Went here last night (7/5/2014). Service was, as always, abysmally SLOW, and this time the food was also mediocre to poor. Wife had the Chicken Fajita Wrap that was practically void of chicken! Her wrap was supposed to come with dipping sauce, but didn't. The food deliverer said she'd bring some, but never made it. I had the ribs which arrived dry and luke- warm. This was after waiting nearly an hour, so we were so hungry we just ate it anyway. There were very few people there, so was not at all busy - therefor no excuses. The manager did give us $10 off a $70 tab when we complained. This restaurant seems to have a very high personnel turnover. Wonder why.... Perhaps the owner should study up on what it takes to run a restaurant. read more

This place is an embarrassment to our town. Horribly slow service and average food. Makes me sad that it is right off I-5 and the only 'Grants pass' some see. On behalf of our sleepy little town I apologize for this chain restaurant, even better....avoid this restaurant if possible. read more

Applebees we all know is a chain. As chains go, this one is pretty good. They spent time training their staff to be super friendly, and fairly efficient. We stopped in on a Thursday night, and the place was nearly full at 6:30 pm. By the time we left, there were people waiting for tables. We tried the 2 for $20 special dinner. I had a small, delicious steak, baked potato, fresh vegetables. My other half had a lime chicken dish that he said was ok, but nothing special. The dinners included an appetizer to share. We ordered Mozarella Cheese Sticks. They were gooey naughty goodness. Don't be counting the calories and order these. Beverages are extra. Nice evening for under $30 for two people. And that included beverages and a generous 20% tip, because the service was quite good. read more

If you are passing by Grant Pass, Oregon, for your own sake, just avoid to eat at Applebee's. I had tonight the worse experience of my life. I had to leave all my food as served on the plate, a sirloin steak which was served twice totally uncooked, and this following the manager personal involvement! In addition to this, the onion soup was served cold, only the cheese was somehow melted, had to be returned to the kitchen to be warmed. Finally the warmed soup and the uncooked sirloin were served together. Not to mention the ice water which had undefined floating debris...My wife had to eat her food alone and I am going to bed hungry and angry. Very bad cook, bad management. read more

I don't know why I continue to give this place a chance. They ALWAYS disappoint! Had to stay in town for the second night in a row due to the snow and road conditions at my home. So mom and I went to Applebee's. The only menu item I rarely have a problem with is the Oriental Chicken Salad. That was my plan, but the menu cover had this appetizing and very appealing meal with a steak covered with shrimp with some sort of sauce. I showed the waitress the picture and said, "I want this." Showed her the picture! It was on the cover of the special menu. On the cover. The ONLY picture on the cover! So it isn't a tiny picture. Honkin' Big. Our wait for our meal seemed a little longer than usual (the folks behind us were served their meal within 5 minutes). I received my meal and although I hollered after my waitress, she didn't hear me. My mashed potatoes were COLD. Not even warm. My steak was WELL. And chewy. (I asked for Medium.) And the shrimp were still in the ocean somewhere as they were NOT on my steak. My mom's meal was also cold. I asked the host to get my waitress and when she came back I asked her where my shrimp were. She asked me "Did you order shrimp?" WTF, I showed her the GD picture where there are clearly shrimp swimming atop the steak! She said, "I'll go get you some shrimp." Another five minutes go by. I used the little game/appetizer order kiosk thingy on the table to notify my waitress that I needed her and still no response even though she was behind me delivering the people's order. The bloody thing has a flashing red light for criminy sake. So I get on my cell phone and call the Applebee's and ask for the manager and I ask her to come to my table. As she gets to my table, the waitress (finally) shows up with my shrimp. Meanwhile, my barely lukewarm meal is now cold and mom is nearly done with her meal. So I explain the situation to the manager. I tell her that I know this isn't a five star restaurant, not even a three star restaurant, but that when the food is brought out, it should be at least warm, not cold. My steak was tough and chewy (besides being WELL and cold); my mashed potatoes were cold. The manager apologized and really went into some excuses about what she was doing. She said that they had new management since the 1st (it was the 4th), and that they were working on things and that this kind of thing shouldn't happen. I told her that everytime I came here this happened. Everytime. (This Applebee's once actually made me miss a airplane flight they're that slow.) She offered to redo my meal, but I said, "My mom is done with her meal - even though it was cold as well." I was just so overwhelmed and upset with the experience, I told her I didn't want anything. She comped mom's meal (and obviously mine) and off we left with me still hungry and very upset. I asked my mom, "Did you think the manager came off as condescending?" And she felt as I did. So even though they have NEW management (for four whole days), this Applebee's still sucked. This will be the very last time I give them a second (or 20th) chance. read more

