ALL is forgiven. Today I went to Sweet Rea and was given a five star breakfast. The chicken fried steak was fork tender, the hash browns cooked perfectly, the eggs cooked perfectly and the toast was just right. Quite a change from my last experience. The restaurant was clean, the service was great and the staff were . Thank you for today. I will return again and again

Good portions, good food and great staff. Another place we had wished we would have found years ago. Our group had a mixtures of brisket salad, some burgers and french dip and all were excellent. Coleslaw does have those dried cranberry raisin things in it. That could be good for some people or shocking to others so I wanted to call that out. All the sides were good, another thing i judge a place on. You got to have good sides to go along with the mains.

Wow! We were looking for someplace to grab a quick breakfast before heading north. My wife did a quick search on Yelp and came across this place We checked out their menu online. The breakfast menu includes plates, skillets, omelets, biscuits and gravy and burritos. The meat options include: bacon, sausage, pulled pork, Tri-tip, chorizo, brisket, ham pork chops and country fried steak. We did not even check out the rest of the menu. We decided to get breakfast burritos. We made a quick call to make sure they were open on Christmas eve, and they were. All breakfast burritos come with egg, cheese, hash browns, onions and peppers. My wife chose the BMP (bacon, mushroom, pepperjack) and I chose the Wilber (pulled pork and Carolina mustard) We arrived and walked inside. There were a few others, placing oders or picking up to-go orders. The place itself is simple and nothing fancy but appeared clean. There were a few tables inside and what appeared to be an outdoor seating area. When it was our turn, we approached the counter and our order was already bagged up and ready to go with the extra salsa we asked for. We opened the bag when we got the car and were surprised how big the burritos were. We each took a few bites and thought they were very tasty. The Wilber had a lot of pulled pork and the Carolina mustard was not over powering. I was really impressed with the taste. My wife said the BMP burrito was amazing as well. It was packed with lots of goodies and they weighed a ton. Would definitely recommend and go back when in the area.

There's a cool wood-fired oven for pizza, which was a fun process to watch. I ordered the patty melt, which is something I never order, but I was in a rush to decide & did one of those, "I'll have what he's having" things when my husband ordered his patty melt. We're big seltzer water people, so when we went to order a seltzer and the lady told us it was free and self-serve, I was elated. The food didn't take very long & it was tasty looking! The sandwich was cut in half with smashed burger meat overflowing past the bread. It was glorious. The part of the plate that wasn't dominated by melty goodness was filled with with well-seasoned and crisp homemade fries. I could smell how delicious everything was the moment the moment the plate was set down in front of me. Flavor & texture of all the things exceeded expectations. The patty melt had layers of crispy fried onions that made for a lovely and tasty first-bite surprise, & continued to bring joy with each subsequent bite. Every there was incredibly nice and friendly. Dining there was so easy and lovely. Would love to come back the next time we pass through!

I ordered the steak and eggs (medium rare, asked for it on the rarer side since you never know with steak), and it came out perfect -- great char on the outside, tender and juicy inside. Exactly how it should be. Also... don't skip the specials on the chalkboard there's always something worth trying. And the crepe berqueno is AMAZINGGG -- seriously out of this world. In my opinion, it's the best savory crepe ever. I always customize mine by adding egg and avocado and it never misses. The atmosphere is what really makes this place special though. The owner, Gab, is always there making sure everything runs smoothly, and you can tell he genuinely cares. Him and his son Brandon take great care of their guests and make you feel like more than just a customer. Service can be a little slower at times, but honestly... give them grace. They're balancing a busy spot, connecting with locals, and creating a really welcoming vibe. It feels lived-in, not rushed -- and that's part of the charm. Nothing but love for this place. ‍

Our seating was in the bar downstairs which was very busy and noisy which was ok for 2 of us unfortunately 2 of our party were deaf and that was an issue for visiting. Our dinners: clam linguine, small clams in butter wine sauce was good, lots of broth and noodles could have had more clams. Dinner salads were great, big, crisp and fresh. Hubby had the meatballs with whipped potatoes, not a big meal but very tasty. I often buy ribeye steaks at the Cartwright's market and they are wonderful. Cartwright's owns Taprock restaurant so I figured that's the steak they'd serve but no it was thin and tough like a top round steak, it was cooked med rare that I ordered. The mahi mahi tacos were juicy and well-cooked, though warm or toasted tortillas would make them even better. It would be great to see more detail on the menu about local sourcing. As a visitor, that makes the experience feel even more special. Looking forward to stopping in again someday!
