Service was great. We had a party of seven. Food was good. All around good experience. Will go back.

We were looking for someplace to eat for lunch and we found this place nearby our hotel. We saw a line waiting outside, so it must be good so we parked in their private parking lot. When you walk in, it had a nice vibe to it. There is a huge barrel of peanuts that you can scoop to eat at your table. We were greeted right away, and we were walked to our booth. The place was pretty big. They had plenty of room for seating, especially for big parties. There was a couple of big parties that came before us and it didn't feel crowded. The place was clean. They have flatscreen TVs around muted and you can hear the country music in the background. Our waiter was very friendly and took his time when we were ordering. Hubby ordered a cocktail drink and he said it was good and I ordered unsweetened tea. The drinks came in mason jars, which was a nice spin to the standard glass cup. At the table, they gave us two fresh hot rolls that were light and fluffy sweet and buttered. It was so good that we asked for seconds. Hubby ordered the half slab barbecue ribs and loaded, baked potato and a side salad with 1000 island. The barbecue ribs was nice fall off the bone. It had dry rubbed smoked, and the rib sauce was on the side. Hubby liked it. He would get it again, and he also enjoyed his loaded, baked potato with all the fixings. I ordered the 1 pound bone in ribeye steak with baked potato with butter and sour cream, medium rare and side salad with thousand island dressing. I got the salad and I was asked if I wanted croutons and cheese and I said yes it was OK. I felt like the lettuce should've been more fresh and crispy. It was kinda wilted, but I still ate it anyway. And they doused the salad with my thousand island dressing. Next time I will ask for the dressing on the side. My steak was indeed medium rare just the way I like it. I was also given A1 steak sauce, which is my favorite stay condiment. Our weight staff checked us a couple of times to make sure everything was OK. Is definitely a popular place because after we left the place got filled up pretty quickly. As Hoosiers, we're pretty familiar with Texas Roadhouse, so when we stumbled on Texas Corral after a long day of driving, we couldn't help but laugh at how similar the two are. That said, we were pleasantly surprised! We started with the bloomin' onion--perfectly crispy and flavorful. Then we split a New York strip with sides, and everything was cooked just right. The portions were huge, and the flavor was spot-on. I had a tropical margarita that was delicious, and my husband was happy to see Bell's on tap. Service was great--friendly and attentive. The only downside was the cleanliness. It was after the dinner rush, but there was quite a bit of food and trash on the floor, and our table could've used a wipe. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely noticeable. Overall, a solid, satisfying meal with great drinks--just hope the dining area gets a little more attention next time. read more

My best friend has a tradition to come in for steak every year for her birthday. This year I decided to treat her to a birthday lunch so she could fulfill her yearly tradition. We came in today right as they opened at noon, and 2 other groups seemed to have the same idea as they were also waiting for the doors to unlock. Our server, I think he said his name was Greg, was great. We ordered a Texas flower for our appetizer, she got her 6oz serloin, and I got the chicken Alfredo. We both also go side salads (mine with ranch, hers with blue cheese) and she also got a side of a baked potato. Just wanted to leave a review we are from Northern Michigan and had to pick up a vehicle in Illinois so decided to stop and get dinner so stopped into Stevensville to Texas Corral and had the best experience. we have never been to a Texas Corral or have never heard of it before but we had the best service with waitress name Mikel ! Employee looked at me like a deer in headlights when asking to place a to-go order, and then began acting very hostile towards me while taking my order. My food took around 15 minutes, for an extremely small order. No wonder the place was empty. read more

Came in from out of town, sat at the bar, and was greeted by a customer and a manager. Was given a menu and asked what was good. Had a large reply and was satisfied with the conversation. Then I disappeared. I ordered my meal, a sirloin and chicken medium-rare steak combo. I was given my salad. Buy no silverware. The three employees at the bar never looked back and kept talking away. So I went to the hostess stand and got my own silverware. When I was there I noticed they were giving rolls to every other table. I stopped a server /bus-boy and asked if I could get some rolls. He brought me one burnt hard as a rock roll. So I received my food, looked, and smelled as it should. Cut the steak and it definitely was not medium rare. But I won't send food back because I've seen the movie Waiting. I ate the meal and the steak although overcooked was comparable to Texas Roadhouse seasoning not as good as Outback. But a contender. Chicken was perfect. BBQ sauce was a disappointment. I did end up asking my server for rolls and he did bring me 2 fresh rolls and cinnamon Butter. Rolls were better with plain butter. As a traveling businessman. I expected a little more form this place as its the only restaurant in the area. I will give them another chance. And having high hopes. read more

