The food was okay, but I was very disappointed in the service. Appetizers took forever to come out, and our server never apologized for the wait nor checked on us to see how our meal was. Overall a good first experience with a few "eh". But I also understand this restaurant just opened and is finding their way. Starting out with the aesthetic, not a fan and not a huge fan of the layout. The black painted walls and low ceilings make it feel a bit claustrophobic. There weren't really any decor up yet when I went so it just felt dark and dreary. You walk into the dining room with a bar on the right with bar seating (very tight fitting) and then a bar all the way on the left? It was also super hot in the building the night we went so our party of 3 just felt squeezed in and uncomfortable. But moving on the to the food. We really enjoyed it for the most part, the burger being the best. My steak was pretty fatty and tasted okay. I liked the salad part. We ordered the burrata for app and was confused that it doesn't come with bread or crackers? So we asked for some on the side and we had to giggle at how tiny the little pieces were and the serving size. We needed to ask for a second serving of bread. All in all I would try it again but I'll probably wait for them to establish more of a routine and direction. I really enjoyed Rein Osteria and will continue to go to that. So I'm hoping The Reserve goes in a little different direction so our community as more unique options. read more

Driving by we saw they opened! Decided to have my birthday dinner here and so glad we did. The food is delicious and the service is fabulous. We sat in the bar area. Not too loud and tables are comfortable. There wasn't an open seat at the bar. We will have to come back for dessert bc we are FULL!! read more

Today was my first time at The Reserve, and I unfortunately have to agree with some of the Google reviews. The food took quite a long time to come out. We started with a couple of drinks, which were very strong..maybe a little too strong. My sangria didn't taste like sangria at all, and I honestly couldn't tell what was in it. It didn't have any fruit, and I think vodka was added. We ordered the calamari and what was listed as hummus with pita. When it arrived, we noticed the "hummus" was actually spinach and artichoke dip. I had to ask about it since I have an allergy and wanted to make sure a certain ingredient wasn't included. We decided to keep it and I'm glad we did because it was absolutely delicious!! The calamari was just as good, if not better. Both appetizers were fantastic. For our entrée, we ordered the rigatoni to share. There was a bit of confusion, as our waitress (who was also the bartender) thought we wanted it packed to go, when we actually planned to eat it and then take the rest home. She quickly fixed it in the kitchen, so really no harm done. My only guess is that since we had been sitting with appetizers for quite a while, she may have assumed we were finished eating.. I mean it was a while. The pasta itself was cooked perfectly and the sauce was very good. However, it was topped with microgreens and cilantro which really threw me off! I've never had a pasta dish garnished with cilantro, especially instead of something more traditional like basil...? It felt like a strange choice and was a bit unappetizing for me. Overall, it was a very... odd... first experience. Would I give it another shot? Yes, but I think I'd wait a bit and hope things become more organized. I have to add it is beautiful inside. We were ready to rate the Reserve a five. We had the brussel sprouts which were excellent . I had octopus which was very good.. My wife had muscles in wine sauce. We went shopping and drove over an hour home. Shortly after getting home my wife got horribly sick. She vomitted up the muscles over a half a dozen times all night, weakening her to the point we almost had to go to the hospital. Thankfully friend who is a nurse came to our home to help her. This was the worse case of food poisoning my 45 year old wife has ever experienced and we eat out often. The next day, a Sunday, I called the Reserve an hour before they opened at 10am, no one answered so I left a VM.. I wanted to let the restaurant know what happened so others might also not be affected by the bad muscles. Five days later no response. Too bad. Most of the food was good and we had excellent service but it's hard to recommended a place that doesn't care about its customers. read more

Rein Osteria's Danbury offspring. So maybe because The Reserve is fairly new and crowded at a Tuesday noon seating but seriously.... Seriously understaffed, 20 minute wait for a seat and 20 more for an entree. I realize it's tough to get servers and a decent cook staff but considering the time and money spent on the gentrification of Widow Browns a few more dollars to get sufficient staff would vastly improve this customer's impression. read more

My friend and I went. Really nice place. Great service. I had a glass of wine and a delicious burrata salad. Would definitely recommend it.

Food quality / price (value) rating 8.5. The atmosphere is dark and moody with well placed accent lighting. Very good "date night" spot. They have two large dining rooms and a large bar area with several high top booths and a 16 seat bar that was full with out-on-the-town couples. I had the Filet Mignon "Gorgonzola" where the gorgonzola was basically blue cheese salad dressing rather than actual gorgonzola on the filet - very disappointing. It came with two sides and I ordered the skillet fried Brussels sprouts (the best I've ever had) and garlic mashed potatoes that neither of us could taste any garlic. The wife had the Salmon with tomato marscapone risotto. The salmon was fine, but the risotto was relatively flavorless. There was no bread or salad served, which at these prices there should have been at the very least some bread. We got the Midnight Mousse cake to go, and it was good. Had a good drink and app at the bar. The space is beautiful. The reason I deducted a star is the menu (both drinks and food) is identical to Rein (I know it's from the same owners). I stopped going to Rein a couple of years ago b/c the menu never changed and we got sick of it. I was hoping to see something different at The Reserve, and possibly something more upscale. But it's literally identical, right down to a "Hold the Reins" cocktail named after Rein. Probably wouldn't go back unless the menu changes up a bit to be different. read more
