It is a great place for fruity and fun drinks. Me and friend went to dinner prior to a place without liquor service. We wanted to extend the evening with a summer fruity drink. The white peach sangria was so delicious and a great deal.. Our server was so sweet and attentive!... but then she got fired while we were still eating. I'm not leaving 2 stars because she was fired - I have no idea what the circumstances were - but the giggles and awkward energy surrounding the termination definitely contribute. The way it was handled around customers just wasn't professional or respectful. We shouldn't have known what was going on, especially like that. I just got a crispy chicken salad, and it was very mid. The lettuce was crisp, but the tomatos were gross and some were grey. I thought the weird taste was the tomatoes, so I took them all out, only to discover that the ranch had some weird taste to it. I couldn't identify what it was, but it was just off. Today my family ate at Applebees. We both ordered the 4 cheese mac and cheese; after trying the noodles realized they were cold. We asked for them to be heated and were told they couldn't take them back to heat them up because we touched the food. We were offered a free dessert, but did not make it right with our cold food. I'm not sure how we were supposed to know our food was cold without touching it. Poor management. read more

Genuinely a terrible experience all around, and the staff need to have some serious training on manners. 5 of us came in on my friend's 21st birthday for some appetizers, and so she could get a drink. When we walked in, after being sat, we were not greeted for about 15-20 mins, despite 2-3 servers walking around. They were also glaring at us from far away. Eventually the manager came out of the kitchen, chatted with a server, and walked over and asked us what we wanted. We asked for water, and before we could also for anything else, she walked away. She came back, dropped off the water, and immediately left again. About 5 minutes later, a server finally came up, leaned his elbows onto our table, and said, "what do you want?" We ordered apps, and our friend who just turned 21 ordered a drink. She gave him her ID that said today was her birthday, he stared at it confused for a few seconds, took it back to the kitchen, came back after about 5 minutes, and said nobody at our table would be served alcohol. We, understandably asked why, and he stammered, and then said he didnt have to serve us if he didnt feel comfortable. Seeing as he still had not rung in our appetizers, we left. There were overall multiple issues. First of all, after being sat, it took way too long for a server to come to our table. Secondly, multiple servers seemed to be glaring at us while we were waiting to be helped. The manager was the one who had to come out to get us water. The server who eventually helped us was short, leaned on our table, was rude, seemed unhappy we were there, refused to serve a single drink to our friend with a valid ID on her 21st birthday, and could not tell us why. read more

There was this one server when I went to eat lunch who was incredibly rude and mean to me. Her name was Alyson, and her attitude was unacceptable. I witnessed her being mean to her coworkers and yelling at them for things that seemed to be out of their control. As someone who has worked in customer service, a big part of the job is being nice to your coworkers. She was downright bullying her coworkers, especially a young lady who seemed to be a hostess. It's just in the process of reopening after being closed for a while. My son and I had lunch today. The server was very pleasant and attentive. My main complaint is that I ordered a steak to be medium and it was freaking well done. I didn't actively complain because I know they are currently working the kinks out of the re-opening. First time to an Applebee's after living in states for 4 years . That's late but glad I finally tried it and it was a good experience. Been here on Friday evening with co - workers as it is close by and being bored by Buffalo Wild Wings. Ordered couple of beers and appetizer platter and some other appetizers like onion rings and wings . The thing I liked the most is the attentiveness of the staff. They keep checking on you and suggest the better choices too. We went to Applebees on a Monday because they have a very nice veteran's discount. However, the bartender is so great. He is right on top of his game as well as has the best disposition. Makai is courteous and doesn't forget that you asked for little things like extra napkins or mayo on the side. The food was delicious too. Sorry...no pictures this time. read more

I ordered a couple appetizers and a drink food was great but glad I don't like straws as when I finished the soda delivered to me. Oh my...what a major disappointment. I use to come to this location all the time growing up. What happened? Walk in and the greeters are sitting down at some of the high tops not paying attention. Our waitress never brought A1 when she asked if we wanted steak sauce, put in broccoli instead of green beans, had the steak cooked medium rare instead of medium, and her use of the phrase "awesome sauce" summed up what kind of approach she had. Fortunately, the food was tasty. However, the service was some of the worst I have experienced in a very long time. read more

We are in this Applebees often to hang out and watch the Michigan game (or any game big game for that matter).They always offer sound for it too which isn't an option just anywhere. Attentive friendly staff with consistant food options. They always keep your beer full and never too crowded to find a place to actually sit. We recommend the 2 for 25! read more

