I'm sad that I didn't get her name, and I know I'm just me, but I want to recognize who I believe is the manager of the Applebee's Grill + Bar in Columbus, Indiana. We took my bonus girl out to dinner to celebrate her amazing performance at her season 10 showcase last night. Emelyn went downhill fast and got sick right in the middle of dinner, which was a pretty difficult experience for her. It was extremely busy, but the manager quickly came to our aid and not only cleaned up the mess, but offered supplies to help us, and was so kind and reassuring to our girl (and us). Emmy kept saying, "I'm sorry I make a mess" and the kind lady just kept saying, "It's okay baby girl. I've got this. It happens to us all." Grateful for good people. We were the first to enter the restaurant on New Year's Eve. We were immediately greeted with a smiling face and sat at a table. I don't remember the name of our server. She was a younger woman limping from an injury. But she never stopped smiling. She was extremely attentive to our table as others entered the restaurant. I ate the blackened salmon with chicken tortilla soup and a side of the garlic green beans. I was so happy with my choice. The meal was delicious. I love visiting Applebee's with my husband. They were out the dressing for a salad that they delivered to the table without any dressing at all. And when we asked for the dressing the waitress brought a small container of teriyaki sauce. read more

This is a fun place to take calm friends and family service is pretty face but the soups are not to good a little bit bite bait on that one but the drinks are super fun. Also this is not fast food at all it was a great meal reccomend to ages 12-100 read more

Ok I want to give it 5 stars because I am in love with their nachos. They may have been the best I've ever had. I have a stupid weakness for nachos. However I ordered the Bourbon street steak and the waitress even asked me how I wanted it cooked. I was brought out the bourbon street chicken. She claimed she put it in right but when I went to pay the chicken was on the bill. My wife ordered the rib-lets and they were not good at all. The meat had an odd texture to it like they were old or had been reheated maybe. If I come back I would just order the nachos with a side of nachos. read more

This is based on my experience last night, as I did the car side to go like I almost always do. I ordered a steak done Medium. There was blood still coming out as it was pretty much rare. This is NOt the first time it happened, as the last time I ordered I had gotten 2 steaks done medium and they were rare as well. read more

It you want to dine somewhere and have completely worthless service. You are looking at the right place. Our waitress was a complete ditz, between the horrible pre bussing skills and the fact she hardly checked on us. She really ruined this experience. When we were brought our food I got my salad as well. We had waited about 20 minutes for food, so there was plenty of time to bring out the salad. So by the time I ate my salad my food was already getting cold. The food itself was okay, nothing great. I'm also concerned that I may have been over charged for a margarita. I will look into that when we go to the applebees back home. Overall this place was a horrible visit in my opinion. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with Applebee's. I don't have anything there that I think "Oh man, I can't wait to go back and eat that again." Now, they do have some good drinks from the bar. My husband and I went in last night to have appetizers for dinner. We ordered an appetizer sampler, a trio, and some wonton tacos, which we have loved in the past. We were seated and ordered drinks -- my husband ordered a Pepsi. He got his drink and it was flat. The waitress informed us that it was from a two liter. "Do you still want it?" She asked. Obviously he didn't want to pay $2.99 or whatever for a flag Pepsi from a two liter. That's more expensive than a whole two liter. We ordered our food and ate what we could. We brought plenty home with us, which was great. Later that night when we got home, my husband got terribly sick. Food poisoning. So, needless to say, we will not be going back to Applebee's again anytime soon. read more

We usually have a decent experience at Applebee's of Columbus Indiana however this time started and ended disappointingly. When we arrived we put our name in, 2 groups our size that arrived after us were seated before us. The hostess had made a mistake and forgotten us (we're all human,mistakes happen). We get seated and we wait... and wait... and wait. Serves continued walking past us but none stopped, when we called out to a server she kept walking. The next time that server walked by she placed a plate in the way so she couldn't see us. 20 minutes have passed that we have been seated, no server has even spoken to us let alone taken our drink orders... We sat there for 20 with no interaction from an employee. Needless to say we left.....short summary DISAPPOINTED! read more

I've always gotten good-great service at Applebee's! Pre-baby, the bar area is the place to be at. With a baby it's just as pleasant, just a bit more messy (don't forget to tip your servers well!!). We usually go for half price apps after 9, the spinach and artichoke dip is top notch although they've made the portions smaller which makes me very very sad. The chicken won ton tacos are also good, strange, but very good. When we go for dinner I've had just about everything. My top three options are the Oriental Chicken salad, the Four cheese mac with honey chipotle chicken, and the bourbon street chicken. The service is typically great and food usually comes out right and on time or is promptly fixed. Favorite adult beverages would be he Bahamas's Mama, Blue Hawaiian Long Island iced tea or of course Yuengling beer! A simple margarita is good too, it's hard to mess that up. read more

If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would have. For starters, the server was very rude. We ordered the Bourbon St. Steak, which I have had many, many times. It was horrible. No seasoning. Tough. Very poor quality steak. The "red potatoes" were NOT red potatoes and they were not crispy....they were not even DONE! I subbed the green beans for potatoes and they were no better. They were cold and had absoluteely NO flavor. Garlicy??? Nope. Worse steak, worse meal I have ever gotten in a restaurant in my entire life. Definitely not worth the money. Ate there for dinner tonight and the food was so good! Sarah was our waitress and she was wonderful! We got the 2 for $25, all american standard burger and the mac and cheese with chicken tenders and boneless wings. The wings were fantastic, like always! We ordered food to be delivered to our hotel room. It arrived cold, missing eating utensils, and tasted awful. The mac and cheese for my grandson was cold and tasteless, he didn't eat it at all. The chicken on my chicken caesar salad was grisly. And nothing tastes worse than cold broccoli. $43 for dinner, and no one could eat any of it. read more

So my friends and I come in at least once a week and we prefer to have Libby H. wait on us. We were regulars of hers at Texas Roadhouse and we have always loved her. She knows what she is doing and is very personable. If you're going to eat at Applebee's, ASK FOR LIBBY TO SERVE YOU, seriously! Guaranteed it'll be some of the best service you have gotten in a restaurant. She's always got a smile on her face and treats each one of us as an individual and not just another table she has to serve. Plus, the food, especially appetizers, are terrific 95% of the time. We usually never have problems with our food but if we do, Libby always assures that it is corrected and perfect! The environment, food, and service are great and I highly recommend! We ate lunch here about a week ago the beer cheese an pretzels was really good. But when we got out meal it less then bad. We had the bourbon chicken an shrimp, the chicken was burnt an not editable an the shrimp was way over cooked they do do a good job on broccoli. Went here Saturday for lunch with the family. Food and service were excellent. By far my best trip to an area Applebees. Only negative is we paid on the tablet at the table and added a 25% tip but our card still has not been hit for the tip.
