Tried it for a 3rd time thinking it would be better. It most definitely wasn't. I vow Never Ever Again! We were there almost 3 hrs and no they weren't busy or under staffed. The staff would disappear to the back for 15 minutes or so at a time. I'm pretty sure our waitress Crystal was high on meth. The hostess was horrible too. We were there about 1 HR and now waiting on our drinks and an appetizer to come out, when a group walked up and asked what was the hold up to get seated. I visited this place Saturday, April 29th. Big mistake, the place was not crowded and we waited 45 minutes for our food. When they broght the food to the table it was not at all pleasing to the eye, the macaroni and cheese was cold and pieces of cheese just layed on top of cold macaroni, the steak was so chewy i couldn't eat it and the baked potato had no butter or anything you would want or expect to see. I will not be going back to this place, i will say that when the manager came to the table he was very helpful and I did notice other people were not happy either. I ordered something that was described as 'roasted potatoes in herbs' what I got were half boiled potatoes lightly sprinkled with a little pinch of herbs. The salmon wasn't cooked thoroughly, both myself and the cat were sick as hell for two days! My husbands meal consisted of shrimp that had been sat, dried out and possibly reheated. My mother-in-Laws was dried pasta that looked as if it was a previous order that hadn't been collected and just sat there the rest of the day. Had to send our tiny flavorless (not even a hint of salt) steak back and garlic mash potatoes were awful (I have had them at other Applebees and loved them), these were not edible. The fiesta chicken had some good flavor, although it was obvious it had been frozen and not fresh. The pico was good once we finally got it. The rice was super dry and crunchy, it tasted old and reheated in the microwave. Our burger was overcooked, but tasty. Food in general was NOT FRESH. Not what you would expect for a Friday night. Our server was very nice, but other staff kept coming up to our table interrupting us and her and bickering back before, which was incredibly confusing and strange. Also it took forever to get silverware. We got the impression that they had no clean ones. We waited a good 10 minutes for forks with food in front of us. Long, long wait for our food as well. This place must hire charity cases. There MAY be a total IQ of 30 collectively between the entire staff. The staff is rude and lazy, the tables and floor are dirty with dishes and food. It took me 5 minutes to locate silverware because everyone seemed more interested in who my waitress was over giving my a fork and knife. Then, the manger proceeded to talk bad very loudly about me to a group of men in the corner all because I asked for silverware. Sorry for inconveniencing you, Ashley. I had lunch at Applebee's in Cartersville. My tab came to $10.12. I gave my waitress $15.00 in cash. She returned with my friends change and left. When she came back by, I asked her why she failed to bring my change. She said she would go get it. In other words, she kept my change which was way above 20%.. When she returned with my change which was not ALL THERE, I asked her, " Did I tell you to keep the change?" of which she replied, No. She just assumed that she was supposed to. I call this being very unprofessional, disrespectful and untrustworthy. I asked to speak to the manager and she agree. That was it. I will never go back to the Applebee's in Cartersville. read more

The food usually taste pretty good but that's as far as it goes. I've gone with my mom and husband and with my two closest friends and was disappointed. Getting the food, even the appetizers took an hour and the waitresses size you up and if they don't think that you will leave a big tip they put you on the back burner and don't check on you. She even argued with my girlfriend because they have a special that if they don't offer you a frozen jack and coke that you get a free frozen coke. Well at the end of our visit she told her and the waitress just argued with us that we were all lying even though the only drink she's talked about was "what you want to drink" and that was it. I had been sick and deprived of food for several days. The ONLY thing I could think ab eating was Spinach & artichoke dip & fiesta lime chicken. So, I dragged my decrepit behind in on a BUSY Saturday afternoon. The place was packed with just 3 servers. Every single employee in that restaurant pulled together to serve every patron that came thru the door. I am talking hostesses, cooks, bartenders, general managers, assistant managers. My party of 8 was served quickly and efficiently and I finally got what I was craving and it was AWESOME! But, my story doesn't end there. Because I had been so sick, I was still loopy and ended up leaving my wallet there on the table. I went home and passed out for the remainder of the weekend, not realizing my entire world was left at a high top in Applebee's. On Monday, I frantically called at 10:30am and the GM, John, answered. I told him the situation and he said, "Where have you BEEN?! I have been so worried about you! I have been guarding this thing with my life for TWO DAYS!!" I immediately arranged for pick up. I went to have drinks with my friends last night and it took 10 minutes before our sever came to the table. The restaurant was completely empty except for the bar and she came to our table with an attitude. (BROOKE) When trying to get drinks from the bartender (MICAH) he told us that we had a server and to get help from her. The server never came back to our table to even check on us. We asked a different server (CHELSEY) to get us 3 drinks, it took a little long but she went out her way to get the drinks to us. AppleBees use to be a favorite of mine but the service has become poor! The wait staff is entirely TOO COMFORTABLE! They don't put forth any effort towards making it a good experience. I went to this restaurant because of the convenience of being right across from the place I had my vehicle serviced very disappointing. I ordered the grilled steak sandwich with fries and a bowl of French onion soup. Well I have to say the French onion soup was very good the fries were like eating cardboard and the steak sandwich basically had very little more bread and onions than anything it was absolutely awful I keep on telling myself not to come back to this app nor any other Applebee's service sucks they expect you to pay with the stupid computer On the table. I don't go to restaurants to have to order my dinner on a computer or pay for my food on a computer I go there for the service the cuisine and the atmosphere this place absolutely is right. It was entirely too