We visit this area at least twice a year and each time, for years, we have at least one meal at Cracker Barrel. Have always loved the old timey feel and an opportunity for a little shopping as well as family style food. Today was a huge disappointment. As we were walking to our table, I slid across the greasy floor and thought to myself how glad I was that I hadn't taken my aged mother as she could have easily slipped and fallen. We sat near the window so the lighting was good enough to notice that every table and chair needed a good scrubbing with soap. The waitress came to take our orders and was pleasant enough. When our food arrived, my eggs were perfectly cooked, but must have been made before the chicken fried chicken because they were very cold. The chicken fried chicken was warm but not hot, however it also was cooked nicely, not dry at all. The biscuits were fluffy, warm and lovely. All in all, I am saddened by the restaurant's inattention to cleanliness, makes me nervous about what I can't see, like the kitchen. Come on Cracker Barrel, you can do better. We'd love to feel confident about returning to your establishment next time we visit. read more

Always love Cracker Barrel. We stopped here on our way from Michigan to Chicago. The service was amazing. Our server Kim was spectacular. The food was so delicious. I come to this Cracker Barrel pretty often. I get the same order everytime. 2 orders of chicken dumplings with the 3 extra sides of okra. Totaling to 6. I don't know if they can count or what, but everytime without fail, I never get my 6 sides of okra I paid extra for. I always get 5. Or sometimes even just 4. Disappointing. You can't go wrong with a Cracker Barrel. This place is a staple. It's all over Florida and it was nice to have a good breakfast. The one thing I like about Cracker Barrel is that they serve lunch at breakfast time which is perfect for my husband since he doesn't like breakfast food the staff is very much accommodating and he enjoyed his meal. We were there on a Friday morning and the ambience was nice and quiet and they keep us a place nice and warm considering that it was winter over in Michigan. read more

Order was incorrect...ordered double mashed potatoes, got double corn instead. Waitress had to go correct the order. Had to wait for biscuits, but they were never delivered to table. Meatloaf was dry...not moist. Mashed potatoes were too lumpy (usually they are more creamy). Potatoes and gravy were overly peppered. Online payment app would not work properly (no place to record name on CC when paying as guest...caused payment to be declined. Line for payment was about 10-15 minute wait. Pay attention to customers when they are seated. The greeter were seated us at 8:30pm and were told that they seated people till 9pm. He also said that they were slow and we got there at a good time. We waited 20 minutes without being approached by a single sever. Several servers walked past us, but no one stopped to ask us if we've been helped. 15 minutes is my usual boiling point without service, however my daughter was really looking forward to their chicken and dumplings so I gave it another 5 minutes before walking out. Do better Cracker Barrel Stevensville. Do better! As we were leaving the restaurant, I stopped at the front desk and let them know that nobody had waited on us for 20 minutes. Rude. They couldnt give a table of 5 an extended table but another family came in and got an extended table. When we tried to cash out to purchase something from the general store, the lady took her sweet time having a conversation with someone instead of tending to us at the register. Instead, we left the items at the desk and left. This establishment could do so much better. Half of the restaurant had no AC at all, which was odd. The eggs had no flavor, you have to ask for the pancakes crispy for them to be cooked thoroughly, they'll be soggy otherwise. The waiter poured the coffee without warning of the splash it would make. No apology given. I ought to send the worst of the worst patrons to dine in here because simply saying this establishment will never see my business again would not satisfy me enough. read more

This is the second time I've ever been to Cracker Barrel. The first time was years ago and I didn't see the need to come back, until a friend invited me to a meeting over brunch. After this particular visit, I remembered why I did not return after those years...there's absolutely nothing for vegans! (Okay maybe the fruit, but I'm not paying $4 for a very small bowl of fruit when I can buy more fruit for $4 at the grocery store...overpriced and small quantity.) I even tried ordering a special where you can pick a number of sides that I thought would be vegan, but no....The turnip greens had ham in them, the beans had ham in them. All I could manage to eat was the mashed potatoes and probably the deep fried brussel sprouts, I think it was. I was horrified that I was accidentally eating ham. Note to the owners, if your menu does not specify that supposed vegan options have ham in them, you need to make that known! I only found out after the fact...that is when I tasted something foreign and strange and to my disgust it was ham! My meal was ruined and I was traumatized. read more

I would give this restaurant negative stars if I could. My family and I waited 20 minutes just for drinks. I ordered a water and an orange juice, but my water didn't arrive until much later. During this time, three groups who were seated after us received their food, ate, and left before we even got our meals. It took 35 minutes between receiving our drinks and finally getting our food, and when it did arrive, almost everything was wrong. I did not receive my meal at all. Unfortunately, the manager was unhelpful, and our waitress was as well. The hostess, however, was kind and attentive. This was not an isolated incident. We have had multiple poor experiences here, and this visit was the last straw. Never coming here again. I normally do not write reviews, but I felt it was important to share our experience. If you want breakfast, I recommend heading to AM Cafe instead. read more

It was very busy today at 2 in the afternoon so there was a 15 min wait. We came to eat with my daughter and we planned to do a late breakfast but they had new menus and lots of new options. She decided on the chocolate chip pancakes and I had the pot roast. The moot roast was very well season and filled with meat that just fell apart. It was a great choice and I would get it again. Her pancakes were just as good as they always are. Juwanna was our waitress and was very pleasant and made sure to keep checking on us to see if we needed anything. I also took two of the $5 meals of meatloaf with a side of Mac n cheese to go for our lunches tomorrow. read more

