small and dry portion. I couldn't finish the mac and cheese. I felt very dissatisfied. Strawberry lemonades were pretty yummy. Overall though a sad visit to Lucille's.

Who knew Lucille's had great happy hour pricing. We had a concert at the Honda center and checked it out! There was something for everyone from hot chicken sandwich, deviled eggs, to burnt ends. We pretty much liked everything except our friend didn't like the nachos. The brisket on it tasted weird. Service was great and the bar was packed!! Fun casual ambience for any get together.

BUILD YOUR OWN BAR-B-QUE COMBO - PICK 2 SMOKED PORK BELLY BURNT ENDS BBQ BEANS PICNIC POTATO SALAD BEEF BRISKET PER POUND

I ordered BBQ from Lucille's Smokehouse Bar-B-Que today, and I want to start by saying the person who took my order was kind, professional, and helpful. Unfortunately, the food itself was very disappointing. Presentation-wise, it looked like I was given the last of several items. I spent almost $40 on a 2-meat combo and banana pudding. The combo included brisket, pork belly burnt ends, potato salad, and baked beans. The brisket looked visibly dried out and unfortunately tasted dry as well. The pork belly burnt ends were okay, but the portion size was very small for the price. The sides were decent, but the potato salad container definitely could have been filled more like the baked beans were. The biscuit with apple butter also seemed like it may have been the last one available. It was broken, dry, cold, and just tossed into the bag. The biggest disappointment was the banana pudding. It tasted mostly like whipped cream, and there were no bananas or vanilla wafer cookies included at all, despite that being how it is described on the menu. There was some type of crumble in it, but very little. For $9, I expected actual pudding, bananas, and vanilla wafers. It honestly felt like a waste of money. I normally don't complain, but this meal did not reflect the quality I expected for the price paid. I also reached out to them via their website and never heard anything back. I guess I jist expected to at least recieve an email acknowledging my email. But nope. I probably will not return to this location and it sucks because it is the only one near my home and this was my first time going there.

I always judge bbq based on this...if it didn't even need sauce. Lucille's passed my test, although the sauces on the table were very good! Our family visited the Orange location the week of Christmas during a Disney trip. We were given gift cards to this place and it was our first time trying it. We LOVED it! The biscuits and butter that come with your order are amazing. Cinnamon apple butter, I could eat that by itself! The menu is packed with options for everyone. They have everything from individual meals to family packs. It's a little pricey, but well within expectations. The staff was amazing throughout our visit. The manager even stopped to see how we were doing. Wish there was a location in San Diego, I would probably frequent this place regularly if they did!

I went to Costco and they had a few different gift cards on sale so I ended up picking one up. My fiancée and I chose to try this one. I personally think the service was good. The female waitress that serviced us was really friendly and made sure we were good. Also asked us when we got close to finishing if we were ready for the desert we ordered so it came out hot and it was good! The reviews threw me off a bit, but it was decent. I liked the atmosphere, it was old school looking but still felt nice. The food was decent, maybe a little dry to some, but in general it was pretty good. I'm definitely going to be coming back since we still have one more gift card, but I might snag a few more from Costco to start a little stockpile for date nights.

management was bad when i first walked in... my party of 4 had a wait of 14 mins which wasn't bad until we see parties of 4 gwt seated when they came way later.. talked to host and said "oh i must've forgot"... bad start already queso dip which was an appetizer took 30 mins very cheesy barely any pico de gallo and beef ordered brisket to go and was all fatty brisket when we got non fatty ones at the restaurant eating won't be returning, not worth.

It had been a while since we went to Lucille's. We stopped in on New Years Day and sat at the bar top. It was happy hour. We had the brisket nachos and they were great. We also had a wedge salad which was a solid choice. I was curious to try the potato salad so we ordered a side. It was great. Now ill need to have that potato salad every time. It tasted like a classic backyard BBQ. We ordered a nice bottle of wine and enjoyed our time. Service was quick. Only downfall was a crying baby in the bar the entire time we were there. The parents didnt seem to care and just let the baby cry. I really wish babies were not allowed in bar areas, but not my rules. Overall, I think this is a great and affordable happy hour.

    Beignets
    Leana N.

They were limited on servers so I will not provide less scoring for that. The food, we got the rib plate with a drink (24.99), soup and dessert (14.99), corn (6.99) and two kids meals with drinks. Plus a muddy water (Arnold Palmer) and it was 83.00 give or take. A lot of the stuff besides the ribs were flavorless and I was overcharged for the 14.99 combo. Then the beignets were not really beignets. Ambiance was nice but was a little disappointed with the food.

If you have a big group, please reserve a couple days in advance! We messed up and forgot to reserve and had to do walk in. Our group had 10 people so we decide to come in early around 5pm. Unfortunately my friends are allergic to coming on time so we almost lost our table. Thankfully our hostess was extremely gracious and helped us out. Bless you girl!! Food wise honestly it was okay. The Apple Butter Biscuits were the highlight lol. We got the Triple Meat Meal with the St. Louis Ribs, Jalapeño Cheese Sausage, and the Burnt ends. It came with Two sides: we got Mac and Cheese and Garlic Mash Potatoes. Onion Straws and. Peach Cobbler for Dessert. Our Sausage came out the wrong one but they let us keep it and got us our right order :) If I go again I would definitely get the sausages and the Brisket again(tried my friends and it was pretty good).

