I ordered the Ultimate Trio from Applebees to be delivered by Door Dash. I got the Double Crunch Shrimp, Riblets & Chicken Quesadillas. I have always been happy with Applebees, but not this time. Hustling down the highway late evening leaves very few options for a decent, non-fast food meal. Applebee's is merely a sit down for fast food with the addition of spirits. The kitchen was still open at 10p and that's what mattered. Staffing was full so we expected to grab a meal and be out of there lickety split. Unfortunately we were given a newer waitress. She was very apologetic but so, very, slow to address needs. When a customer is seated, dress the table! Flatware, napkins and water glasses should be the start always. Even after appetizers hit the table we had to flag someone down to get the basics. Plates, cutlery, napkins and drinking water. We were simply shaking our heads. It felt as if, other waitresses were annoyed we wouldn't wait for our waitress to address needs. But if she walks away and never returns, what the heck are we supposed to do??!! It took quite a time to get water and drinks. Dinner service was rough and getting necessary items seemed more tedious than it needed to be. On top of the poor servicing, there was one waitress that kept giving me odd looks. I have never been to this Applebee's. (I don't think) Ultimately we realized we should have gone elsewhere. Poor meal. Poor experience. It is what it is. Just have to plan the road better for next time. Also, why was the Men's room under water? As if the urinals had been backing up. I haven't been to Applebee's in forever so we decided to come in for dinner. Unfortunately, this year our anniversary fell on prom night so our original place we wanted to go had a 30 minute wait and Applebee's only had a 15 minute wait. We got free breadsticks for our checkin offer of a free app. Our server was super nice and told us about their new drinks. I got the tipsy shark and my husband got a similar drink but I honestly don't remember what it was (it was red, part of their macho drink menu, and came with a cherry and orange slice). He did end up wishing he got the tipsy shark as well but his drink was also good. I got the crispy orange chicken bowl for my entree while my husband got the riblet platter. I honestly wish my bowl had more rice but they made up with it by putting in lots of chicken. I usually like to go to somewhere new or support a small business, but when it comes to national brands, Applebee's is up there as one of my favorites. If you need to go somewhere you know you'll find something you like, this Applebee's won't disappoint. I've never had a bad meal and their staff is always kind. read more

Food was decent. I am on cutting and was able to order some macro friendly meals. Got the chicken and shrimp sizzling plate without the butter . Pretty tasty. Last night got the 8oz top sirloin. Where to start..... We decide to give applebees a try and boy we should have went to McDonalds. The waitress was very loud then she was moving so fast she got my order wrong. That really wasn't a big deal but to her it was. She went in the kitchen and you could hear many loud laughs I really didn't care because she was wrong. Then she had another waitress bring back the right item. She has black hair with two pink stripes in the front (just incase anyone wants to know lol) she started nice but was super unprofessional we didn't even get asked if we wanted a refill on a drink. Really sad because we both was gonna give her 10 bucks each for a tip. I've never had a bad experience with the staff until today. Never going back and the food was cooked fast and tasted burnt. I did not at all enjoy my dining experience; how do you wreck a cheeseburger and Bahama Mamma cocktail? The answer is easy: cook the burger so we'll done that it's dry as old leather, and add so much grenadine or simple syrup that it taste like you added a half cup each! Add in the exceptionally loud music and ruckus at crowd (I think the bar is used as the local lounge rather than as a waiting area for dining patrons), and you can have this place despite the OUTSTANDING SERVICE (Thanks Sarah C and greeters). read more

This particular Applebee's is my fiance and mine's favorite. It's usually clean and the food is usually prepared to our liking. The one thing I haven't gotten used too though is being passed up to be seated while others that arrive after we did are. This happens routinely when we go. The one is generous trust me. Our waitress was great buttttttt I ordered the French onions soup- was ok just ok. I ordered new smokey mozzarella ravioli with chicken. Three of the ravioli were so HARD I tapped my knife on them & it literally clinked. It was totally unchewable even and this is coming from someone who loves year old Peeps. Weird thing is they were barely warm . The chicken was barely warm but tasted ok. The breadstick was marginal. I asked for manager he came and I clinked the ravioli for him, told him the whole thing was barely warm so how could ravioli be overdone to the hardness state. He offered another one & I said no thank you. Offered anything else, again no thank you (was really disappointed we'd not been to this Applebee's in years cuz of bad food), offered me dessert, again no thank you (I turned down dessert?? What the heck) He took the meal off the bill, I ate the breadstick and was glad I'd gotten soup. Hubby had chicken tender plate. The chicken was heavily breaded. Hubby wasn't impressed. The Applebee's is located conveniently on the corner of a major road. Easy access to get too and the parking lot is very spacious to get through. The entrance is a little rough to the building be careful you do not trip on the sidewalk sticking up. The greeter took a few minutes cause they was also busing tables. Being short handed I understood. The portion sizing I was not happy with as Applebee's used to have good portions and good drinks. I felt the drinks were stiffed too. Skipped over us when three parties arrived and we were second. Took FOREVER to take our orders, or bring any order out. Our $10 bucket drinks had no alcohol, or very little that it tasted like just juice. And none of it seems like an accident after we were visibly upset they skipped over us, like the hostess told the staff to treat us bad on purpose. Horrible experience with the hostess. Also the people who came third got served a bit later as they were waiting for MORE people. In total, after 10-15 mins they were seated. I am so disappointed at my neighborhood Applebee's! I've been a loyal customer since they opened their doors. Lately, the prices have been higher but the food not fresh at all! Today I had stale fries and mediocre riblets. When I asked the server if the fries were fresh or made earlier, she replied as I expected. Made earlier and dumped in a bucket. You mean my business is not worth fresh, hot fries! The riblets were fatty and tasted like they had been made the day or two before! Oh well! I'll keep my money next time but I can't hide my dismay. I was very pleased and surprised by the quality of food and hospitality at this chain restaurant. Leslie was great as a waitress and she informed me that there was a core group of employees that had worked there for over 10 years. One of those that day was the man on the grill. My broccoli and bourbon chicken was exceptionally seasoned and prepared that way that it was meant to be. The majority of the restaurant was empty and it took us 20 minutes to get a hostess to even acknowledge we were standing there. The bartender made eye contact, two waitresses made eye contact and no one said anything for 20 minutes. It is a chain that does a fairly good job of keeping its food fresh, and well balanced. You can most of the time know exactly what to expect food and service wise. This store exceeds my expectations most times, and tonight it did it again. Our group was 15+ and we were seated quickly for such a large group, and our waitress was fast efficient and kept our drinks filled and order correct and was pleasantly helpful. I feel like Applebees is one of those places that you either love or hate and we love it for late night appetizers! After going bowling, we stopped in for some 1/2 off apps before heading back to our hotel and we enjoyed it. I personally liked the pretzels and beer cheese, we tried a little bit of everything! We had a great server in the bar area who was bubbly and positive, and the restaurant was crowded which is always a good sign for a food establishment. (It means they are turning product quick enough to keep it fresh!) no qualms about this visit and we'll keep it in mind when we come back next year! read more

