I'm officially giving up on this place Service has gone beyond awful, place is dirty and bathrooms you can't even stand up in because floor is so greasy (use a clean mop)... worst part is the declining production from the kitchen. Applebee's has been my dream Thursday evening for the past year. Little did I know, upon waking this rainy January morning, my dreams would come true. The team assembled (my friends kara and raymond) and piled into a Volkswagen Passat. We arrived at the blessed land at promptly 6:12 pm. After being seated immediately we were greeted by a tall man with pierced ears. Who would've thought he would be my hero, Andrew H. This man, brought us many drinks with little to no judgement. When I asked him to judge a picture of a young Joe Biden he said, and I quote, "Good lookin' guy". He is a Pisces so beware of that, however if you're into that, go get him. Bottom line the service was impeccable, the drinks (specifically the Tipsy Snowman because it comes with gummy rings) were tasty and cheap, and the wings are better than bdubbs. Terrible, If I could give 0 stars I would!!! This place is a ripoff! The food is mediocre at best, salty, soup tastes like came out of a can. Panera's across the street is way better and more flavorful for a lot less. Mall food would be a much better choice than this. Service was very slow and inefficient. Not that our waitress wasn't sweet but she kept forgetting things like utensils, pepper, my soup:/ For 4 people, 3 of us ordered soup and salad only and one had an entree, over $50. It's a shame that this place even stays n business. And what's with the electronic method of payment? I don't want to have to work to pay for my food. It was not user friendly, frustrating, impersonal...and by the way, you can buy games to play on it if you want to give them more of your hard earned money. When you pull up in the parking lot and the bartender and 2 other employees come out from beside the dumpster and bushes coughing, from token on the reefer. They should at least have enough common sense to not to Cheech and Chong up wind of the front door. Obviously, they are not seasoned smokers with such a rookie move. Well we go inside and get seated right by the rear emergency door. The bartender and other 2 come strolling in the back door smelling like straight South Alabama ooh-wee. Which would be cool if I was going to a rave but I wasn't, I was going to dinner with my wife and kid. Then we had to sit by the employee table and listen to the blab about their boss being s***** and "getting f****** up" while they rolled utensils. The water taste like wild wild root juice and the taste like some kind of swamp water. The food was sub-par with burnt chicken and the cheese sticks was 2 for 6 on cheese on the inside. Wife said the blowed bartender made a decent mixed drink but still only had 3 sodas to choose from. So they get 2 stars, one for participation and one for the mixed drink. read more

If I could give 0 starts, I would. No one was at door so we had to seat ourselves. When they noticed, the servers started complaining LOUDLY about us. We waited a few more minutes, knowing that they saw us, but still no service. It's very clear as to why the dining room was empty. Do not waste your time. read more

My son has been begging to go this past week to Applebee's so wenfinally went. At first, it was just like any other restaurant. However, when we ordered we waited for more than an hour!! We asked about it and they said they wiuld bring out the manager. So we waited for another ten minutes, but still nothing!! We went to the kitchen ourselves and asked where he was. They insisted he was going to be out right away, but we ended up waiting another 15 minutes!! We ended not seeing him at all because we left. However, we expect an apology from then and especially Branden, the manager. Never goong ever again and would never recommend to anyone we know. What a waste of time!! Last night was our first visit to this restaurant. IT WILL DEFINITELY BE OUR LAST. Started with a server that didn't know the menu and couldn't answer questions. When the meals arrived, two of the three were wrong. Should have anticipated this based upon the servers lack of knowledge. One was close but the other was not in the ballpark. Took forever and multiple requests to get it corrected. A manager discussion was requested. She came to our table, offered many excuses and said she would take care of the bill. She also suggested we should come back on a week night for better service. Should not make a difference. We won't go back. Overall it was terrible experience. read more

It's a chain restaurant. I know that. Yet, I still had hopes of a good lunch. First, though, I had to ask the waiter for a new knife since mine has something left on it from its pass (I hope) through the dishwasher. He replaced it quickly, but didn't at all seemed surprised that I'd had that problem. Hmmm. Ordered the Shrimp and Island Rice. It came with three skewers of grilled shrimp over white rice plus 'seasonal vegetables.' The shrimp was fine if a bit oversauced. The vegetables were warm and *should* have been steamed. Nope. The carrots were so hard, I had to use a knife to cut them and the broccoli was crunchy. Why do some restaurants have such a hard time with the concept of steaming vegetables? Steamed veggies are soft and favorful, not hard and chewy, The rice's claim to being citrus flavored was the inclusion of several pieces of mandarin orange. Never found a bite of pineapple in it. They did not have any Pinot Grigio, a light white wine, and instead brought me a glass of Pinot Noir, a dry red wine. Didn't ask, just brought. Hey, I guess Pinot is Pinot. I drank it...not bad, just not what I ordered. Overall, unless you just want pub grub or a beer, I'd go elsewhere. read more

