It has been several months since I have visited outback steakhouse. My visit this time was a mid week treat for a stressful day. Service was outstanding, friendly and attentive without being overbearing and suffocating. The recommended wine paired well with my meal and really hit the spot. From the Caesar salad to the fillet and lobster tail and loaded baked potato it was simply delicious. Great food, wonderful service, decent price for value received. It won't take me as long to come back as it did this time. If you're looking for a wonderful steak, great service don't forget outback. read more

Did not feel like a steakhouse at all The doorway to the restrooms was shared by staff going to the kitchen and since we were seated by them we saw numerous near misses as they came in and out of that portal. We asked for boosters as our toddlers are petite - they wanted to sit us at a half chair half bench table. so if sit them over there - how do we help them eat reaching over the table is a little far so i had to ask if we could sit at the open booth...she did not look pleased but obliged. We all ordered a cheeseburger/fries - and my fav their caesar salad - everything tasted off. . It's been a few years since we've been to outback (babies ) but man... the buns weren't the same 0 they were shiny and different. the meat tasted like it had been seasoned with chicken bouillon ...and had a very salty brothy flavor. I ate half bc i paid for it but honestly I'd never order that again. the caesar salad also tasted off... just nothing id rush to order again. They lost the tuna appetizer. the entree salads, queensland salad. etc. I mean, it was like visiting an old friend and just couldn't remember why we were friends in the first place. Even the restrooms didnt have the same Yardley soap I'd always loved... or the thick almost fabric like hand towels had been replaced with boring cardboard like single paper towels. It was so sad. This is a tough one to write. Outback has always been my go to place for years. I went for lunch at this newer location in Round Rock. I ordered my usual, the 6 ounce top sirloin steak. I got it medium medium, with two sweet potatoes as my side order. The steak was not up to its usual quality. I know a top sirloin is not a premium cut, but outback has always had a way of making it feel like it is. It was just a little on the tough side. Other than that, the sweet potatoes were excellent, and my dining partner felt about the same way about her steak. The service was wonderful, and the young lady that waited on us was very friendly and helpful. And as usual, Outback has a great environment, clean, restrooms, and lots of hospitality. I will go back and try again, and possibly try a steak of a higher quality cut. read more

Was super excited to come here for lunch after receiving a gift card for Christmas. We arrive and the hostess seats us immediately. It's a little busy for lunch and we see that there is only one server working so we wait patiently. Five minutes go by and no acknowledgement from anyone, which is unfortunate but whatever we keep waiting. I make eyes contact with the server a few times hoping he'll come over and maybe say "I'll be with yall in a few moments", but nope, nothing. We start to get a bit frustrated but again they're busy with not a lot of workers so it's fine. Well, it was fine until the hostess sits a new party and the server IMMEDIATELY walks over to their table to greet them and take their order. Frustrated and hangry we just got up and left to go somewhere else. The lady that was giving us waitress.I barely even checked on us.We actually had to get another server, which he was doing in an amazing standout job three times saying, hey, where is our waitress at. The service was by far the worst I've ever had. We got there @12:15 and didn't get our food till @1:30. we waited an hour for our food and it's not like we were a big party, it was just 3 of us. The server only came to check on us 2 times, one for the drinks and the other one to replace our drinks since we had been waiting for so long that the ice melted. It's not like the restaurant was busy for him to actively ignore us, like he would look at us for like one second and avoid our table repeatedly. Even those who got there after us got their food within 20 mins of them ordering. The burger was gross with all respect, like the bun was cold and the meat was... something. Well, the Outback Steakhouses of old are just that, in the past. This one was terrible. We ordered two cheeseburgers and fries, and that was our first mistake. The burger was odd, seemed like the meat was mixed with a filler, much like a bread, milk, egg, beef mixer, much like a meatball consistency. The bun tasted like and looked like a frozen bun that was recently thawed. It crumbled when handled, as did the meat. The fries, were limp, cold, and sorry! Our second mistake, was that we didn't leave sooner. This is what a restaurant serves up, when they lack a passion for cooking and frankly no longer give a damn. Back in the day, Outback was loicated in the antique mall in Round Rock and was not open for lunch. They recently moved north a bit so I thought we would try lunch at the new location where Mimi's Restaurant used to be. up by the outlet mall. The restaurant was extensively remodeled and was actually quite modern and attractive. Not my father's dated Outback! I had a small center cut sirloin steak with a baked potato . It was perfectly grilled to medium rare and the potato was great. Only $13.99! My buddy had a burger and fries and thought it was very good. The service was great. We will be back! read more

Food was good. But the whole restaurant was FILTHY. When I dined it was busy but not busy enough to neglect sweeping and picking up used disposable gloves and food from the floors. At our table once sat, there was a whole chicken strip meal on the floor under the table and three towels/napkins from silverware from customers before. We had to request to get that taken care of. The menus were all sticky, greasy and full of crumbs. The manager would walk past receipts , towels, and disposable gloves on the floor and not pick anything up or even delegate anyone to do so. It is very obvious that cleanliness is not a priority or standard at this location. I cannot imagine how the kitchen operates behind closed doors. I would not return nor recommend this location to family or friends. read more

