I just got done with an interview there. I have been working in the food industry for a little but not a server, the position I applied before but I'll come back to that. They texted me repeatedly to be on time, got there 10 minutes early but my interview started 5 minutes late while I sat as one of the only 2 people in the restaurant. The lady taking my interview comes out not greeting herself or anything just starting with the opening question. I try my best to give good answers in a field i am not experienced in, she scoffed and made remarks under her breath for just about everyone. Mocking me when I got an answer right for she pretended to be surprised. I broke eye contact with her maybe 2-3 times momentarily, every time I did she made a face and tried to put her head in the area of where I was looking, it was such a little kid and unprofessional thing to do. Also when I gave my answers she would just stare at me for a few seconds after. She had my resume out and told me she wanted someone with experience, which made me wonder why I even got the interview. They have positions always opening and I can see why-no one wants to work for that. read more

After arriving in town on a Monday night tonight, there did not seem to be too many places open later for dinner. Not being a big fan for chain restaurants, I decided to get something to eat after a very long day of traveling and try the local Applebee's and I am sure glad I did! They had a packed bar and when I arrived the blondie bar keeper made eyes at me and came right over to seat me at a cozy booth. It was a slow night and as I stated it was getting pretty late so I knew I had to hurry up and order. My server was great and got me a cold beer on tap that was on sale to nurse through my dinner. I ordered the fajitas and when they arrived even the server was surprised by how fast the kitchen turned the order around! The fajitas were better than Chili's signature fajitas. I had fun assembling them to my custom order and played this fun game to get all the ingredients and tortillas to come out even with the last one! They were really good with my cold beer! Only thing better is my rendition at home, but that takes two days to do, but since it was late, and I was very hungry these filled the bill. The server talked me into an hot apple pie for dessert. So I just walked out of here. 9pm on a Thursday night, not busy at all. Where is the customer service? Because I can't seem to find it. Not only was I seated at a dirty table (carrots and other food parts on the floor ice cubes on the bench), I waited a good 5 minutes to be at least greeted so we could voice our concern and the desire to wanting a clean table, but was never greeted. We ended up walking out. Seeing the place fairly dead and many servers just hanging out chillin and none of them having a desire to serve or do their job was just disgusting. Overall pretty bad. Our waitress interrupted me rather non-politely while I was trying to order an appetizer. Then she continued pronouncing mozzerella as if she were italian, and then said hi y'all to the table next to us. The appetizers were the highlight of the food. The steaks me and my friend ordered, medium, and medium rare, came out the same. Even the server couldn't tell which was which. The whole plate was hot to the touch and the potatoes with cheese on top had microwave burn. The sauteed veggies were well undercooked, but hot thanks to the aforementioned microwave. The only good thing about the service was a nice guy, mike I think, who dealt swiftly with any extra sauces and sodas we needed. We saw our server three breif times, once for drinks and appetizers, once for entrees, and once for our checks. I won't count the time she breifly walked by and said "how is everything?" And then took two empty cups before we answered. It wasn't busy, and its only Monday, but we waited way too long for our check. I'm completely against it, but dining and dashing came to our mouths, although only joking. Its an applebees. Plain and simple. Nothing special but its fine. I had Nicole as a server. She was always ready to help, responsive, and chatty. My steak was overcooked and I asked for it to be redone and they did no problem. So if you really disliked your food here and posted a nasty review then try just sending it back. I then called the place and spoke with someone that identified herself as the "General Manager". She was indifferent, rude, and reminiscent of a female dog. Been here many times! Service good, food good, time and accuracy are on-point, drinks are OK (your standard drinks), but during the week between 4-6:30pm maybe, I've noticed some of the locals do NOT create an environment that's conducive to family restaurant! Never had a bad meal or horrible service, just other patrons. Maybe some of these "men" need to learn how to talk around and/or to a lady! Want a family restaurant here that's more family friendly, go to 99 or Ruby Tuesday! Seriously tho, if what appeared to be the MANAGER didn't aggravate the "adult" environment, then I would give the manager a pass. Sadly, she just added to it. Quick and Easy Take Away It was a bit later than I had expected and I didn't really feel like waiting for a table so I called in a take away order. I ordered from the winter specials menu and got the Sirloin and Baked Scallops with an order of steamed broccoli as my vegetable choice. The order was ready for me when I arrived, I paid and headed back to my hotel room. The order came in a large take out order box, this made the order seem a little smaller than it really was. I also got a knife and fork pack with a salt and a pepper packet and a napkin. The knife impressed me as it did a great job of cutting the steak. The steak was cooked just the way I like it, medium rare, and was nice and tender and very flavorful. There were not as many scallops as I had expected, but for the price it was fair enough. The scallops were baked to perfection, the cracker topping had a nice garlicy flavor to it, but I would have liked a little more of the topping. The broccoli was a bit crunchier than I prefer but was flavorful and had a bit of butter on it. I was glad I ordered out and enjoyed the meal, even if I would have liked a few more scallops. read more

