Had a coupon/offer from an app and decided to try this out. I couldn't tell you the last time I had been in an Applebees, but overall, not a bad experience. I went with the burger special which is $9.99 for a soda, fries, and a bacon cheeseburger. I'm not a soda drinker so that was kind of lost on me. I added a beer for another $5 or so. There is a tequila upgrade option that pairs with the burger special which probably would've been a more wise order, but oh well. Beer was cold and served in a fancy glass, which I appreciate. Way too many bars just give you generic glasses for beers. I don't know if this burger was particularly advertised as a smash burger, but it definitely looked like it was, with some nice, crisp edges. There is no mayo, mustard or ketchup on the burger so you have to add it yourself. But IMO the burger was the standout. Definitely a solid burger, one I would order again. Fries were very salty, as is typical in most of the US. But were served warm and fresh. I finished off with an unpictured milk shake which for $3-ish was worth the cost, but likely would not order again. If you haven't been to an Applebees in a while, probably the best thing about dining here is paying at the table. You insert or tap your card on the little kiosk thing when you're doing, and you're on your way. Home run. The key in reviewing any restaurant is to consider their value proposition. Applebee's isn't trying to be a Michelin star. But that being said, this a VERY well managed Applebee's! Erwin, Eezak, and the team were very welcoming, very kind, very attentive, it was clean, quiet, and the food was good. This review is for the curbside pickup. The online ordering process was fast and easy. When you arrive you park in a designated, numbered spot. Then you notify the restaurant that you have arrived, and the spot you are parked in. They bring your food out right away. You can order, pay, and tip on the app for an easy, no-contact process. I haven't dined in at Applebee's since COVID started but I have ordered on the app and used curbside pickup quite a few times. We had a gift card from Xmas that needed to be used, so stopped in for a quick dinner. It's cute how they make it appear local by having Westfield Murals in the restaurant. Their lunch combos have so many choices. As one item, I was planning to get the chicken tortilla soup but read the note saying it contains pork. Why? It should be chicken. Scratch that choice. Wow! Once I researched the nutritional values, I realized that their regular healthy choices are not very healthy. THOUSANDS of milligrams of sodium/salt!! No way. Look online for nutritional values or ask the host for their notebook of them. The notebook revealed that Applebee's has a lemon olive oil vinaigrette. Who would have thought? Love it! So I am not usually impressed by chain restaurants but our dinner tonight was really good. It was more like 3.5 stars but still good. We had a ribs/chicken combo and steak/ribs and they both were good. I was surprised by how good the steak was especially since I get mine well done. It was really flavorful and tender. Loaded mashed potatoes were the star of my meal. I had a Cosmo with my meal and it was good. For dessert we got a blondie because I love those. But this one was not so great. Not even warm. Our server was indifferent and definitely not friendly but he did cover the basics. No table touch by manager. I am a stickler for that, because that shows if they care or not. This is a great local eatery that serves an amazing variety of food choices from burgers to steaks, chicken and seafood which is on special now for Lent! The service is almost always excellent and attentive and I am a big FAN of the table top system that lets you pay your bill when you are ready plus we've played trivia games on! My boyfriend and I normally enjoy going here, having drinks & a relatively inexpensive (2 for $20 menu) dinner. The menu had changed since the last time we were here and we could no longer get the chicken dish (my favorite) as a part of our normal deal! Even though there were more expensive dishes on the special menu our waiter refused to accommodate us. We also had the margaritas which (picture attached) looked like water, and tasted equally as underwhelming. Not to mention it took more than 10minutes to make each drink at the bar. While the bartender is off talking to the manager. Overall just not a great experience. When coming in to pick up a to go order (on numerous occasions), the employees are gathered around talking. They look at me and don't greet me or ask to help me. I just stood at the bar waiting for anyone to assist me. I'll wait around 10-15 minutes past when the food should've been picked up, they never have it prepared on time or close. The staff is unfriendly and what I assume is the manager was hateful when I brought an order back in letting them know it's not the right thing. I ordered beef nachos and the nachos were delivered with less than a tablespoon of ground beef yet cost the same amount as my son's very beefy burger. Oh, where to begin... This Applebee's used to be so great. Tonight, worst dining experience I've had ever. I wanted to do something nice for my mom because it's her birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!) and this was far from it. When we got there we sat patiently for 20 minutes with no help. We came with a large group on a Friday night. They were very quick o get tables set up for us. We had a mixture of adults and kids and they set up a table for the kids and an adjacent table for the adults, which I thought was nice. Food was good and hot, and everyone received what they ordered. This was not easy to accomplish because it was a big group. And they have half priced appetizers after 9 pm, so that was a plus. They matched up the kids at one table with their parent at the other table and all the receipts were correct. It was impressive!