Always been pleased with Applebee's! This location was clean, and the waitresses were all very attentive and personable.

They always surprise me by having better good than I expect. They've updated the interior and gotten rid of the tacky Americana junk that was covering every surface, its much more pleasant now. read more

We were a party of five (four adults, one child) on a Saturday evening. The restaurant wasn't too crowded and we were seated quickly. The waiter was running around, took awhile for the menus to show up. When we were ready to order, I requested "NO MSG" in my food ... uh? Waiter brought over their Allergy notebook and left it for me to find the meal I was gonna order to confirm there wasn't any MSG. Think the meal would have tasted better with MSG as it was without any flavor whatsoever; the chicken was somewhat dry. It was some kind of curly pasta with artichoke hearts and crispy spinach. Others at the table said their chicken was dry too. Think I'll find somewhere else to eat in the future. read more

Not impressed...I do not generally eat at franchise or box type places...however it was an exception due to time. We had a new waiter - he was fine..the food was not so good..the Cesar salad was terrible! The lettuce was terrible..brown, wilted..yuck..The penne pasta had few strings of linguini mixed in! Like someone's old dish had been plopped into mine! Silver was dirty. The potato bacon soup...2 times..had no bacon..hummm..ok..2nd chance..won't try that again. We ate here recently again. And that will be the last time for a while. Our service was very slow, the ice waters had big floaties, which was not lemon. The spinach dip was burnt on the edges with a big ball of cheese, and puddle of oil in the center. My salad was beyond wilted. And my husband's order came out wrong. We walked out. read more

Had a take out of a hamburger for 10$. The dry greasy piece of meat was slapped between two dry hard buns. There was NOTHING else on the burger. The meat tasted of old grease and I had to clean my mouth out after tasting it. I don't plan on trying their food again. read more

Saturday 5:30p and we were greeted warmly and was sat at the round table in the bar, we were greeted about 5 minutes later with a drink order, I had the pomegranate lemonade and my wife tried the peach whiskey sour, the new menus just came out so my wife had the shrimp stir fry and I had the sirloin stir fry, we look at the presto tablet for any ideas on appetizers or desserts and I ordered the churros with chocolate sauce and went ahead and ordered it with 2 spoons, we were waiting for our order when the churros came out minus the spoons, then about 15 minutes later our meal came out, its already 6:10 then we ate and finished our meal and asked for 2 spoons which finally came, service is not quite what I expected but also it was reflected in the tip, which you can pay on the kiosk, the food was good, and the drinks were excellent, I will be back. read more

