Hands down the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Our waiter was great but clearly overwhelmed--they were obviously understaffed. The issue wasn't poor service or mistakes by the staff. The food itself was the problem. The fried chicken was disgusting, the steak was bland, and the coleslaw taco appetizer (or whatever they call it) was horrible. Everything was cooked properly, so this doesn't feel like a kitchen error. It feels like a problem with the menu, corporate decisions, or the overall business model. I haven't been here in years, and after this experience, I don't plan on ever coming back. I truly don't think the workers are at fault, but this was still the worst restaurant experience I've had. Applebee's are a great place to get food for their nostalgia. When you grow up in a smaller town, you would consider Applebee's as fine dining. It has many options to choose from. Today is Veterans Day and Applebee's offered a free entree from about 6 or 7 options. Thank you for that. I ordered the Oriental Grilled Chicken Salad. The dressing was a ginger/soy sauce. It was light and tasted quite well. Thank you Applebee's for your gift. Our server was nice and checked on us several times throughout the course of our meal. The ambiance is noting special but it was clean and organized. If you haven't been here, it is worth the visit, especially if you live in the area. read more

This location is hit or miss. The menu is consistent with other locations and no single menu item is great, but there's plenty of specials for food and drinks. The one bright spot at all Applebee's is that they serve Pepsi an ice cold Blue Moon. One thing that is always a struggle is the quality of service. It's a rare occasion that you can get a server that is good. I can understand staffing struggles everywhere, but if they were to have a culture change and possibly training change they could do better if they really wanted to. I got an email offer to test out a new fried chicken sandwich at Applebees, so I figured why not? Went on a Sunday around 2:30 PM and even with football, it was mostly empty. I sat at the bar, had quick service, showed them the email and ordered the sandwich. The chicken breast was HUGE, well-cooked, and seasoned well. The accompanying sauce was a thicker buffalo-style sauce and I used it more for dipping the fries. Fresh vegetables with a good crisp - not wilted. For $10, was a decent deal. I came to this location last night to celebrate Thing Two's birthday. The restaurant was fairly slow, which could be expected for a Monday evening around 6:00 PM. Therefore, we (a total party of 4) were seated right away. We ordered appetizers, and all had individual entrees. Here we go... Brew Pub Pretzels Everyone knows that pretzels are a staple food in pubs, bars, restaurants, and, of course are served with a pint of beer! Its popularity truly has nothing to do with its history but continues to develop and become better than ever with the rise of the foodie culture. Fun fact: Did you know that pretzels are associated with the religious practice called Lent? Back in the 7th century, the Catholic Church had much more strict rules regarding Lent than now. However, because people still needed to eat, the church suggested the pretzel be an ideal food of choice when practicing abstinence. These pretzels served have a tender chew with a lightly crispy exterior. However, the beer cheese that accompanied these pretzels was chalky and left much to be desired. Chicken Wonton Tacos These sweet chili chicken tacos are sweet with flavors of garlic, ginger, soy, and sweet chili sauce. These are light appetizers that are perfect for those who like a little zing. Tex-Mex Shrimp Bowl- Yikes, this entree is extremely bland. The base for this entree (cilantro rice) didn't have any taste whatsoever. It was as if the line cook last night just gave up. The other ingredients did nothing to help the dish as it was mostly Romaine lettuce. Other items ordered include the Bourbon Street Mushroom burger, sweet and spicy crispy sandwich, and a sirloin holiday combo. These entrees fared better than the Tex-Mex shrimp bowl. Came in one afternoon not expecting much (husbands restaurant choice).... however I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed myself and my meal! The highlight of our whole experience was a sweet young lady named Alice. She was extremely attentive and provided fast and friendly service and she catered to our every need! We went there for lunch. Right at noon. Waited for someone to seat us but nobody showed up. There was only 1 waitress serving the whole restaurant which had about 8 tables occupied. The wait staff was overwhelmed and we got the best they could do service wise. However, I put it on the manager for the poor experience b/c basic service (refills, order not right, lack of attentiveness. They just needed more servers. We came here on a Sunday evening and were surprised that the restaurant was mostly empty with no one at the bar. They have 10 flat screens with sports on, but no sound except for a little house music in the background. At least the sparse crowd only accentuated better service. You will notice that on virtually every single table there is a small gaming machine. Not sure why this is a thing, but it must be to get a couple extra bucks out of you and keep the kids distracted. I had two of the five dollar sippers but I could tell there is very little in the way of alcohol in them. They also have a very limited craft beer selection, just one or two comercial options. When the food came out, it wasn't that spectacular, but everyone seemed to be OK with what they got. I got the bacon cheeseburger, but in hindsight, I should've just got the double burger since the patty was thin and overcooked. I have to admit, they do have a lot of offerings on their menu, including some value pairings. We did try the chocolate lava cake with ice cream which was only seven dollars and worth it. Yeah, it's a chain from the era when Bennigan's, TGI Friday's, Chili's, and Ruby Tuesday's were popular, but Applebee's still does a great job at keeping their food and drink menu fresh along with iconic favorites like Double Crunch Wings and Burgers. read more