When I came in to gwt my togo I was ignored so that didnt start off well as my first impression. Even though my food was sitting there getting cold, they kept checking out more and more people. Get the food home, mind you I love right across the street, and everything is hard. The biscuits were so hard all the gravy they gave me didnt help. They gave me and extra side of gravy. The cooks must of known the biscuits needed it. Everytime I decide to give this location another try, the give me horrible service, bad food, or both. Cracker Barrel has gone downhill so fast. I was so excited to eat at a Cracker Barrel since it's been years. Today's special was the Turkey and dressing with sweet potato casserole. Sounded so good and I was so excited. When the server came over you could tell that she wasn't interested in being here or in me. She rattled off her speech asked what I wanted to drink and I gave her my order. With in a few minutes she plopped this down in front of me and it was like eating a salt lick TV dinner. I asked for cranberry sauce after eating for her to come around @10 minutes. She said sure and walked away abut 5 minutes later she came back and said they ran out of cranberry sauce. Just before I was finish she returned with cranberry sauce and said her manager found some????? The turkey was dry and hard, the dressing was gritty and the sweet potato casserole had soggy nuts in it and I got a special gift a twig in my casserole. Everyone seemed busy but I wouldn't recommend eating here. I spoke to the manager and he just at the same meal and felt the same way. There was no charge. I'm thankful! read more

My family of 4 walked in on a rainy Tuesday afternoon at about 4:50, and was greeted nicely by hostess. We were instantly taken to a table. The restaurant was NOT busy at all. While sitting, we saw several servers and were not approached once in 15 minutes. With the restaurant being so slow, and the section were sitting in so vacant I'd have expected to be at least been greeted by the server. Nothing. The section we sat in had one other table (3 people) than ours, that's a total of two tables for one server. After 15 minutes, we decided to walk out. Very disappointing. read more

The inside ls nice and the shop has a lot of things. The service is good and the biscuits are amazing.

I placed a to go order for their chicken and rice Monday special and when I got home I noticed that they put the wrong gravy on the chicken,just a pan gravy and not the mushroom gravy that is supposed to come on it. I called and talked to the kitchen and the lady was very nice and apologetic and offered to make me a new plate and for me to keep the one I had. When I got to the restaurant the new order was ready and the cashier apologized to me and thanked me for being so nice about the error. This was great customer service IMO and more like the old Cracker Barrel that I used to frequent before the food quality and portions went downhill after COVID. This place is always packed. They seat you back to back, literally the back of your chair touching the back of the chair of the table next to you. If you ask for something else, they will accommodate you, but won't give you a server I think out of spite. We have walked out on two separate occasions for waiting so long just to get drink orders in. So my husband and I order to go now if we eat here. We have ordered twice now. First time was dinner and they didn't have anything available when coming to pick up so we had to reorder and wait an hour in store for it. Then this morning we got breakfast. I have never felt so disappointed in a meal before. I got two egg breakfast and a side or biscuits and gravy. My eggs werent done properly and so gross. Hashbrowns had a weird texture and tasteless. The biscuits were so hard you could get a fork through them. The gravy was bland but was better after adding seasoning at home. The sausage patties were almost burnt and tasted like deer meat or like a beef jerky, was so odd. The staff is just okay, but can be pretty rude at times, definitely at the register. With how many mess ups, bad food, and all round bad experiences I will no longer be coming to this location besides the gift shop. read more

I used to come to this cracker barrel all the time and always got either the rainbow trout or blueberry pancakes. I moved a couple years ago and am visiting and was really craving some blueberry pancakes but they weren't on the menu anymore unfortunately. Besides that the food was tasty and the staff were all very friendly. All the staff had on masks but some including our waitress didn't have them covering their noses. I heard one customer telling the waitress that she should have the mask covering her nose and she replied that she couldn't breathe very well with it on properly. read more

What a fabulous road side stop after a long drive. My wife is from the US so she talks about Cracker Barrel all the time but as a Canadian, I didn't really understand the concept. The store was really interesting with items that I would never buy because our styles are different but the candy, chocolate and toys were a hit. For such small square footage our kids would not leave-and it offered a great distraction as we waiting for our table for 7. Food was very good and comforting. I had the fried chicken that was tasty but the star was the sides. Fried okra was fantastic, and so were the apples. Biscuits and corn bread were warm and fresh. Kids didn't like the Mac and Cheese but we thought it was fine. Overall the concept while dated, is routed in American history..and as a Canadian now I understand the appeal. For a long road trip it is not a fast pit stop but an extended point of relaxation and good food. Also service was super friendly and they engaged and had fun interactions with our kids which was nice. read more

In driving in route to Chicago, my friends and I decided to stop at this Cracker Barrel location In Stevensville, MI. It was a early Saturday afternoon, the crowd was to be expected. So, we ended up being seated about 20 minutes after arriving, and when we were seated, I noticed how dirty the floor was under our table (the floor was actually sticky), and the table was still dirty, which I had to ask our waitress could she wipe the table down. Before we ordered food, my friends went to the bathroom, and came back to table complaining about how filthy the bathroom was. At first I wasn't going to go to the bathroom after hearing their complaints, but knowing we still had a couple of hours to drive to Chicago, and seeming we had already been on the rode for almost 3 hours, and decided to go. The bathroom was very dirty, floors were sticky, toilet paper and tissue was everywhere, the sinks were dirty, it was just gross! So, I went back and ordered my food. The food cane out in decent time, and the food was ok! Nothing like my experiences at the Cracker Barrel location closer to where I live. But still ok. The reason for the poor rating is based off of the severe uncleanliness of the restaurant. I'm not sure how early the restaurant opens, but for the time, it was only around noon, and for the tables, floors, and the restroom to be as dirty as it was, that didn't make sense to me. read more