The food here isn't bad-- the steak was a little bit saltier than their usual but I could live with that. What I can't live with is having a 30 minute wait for a table when 2/3 of the restaurant is empty. This means that on a Sunday, during the lunch hour, management did not staff the restaurant and there are not enough servers or cooks. There are folks sitting outside en masse waiting for a table for families of 6, and half a dozen more waiting for a two top. Sadly, they're turning away customers. read more

I love the French Onion Soup from Outback but I was quite disappointed today. I ordered a bowl to go. Typically they will wrap the bread and cheese in a separate foil from the bowl of soup so that when you're ready you can rewarm it, add the bread/cheese and enjoy. This also helps to avoid an overly mushy soup; however, that is exactly what I received today. The soup was almost non-existent because the bread soaked it all up and it was just a bowl of mush. Like I said, I do love their soup but unfortunately they missed the mark on this visit. read more

This is a new location from the Outback we visited years ago and wow what a difference for the better! Brighter and cleaner inside. Staff were all friendly and provided excellent service. Salad was crisp and cold, free bread with butter was warm and soft, baked potato cooked to perfection. My husband said steak was better quality than he remembered and I like the many options of shrimp and chicken. Now this is not Double Cut level but price shows reflects this. It took 20 minutes for the hostess to let us sit down at the empty table. Then another 30 minutes to get our drinks. I was ready to leave since the service was so bad. But my husband insisted that we stay. The food was terrible, it took almost an hour to get our steaks. The steaks were horrible. We had to send them back. And they were still terrible after they brought out new steaks. The manager was supposed to come by, but never showed up. Wasted money on crappie meat. The worst service ever. read more

From the first contact with Eva the host who was friendly and happy, to Kristi the server who was kind and helpful, to Ray the manager who you can tell really cares about this place- the dining experience for my girls and I was awesome. The garlic steak was tender and absolutely delicious, the kids chicken tenders are kid approved, and the Queensland pasta is a huge serving of really tasty pasta. We have always liked outback but the staff at this location really bumped this up to a restaurant we will be returning to when we eat out next. We have been anxiously waiting for this to open since we live nearby. I have to say, I was so impressed with service and food. I haven't been to an outback in years because I wasn't a fan of the other location in Round Rock. We went at lunch time. We had so much bread & butter offered to us we even took some home. Food was hot and cooked to order. Service was beyond exceptional. Everyone was was pulling the weight of each other and that was what caught me off guard. Floor manager was checking all the tables. I highly recommend this location. I was eager to leave a much deserved tip in hopes they pool the tips. We will definitely be back as often as we can. read more

I'm a giving 4 stars instead of 5 stars for a few reasons. First we got our side salads out first and upon finishing them the waitress left them on our table in the way the entire time. We would have asked to have them taken away but we only saw her one more time after our food arrived until our bill came. Second the food (except salads) was fairly spicy. Third my Wife's veggies were undercooked and still fairly hard. Overall an average experience that wouldn't make us want to run back to Outback quickly. read more

Blooming onion is always a must! It's exactly what you think, fried onion with a zesty dipping sauce. It's huge and delicious, however you can only eat so much! It's huge! Wish there was a half order option or a mini blooming onion. This location recently opened and is fully staffed. Attentive staff ! The food was okay. It met expectations of a Outback. The cheeseburger was okay, kids food was okay, French onion soup and baked potato okay. The free bread was warm and a hit. We will come back to try steaks as it's more known for. read more

Awesome experience! We live right down the road so we've seen this location throughout its build and have been excited to have it so close. You never know what you're going to get when you visit within the first day or two, but this experience was perfect. Staff was very well trained from the door greeting to the ordering to the quality of the food. Our waiter (Cooper, legitimately from Australia haha) was super friendly and very attentive. You could tell he was new (as everyone was, obviously) but he made the experience perfect for our entire family. My wife ordered a margarita flight (boomerita, served on a boomerang) which she loved, and a steak which was cooked exactly as requested. I simply had the grilled chicken sandwich which was perfect as well. Due to its proximity and the great experience, absolutely no question we will return frequently! read more