I have only used this restaurant for takeout. I have never dealt with a restaurant that was as incompetent on the takeouts as the Stevensville location. I have used it many times (other than some upscale restaurants which I will now use always). Most everything here in Stevensville is fast food. I would estimate that about 90% of the time my Texas Corale takeout order was incomplete. In the summer, I am at Lake Michigan about 3 miles away from Texas Corale. I have had to go back to retrieve the missing items (rolls, sour cream and butter, salad dressing, etc.) Today I went to the restaurant for a takeout order. I sat at the bar for about 20 minutes (at about 4:00 p.m.) Finally, I asked someone if the bar were open. They finally tracked down the bartender and I placed my order. When I came back to my cottage at Lake Michigan, I found out that the rolls, butter and sour cream that I paid for were missing. As an 86 year old man who has always given these employees very generous tips, I have decided I will never go to the Texas Corale again. If you decide on take out, make them show you what you getting. read more

As my wife and I were in town, we remembered that they used to have a Texas Corral by us that we never went to (they ended up closing and the building was torn down), so we gave up on trying them...until we were in Stevensville and saw this Texas Corral down the street from our hotel. We got there right after they opened, so they were not busy at all. The young man at the front desk was very quick about getting us seated (he even made sure we had bread as we sat down!), and our server, Jennifer, was fantastic start to finish. She was quick about bringing coffee and water, and checking on us throughout. Now, being honest...I'm not much of a fan of the cowboy ambiance but it works for the restaurant theme. I had the BBQ Pulled Pork with waffle fries, and my wife had the Chicken Club sandwich with steak fries. First, let me say that the pulled pork was awesome!! It was flavorful, tender, and just a wonderful sandwich to have. I got a bit of my wife's sandwich and whereas I did not like it as much as my pulled pork, it was still a very good sandwich. Also, let me say that bread and cinnamon butter was absolutely fantastic!! All in all, great food, great service, and I hope this location realizes what a wonderful worker they have in Jennifer. Been there a few times, twice for Burgers and once for a Rib Eye Steak. The food was adequate for this genre but the service and ambiance lacked enthusiasm and I was left with the feeling the staff lacked enthusiasm for the opportunity to have jobs in this time of high prices to "eat out ", especially at a well known restaurant brand such as TEXAS CORRAL. My recommendation would be to hire enthusiastic wait staff, establish a dress code for employees, utilize a table to fold napkins and kibbitz away from the bar area. I don't think I will be back or recommend other than a quick burger and ice tea before jumping on I 94. read more

The first issue was that we waited an hour for a party of 12. The restaurant was completely empty. We were not offered to split up and sit at different tables or booths to expedite our dinner order. When we finally sat at our table after an hour, a defective chair ripped off our family members finger nail. Our server was more helpful and concerned than the manager was. Finally after that ordeal we got drinks after another 15 minutes and a food order after sitting for 20 minutes. Mine and my husbands six ounce steaks were the size of my thumb. I ordered a simple taco salad. The shell was stale and came half full. The lettuce was completely shredded to pieces as was everything else. The worst salad I've ever had! Our server did not treat me very nice after I told him my meal was unacceptable. Another meal in the booth behind it me was also sent back because it was unacceptable. I will not visit any other Texas Corral locations. My friend ordered a hamburger medium rare and it came out medium. This was my first and last visit to Texas Corral. Way overrated. Last night I took a chance and went to this particular Texas Corral with low expectations for past experiences have not been good. Boy was I surprised my service was outstanding and my food was exceptional. Josh was my waiter and gave me incredible service which made my dining so enjoyable. He was attentive to my needs and kept checking to make sure I didn't need anything. The food was by far the best that I have had at this location, past experiences have not been good which has made me not want to dine there. After last night I will be definitely be back. First time eating here. We arrived around 8 pm on a Friday. Perfect timing 'cause the dinner rush was over. We were seated immediately and our sweet buns with butter were delivered to our table, they gave us 3 buns. There were 3 in our party so we devoured them. The server came over and started our order with drinks and appetizers. We did not wait long, maybe less than 5 minutes. Our food was delicious, all of them; steaks, side salads, chicken wings, and stuffed mushrooms. The strawberry spring salad was a good portion and they gave plenty of salad dressing. Our steaks were cooked perfectly as requested. I loved the Texas grub. I chose the mashed potato with beef gravy and chicken dumpling soup. There's not much flavor in the mashed potato; all the flavor was in the brown, which I was okay with. My chicken dumpling soup came out thick with barely any chicken but plenty of dumplings (square pieces). Unfortunately, I will not be ordering it when I return. The drinks are in a big size mason jar as you can see in the picture. Loved the dipping sauce for the stuffed mushrooms. The chicken wings did not have much fat on the wings which we love . We were asked by our server if we wanted more bread. The lady who brought a fresh basket gave us 5, that was nice of her. Love the sweet butter and buns. We ate there yesterday and the overall experience was really bad. The salads were swimming in dressing (they put the dressing on, it's not on the side) we couldn't even eat them. My ribs were ok, but I've had much better. My husbands steak was not even close to being cooked properly. The worst part was the waitress never came to check on us or the food she had delivered. I was so disappointed, as I was so ready for a good steak dinner. I won't be ordering from them again. What a waste of money! I asked if open seating in the bar and was told the bar only even though there was tables that were open. Got seated at 5:30 with a basket of two rolls and a container of butter, two menus and two sets of cutlery. Was not acknowledged for drink order. Left at 5:50. Will not recommend this place. The food here is delicious and the service is above par. Anything our table asked for was immediately received. The ambiance was also fantastic with so much wood surrounding me I felt right at home. We never had the opportunity to eat at the restaurant in Benton Harbor but Stevensville is close by. I ordered a dessert for the other guys and they wolfed the Hot Fudge ice cream brownie right down. My dad and I just went there to eat. We were sat in a timely manner and when we sat there we ignored for at least 15 mins, while staff constantly passed us. There were maybe 10 tables there and quite a few staff and no one greeted us or even acknowledge that we existed. No one even asked if we would like waters. They just kept walking past, I was extremely disappointed. To top it off the table next to us that was sat after us was greeted. I would highly suggest not to expect great service. read more