Went for happy hour and it was just okay. The best part of the meal were the biscuits and butter as always. Pricing was good but none of the food was unfortunately. The beef brisket was thinly sliced and on the drier side, pork was juicy but a bit tough. Drinks were great I liked my old fashioned and service was on point. Would not come back

Today I found a large piece of plastic in my mac and cheese. Not a tiny fragment, but a noticeable piece that I actually pulled out of the food. What makes it even more disappointing is that this isn't the first issue I've had here. I kept coming back hoping the experience would improve, but it seems like the same problems keep happening. The only plus today was that I actually got my food on time for once. Unfortunately, after giving this place multiple chances, It's hard to come back.

I've been to Lucille's once before, (brea location) and I remember thinking it was mediocre and overpriced. Not bad, but not worth it. Today, I decided to give their happy hour a try. Pros: Free WiFi Happy hour! Nice staff Warm moist towel after the meal Cons: No mocktails Food seemed to take a while to come out The biscuit came with apple butter. It was delicious. I thought it was honey butter, and surprised when she said apple butter, because the apple butter I'm used to is kind of like spreadable apple sauce. Regardless, I really liked it. I ordered the New Orleans gumbo, which was alright. If you're not obsessed with gumbo, you'll probably love it, but I have pretty high standards in that department, so for me, it was just okay. I wouldn't pay full price for it. I also got the southern fried dill pickles, which were yummy and had the perfect amount of batter and crisp. They were spears (not rounds) in case that matters to you. They come with ranch and some kind of mustard-y mayonnaise. The ranch was better in my opinion. They also give you a warm towel at the end of the meal, which I thought was a nice touch. Overall, it was alright, but I look forward to going back and trying more of their happy hour!

    Just us on Easter inside.

When we walked in, there wasn't a host or greeter at the front stand. Instead, the bartender YELLED across the restaurant TWICE to get our attention and then yelled at us again for us to "sit anywhere". I wanted to sit outside to enjoy the summer weather, but after seeing the lack of staff, we sat in direct view of the front desk and general path of travel. Even then we had to repeatedly ask for our drinks. Service was slow, disorganized and the staff just walked around without urgency. I'd love to say the food made it better, but that wasn't the case. The smoked rib tips arrived so dry that they were practically beef jerky. They tasted like they had been reheated in a microwave. Our son ordered wings with buffalo sauce and they came out bone dry without the sauce. We alerted a random waitress because ours was nowhere to be found and she took them back to be coated. It literally took 20 minutes to have them back. I mean, what the heck are the kitchen people doing?!! Lastly, they no longer serve potato salad.... I loved their potato salad! Ugh! Safe to say we will not be returning...ever!

All the tables were full and there was one party of 11 just ahead of us. Our wait for a table was like 30 minutes or so. Once we were up we were guided to a table towards the back for five. Our server asked if we been here before and if we wanted anything else besides water to drink. My brother and his fiance split a full order of the beef ribs and side order of sauteed garlic green beans. My mom and step dad split a full order of beef ribs while I ordered a full rack of baby back ribs which came with two side orders. I picked coleslaw and onion rings which I shared with the family. The food came out promptly. Everyone enjoyed their food. The baby back ribs were moist with flavor, smoked and went well with their bbq sauce. The rest of the family really like their beef ribs. And they even commented that it was better than the other bbq places we been to. Definitely will return and highly recommend.

*** SCAM ALERT *** I…read moredon't use the word "SCAM" lightly, but that's what this was. My adult son called in a $281.62 order off the menu for Mother's Day. They would not accept the order or payment over the phone because the order was "too big." They asked that someone go there and pay up front for the entire order. Since it was the evening before Mother's Day, I drove to them and paid for the order. Yes, I was also presented with a minumum 20% TIP screen, which I declined. When I got there at pickup time (4:00pm) on Mother's Day, the price changed to $325.51. I was told that, for some reason, they had cut about 50% larger portions than the menu specified (see the line items, which should have been 1 lb. each), so they charged me for the difference ($325.51 - $281.62) which was $43.89 (about 50% more for the 2 items they cut heavier). No, there was no mention when I placed the order that the total cost might change due to extra meat. Neither is it shown on their web site or printed menus. When I protested, there was no option. If I don't pay the $43.89 difference, I don't get the Mother's Day food. After about 20 minutes of bickering at the counter with two different clerks (note the time stamp differences on the credit card slips), I was given my original order, with a net price reduction of ($281.62 - $254.93) $26.69. My persistence had paid off. On a positive note, the cook did, twice, walk up to me and quietly apologize for what was going on. I know many folks would have folded in this situation, but that's not my nature. I don't stand for dishonesty. Yes, it was embarrassing, other clients in line were not happy (I let them skip ahead of me so as not to inconvenience them). None of them had price increases. I don't know if the clerks wanted a tip because the management doesn't pay them much, or it this goes deeper and is standard operating procedure that assumes most clients will simply approve of the overage and pay up. In any case, from this client's point of view, this is a SCAM! When it was all over, I took my 11 and 12 year old grandsons (who had been sitting patiently waiting for grandpa to pay) and my food package to the car, drove home and proudly presented the meat to my family. After all, I am a hunter-gatherer; and the food was great!
