I'm trying out the Watermelon Shrimp salad tonight. The service was good. Kitchen timely but not fast tonight. It is Sunday evening after all. The salad itself was delicious. I would never have thought of putting Watermelon in a salad with shrimp. For a few dollars less, you can get chicken, if shrimp is not you thing. The shrimp was marinated and grilled. It was overcooked, but still tasty. The salad had feta cheese, almonds and cubed cucumbers. The dressing with it was a semi sweet yogurt dressing. Really delicious. The Watermelon of course melts on your mouth. Overall a great cool meal for summer without extra calories. I'll be back for another one this summer!! read more

I'm usually a sucker for Applebee's three cheese chicken penne. Being 7 months pregnant I was absolutely craving this! Well our order said it would be ready at 4:04pm. We went in at 4:05pm and my fiancé ended up standing around for 20 minutes before the food was even brought out. When the drink was first brought out it was filled with ice well in the picture it clearly states "no ice". This place was not very busy at the time but Okay whatever it was just a couple small hiccups. I still want this food lol. Got out to the car, got home and the chicken on my three cheese chicken penne was burnt on the edges. Now I don't know about you but I can't stand the taste of burnt bird. With a very not so picky fiancé I gave him my chicken and ate the pasta because we are not driving 30 minutes back up there just to complain. Ordered the chicken tenders platter (comes with fries and coleslaw) and the BBQ brisket tacos ( with onion rings for an extra charge). Everything was just SO BAD! Couldn't finish my meal and afterwards my stomach was churning and had an oil after taste in my mouth. I am really surprised at the high reviews and at the fact that when I went in to pick up my food the place was packed. Just went to the Howell, MI location and ordered two burgers Togo. When I pulled up to curbside I was greeted right away. Everything went perfectly. Then i got home to eat my burger and I must say it's one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Well done Applebee's. read more

This review is kind of different. We like their carside to go but we do not like eating in. Carside to go the food is great and we get it at least once a month. Nice portions and fresh. Always good. Eating in, however, the service is ALWAYS bad and we have kids. You would think they would know what beverages they would have for kids, besides sode, and they never do. Never know what juices or milk. So we just have gotten water, but overall the service is bad if you dine in. So, we just don't! read more

Atmosphere isn't good- one awkward giant room. The waitresses I've had were less than cheerful and actually seemed downright bitter to be there. Not that they were mean in any way to us as patrons, you just really got the idea they wanted to be ANYWHERE but there. The table, the seats, the salt / pepper shakers, etc... NOT giving you a lot of confidence in their cleanliness. Food is sub-par. Not the fault of the cooks there, but just the quality and taste of Applebee's food in general. Our family has ordered every week for years on curbside pickup. The last 2 times we have not received everything ordered. The last time order a side of coleslaw and i literally measured how much I received and it was less than a 1/4 cup, maybe three normal bites. I called to inquire and am told I would receive a gift card in a couple of days. Guess what, no gift card. I am done. Our orders everyweek were always over $50.00. They have now lost all busine and I will save at least $200 a month read more

I am so glad that my husband and I decided to pick up food for ourselves from here tonight as well as for my dad. I had put in an order over the phone which included grilled chicken sandwich with fries for my husband a burger and fries for my dad and a medium rare steak for myself along with garlic mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. Upon picking up the order there were a number of other cars parked and waiting to receive their food. We were greeted right away and not too long after our food arrived. The entire order was correct . Once we got home and opened everything up and ate , everything was absolutely perfect except one minor detail the fries were a little salty but that's really nothing major. This Applebees is Great ! Once again disappointed. They don't have cavatappi noodles anymore and they can't substitute anything in the pasta. Stayed away for over 2.5 years but went back because of a TV add. They must have a better training program as the service for 3 visits(different waitperson each time)in one month was excellent. I was impressed to say the least. Bourbon street chicken is the best thing on the menu(in my opinion) but my wife's steak was also good. Good food at a good value with a wide variety of dishes that are updated regularly. The ribs I had were done perfectly just crispy enough while still falling off the bone. Although they were a little thin on the meat but we're on a delicate bone. They had a delicious flavor and had just the right amount of smothering of bbq sauce. The sides I chose were mac n cheese and green beans both were delicious. The food came at a good level of warmth and paired with wine overall made for a good meal value for the money. My partner and I came here after a long day at BLED FEST in Hartland and he wanted somewhere to actually sit down and eat. I spotted the Grand River location of Applebee's, then off we went (because we both love the service we always get and know that there's always going to be something we like)! I'm so glad we went relatively out of the way to eat this time because our bartender for the evening, Chelsea B, was AWESOME!!! So personable, so nice, so funny! She also honored my Yelp coupon for 1 Free Appetizer and ended up taking the most expensive one off for us. Nice! My partner got the Beer Pretzels, which, holy cow, the new recipe has made them GIANT (and way more delicious) and I got the Mozzarella Sticks. Our dinners were fantastic, too! Mine was the 3 Cheese Chicken Penne, sub grilled chicken for crispy, with garlic mash and his was the Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp with loaded garlic mash. I don't know why I keep going back here. I've had the worst food & service than any other restaurant. Just when we think they are turning things around, we go and have terrible service & our waiter lied straight to my face. I ordered wings from the bar snacks menu and a side of cole slaw, at first my wings weren't what I ordered so they fixed them, but I never got the cole slaw. Then the price listed was $5 on the menu...but when our bill came I was charged $9.99... When I asked why there was a price difference, our waiter told me that you only get them for $5 when you order two or more items from that section. Today I went online and did a carside to go order and sure enough my total was $5 plus tax. Don't waste your time on their over priced, mediocre food and lying waitstaff. read more

Whenever I go to this Applebee's, the wait is at least 20 minutes. The food is always disappointing - the waitstaff never knows the drinks you've ordered, or they bring you the wrong thing, insisting that it is what you've ordered. And yes, this sounds like I'm talking about one trip here. No, I've come to this Applebee's at least a dozen times over the past ten years, and I'm consistently disappointed in the waitstaff, and the food. While you're in the lobby, even if you don't feel like sitting in the smoking section, you'll get to experience it because the smoking section is right next to it, filling the lobby with wonderful amounts of second-hand smoke. It makes for an unpleasant dining experience. If you want a dive-bar, go to one - don't go to this Applebee's expecting a better meal than that though. read more

My family, husband and two kids eat here approx. once per month. We ate here last night, our bill was $40.00. I usually like my steak here, however this sirloin tasted a little like bologna or something. It had a weird consistency. The waitress was very pleasant. Baked potato was good.