I never tried this restaurant before but it was close to my hotel so I thought I'd check it out. I barely found a place to park, it was 6:30 pm on Friday night and they were packed! Within 10 minutes I had a seat at the bar. The bartender Jen was very busy and waited on me within 5 minutes. I placed my order with her and had my food in about 15 minutes. My steak was very good cooked the way I like it. The staff was under a lot of pressure, you would never know it talking to them. I highly recommend this restaurant and next time I'm in town I'll be having dinner here! read more

Had a great date night with the wife. She had the pulled pork and I had the filet. Both were delicious. The onion appetizer was better than outbacks and the drinks were delicious. The other reviews that are negative are a bit funny. Every place has staff shortages and long waits so my advice is to enjoy however long it takes with some good company. Would you ever complain that a concert was too long? Why not enjoy a long dining experience. I also love the guy who went to a chain restaurant just to complaint it was a chain restaurant. First visit on a Friday at 5pm seated quickly. Seems that there was no communication between the host and server so we had to wait some time after being seated. Amanda was friendly and attentive although we never did get more rolls as we asked for, twice. Small plates for the bread came out after we had eaten the rolls. Appetizer, drink and entree were served quickly. The best part were the bread rolls. Buttery, warm and had a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. Mozzarella sticks were ok, breading was good but tasted the same as the ones at GFS. Pepsi products, so that's a plus for me. Lemonade was ok, nowhere near as good as Chik-fila's lemonade but much better than Minute Maids. No refills on the drinks as we didn't get offered any. Chopped steak was awful. Tasted the charr but had no seasoning. Mushroom sauce was ok, nothing special, could've been made from Campbells soup and wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Steak fries were seasoned well. Chicken and dumpling soup was flavorless. Salad and French dressing were average. Country Chopped steak breading was flavorful, steak was not. Mashed potatoes and gravy were not seasoned well either. If I could give 0 I would. We walked in and told 35 minute wait. We live in Stevensville and was glad to see a steak house so close. We sit at the bar waiting for our table. The "bartender " was washing "dipping" glasses in water to "wash them" We sat for about 5 minutes and I finally said excuse me, can we get a drink? She said she'll be right with us and kept dipping glasses. A few minutes later, I said excuse me, can we order drinks, again, she said in a minute. About 9 minutes in she brings my husband's "dbl" tall jack and coke tasted like coke, no jack and there I sit for a cpl of minutes waiting for mine. A simple cosmo. After 15 total minutes, I went and asked the girls that checked us in how long had it been since checked in, she said about 20 minutes. I asked for the Manager and 5 minutes later, the "manager" a heavy set looking Mennonite woman said how can I help you. I explained everything to her and that I have explained above. I also added that, if you look at the wine glasses hanging, you'll see that they're filthy. We walked over to where we were sitting and my cosmo was there, at least 30 minutes by now. The "manager" didn't apologize at all and took the dirty wine glasses down. I told her we'd also asked for the bread, she snapped her fingers, told them to bring us 2, TWO breads, unbelievable. By now I think we'll be seated, nope. Needless to say, 50 minutes later I asked again, she said 10 to 15 minutes longer. "Manager" standing there said nothing when I told her it was 30 to 40 minutes, I said we're leaving. We're both in management positions and SHES NO MANAGER. I decided to go back in and tell her so and almost bumped into a cpl leaving. I walk back in and the so called manager and the 2 check in girls were laughing. I told the " manager" she has no right in that position and she's no manager. Especially when she's teaching the check in girls this is a proper way to handle customers. Come to find out, the 2 couples that left did so bc of the what the Manager was saying. We all went to Coaches down the road and, ppl were talking about their terrible experience. I hope I can post pictures here, bc the food on counter in back looked like a long buffet table. So many ppl waiting on their food while sitting on a counter in the back drying out. From what I could see, steaks were maybe 1/2 " think, very small. Go to Coaches or Clemintines 2 in St Joseph. Lots of great restaurants up town, 10 minutes away.
