This establishment was the most disappointing dining experience I have encountered. The quality of the food was unsatisfactory; it was inedible and caused me to gag despite my efforts to consume it. Furthermore, the service was inadequate, as our meals took approximately 20-30 minutes to be served despite the restaurant not being busy. The overall atmosphere was both unpleasant and underwhelming, leaving me profoundly disappointed. The breadsticks were excessively salty, and the beverages were watered down, lacking freshness and tasting stale. The tables were sticky, and the environment was permeated with an odor reminiscent of old grease and neglect. It is perplexing how a restaurant can fail so comprehensively in delivering quality. I left feeling entirely dissatisfied and regretful of the time spent there. I do not intend to revisit or recommend this establishment to others. read more

We arrived at 5 pm and were seated immediately. Nice ambiance and the music and noice levels were comfortable. Restaurant and restrooms were clean. The food was great. Our server, Hailey, was sharp. I do solid yelp reviews and only support places I believe bring good quality food. Servers are often always up in the air everywhere you go. I promise, as a new broil cook at Fort O Applebees, you will get some good food. We have staff, new staff, and improved staff. We came in to the establishment tonight around 7. Our server greeted us, took our drink and appetizer order. A few minutes later he brought those to us and took our order. Thirty minutes later, THIRTY MINUTES, he came back by and said "Have I taken yalls order yet cause I haven't put anything in for y'all". After i said no he brought us our check for the appetizer and drinks and I asked for a manager. I handed her the check and she took care of the appetizer and drinks. The fact that it took him 30 minutes to realize what was going on, plus the audacity of laying a check in front of me after his mistake was enough for me to realize there are other places in FO to take my business to. Arrived at restaurant at at 8:10 on a Thursday evening staff notified me that they were closing the dining room was closed. Then proceeded to see me in the bar area at a high top table which was not accessible for me or my disability. Gave the courtesy to reach out to management and they basically listen to my complaint and said they were working on it. So I ordered from here the first time about a week ago. It was a walk in order to go. They weren't busy so I thought quick in and out. I was told to go to the bar to place my order. When I sat down the waitress asked what I'd like to drink. I told her I was ordering a carry out order. She handed me a menu then went on to clean glasses. I chose my order and pushed the menu away and waited. For nearly 15 minutes I waited. Finally she came back to take my order after waiting on several "regulars" that came and went in the meantime. I said " I have a really simple order for you. 2 chicken Caesar salads and 2 loaded baked potatoes." After she rang it in and gave me a receipt I waited. The time said 12 minutes until my order would be ready. 30 minutes later it finally came. I waited another 10 minutes to actually pay for the food. When I got home (10 minutes away) I unpacked my meal to find a tiny pile of rotten lettuce for each salad, no chicken, hard baked potatoes and what appeared to be bacon bits on them. By this point I'm furious. I called and spoke to the manager Scott. He was amazing. Great manager in a terrible restaurant. He said he'd comp my next meal. Today, one week later, I called to make sure Scott was working so I could get my free meal. I ordered the same things and added the brownies. And got a cup (at most) of romaine lettuce per salad, 2 ounces of chicken and the potatoes were horrible. Maybe a teaspoon of bacon chopped up on it. Steer clear of this store! read more

I have given this location a handful of tries over the years that it has been open, mostly due to others choosing this as the meal option. The food tastes like it was taken1 from the freezer, thrown in the microwave (often not long enough due to the many occasions where food has been served cold to me), & thrown sloppily on a plate. Oil is usually dripping from the items ordered and "refires" take a longer amount of time than what one should have to wait. My water tastes like soap on the last visit. Service is subpar, but on my last visit a girl named Kaitlyn was our server and she checked all of the boxes, outside of asking if our food was good. Probably due to the fact that she knew it would not be from her experiences with other customers. She had a large section of tables and did not seem to miss helping any of them in a timely manner. read more