dark in the restaurant to the point where you need a flashlight to read the menu. The waitress were rude. I am allergic to mushrooms and told the waitress no mushrooms on my food after a long wait she returned with my order with mushrooms on it. It was so dark in the restaurant I could barely tell that she didn't get my order right my husband warned me before I ate it because he noticed it. But don't worry I didn't eat it because she never brought us the silverware to eat with. The rice was cold and hard I talked with manager about the issues but he seemed not to care and I guess he was to busy chasing afterward the young looking waitresses. Because every time I looked up he was in the corner talking to one instead of making sure his customers were happy. I did not eat anything because after that I was afraid that they would have done something to my food. HORRIFIC SERVICE. We came in and it took 20 minutes to get our seats when there were open tables everywhere. They were all so confused. Then they gave us a seating finally but no waiter, no silverware/utensils, and didn't ask what we wanted to drink. We sat there for 20 minutes until our "waiter" came to ask our drinks. We waited again for 10 minutes to get our drinks and our waiter didn't even bring them. The sweet old lady who was the host gave them to us. Then we waited for 30 minutes to just place our order!!! 30 minutes!! And our "waiter" didn't even come. The sweet old lady came again to help us order. She was nervous and we understood her difficulty, yet it was ridiculous. We waited for another 30 minutes. And by then other guests who came after us and were leaving before us. They would come to us and say they get horrible and that we should ask for 50% off. We said thank you and still had hope we would start getting better service, but we were wrong. The "waiter" would walk past or table, look us in the eye, and then keep walking. By then, we were done. It was the worst service ever. Another host came and asked us if we were okay, and we said no and she said she will get the manager. The manager came and felt horrible and was sorry. She offered free food. And free food to go since we were in our way back home from a trip and we had 8hrs to still drive. We told her we will pay but aren't eating the food(it came in late but was cold and wrong). She told us she isn't going to make us pay and still get sorry. We left the restaurant. And what made it worse was it was my dad's birthday. They ruined my dads birthday lunch. We stopped in during the weekend of the township school prom. It was kinda packed at most restaurants in the area. The Applebee's was not so packed (that should have been a clue). After being seated fairly quick, we had someone take drink order. The drinks then came out in waves. (only 5 of us). Then the waitress came and took our food orders, she was very friendly and informative. Now order was placed and the wait begun. While we waited I consumed my entire large beer (which came with over 1" of foam). The waitress asked if I'd like another, I responded yes but please tell your bartender to fill it this time. Her response is where I got upset, oh it's mandatory that we put that much foam on it, I responded that's crap and that's close to 3 oz. of beer. You're already using a cheater Pilsner glass (thick bottom). Now we're still waiting on food, it finally came out, but once again in waves. Here's the last straw, the kids meal came out last! The 5 year old was hungry and eating off moms plate while he waited! Get it together staff! Bartender stop ripping off customers, make sure the children are served first! We visited this location on a Thursday night around 7:30, so it wasn't crowded. We were a party of 17, sitting at different tables. After an hour, half our party had NOT even ordered. The hungry ones happened to be a boys basketball team who just played a game! The manager finally got involved and apologized and said they would rush out the food. The food came 30 minutes later. Was this a rush?? There was no free appetizer to hold us over and no compensation on the bill. Just apologies and stating they are focusing on getting people fed. WHAT??? I went for the first time in years to Applebee's last night, it sure didn't take long to remember why I haven't been! It took 10 minutes to get our drinks and our waitress Shay didn't even get those right. The food took forever to arrive and when it did it was under portioned and terrible. Our waitress spent the whole night at another table flirting with a table full of guys so we had to order a second round of drinks from the manager. 30 minutes later our drinks never arrived and we found hair in our food. Once we finally got our tab the second round was on the tab and I told our waitress we never received them to which she asked "do you want me to try and take those off?" On top of that we had been charged for multiple games on the pay pad at the table. 30 minutes into the check receiving process and her arguing over what we had and her dropping the F bomb several times I finally overpaid and left. This review is not about the service but more about the managerial skills missing in this restaurant. We were greeted by the hostess telling us that she couldn't seat us for 20 to 30 minutes. There were 5 of us. We looked around and there was literally less then 10 tables with people. All the others were empty, so we questioned it. She said they are just behind in the kitchen. We said can't we at least be seated and get drinks. We should have just taken it as a sign and left but we were from out of state for a funeral, it was late and we were tired and hungry. So she did seat us. The waiter came by within a short time and took our drink order. Apparently there were employees that called out that night. We were told the manager was cooking. We got our drinks and was told that we could order anything except burgers, steaks, basically any meat. We decided to just order appetizers to hold us over and get us out of there. Soon after that we were told we could order anything. One member of our party specifically wanted a cheese burger. She ordered specifying lettuce, mayonnaise but NO tomato. It came with a tomato, and a piece of cold cheese not melted, and was told "sorry we are out of mayonnaise". Seriously, you have burgers on your menu, a grocery store literally in the same shopping area and you are out of mayonnaise. That is poor management. The waiter was mostly good, except for stopping and chatting with friends and wasting about 5 minutes each time he left our table with a specific request to get something. After the appetizers were delivered we were told it would be a while on silverware because all of the silverware was dirty and they were waiting for it to be washed and rolled.