The service was horrible. It took this lady an hour to take our order. We went there to celebrate a birthday. The waitress took the order of 4 people that got there last. We were seated and waiting. The last to get there got their food ordered and were eating while we waited. Then she took the other 5 people in our party and placed those orders before our order. I asked why not take the entire party's order and place it in at the same time. The food was horrible. I ordered ribs. It was burnt. Who burns ribs? Applebee's burned the ribs? The ribs were burned, dry and hard. Another person ordered wings. The wings were dry and hard and flavorless. I was charged $35 for food. I'll never return to that place. Ordered a Cesar Salad and the cheese was so bad- as soon as I opened the salad it had a bad stench.

I ordered the ribeye steak. I asked for it to be cooked Medium well instead I was given medium rare to medium. I do not personally like to eat meat with blood still coming out of it. The restaurant only had less than 10 people through out the entire restaurant. My waiter said they were just going to put the same steak back on the grill even though it has already been cut into. This will lead to the meat drying out and taste worthless. The menu states that your steak is cooked to perfection. Obviously this a misprint in their menu seeing that is not what I was served. Tonight my family and I decided to dine at the Georgetown Applebees location. The food and service was good overall until I almost choked on a piece of plastic that was buried in my garlic mashed potatoes. The piece of plastic looked like a corner of a thick plastic bag the tip of it was burnt hard and had a sharp point. I decided to stop eating the mashed potatoes at this point and notify my waitress what I found. The waitress took a quick glance and replied with a quick "I'll give you a discount and make sure to remove the three dollars from your ticket." There was no concern of how it got there if I was OK. I never asked for a discount. I didn't ask to get free food. I wanted to bring this to her attention so they can get with the kitchen staff and maybe the manager so that this doesn't happen again instead I got the three dollar discount and what seemed like a total disregard to the bad experience I had and how dangerous it would've been if I actually swallowed the piece of hard burnt plastic. I honestly felt insulted that she did not seem to care, as if she was thinking I was just trying to get a free meal. Not sure I'll be giving this place a second try. Maybe if management was made aware they would have handled it differently. Do better. The least bit of concern would have gone a long way. read more

I saw another employee sitting at a booth so I walked up and asked her about the bartender. Ok, let's face it. This isn't fine dining. But it is a known quantity. And when your Christmas plans changed due to a family emergency and a group wants to eat something, you find any port in a storm. And between the virus, staffing, and supply chain issues, the plain truth is that it's borderline impossible to find Christmas dinner in the Austin metro dinner unless you've made reservations way in advance. After driving past many crowded Chinese options and 24 hour breakfast options, we were all but resigned to getting something from a drive through when we drove past this location a second time and saw the parking lot had emptied out some. The location was short on staff, but both the host and our server Garrett did their best to take care of us and make us feel welcome. The menu was limited for the holiday and they were out of several items (notably their version of a French dip), but we all managed to find something to satisfy the hunger. My babyback ribs were pretty satisfying as I do like grilled ribs and the sweet Asian chili sauce was a welcome change from the usual cloyingly sweet BBQ sauce that most chain restaurants slather on ribs. The other two in our dining party had Caesar salads -- one with shrimp and the other with grilled chicken. Both of them described the salads as a pleasant surprise. Nope, it's not fine dining. It's chain dining. But when you're looking for a late night and/or holiday dining option, this location delivers. read more

