OH MY cheese burger (Where is the cheese?!?!)

I downloaded yelp just to leave this review.......the food was horrible (did not look like advertised at all). The only thing worse was the service. Appetizer delivered before drinks, refills never received, sauce never brought, then when refills were finally brought they were spilt on the floor and then only one of the four drinks was refilled and brought back. Ambiance had chips all over the floor (no chips were ordered). If someone was starving I would tell them to stay away from this establishment.

Grilled chicken. The plate looks a little bare huh. Perhaps more broccoli would have helped.

We were concerned because it was lunch time and there weren't many people here. Apparently, they have new management for about a year. That being said, we were sat a table immediately. The waitress was also fast and friendly. I had a 6 oz steak with broccoli and fried. The steak was cooked perfectly, the broccoli was good. The fries were a little old, but the waitress quickly replaced them with freshly cooked fries. My wife had the grilled chicken, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. Her only issue was she wanted a little more butter for her potatoes. We were disappointed in the lack of diet beverages. They only have Diet Pepsi. I would be happy to see one or two more options. The ambiance was quiet since there were few people there. The overhead music was not too loud either. I was able to converse with my wife easily.

    Flies on the table

Dirty restaurant. We were seated in a sticky booth covered in flies. We literally swatted them away through our entire visit. Kids Mac n cheese was dry and burnt, my son didn't touch it. Plates the food was served on were covered in smudges and fingerprints on them. One upside was the service. Our service was fast and the server, Tyla, was pleasant, attentive and helpful. Won't be back, unfortunately.

Well another week end is upon us so here we go to Opelika nest auburn university. My heart goes out to the auburn tigers as my money and my daughter attended university there. I am proud to say she obtained a PhD in microbiology (so she is OHD pretty hot Doctor). Anyway stopped here after a golf day at 1699. Boy was it hit and humid 60%. See picture Anyway we got in for happy hour and a cool drink. They had appetizers 50 % off, much cheaper then the golf club and I am all in about cheapens. Mallory behind the bar was entertaining. Lots of tv so would. Be great to see a football SEC GAME.

Very good service, the food was excellent and our waiter Miss Kinzie was very good. I would recommend coming back to this restaurant we are from out of town and I've had several experiences with other Applebee's, this one topped it. It was amazing.

If I had to go to a family chain restaurant for the rest of my life, I would go to Applebee's. Each restaurant has their own happy hour specials all are conveniently timed that actually aligns with most schedules. However, it does make me sad that they display their nutrition facts. Unless if you're eating broccoli for dinner or grilled seafood with no dressing, every entree runs into the thousands. The 2 for $24 combo consisted of the spinach artichoke dip, ribs and fries, and the shrimp combo platter. My favorite item was the blackened shrimp over the almond rice pilaf with the herb & ale scampi sauce. It sounds fancy but essentially, it's seasoned shrimp mixed with limey goo over rice. The spinach and the pepper relish on the sides were a nice addition. Fries are always good here. The spinach artichoke dip was creamy but there is never enough to go around.

    Spooky sips!

This place is delish!! Wow just passing through Auburn and stopped to eat! I saw the antlers in…read morethe door and said to myself, "This is it"! Hensley our bartender was phenomenal and great service! It's great when I travel around and nice people are part of your day! The bar is beau tile and the cattle skulls made in Bali! The food was delish. I got the Cuban Fried Porkchop hoagie!! I loved the local recipes and very crisp. Fries OMG the flavor! If you ever come through Auburn this is a stop!! Salute!!

If you're looking for a place that feels like a high-end hunting lodge married a modern restaurant…read moreand raised a family of delicious food and strong drinks, The Hound is your spot. I started off with the Moon Over Madagascar, and let me tell you--if this drink had a fan club, I'd be president. The black tea and vanilla combo sounded like a weird dare at first, but it ended up being shockingly amazing. Whoever came up with that mix deserves a bonus and maybe a parade. Now, let's talk about the shrimp and grits, because these were not just "good." These were "call your mama and tell her you've tasted greatness" good. The chef is from South Carolina, and you can taste every bit of Lowcountry pride in that bowl. Perfectly cooked grits? Check. Pile of blackened shrimp? Double check. A sauce that made me rethink my entire life? Oh yeah. If they sold that sauce by the gallon, I'd be bankrupt but extremely happy. Erica, our waitress, was an absolute rockstar. Super helpful, incredibly informative, and somehow managed to keep the perfect balance of friendly and professional--even on the Sunday after the Iron Bowl, when half of Auburn is stress-eating. The place was spotless too, which is impressive considering the emotional damage that game causes every year. Bottom line: The Hound is a must-visit. Come hungry, order boldly, and thank me later.
