We tried Philly's Best Cheesesteaks and it did not disappoint! I ordered the new Cooper Classic with beef on a seeded roll, and it was packed with great flavor and plenty of meat. The roll was toasted a little more than I personally prefer, but it still held everything together nicely and made for a really satisfying sandwich. We also ordered two Philly's Best cheesesteaks with mushrooms and sweet peppers for my husband and nephew, and my husband absolutely loved his--he couldn't stop talking about how good it was. Came in on May 19th on a Thursday around 7 p.m. because the store hours posted said you close at 8 p.m. My experience honestly was disappointing from the beginning. The cashier seemed very new and was not welcoming at all. There was no greeting, no customer service, just a stare and "what do you want?" type of attitude. I ordered two combo meal deals that included sandwiches, fries, and fountain drinks because there was supposed to be a promotion taking $2 off each combo. Even after that, the total still came out to about $52 for two subs, two drinks, and two sides, which honestly felt extremely overpriced for what we received. Right after ordering, we were told the food had to be to-go because they were "about to close," even though we arrived around 7 p.m. and closing time posted says 8 p.m. We ended up eating in the car instead. While we were outside, I noticed the employees already cleaning up early. The female employee ended up closing the shop around 7:35 -7:40pm while the older gentleman cooking in the back was still inside cleaning and finishing up. Great tasting Philly cheesesteaks. I must say, these things are now on the pricey side but it's 2025, so it's to be expected I guess. Got a large Philly's Best (which is essentially a cheesesteak with mushrooms and hot peppers) by itself and it came out to $15.07 after tax. If I wanted to add fries and a drink, it would have been $25. Am I crazy for thinking that $25 for a sandwich, fries and a drink is too much? They charge $5 for fries and $4 for a fountain drink, both of which I think is too much. I think they should incorporate different portion sizes instead of charging a flat $5 for fries. Maybe I'm just a cheap mf, idk. Anywho, I said eff all that and decided to stick with just the sandwich. The lady who rang me up (who I think is the manager?) was very kind and very accommodating. She checked up on me and asked if I needed anything to which I replied everything was great (but I really wanted to tell her that I need them fries to be cheaper). I would definitely come back when I get my craving for a good Philly cheesesteak but I will probably continue to pass on getting fries and a drink unless they finally decide to listen to my sage business advice. read more

I have loved this place for years and hopefully management/owners can resolve this so I can update this review. Yesterday I placed a pick up order on yelp via Grubhub. I usually order from the location on Tustin but mistakenly placed the order here. I noticed as soon as the confirmation page came up with the Chapman address. Realizing my mistake I immediately called the restaurant and told them of my mistake and asked for the order to be canceled. They said I have to contact grub hub. I was also told that wouldn't fulfill the order and look for the grub hub order to be canceled. I called grub hub and explained this and they reached out to the restaurant to verify. The restaurant lied and told them the food was made and picked up already!! I was denied my refund and I asked them to call again and remind them that I called before the food was made and they agreed to cancel the order. They lied again but also changed their story telling the grub hub representative that they had already put the chicken and hamburger on the grill by the time I had called. Lies! They still won't not issue a refund and I'm just screwed. I realize it was my mistake but I quickly fixed it and still am out $50. Yes $50 their sandwiches are very expensive. I even placed an order to the right location right after I was told to call grub hub and they would issue the refund. Shame on the employees who worked on August 17th, around 1:30 pm. I reviewed this restaurant once before at five stars. Sad I'd had to change it. read more

FOOD - I purchased Philly's best for roughly $12.50. Overpriced for the quality and flavor. Something in the sandwich was excessively sweet - not sure if it was the onions or peppers. Also, the mushrooms are chopped so finely that you can't even taste it. I'm talking, julienne cut - more or less invisible. 1 star because of the staff was polite and service was quick. I love this place but always have the same issue that I just to bring up here. The food is great but there's two restrooms and they refused to allow anyone to use them. Like the employee told my husband someone is there while it was just him and I in there. My husband asked to used the other restroom. Then employee denied there was second one which was crazy and he refused for him to use it. We came back another day because I go next door for physical therapy and literally they weren't allowing anyone to use it. Why? You have two have a restroom for customers but the upsetting part is that he was laughing with another female employee. Then another time we were eating our sandwiches and this construction worker comes in knew the female worker and asked to use the restroom and she allowed him. So my husband decided to ask to use it since she allowed this individual that didn't purchase and her reply was no. Like this horrible and the smirk on her face is disgusting. You guys need to really see how your team is with customers. Lastly when you walked in you normally have to announce your there because it's an empty kitchen and no on at register. This is what we deal with. Your sandwiches are great and the only reason we continue is because that's our lunch before going to Spine and Sport. If you want to go old-school with the wiz, or you want to use cheddar... If you want peppers and onions, or you just want onions... They make them all correctly! No this is still Southern California, so it's not identical to some thing you get on South Street... But it's the closest I found out here. Also a big plus that they had hot peppers for me to load up on because I love me some spice. I went to this location for a cheesesteak sandwich. While I was there, I added fries to my cheesesteak sandwich order. i got sticker shock when the bill rang up over $16 for a sandwich & fries. NO DRINK! The guys working there were very nice. My order was ready faster. Faster than the fries could of been completely fried. When I sampled the fries on my drive back home. The fries were GROSS, soggy & droopy. I unwrapped my cheesesteak & there was no meat or cheese that could be seen. I had to literally, open the roll to see any meat & cheese. The taste of the cheesesteak meat seemed very different than I remembered. It tasted like it was freezer burned, than cooked & used to make sandwich. Lack of communication inside the store and dishonest shop. We ordered using wrong Uber eats account, called the store immediately to cancel and told that we will order the same one under different account. They accepted (transaction time to turned canceled was 5 minutes according to Uber record), we ordered again as promised, but they still charged for the both orders. Called the store multiple times, manager does not return your call. After 2 months, still no progress. I do not see how you can rate more than 1 star who plays games like this. This was the good experience that almost didn't happen. Found this restaurant while going to another store, checked yelp with good reviews. Walked up to the entrance and was hit by a very bad odor. Not sure what it was , smelled like sewer. Walked in and the inside didn't seem to have that same odor so I rolled the dice as the establishment looked very clean. Got the beef and chicken Phillies.