When this new one opened steaks and salad were GREAT. I have been a couple of time since and the salad looks like in an iceberg head I am getting all the white hard part. I used to love their salad. And the last time I went which was last Tuesday, my daughter and I had to send our steaks back because they were rare and we wanted medium and medium well. I wish I could give it negative stars. Spent over one hundred dollars on two meals the sirloin steak and shrimp and the 34 dollar 15 oz ribeye and baked potato and broccoli. I can't get the broccoli chewed up enough to swallow. The steak is tough like I'm chewing on a work boot and the potato was raw. The service was terrible. We tried the new Outback location for Father's Day. It wasn't overly crowded and only waited about 20 min for a table. After we sat down, the waiter came and greeted us within a few minutes. I really like the new, lighter decor design in the dining room. Pretty cool light fixtures too. Good so far. My husband ordered a drink and I ordered a club soda with lime. A few minutes later, a bus boy brings us 2 styrofoam cups with lids - the kind they bring to kids filled with water. I was a bit confused and asked why we could not have regular glasses. "oh, we are out of them and they are washing them now", he said. What ...???? BUT.. when my husband's drink from bar came out, it was in a glass. So I guess the bar had glasses??? So I just asked for a Pelligrino instead so I could get a real glass. SO stupid. Ok I'm over it now but then the waiter comes back to take our order. I asked for the 12oz prime rib - medium. Oh - sorry we are out of prime rib! On Father's day - really? I could get a rib eye instead. So I settled for the grilled rib eye. Same cut of meat but definitely not the same taste. I asked for medium, and a baked potato with just sour cream and chives only. I can't do butter. We waited 35-40 minutes for our meal to come. My rib eye was a piece of charcoal. Besides being well done, it was completely inedible with inordinate amount of salt/seasonings on it. On top of that, my baked potato had butter and chives - no sour cream. Geesh - I'm batting a thousand here! So I sent both back and reiterated - rib eye, medium and very light salt/pepper and correct potato. Thankfully, my husband's steak and lobster was decent except for the greasy broccolli with bacon and tons of seasoning, again. So he ate while I watched for next 15 min till my new rib eye came out overflowing the very small dinner plate with a "salted" baked potato next to it. The rib eye was done to medium so I was looking forward to digging in - finally. Rib eyes are a fattier piece of beef but this one was more than half fat. I guess the chef didn't think I deserved a decent cut of rib eye after sending the other back. When I managed to get to the meat part, it was again overseasoned and quite inedible. I gave up, left it on my plate and just ate the inside of the baked potato for dinner. To his credit, the manager did come over and apologize for the meal and when we went to pay, he had removed the rib eye from our bill. I appreciated that since it was inedible and I had left it all on the plate uneaten. The folks next to us told us that Outback has a special blend of seasoning they put on their steaks and we should always order "no seasonings on steaks" because they are usually pretty heavy handed with it. I think we will stick to Longhorn Steak house from now on. read more

It was a pretty chill night but still steadily busy. We'd been sat down for over 5 minutes without a peep from the wait staff caring for others...like I said, steady. I made eye contact with a server, she instantly came over. I said, "I'm thirsty and hungry, no one has stopped by. Can you help?" She smiled so big, "I sure can!" She produced 2 drink napkins and whipped out her pad & pen. We knew what we wanted and she submitted it immediately. I'm moments we had our drinks, along with a carafe to match. With the explanation of: I'm in another area so these are in case I can't get to you fast enough. Our salads came, delish and exactly as ordered. The rib eye and fully loaded baked potato were PERFECT! Mary, our server, was a veteran pro!!! It was like having a caring mom take care of us! I cannot recommend this place enough. Our experience was excellent due mostly to our server, Jared. He truly made the experience. Friendly, attentive, and helpful since we hadn't been to Outback in a while. My husband had the coconut shrimp meal which was wonderful. I had fried mushrooms which were the best I've had in many other restaurants, crispy and flavorful. It was such a generous helping I took most of them home. I also had the beef and barley soup which was a bit spicier than I like but still very tasty. Oh my gosh! What is going on at the Outback in Round Rock? I placed a pick up order through the app at 1:13 today for a pickup time of 2:15. I arrived a few minutes early. When I had not received my order by 2:30, I went inside the front to check on it. The hostess said they were backed up and it would be about 15 minutes. After 20 more minutes of waiting, at 2:50 I called the restaurant from my car to speak to the manager. He said he would check on my order and get it out to me. Finally, after waiting more than 40 min he brought it out at 2:57. NO APOLOGY whatsoever for the long wait! My husband ordered his steak Medium and I added a special instruction for the other steak to be Medium Well. Both steaks were way overdone, burned on both sides. How can a steak restaurant not cook steaks correctly??? Very, very disappointed with the entire experience. read more

I had not been for awhile and someone gave us a gift card for Xmas. I like the new location because it much closer and a better part of town. It took a while to order drinks but they did deliver. We asked for sweet and low and lemons with out teas. We didn't ask once, twice but three times before we got them. We were told they were out of Prime Rib. How do you run out of prime rib on a Monday night at 5:30pm? The food came out super slow. The appetitizer, blooming onion, was very greasy. It was about 30 minutes before the salads arrived and the meal came soon after. We really didn't have time to finish our salads. Overall the meal was ok but not great. I did try the cajun steak topping which was very good but my steak seemed to need seasoning. My wife's steak was much better than mine. All and all an ok visit but doubt we will be back. If I had paid for the meal I might have be upset, it is what it is. For the prices there are much better steak restaurants. FYI my neice who is Australian, hates when someone says "shrimp on the barbe", they just don't say that! Please family no Outback gift cards! read more