This is my third trip to an Applebee's in less than a month. Which is not a regular thing for me. This has only occurred for many reasons. Long story short, my parents and I went to a location in Granger, IN while out Christmas shopping to grab a quick lunch. It was awful, from the service to the food. I ended up speaking to the district manager on the phone, who was very understanding and sent me coupons for the locations in Indiana (we live in Michigan) While in Indiana the following week, we used them at a different location (Ireland Rd in South Bend) That was actually a really great experience from food to service and I will be letting them know via Yelp) So that brings me to our location. We have gone many times over many years for. Happy hour And quick bite after we have had some good experiences but it can be a "chain hit or miss" and this one was a definite miss. My little sister got a gift card for Christmas so she wanted to use it. Hubs and I met my family there on a Friday at 330 (just started the Happy Hour rush and the 12.99$ AYCE promotion that the guys we're looking forward to. Our server was nice, but as the visit went on, she seemed frazzled. Or maybe just distracted and not at all listening. Actually the whole place seemed a bit frazzled. The food took forever, as did refills and many small requests (like extra napkins or a sauce) we had to ask numerous times. The tables around us all asked for managers. We did not but should've. The last plate the hubs and dad ordered had half quantity wise of a normal order. We asked for the ribs for my dad 5x and we still left never receiving the ribs. That was after waiting 20 min for that plate. We let it go, but all and all that trip was an absolute bust. It was not all on my sisters gift card, so in the end we ended up paying well over 50$ for a less than stellar Friday Family Dinner experience. I still have coupons for the hopefully positive one in Indiana and it will be worth the drive not to go back to my local one for a while. My take away from this is: the AYCE can get chaotic on the wrong night, keep your patience and the pretzel breadsticks are really good if you get them right when they are piping hot. Their menu has almost every food out there, I personally think they should get really good at a few things and stick with that. The place is kinda dirty especially the bathrooms last time I went in there was a sticky substance all over the floor. You will either get good service or bad. It 50/50. I come here as per requested by my clients but to be completely honest, this restaurant chain would not be on my list of choices. Ever since I discovered the majority of their menu is already pre-cooked, pre-packaged and is merely reheated in the microwave (as was proven when my chicken was served with the melted plastic wrapper still on it) I have not willingly come back for food services. I am content to order either a soup or the chicken wonton tacos as my meal because when you ask the cook to leave out the bacon in almost all of their dishes, the server come back to tell you they cannot, because the bacon is already mixed in with the sauces. Me and my daughter came out for lunch today it was not busy at all and I was expecting to have a good experience but instead the young lady who was waiting on us did a terrible job. She never wrote down our order she did not bring us plates with our appetizers we waited five minutes for someone else to bring them she only came back to the table one time before it was time to come back and give us a check and give us boxes. She even had the nerve to say that she was busy seating other people that's why she forgot our plates. When clearly she was not busy she only had three other tables and I never once seen her running around doing anything that remotely looked like she was busy. I am a waitress myself and where I work I get drinks I make their salads I take out their food and I also box their food for them I do everything and I'm always busy with 4 to 6 tables at a time. The waitresses at Applebee's have it made and there is no reason for them not to be able to give good service. Other than the fact that they just suck at it and unfortunately this young lady was not good I'm sorry to have to say. I honestly did not want to leave her a tip at all but I did not feel like waiting any longer to get any change back so she ended up getting $3.75 from me and my bill was $61. Now if she would've been a good server I would've left her 20 bucks. I gave a good rating because overall Applebee's is a good place to go and I usually have a wonderful time but unfortunately this was not one of them. read more

Went for a salad. The greeter was terrific! However, the service was ridiculous. My salad was dry of dressing and the waitress didn't return for 15 minutes. In the meantime, the bread stick didn't show until much later. I was able to get the greeter's attention who brought me my dressing. Waitstaff needs to do better!
