Applebee's was a major letdown. I ordered a simple baked potato and a Cesar salad. First of all the kitchen ran out of baked potatoes, which is crazy to me since a baked potato is so simple to make. The Cesar salad was mediocre. Too much dressing and little to no cheese. The waitstaff was not attentive and did not here from her after she brought the food. Dinner here tonight ..had a salad with Pecan chicken on it. The chicken was so dry and was like chewing on shoe leather. I actually sent it back And only done this once before at another restaurant. Today I spoke with Edwin Scheibel (District Manager) of Appleebee's who wanted to make light of my experience stating, "...it must have been a misunderstanding, Jordan didn't think you wanted dessert." There is no mistake when you tell the hostess and waiter at the start of the meal that we were celebrating my mother's birthday. There is no room for mistake when you approach Jordan and state three times that you would like her birthday celebrated, and he has nothing but excuses as to why they weren't going to celebrate her. We weren't looking for a piece of cake, we just wanted my mom celebrated like the other tables. We had an insulting experience that night and then a District Manager from Applebee's just wants to argue with me about why they are right and make excuses. There was no excuse for this experience. Had a terrible lunch experience here recently. The place was busy and I'm not sure if the servers were new or if they were short staffed. I stopped here for lunch with a friend. We just wanted to stop in for a quick soup and salad - a meal that you think would be served quickly- WRONG!! We sat here waiting forever!! When we kept asking our waiter what was going on he seemed clueless and we were even brought someone else's meal which we should have just eaten considering how long we waited for ours! We waited so long for this stupid salad and soup that we were starting to walk out until our waiter ran over and saw us wanting to leave and then assured us our meals were on their way. It still took awhile and we kept telling the waiter "Where's our food? We really need to get back to work! IT'S JUST A SOUP AND A SALAD!" Two items that are probably already prepared and just needed to be plated. We even joked to the waiter "should we go get our own food?" We were surprised because in the past they usually had quick and good service. It was so disappointing and aggrevating to just stop in for a quick bite while on your lunch break and wind up waiting around forever with poor service! read more

Recently came here for a late night dinner. They are open quite late on Saturday nights which is helpful if you want a bite to eat in the Danbury/Brookfield area. This visit receives 3 stars because the restaurant was hot and humid inside (it was cooler outside!) which makes for an uncomfortable eating experience. Also, my fiancé ordered the French onion soup and there was a hair in it. To the servers credit, she did everything to make up for it. HOWEVER, we still had to pay for it. Originally it was comped, but then was re-added to the bill. Pretty crappy. read more

My wife and kids ate here for dinner last night. We choose Applebees because of their 2 entree and appetizer for $20. My wife had the 3 cheese penne pasta dish and I had the new shrimp pasta dish. Both were quite good, however my dish had a strong garlic base, luckily I like garlic so I enjoyed it. I would suggest that the waiter inform the customer in the future. My son ordered from the kids menu and asked if he could substitute an order of fries for mac and cheese, he was told by the waiter that there were no substitutions. This was no big deal but I could see from the the 2 for $20 entree deal you would not sub but the kids menu fries verses mac and cheese ( i'm certain it came from the box) hmmm.... I really liked the black and tan beer I ordered because real bartenders know guiness is on top and bass ale is on the bottom and it is separated, Thanks Guys! My wife also liked her mango and wild berry margaritas, we will be back again. read more

one of the bartenders I always have is friendly but lacks attentiveness. They don't even refill my drink or remember celery and when they bring it they forget the blue cheese and also didn't even take my card was too busy socializing with the people on the left side of me . I tried waiting and I ended up getting someone else to take the payment which is not normally what someone does since that person wasn't the same one that took the order in the first place. Even one of the workers there had told me this isn't the first time this has happened meaning this has been reoccurring and don't know why she hasn't been assigned another position its very unprofessional to have someone waiting to pay for their order and they are too busy being sidetracked. Don't understand what's wrong with her but she needs to be retrained or assigned another position because bartending is definitely NOT for her. will not sit at the bar ever again. read more

I haven't been to Applebees in forever but I've been there about 3 times in the past 3 months for different occasions. The first two experiences were fine but my last appearance made me realize why I don't care to go there anymore. My husband and I walked in and wanted to sit in a booth on the right hand side of the restaurant but the hostess told us the tables were dirty which was a lie. For some reason when we go there they always seem to place us on the left hand side of the restaurant. Which in my opinion seems like the nosier location. And the hostess picks and chooses whose best to sit on the right hand noiseless side. Besides that to make a long story short, After we ordered our meal I notice an advertisement of 3 alcohol drinks. The sign says, If your waiter/ waitress fails to feature these drinks to you, then you can get one of those drinks for free. I confronted the waitress about it and she told me those signs should've been off the tables. But the sign didn't have a specific time stating when the offer ended. Then as I look around, those signs were on every single table in the restaurant. She responded with us with an attitude as If she knew she was wrong for her response and reaction. It was very unprofessional. Her whole service was unprofessional and confusing as if she didn't seem to know how to react in front of customers. My meal came out which was good for having the sirloin, but i received the smallest scoop of mash potatoes as if that was the very last bit of it until they made a new batch. I asked for refill and we received it at the end of our meal because the waitress forgot all about it. All in all I was disappointed in the service and made me realize why Im never coming back to Applebees again. Not only at this location but in general. read more

About 6 months ago after an early movie stopped in and was seated . After an over 15min wait for waitress we just got up and left . Told hostess why she understood did not try to correct anything . Next visit called curbside order in. Arrived sat in car for 10 minutes got out and went in to serve myself . Nice waitress apologized said they were busy . Went to pay with a gift bonus card was advised card expired a week ago . Asked for manager she said there was nothing she could do about card and could care less that curbside was non existent. Went to another Applebees and explained about card and they took care of it with no problem understanding that I was unaware of expiration date. Having not leaned my lesson and going with experiences at other Applebees last Wed eve the June 7th called in for curbside order was put on hold and forgotten . Hung up called back lady bartender answered phone after 8 rings . She said she would take my order . After I ordered I said I had a red car . She said I'd have to come in for "Curbside Pickup " as she was only one at bat. Could care less. Looking at other reviews on this location I see I'm not alone . I received a gift card to the restaurant and decided to go- glad I did not have to pay full price for the meal. Place was not crowded at all, however, our waitress looked like she had worked two shifts back to back, did not smile at all. Placed our order(apps and entrees), food came out in a reasonable amount of time, but no apps, they brought out our entrees first. The waitress did not bring out our food, was the manager, who also was tending bar! Manager did not compensate us in any way- although we did complain about the apps not coming out before the entrees. Said that the kitchen was busy, and mixed the order up. The apps did come out soon after we received our entrees, but by the time we were done with the apps, the entrees were a bit cold. My husband ordered a medium burger- but it was well done and burnt, and it was a burger and had another half piece to it for some reason. I ordered a med rare and also got a well done. Did not send back because we were too afraid what would happen with the food in the back of house. Waitress did not offer us refill on our drinks and only checked on us once the entire time. About 45 minutes after eating our meal, I was in the bathroom and was sick the whole night from the food. My husband was sick the following morning and we both did not feel 100% until the following day. This was my first and will be my last visit to this awful place. Do not go unless you want crap service from an uncaring, unapologetic staff and end up in the bathroom for 24 hours afterward. read more