my wife and buddy that came Into town, always wondered why the parking lot was ways always empty. we gave it a try and all 3 of us sick to stomach within an hour of leaving. one ordered a burger, one ordered salmon and the last plate was the bourbon chicken.... we didn't share food but all three plates made us very sick. No water, no be right with you..as a matter of fact when I looked around there was 1 waitress on the opposite side of the restaurant. No bartender, no managers. Nothing. I always have loved Applebee's for its consistent service and food selection. Not to mention the drinks which are always refreshing and creative. However this visit wasn't pleasant at all and after traveling through a terrible thunderstorm for a couple of hours on the interstate, my son and I looked forward to resting and recharging with a great meal and amazing service. My daughter was also traveling separately and would join us later on. Not the case at all. Simply put, no greeting from the server, we had to ask for everything from napkins to a drink refill for my son. Condiments and the check. I would have wanted another drink for myself and possibly desert but... I always had to grab the other waiter from the next table or the greeter to go grab her for us. Super annoying and distasteful. The good was mediocre, the broccoli had a strange aftertaste, my robe were okay and my sons fries were the smallest serving we had ever received. Not big deal breakers but I wield hand mentioned this to my server if I'd been asked. I never was. I also would have asked for the manager but felt too deflated from asking others to find my server. When I was asked who my server was, didn't know her name because I was never introduced. At the very end I asked for her again to bring the check and I read her name on the receipt... Samantha. My intention isn't to bring harm, but to hopefully make management aware of increased training opportunities, in hope that others won't experience her poor customer service. The experience was subpar and the taste of the food was a little off. Today I woke up with food poisoning and my boyfriend felt the same. I had to call out of work and I just felt like crap! My boyfriend pointed out that we always feel like this after eating at this particular restaurant. We came tonight 7/22/22 and had no service. We got sat down and waited a long time to get someone to come up to us. We ended up just ordering 3 cakes through the tablet they have. A while after, the server came to ask us what we wanted to drink and she brought them. She asked if we wanted straws and we said yes and she left and never came back nor brought the straws. Someone else brought the cakes later on and I'm convinced he only brought them out because the ice cream was melting. Anyways, good thing for the tablet because we were able to pay and leave. It's Applebee's so I'm not expecting the world... Food is decent, drinks are good and always some sort if special on. My issue is every time we order an appetizer they just bring everything at once.. Not the point of a starter. Let alone because they do this I finish sooner (meaning no more drinks to be ordered) and will no longer spend the extra money on a starter since they can never get their kitchen right. This restaurant is really iffy. I've gotten great food and service, but I've also been served raw shrimp and broccoli on undercooked pasta. It really just depends on the day. A lot of reviews say it's cheap, but it really isn't. My husband and I spend about $85 eating here, and most of the time we leave saying we shouldn't come back. But since there's a line everywhere else, we always seem to be giving it another try. Good news is, their updated menu is pretty decent. Before my family and I sat down, we heard that two other tables had problems with their food and that should've been the clear sign to leave. We heard a waitress say that the shift changed and there should be no problems with the food moving forward and we stayed. BIG MISTAKE! I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita with a sugar rim and received a strawberry marg with a salt rim. While waiting for the right drink, we received our apps and had to wait another 15 to 20 minutes because the plastic utensils that we asked for prior to didn't arrive until I was able to flag another waiter down. By that time our appetizers were cold. There were 4 of us and we each got a 2 for 35, one of each of them included the blackened salmon. We started eating and the salmon was SUPER salty. borderline inedible. We sent both salmons back and was offered to get a replacement meal. I chose a Burger and specifically said; NO CHEESE AND NO PICKLES! Add lettuce, tomatoes, Mayo and ketchup. My sister in law ordered her replacement and the food came back after another 20-30 minutes and I received a PLAIN BURGER with no toppings or condiments. I informed our waiter of the clear mistake and he apologized and said that he would have them fix it and wrap up my sister in laws food up because at that point we have been waiting for about an hour or so to EAT! When the food came back it was all in to-go containers and wrapped up in a bag. I opened it to check the food and the burger was made wrong AGAIN with pickles on top! I am allergic, which is why I specifically said NO PICKLES! I asked for the manager and he apologized and stated that he will have it fixed and to finish enjoying my margarita while waiting for the next remake of the burger.... on an empty stomach I might add! We waited and guess what! The next burger was made the SAME WAY! We were completely annoyed and asked for the check. At that point, only 2 out of 4 of us were able to eat and 2 out of 7 meals that were made were able to be consumed! We we're beyond OVER IT! The check came back and almost everything was still on there and they still charged us for both of the salmon that was sent back the first time! The manager came back to try and "rectify" the situation and was no help at all! They took $35 off the bill, but it was them including the salmon the was not eaten because it was SALTY. We were also told that we couldn't bring the replacements that cannot be eaten in the first place home unless we would have to be charged for that as well. Terrible service! TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! Not to mention the the tile above us was holding on for dear life and the ceiling behind us was leaking! NEVER WILL I EVER GO BACK. read more

If I could put no stars, I would. Do not come to this establishment if you want correctly ordered food. My family and I decided to go to Applebees for happy hour and some food. We ordered our drinks, apps and food all at once. We asked for a sugar rim on one of the margaritas- We got a salty and incorrect drink instead-- soon after it was corrected. We asked for utensils after getting our food and they didn't bring us any so we had to ask another waitress for the utensils. As for the food, it was extremely salty and we had to send it back for something else. We were very clear about the instructions for the food and they brought food with no sauce or anything on it after we asked for condiments and specific toppings. After sending that back again, they gave us food with a topping that one of us is incredibly allergic too (we asked them at this point twice to not add that topping). We ended up speaking to the manager who stated that if we wanted to wait for the food to be made correctly then we can stay and finish our alcoholic beverages on an empty stomach because we haven't gotten our food yet. They come back again with, I kid you not, THE SAME FOOD MADE THE SAME WAY, with the topping that we are allergic too. The manager comes over and tells us that he took the money off but after doing the math, he still proceeded to charge us full price for the meals. 2/7 meals they brought over to us were consumed. They said we had to leave our food there and couldn't take it with us if we wanted the money taken off in which we proceeded to tell them that we can't even do that because they put stuff on the food that we're allergic to. There was water dripping from the ceiling at the table in front of us and tiles falling off with water damage. Never going back, the manager is a condensing asshole who doesn't actually care about the service of his customers and the workers are absent minded. The cooks brains put together are equivalent to that of a newborn. People all around us were getting incorrect orders and uncooked steaks.