OK this on is a walking contradiction. Stopped in for a late lunch (2 PM on Friday) and had not been at Applebees in a very long time. It is a standalone restaurant and parking is not a problem and free. Two of us sat at a high top table in the bar area and they were not very busy. We waited longer than I would have liked to get waited on and then after we ordered a Draught Beer!!! For me and a wine for my friend we then had to wait a loooong time to get them. Kind of like going to the doctor and waiting in the waiting room and THEN getting put in a smaller room where you wait again. The lunch menu was a special that was available till 3. We looked over the menu and it said check out the insert for lunch specials. So we had to ask the waitress for that menu, which she found one for us. They have a great lunch menu and the "insert" special said you would get your lunch in 12 minutes or it was free.... Well we should have had that because we ordered lunch off the main menu... I had the French onion soup and oriental chicken salad AND a Sam Adams draught. Ours were 6.99 each I believe so a great deal. My friend ordered an oriental soup and shrimp salad. You are allowed to get a second helping of both if you want them. Well the wait was worth it because both meals were very good. Since we were full my friend asked if we could get our second portion to go and they said yes so that was kind of neat. While the service was very slow and I almost walked out, once we got our food I was OK and it was very good and a great deal for the money. The waitress, while slow was very friendly. The food, while very slow to get was worth the wait. I will give it a 2 for slow service (especially getting our drinks in a reasonable amount of time) and a 4 for the quality of the lunch for the cost - and they had draught beer .... So I give it a 3 and would go again but maybe not at 2 PM. read more

The staff is rude... when they texted us our table ready there was 5 employees at the front hostess stand and stared us down... I had to go up to stand and tell them my name they did not offer or comment and say anything to us..... Since finding a more consistent lunch spot in the area, we haven't been back to this locale in a while. However, we received a holiday gift card that needed using, so dropped in for an early weekend lunch. Since it was shortly after 12PM on a slow Saturday, we expected solid food and service. Unfortunately, the sad and sorry food we were served put the final nail in the Applebee's coffin. Our server was sweet, so we didn't want to stress her with our dissatisfaction, but we couldn't help wonder why things seemed so backed up at noon when the place was mostly empty. Our entrees arrived after a lengthy wait, but our appetizer didn't show until afterward (following a remark to a lady we assumed with a manager). Everything was room temperature, and the rice that accompanied our chicken was cold and hard. Our boneless wing app was dropped off by a third lady who, when we questioned which wings were spicy and which were mild, misinformed us. No harm done as none of the wings were really that spicy, but still, it would have been nice to have been informed in case it was a problem. Though they tasted fine, they were as cold as our entrees and dry, as if they'd sat out for a while waiting for a server to deliver them. We hadn't eaten all morning so we just put our heads down and dug in, but later lamented the waste of a gift card. Which won't happen in the future, Applebee's, believe that. read more

PROPER RIBS HAVE FINALLY BEEN LOCATED! It is shortly after noon and we are in Fort Olglethorpe looking for something to eat. They have several fast food restaurants but few full service ones. After checking Yelp and exploring the other options, we decide to try Applebee's. Of course if we were local, Applebee's would not be an option because we removed them from our dining options years ago. The quality of the food had just diminished to an unacceptable level. So here we go: When we arrive at the restaurant, it is packed. However, as a party of two we are seated immediately in one of the booths. We notice a Presto machine sitting on our table. It allow you to order your appetizer, second drink and your dessert electronically. You may also play games for ninety-nine cents or pay for your meal using this little electronic device. Genius! Our waitress today is Mandy and she gives us plenty of time to review the menu. After studying the menu, we both decide to order the full rack of babyback ribs with the mashed potatoes. I choose the cole slaw as my side, while my husband selects the broccoli. When these ribs arrive, they are exactly what Southern ribs are supposed to be, likely smoked, cooked to perfection with a nice char, and sauced toward the end of the cooking process not after the fact. These are "proper ribs" that I have only been able to get by preparing them myself at home. These ribs need absolutely nothing added although you get the option of the sauce of your choice. Don't do it! It is totally unnecessary. The mashed potatoes appeared to be made with red skin-on potatoes and were delicious. I loved the appearance of my husband's broccoli because they had taken the time to cut up the florets so that they made a better presentation and were easier to eat. I was very hesitant about the cole slaw because locally it was so disgustingly bad, that I actually spoke to the manager about it. If I want cole slaw, I make it myself. So imagine my concern when it became the only viable option for my additional side. Mandy actually reassured me that it would be okay and I would like it so I added it to my order. Good call! This slaw was lightly dressed, cool to taste and the veggies were very crisp and delicious. I loved it! Service was top notch and we enjoyed our meal immensely! Stopped on for a quick lunch today. Parking lot was full, but we had immediate seating. The service was quick, spot on, and everything was as ordered. They have a 12 minute lunch menu, with a select few items, but we chose the Classic & Classic combination of a soup and salad. There are several options for these and 1 time refill on both the soup and salad is included in the price of $6.99. For $1 more, you can make it unlimited refills! And you can switch out the many flavor combinations! Our server, was very attentive to our requests, and we couldn't have asked for better service and value. Went there for lunch and sat at the bar. Food came out fast and was great. The service wasn't so great. My glad was empty after a few bites. Bartender walked by numerous times and never stopped to ask me anything. She never offered a refill. I was drinking tea. Had she been busy I could maybe understand it but there were 5 people at the bar. Three of which came in after me. They were drinking beer and got refills. I didn't tip and that's the first time I've ever left without tipping. I did leave her a note explaining why. Maybe she'll do better. read more