I used to think Applebee's was just an expensive notch up from McDonalds...but they've improved...at least at this location. We decided to just get something edible on a Saturday night and While staying overnight in Grants Pass, found this Applebee's. It was crowded, but the wait was only a couple of minutes. The hostess sat us with a smile on her face and our drink orders were taken almost immediately. We ordered the artichoke appetizer which was small for 2 people, but very tasty and hot. I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad and my dining partner ordered the Chicken and Broccoli fettuccine. When they arrived after a very brief wait, they were huge and delicious. The chicken in both was spiced just right, the alfredo on the fettuccine was creamy and rich, and the dressing for the chicken salad was delicious (I wonder if they sell it separately)!!! This is APPLEBEE'S!!! Who knew?!?!?!? Neither of us could finish our entrees, but that didn't keep us from ordering dessert. This was the only area that was dissapointing. My partner ordered the Dessert Shooters (pudding and ice cream with oreo cookie crumbles) and I ordered the Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae. The cookie was soft and rubbery and tasteless. The Shooters were Jello pudding cups. Service was outstanding and the waitress insured we never had to wait for beverage refills or anything else. She wasn't pushy, but was attentive. I have never been in this place when it was anywhere near empty which is neat for Applebee's but kind of a pain in the butt for their customers. I have kind of a light voice so the loudness of the place can kinda overpower my conversation really easily. The pasta dishes are very good and have nice portions. The steaks however, consistently taste rubbery and cheap. It's a very average experience, there are worse places locally, but there are way better places as well. read more

We've had a great Applebees experience everytime we come here. They've corrected orders, subbed the bill when it was wrong and have always made it right with us with mistakes. We always come back. Their food is excellent. I recccomend the fiesta lime chicken or clubhouse grill with sweet potato fries for an appetizer. Anyone with a bad experience please give it another shot we did and we have not been disappointed. Even the best places have bad days. read more

Dirty restaurant!! Terrible service!! Love most Applebees but I will never go back to this one in Grants Pass.

The mushroom swiss burger was delicious. Sweet spicy asian wings were amazing and the patrón margaritas were great as well. However, i stood at the front waiting to be seated for several minutes while the hostess was flirting across the restaurant with some guy. Even the manager saw me standing there nit being helped and did nothing. My waitress was great though. Four stars for the food and two stars for the staff. read more

Worst Applebee's ever!!!! We were sat at a dirty table that was so sticky with bbq sauce. We never recieved utensils or napkins. The waiters changed the whole time we were there so we had no idea who was helping us. Took forever for the food that we got the appetizers with the main course. First time eating at an Applebees. Had to wait about 15 minutes before someone came over to give me a menue. The waiter was nice and took my order. I ordered the chicken tenders and to be perfectly honest, they were not very good. It felt like I was eating crunchy breading and no tender chicken. Drowned it with honey mustard to make it more palatable. I could have gone to McDonalds for half the price and the food would have been better. Applebees, get your stuff together!!! read more

I ordered a DoorDash delivery last night because I had to babysit. My order experience was fine and the delivery took about an hour.I ordered the 2 entrees and an appetizer for$22.00. I ordered 2 burgers and spinach appetizer. The order was wrong . No appetizer. One burger was missing all the condiments- pickles , pepper Jack cheese and tomatoes and bun. . I got a burger with cheddar cheese. No bun and a bunch of lettuce leaves for a wrap. I also got bacon. I don't eat bacon and didn't order it. I called to complain that night a z mind was told to come by the restaurant and they would make it good. I drove there after work with my receipt and was told to wait while they talked to a manager. I was then told since it came from DoorDash I needed to contact them. I would have skipped driving down to Applebee's if that was what I was going to be told. I won't go back to Applebee's or use DoorDash again. DoorDash did say they will reimburse me $8.97 . My $ 22.00 dinner was 45.67 and I wasn't happy with either the restaurant or DoorDash. read more

This is not my first time in, the last was at least a year ago and much like this visit. I really like other Applebees and was hoping it improved, sadly not. Stopped in for lunch about noon. We where not greeted at the door, but made our way to the bar. Shortly after seating ourselves our drink and lunch orders were taken. It took 45 minutes to get our food. We came for a late lunch, and our booth is dirty, their is food and trash in the back of the seat. I came with my sister in law and mother in law and our kids... The server came and took everyone's drink order except for mine and my two girls. I had to ask for my drink multiple times. I ordered appetizers and my order was wrong, they fixed it, but my tacos were really cold. My girls food didn't even get sauce for their shrimp and chicken. Our checks were wrong also. read more