I went to this Appleby's that reopened recently this year. All 4 of us were very disappointed when the food failed to arrive after almost 1 hour and no one ever came by to tell us why. When I finally asked the waitress, she stated that the cooking staff was shorthanded that day. One would think the greeter would have informed us when we came in, just in case we had time constraints. Or at least, the waitress should have told us as she would have known of the issue as we had arrived past the lunch hour. Where was the manager who should have been aware of the situation and taken steps if customer service was any concern? When we said we had to leave, the waitress went to check inside and came out telling us the food was coming out in a few minutes. At least that was true and, surprisingly, the food was acceptable - judged by the usual Appleby standard. I suggest anyone coming here first inquire about the wait time before sitting down. read more

This was my first time to Applebee's and I'm a bit indifferent about my experience there. The service was pretty decent - we had one server but when I needed to talk to a server, people would come over and take my order. I was super happy that I was able to check in on yelp and get a free appetizer with a purchase of a drink. Kinda disappointed cause the soft drink was $2.79 or so and we never got a refill (tbh, I'm not even sure if we could get refills). I like how they have 2/$20 so we had an app and 2 entrees. The appetizers were delicious. However the entrees weren't the best. The chicken I got was super heavy. After 3 bites, I felt overwhelmed with the taste and how heavy it was. My boyfriend got the burger and there were too many flavors. There was the delicious beef patty but then also a beer taste. It was all so overwhelming. I enjoyed the service but the food was okay. Once I got home, I felt gross and drowsy due to the heavy food. I probably wont be coming back. :( read more

Can never go wrong with the 2 for 20. Service was fast and friendly. Surprised it wasn't busier as there was half off apps when we were there as well. I worked at an Applebee's for a long time so I don't stop in too often but I'm rarely disappointed when I do. This place charged my credit card twice and I have a 25.00 gift card that was never taken off so watch your bills. I'm going to assume the waitress stole it for herself. I must admit, I regret going to Applebee's... I haven't been there in ages and had an opportunity to have a dinner with a friend... walked in and got seated. The waitress came and asked what I wanted to drink, got water. So for dinner, we decided to do the 2 for $20 deal... for appetizer we ordered the buffalo wings (hot), I got the 7 oz. Sirloin steak with mixed vegetables and my friend got the chicken fingers. We gout our boneless buffalo wings, in addition to the hot sauce, they sprinkled some extra hot seasoning on top... who can go wrong, frying up frozen boneless chicken, saucing it up and serving it with two dipping sauces? I got my dish and I had asked for mixed vegetables with my steak... what did they give me? Two large broccoli and one 7 oz. undercooked steak... the meat was light brown and inside was pure red... I had asked for medium... the meat was hard to cut into... yeah, sent the meat back and they cooked it further... when it returned, the steak was brown and looked cooked and I was able to slice it.... having gone through this experience, I'm unwilling to order steaks from establishments like Applebee's (granted I won't be going back for long time), Chili's, etc... Overall, while their menu's have gone though many changes, for me Applebee's is on the bottom of the list compare to TGIF's, Chili's, etc. read more

Food is blah but can't beat the $4 margarita's!

I am just now trying my first Southwest Chicken bowl from the Ann Arbor Carpenter location. This location has never had consistent food quality. The rice in this bowl is unercooked and it is full of yukky, whitish iceberg lettuce. I used to go to the Eisnhower location at least 3x a month where the food was much better. They closed that location and sadly it looks like my Applebees days might be over. read more

I'll start by saying there are 4 of us and we all feel the same...Under impressed. It's sad that every set of silverware was dirty, most of our the food was cold, hair in the dip after getting halfway through it, steak totally undercooked. Someone in the kitchen is just going through the motions. I need people to serve others the way they want to be served. Speaking of, our actual server (Trey) was great! Very attentive and timely. I have not once had a positive experience here. Here are 3 separate examples over a 3 year period: 1. Ordered to-go inside the restaurant. The bartender sent me to a side door so that I can place my order with a carside-to-go server. The server didn't know the menu and started to charge me for dinner items when I specifically ordered from the lunch menu. In the middle of her taking my order, she took a phone call which lasted over 10 minutes while I just stood there and waited. I finally placed my order and went to the bar to wait. At this point, I could have really used a drink but the bartender, who had no customers, never once asked me if I wanted anything. 2. Carside to go: Ordered 2 things: steak done medium and chicken parm. They said 15 minutes. I got there 20 minutes later. I sat there for an additional 20 minutes sitting at the parking only to come home to find that BOTH items were wrong. They packed a steak pasta and grilled chicken. 3. Dined inside: My boyfriend ordered jim beam and ginger ale. It came in a small glass that looked like a shotglass and the color was near-clear like vodka and tonic. There was no liquor, and hardly any ginger ale. It was more like water and ice with golden food coloring. We ordered the appetizer sampler which had mozarella sticks and spinach artichoke dip. Mozarella sticks tasted like it had been fried 3 hours ago and the spinach artichoke dip tasted like it had been sitting on the stove for 3 hours as well. Needless to say, this restaurant isn't good for carry out, carside to go, or for dining in. Avoid it. read more