Such a bad experience. :(. There was a 25min wait when I arrived. Totally normal for 7 pm on a Friday night at such a restaurant in this town although there were empty tables on every side of the establishment my entire wait. I told the hostess I would be at the bar. 40 min later I went to check in my table. They had called my name 20 min earlier they said. There was no buzzer given and no intercom system so I sure I missed hearing several names. However I saw the host walk to the bar and gather other patrons and honestly never heard my name even though I was seated no more than 15 feet from the host station. The hostess Abigail was very apologetic for the mistake and sat us right away. Our server came promptly. She was helpful with my questions and prompt to take our orders and refill drinks. I ordered a salad as did my friend. Food came out quickly but it was not as we ordered. We both asked for our dressing on the side. Apparently here that means they still put dressing on your salad and give you some more on the side. Since I am on a strict diet I had to send mine back. I had to get a food runner to help because our server didn't come back to the table for quite some time. When the corrected salad was returned by the manager with an apology, I got about four bites in and ran into candied nuts that were not supposed to be on the salad, and again a big no no with my diet. I had to flag down the waitress and she was very short with me and took my plate away. They did comp the salad off my check but the manager didn't even come to the table to apologize for the mistake. Empty drinks for the last part of out meal and the waitress was just not kind. With all the great places to eat around Chattanooga I have no reason or desire to ever go back to this Applebee's. :( read more

The two of us stopped at Appleby's for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. After being seated at a front booth, waiter Caine greeted us with "How are you today," To which we responded, "Fine how are you?" His answer was, "That remains to be seen." (We considered this to be a very unusual response.") One of us ordered fish and chips with coleslaw; the other, a side salad with French Onion soup. After bringing the water, we wait over 30 minutes with Caine ignoring us. Finally, someone from the kitchen delivered a portion of our meal, the salad without the onion soup, the fish with tartar sauce but without the requested seafood sauce. The thin fries were dry and tasteless. The side salad was limp and did not appear freshly made. By the time the salad was finshed, we had difficulty summoning Caine back to our booth. The soup had been totally forgotten. The coleslaw accompanying the fish was served in a small plastic condiment container (such as is used for small servings of salad dressing.) We ordered additional coleslaw. A different waitress breezed by and stopped to summarily inquire, "How is everything?" We responded rather drily, and emphatically with a shake of the head, "...fair." She quickly left without comment. We finally had the French onion soup brought to the table by Caine. The soup although hot, was overpowered by a strong herb. Two bites and that was enough. We ended with the tiny hot fudge sundae samplars, which turned out to be the best part of our meal. As we departed, we critiqued our service and experience to the hostess as we were leaving. She indicated she would pass our comments to the manager. We know Appleby's can do better! read more

Went to the Ft. O Applebee's a couple days ago. I ordered the $13.49 bourbon chicken. Any another place you go and get a $13.49 dinner meal it would include a salad and rolls. Nope, not at Applebee's. According to the waitress it is a new policy that salad and bread is no longer served with meals. You can order as a side for additional cost if you like. No thank you. Applebee's is now on my do not patronize list. read more