Horrible! I got take-out and ordered an oriental chicken salad and french onion soup. The salad was made with all iceberg lettuce. I've ordered this before elsewhere and it is usually made with salad greens. The portion size was less than a 2-year old would eat. The french onion soup was only about 1/4 cup soup with a huge mat of tasteless bread-like material on top of that, and thick, unedible cheese! I ate what I could, but was still starving and had to go and buy myself another complete meal from elsewhere. I paid the price of a full meal for this crap and didn't notice the horrible quality until I got home. I live about 15 minutes away so didn't go back to complain, but vowed to never go there again. read more

Went here for the "margarita night". Literally just water with a teaspoon of tequila. Also horrendous service-especially since our waitress made us use that electronic tablet thing (which didn't work) to order food. Caesar salad was absolutely revolting. Literally just a fourth of a lettuce head, unchopped, with "dressing" sprayed over it haphazardly. This chain deserves to die, and it is a miracle that this particular location is still open. read more

We walked in the door. Went straight to the bar and proceeded to sit there for over 5 minutes without anyone even speaking to us once we sat down. At one point the manager walked behind the bar and carried on a conversation with an employee rather that even acknowledging our existence. Tried to get a $20 dollar meal for two and a $25 meal for two. We had a party of eleven. Told the waitress we had a hour before we needed to be at a band concert. Ordered side salads had to settle for ranch no thousand island dressing. It took a hour to get two salads then no silverware then got the other two. We said we will just pay for what we got and will go. They just told us it is on the house and it was the middle of a shift change. All good excuses but we will not be back. read more

Just had the 2 for $25 at Applebee's and mortified to discover a starbursts wrapper under my babyback ribs Needless to say manager did come out and stated he didn't know how that could have happened because workers are not allowed to eat in his kitchen. Nevertheless he did remove that item from our ticket but I had eaten over half the entree before discovering this trash in my food. Faith in eating out has been destroyed again. omg. never never never would i eat at this location again. the salad i got literally had 6 bites of steak on it & was the size of a side salad. nothing like the picture on the menu. another member of our party got cajun chicken & shrimp. there was literally 5 tiny shrimp on the chicken. again nothing like menu picture. shrimp was barely cooked & i had finished my meal before the chicken and shrimp arrived at the table. i am still smh this morning in disbelief. i ate at this location 10 years ago & said i would not go back again. just didn't like the atmosphere. food was okay. everything was horrible this time. didn't complain. was afraid they would do something to the shrimp chicken dish. which hadnt arrived at table. it took probably 15min. to get to table. price was outrageous for portion size. only ate there because we had a gift card. thought i would give it one more try. gift card will be given away if i ever get another one. yes that bad. read more

Worst eating experience ever!!! To begin with the place was not very busy, but we still had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. After we were seated it took another 15 minutes for the waitress to take our drink and food order. Another 20 minutes before we got our waters (which had particles floating in them) and at least 20 minutes after that before the appetizer was delivered. We were NEVER visited any other time. We ended up asking for our entrees to go so we could just get out of there (and they also took forever to be delivered). We are pretty easy people to please, but this visit was unacceptable. read more

This is the worst Applebee's I've ever been to. I ordered sweet tea and it was disgusting and sour. So I ordered green bean crushers and it was completely overcooked! I ordered the fiesta lime chicken and for some reason they put the tortillas underneath a HOT chicken which made it disgustingly soggy and I could not even eat it. The rice was completely dry!! Also every time I made a request, service was completely slow and the place was not even crowded. So I do NOT recommend this Applebee's to anyone in Auburn. I took my teenage son (16) to this Applebees and we ordered off the lunch menu (no crowd)- 2 for 25. The waitress brought us our tea, then came back every 5 seconds to get our order. After placing the order, we then waited another 20 minutes for appetizers. I thought I would never get another refill on my tea but finally after setting the glass at the end of the table, she took my hint. I had ordered grilled chicken and my son ordered the 6 oz steak meal. Another 30 or 40 minutes went by. Our waitress brought our plates and she sat my sons plate in front of him. I wanted to laugh, I thought it was a joke. She looked embarrassed, I guess my face showed what I thought of this. The steak had shrunk to about a 2 oz, dried out and nasty. Then he had a teaspoon of potatoes and that was it. No bread, I mean really, how much is a piece of bread? I had to share my measley meal with him. We were still very hungry when we left, our bill was $32 plus tip. DON'T ORDER THE 6oz steak, and don't expect to be full when you leave. Very disappointed. read more