Myself & two friends went for lunch and I had finished eating and went out to have a cigarette as the other two in my party don't smoke. The door I used was right next to us was the door that they use to bring out orders to people in their cars. So as to not be standing in the traffic lane smoking I decided to walk to the end of the building away from the door. There was an ash tray, I thought; Great, a smoking area.. No sooner do I get there and a woman comes out from behind a fence that had dumpsters & trash cans behind it and says to me that I can't be there, I said excuse me and she went into this rant about how she was the general manager and I was in a restricted area and needed to leave, I questioned the ash tray and she said it was for employees only. I asked again why I had to leave and she said for safety reasons that trucks come & go in that area a lot, there was no trucks. I was on the sidewalk and again she said it was a restricted area. I asked where it was posted and she said it didn't need to be posted and again with, I'm the general manager.. She kept pointing to a line on the sidewalk that wasn't there and said I needed to remain behind the line and not near where I was. So I moved back a foot where I couldn't reach the ash tray anymore and asked if that was ok and she said yes... If she didn't tell me she was general manager fifty times, she didn't tell me once. A cook came out and kept telling her to drop it and she wouldn't. She "threatened" to call the owner on me, I told her to go ahead I would gladly wait, her reply, I don't need to call the owner, I'm general manager.. I asked a waitress before we left for her name, her name was Ashley and I don't know if she was just made general manager or what but she was on a power trip. We went back & forth a little and I mentioned we had just spent about $75 for lunch. I ordered a cheeseburger that came without cheese and I wanted the frys substituted for onion rings that was approved by the waitress for $1 more when I ordered. Didn't get the onion rings and was told they would be right out, all three of us were almost done eating by the time they finally arrived. I was charged for the cheeseburger without cheese, about $1.50 more and I was charged the $1 for the substitute AND for a full order of onion rings... My Recommendation.... *This rating is for Carside To Go Normally I like Applebee's for a quick, casual bite to eat. This one has been nice the few times I've been in. Wait staff was courteous and friendly. However I'm only giving 2 stars because the Carside To Go service I received recently was not good. We placed our order through the Applebee's app and I went to pick it up. Someone is supposed to come out to your car, no one did, and they were not particularly busy on this Monday night. So I went inside to ask someone about our order. I walked in the door, stood in plain view, and was past by several waitresses and a manager. All of them ignored me. They looked right at me and before I could even ask them a question, turned and walked away. Finally one lady asked me if I was ready (?) and I told her about our order. She had no idea there were Carside To Go orders ready. She asked someone behind the bar where the orders were, this person gave her attitude, and she came back with 2 orders. No receipts on the bags, and had no idea which one to give me. Normally I leave a generous tip, not today. The service was crappy. read more

Today I went to eat there and I ordered my steak medium as I did in the past and every time it comes to me it is well done so today was the last straw I told the waitress it was well done so she brought it back and the new one also came out well done now I normally wouldn't complain but since it happened three times in a row that was it for me. And when I got my bill they charged me for two steaks the first one they messed up and the second one they messed up. But I did talk to the manager and she agreed to remove them both. Pretty sad experience here today. Nothing wrong with the food, but the restaurant cleanliness and the service is in need of improvement. The table was dirty with "encrusted" ketchup on it, the bathroom floors were so sticky I actually wondered what kind of neglect it took for them to get that gross. Our waitress was just not paying attention. Half of our table sat with empty glasses as she walked by several times, and when she finally did stop by, it took forever to get our drinks back. I would say we were halfway done eating by the time she came back with them. She also forgot to bring salad dressing and appetizer dipping sauce, and didn't seem bothered that we had to ask several times. It's an Applebee's, so I'm not expecting much, but this is bad in comparison to even other Applebee's. Most things on the menu are barely edible, so I stick with pasta when I'm forced to go, because so far, that hasn't been screwed up. Steak was disgusting, ribs were basically just bones with sauce on them, little to no meat... Service is nearly non-existent. I was told they fired the one good server we had there. Maybe bad service is a requirement for working there? It's my usual experience that we are ignored and the food takes way too long. On multiple occasions they've given us the wrong order, or the order minus a few meals. They get it wrong more often than right. We stopped here once before an event, only to have them keep forgetting our meal. Waitress kept apologizing and had manager apologizing and offering free desserts, but took long even after the manager came over. We ended up having to take it to go and drive through a fast food joint for burgers, just so we could have something fast before our concert. This took well over an hour. The only time we come here is when I get roped into meeting friends or family, but I'll recommend almost any other restaurant above this one. I'd rather meet at the Wendy's down the road- at least I know what I'm getting there! read more
