My husband and I went to Waffle House for lunch. This was my first time eating at a Waffle House restaurant and I am not looking forward to returning. This restaurant was small, cramped, and dirty. When we entered there were several tables and booths available but they all had food on the table or on the floor, so we sat at the counter. I ordered the chocolate chip waffle while my husband ordered the sausage, egg and cheese hashbrown bowl. The food was very standard. There was nothing special about this Waffle House. The servers were very business-like and not particularly friendly. I hope that this experience is not indicative of other locations. read more

We love a good waffle house. When we moved up to this area, we thought we didn't have one anywhere close. However, once we found out this one was less than 10 minutes away, we were quick to go check! It's definitely not as big as a normal location (at least it doesn't feel that way). However, it doesn't seem to stop the crew in there from getting folks in, served with a smile, served some great food, and on their way. We felt right at home as soon as we walked in. It took only a few minutes before a few seats opened up at the bar top and began enjoying our breakfast. Will definitely be back! read more

I love Waffle House, but this location was less than stellar because of slow service. There were tables uncleaned and untouched through the duration of our visit. We sat and waited for acknowledgment and service for about 15 minutes. We put in our orders then 15 minutes later the one waffle ordered came out first (totally fine because rather have it warm than wait for the rest of the food), but we still didn't have our drinks delivered. The rest of the food did come out about ten minutes later. Overall okay- hash browns were a bit overdone, biscuits and gravy a little bland, but enjoyable. I hadn't actually eaten a waffle from Waffle House previously, but I expected more, maybe thicker? It tasted good, very much like a pancake with a little grid pattern on top. Overall, they need more efficient staff and service, but the I would still try this location again. read more

This was my first trip to a Waffle House and it was exactly what I thought a diner breakfast should be. Large servings, and even though there was not a fruit or veggie in sight, it hit the spot. Once my order was taken it was right back to the jukebox. Had to ask the cook to stop cooking just get a refill on my coffee. Unreal... Get rid of the jukebox!!! As a truck driver this has to be one of the worst waffle houses in indiana. They NEVER answer the phone, they literally unplug it so they don't have extra work. Good God In Heaven! I am still in a food coma nearly 14 hours after my pilgrimage to the mecca of hash brown/waffle heaven. This is one of the closest Waffle Houses to Chicago. It is a mere 182 miles away. Since Lara and i were going to be in La Porte Indiana anyway what was a few extra miles (160 to be exact) to fill our bellies with goodness. Our waitress was awesome. The food was amazing (biscuits and gravy, patty melt, blueberry waffle, double order of "all the way" hash browns, coffee, iced tea (yes we sure can eat)), and a good time was had in our state of food nirvana. On a side note, a Waffle House is sorely needed much closer to Chicago, in case Waffle House corporate is reading today. read more

I also expected to see a changing table of some sort, but there's not even a countertop. So that brought it down to three stars. For what it's worth, the cooking area is clean except the floor. This is the ONLY Waffle House that I eat at. It is super clean and the staff is extremely nice. Not the case with all Waffle Houses.

Couldn't be more impressed with a waffle house location! Interior was clean and larger than alot of waffle house locations I've been to. Staff was attentive and the food came out as quick as possible for being made fresh. My girlfriend ordered the chicken sandwich and it was great. Full of flavor even though it wasn't breaded, and cooked perfectly. I ordered the double Angus cheeseburger and was surprised how flavorful the beef was. Don't waste your time stopping. Walked in there today at Noon, there were maybe 6 customers. Picked a seat in a booth that didn't have dirty dishes on it, even though the table wasn't that clean either. Waited 10 minutes and never got waited on. The cook had a nice conversation with the bread man, while the 2 waitresses(??) completely ignored me. I walked out. Won't be back. I'll head on up the road to the one in Anderson next time. I had only gone to a Waffle House in Atlanta once before but went to the one off Pendleton Pike with my family on a Saturday late morning. It was crowded and I know why. I had scrambled eggs with cheese , grits, bacon, and waffle with biscuit. The food was cooked to perfection!! I was pleasantly surprised. I believe I had the All American or something like that. My only criticism is that it comes with a waffle , grits and biscuit which is not typical since most of this is carb heavy; a side would be a better alternative to another bread like biscuit or toast that is included with the meal. I don't know how I did it, but I dropped $26 for two last weekend. I had something with Texas in the name, an order of scattered, smothered, and covered, and a B&G. We lied to the portly waitress about being Canadian and ended up waxing poetic about socialized health care to the linecooks. With the most disrespectful tone I think she could muster. When we finished signing the check we waited for confirmation we were okay to leave she looked at us and said "what do you need?" I've been going here for a number of years now. The staff have always been hit or mess. I know it's not a 5 star diner however eating your food while over hearing your server discuss their personal problems (loudly) isn't a pleasant experience. Sometimes servers look hung over or working their bodies at 10%. Overworked or actually hungover I don't know. I have to say the past 5-6 months has been great. I eat nights now more frequently just because day shift got to be unsettling. Levi and Jamie seem to always be working and both are a treat to my friends and I.