first off, my husband and i are from Phoenix az. we used to go to applebees multiple times a week.. we havent been in about 4 years and i will say this.. IM NEVER GOING BACK.. WORST.. and i mean the worst customer service i have EVER.. Had.. our food took 45 minutes to come out and by that time we had both had two drinks. by the time the food came we were so irritated we had them box it up. than come to find out MY Dinner was never even put on the ticket, so it wasnt ordered. so i ended up going home and eating cereal.. for dinner, after i just ordered at 16.99 Dinner.. 10/4/18 - We have frequented this restaurant numerous times for lunch, but never again. Yesterday we went in and ordered. There were 3 of us and 2 of the orders came out incorrect. One was a misunderstanding on the item ordered, the other was a steak that was cold. We told the waitress and she took the food and said they would fix. When the steak came back a second time it was way rare...not medium as ordered. Once again the waitress was notified that this was again not right! At this point the rest of the table had finished our meal, but we encouraged her to order something else. She decided on boneless bbq wings and fries. Should be simple right? 45 minutes later we finally told them to put them in to-go containers. We have been there 2 hours by this time!!! Then when the bill came they charged us for the chicken wings. Also at no time were we ever visited by a Manager or acknowledged that this was less than satisfactory. Also while sitting where we were on numerous occasions a very strong and awful smell of sewer would emit from the restrooms every time someone went in or out. Not very appetizing when trying to eat. Needless to say we will NOT be frequenting this place again. read more

We eat here about once a month. This has nothing to do with how amazing the place is, but everything to do with my picky children's love for piecing together their own meals out of the kid menu options. It is fairly clean, and what you would typically expect for a chain restaurant. Its decorated with local and national memorabilia just like any other Applebees, though leans heavily to favoring the well funded schools and ignoring the rest. The menu is the same as any other also. Our experience is the wait staff are always accommodating and friendly and usually good with fielding my sons many questions about his food. We usually stick to the 2 for $20 menu, and generally have a good experience with what comes out. Lately the chips have been unusually soggy and greasy in the Spinach and Artichoke Dip appetizer, but when we have pointed it out they replace it no problem. They did take away our favorite desert, but have some delicious other options. Be aware that if THEY make a mistake though, YOU are required to pay for it. So remember to check your order, if something extra comes out or something different then what you ordered do not eat it but send it back unless you don't mind paying. All in all, I would recommend this place for families and those with children who need a little extra patience due to behavior disorders or otherwise. The wait staff is always very patient and engaging with my son who has two. On the time or two I have eaten here on a girls night out with friends, we have also had excellent experiences with the well mixed drinks. Not heavily alcoholic, which you would also expect from a chain restaurant, but well mixed and usually delicious. I am a fan of the flavored mojitos! Not an amazing or unforgettable place to eat by any means, but consistent in its atmosphere, food and staff. An ol' reliable if you will. read more

The service was horrible to say the least. We were seated in a timely manner and sat for over 10 minutes before anybody came to offer us a drink. We ordered our meals and it took about 20 minutes to get the food, then we were forgotten about. They did not come back to see if we needed anything or even see how we were doing. My boyfriend and I eat here all the time and we are always satisfied. My favorite is the three cheese chicken penne and the honey bbq boneless wings. You can't go wrong with this combo because it's on the 2 for $20 menu and it's delicious every time! This is the 3rd time that we have been disappointed with both the service and the food. 3 times I have tried to order the beef enchiladas only to be told that they are out. It is 6:30...maybe they should be planning better? Then, when drinks were delivered, mine never showed up. When we asked about it, we were told that they no longer carried Bahama Mamas. .I would think they could have said something right away rather than waiting until we had to ask about it. I've eaten at the Medford location maybe 4 times - the 2 for 20 was a good deal. When I went with my son 2 nights ago it was a terrible experience. My entree came out barely lukewarm. I sent it back. What a mistake. It took a good 25 minutes for it to come back. And it was STILL lukewarm. To add insult to injury, when I got the bill they charged me TWICE for the entree!!!! And for 6 bucks the dessert tasted like a Little Debbie's snack cake. Not going back. read more
