It was really a pleasure to dine here Friday night. I was sure it was going to be packed to the hilt and there would be a wait, but fortunately our timing was good and we didn't have to wait at all. It was a beautiful evening and we chose to dine on the patio. We didn't realize it, but there was a perked dining on the patio- all the adult beverages were five dollars-along with the appetizers. We definitely indulged. I had a margarita and we ordered a onion blossom and some fried mozzarella as starters they were huge, and we barely made a dent in them my dining companion, and myself both chose New York strips. He asked for his to be medium well and I ask for mine to be medium rare. There were numerous sides to choose from also. When our steaks arrived, they were done to perfection and proved to be delicious. The desserts looked tempting, but we were so full there was no way to indulge! We both were taking home half our meals. I must mention that my nephew absolutely loved their rolls and honey butter and ate pretty much all of them. The service was very good and as we were chilling after our meal, the manager came by to make sure the food was good as well as the service. This is a relatively new location of Texas Roadhouse and it felt funny to be eating here in Fenton, Michigan-when I have a brand new location within a mile from my home in Texas!!! Ordered BBQ dinner with seasoned corn and mashed potatoes. The BBQ pork was flavorless and Luke warm. The seasoned corn was nothing more than corn in a bowl of butter and tons of pepper. The mash potatoes tasted like paste and no amount of seasoning would help them. The ambiance reminds me of a western themed Applebees , and at least Applebees does change the decorations every so often. I used the kiosk in the table to pay and was charged $2.00 just use the kiosk, I had the receipt emails to my account and when I seen that I made up my mind, NO MORE ROADHOUSE FOR MEALS!!!! The only saving thing was the waitress was attentive and on the spot when a need arose. I would recommend avoiding any place that charges money to use a table top kiosk to self check out. We had a group of six. We arrived early evening. There were plenty of patrons, but it was not overcrowded. There wasn't a waitlist and we were seated immediately. Our server, Kristin, was very helpful to our table. We had one person with us who had specific dietary needs. All her questions were answered and she was able to order accordingly. I appreciated the time and attention Kristin took, even taking some of the questions to the kitchen to verify before I ordered the 6oz sirloin, medium. It came with two sides and I chose to get the baked potato with butter and sour cream as well as the house salad with ranch, of course. My salad was crisp and fresh and included grape tomatoes, shredded cheese, croutons and hard boiled egg. Note on the croutons, so many times I've had croutons that could break a tooth, these were crunchy yet they could be chewed without risking dental work. The ranch was flavorful and thick. I also enjoyed one of their signature rolls with the whipped cinnamon butter. What a treat! The sirloin was done to my request. It was tender and tasty. Kristin offered to bring us A1, but it did not need it. My baked potato was tender and fluffy inside. The whipped butter and sour cream were the perfect complement to the steaming spud. Overall good experience. My only deduction is that the music was quite loud. It made it hard to have a conversation across the table without raising your voice. read more

Steaks were overwelmed with a super salty spice mix. Mama's steak ordered well done came out well done. My steak ordered Blue came out well done. My 2nd steak was cooked to proper cooking perfection, however, it was coated with some god-awful, super-salty spice mix which made it almost inedible. And I eat a Lot of salty food. I am not anti salt. I am pro salt. But, this steak was so salty it was painful to eat. I had already gotten them to cook one correctly, so I chokedit down. Service was great. We were meeting our parents who were already seated, we walked in and one of the hostesses told us to stand at the counter where all of the hostesses waitresses were (10+ people). We took two steps forward to the counter, with absolutely no one in front of us. They all turned to look at us, and continued talking. We spoke up and said we were meeting people. They said how many people, we told them there were two of us and two already sat so a total of four. They all looked at each other and said they didn't have anyone seated waiting for someone else. We used the name we made reservations under and they said "there was no one with that name" "no one with that name was seated" "wait maybe we sat a Michelle earlier". They then decided not to seat us and that if we really thought someone was here from our party then we should just go look around and find them. We find our party and the waitress immediately greets us with our drinks, wonderful! She then disappears for over 10 minutes, we are looking around, menus put away, flagging other waitresses and no one helps us. Finally we yelled to get some service. Our waitress was so kind, over sat, but very kind probably the only one there with a smile on their face (I am not exaggerating they all looked like they hated working there). She then had a food runner deliver our meal, he was kind too. Then we couldn't find our waitress when we needed something and I had to flag someone down, waving my arms in the air and looking the waitresses dead in the eyes at their waitress stand that was directly behind us. She tried to say she wasn't our waitress, which we knew but still needed someone to get her for help. Then the kiosk wasn't taking tap pay and we already hate kiosks, it takes away service. I love this Texas Roadhouse! Whenever the topic of customer service comes up, this is my go-to example of the best of the best. We have been here probably ten times (plus a few takeout orders as well) since it opened less than a year ago, and it's not just due to the fantastic food (everything I've gotten here has been delicious, hot, and flavorful). The service is truly incredible every time, whether you're sitting down or just doing a pickup. The wait is always around 5 minutes, even on a Friday or Saturday evening. Their ordering and waitlist systems are robust and efficient. The servers obviously enjoy coming to work, and as we walk to/from our table every employee greets us. A manager (or owner) has always checked in on us at some point. We've had servers help us with toys dropped under the table, elderly grandparents, etc. It's a great atmosphere for anyone; we have brought our toddler, friends, grandparents, large groups, small groups, etc. and there is always something for everyone on the menu. My one year-old loves to look around at all the signs, lights, and even, occasionally, dancing employees. Overall, if I could give this place a 10/5 I would. Keep up the amazing work! read more

Surprised to read the poor reviews. We've visited a few times since they opened, and each time service was fast, friendly and the food was delicious and hot. The manager has checked in on our table each time we've eaten here and more than once we've had a server named Rachel who was very friendly, attentive and quick. True customer service is pretty rare these days, so it's refreshing to have a restaurant that consistently delivers on the experience. Date January 24, 2024. Watched the location Manager toss out a couple because they complained about a tiny piece of chicken, and it was very very tiny chicken breast. The couple where celebrating their mother who passed away, and the wife's birthday. Texas Roadhouse LLC needs to fire the manager name JD for even yelling at the customer who never raised his voice. My own service, by the same waitress as the couple that was tossed, was also a nightmare. Served barely warm food, had to beg for drinks and refills. I would have complained but figured crybaby JD would toss us out as well. I did run into the couple about 2 hours ago and gave them a $200.00 Lucky's Steakhouse gift card. Normally we love this place. Tonight was the worst experience!!! Our drinks took 20 mins to come out. The bread was stale. There was hardly any butter in the cup. It took 40 minutes for our steak to come out and it was RAW!! We sent it back and waited another 15 mins. By that time we were done with that place. We asked for a manager and Kelsea the manager was snotty and nasty and rude. She did take the steak off our bill (she didn't want to) but she was way too snarky for a manager!! Food was way too salty, almost too salty to eat, both the portobello chicken and the burger and fries. The portobello mushrooms were mushy, like they were from a can. Husband's baked potato was cold my fries were cold. I ordered a medium well burger , it was closer to medium rare but I ate most of it anyway. We came day 2 of Texas Roadhouse opening. The place was packed, but we were able to get seated within 10 minutes or less. The seating is plentiful, and the atmosphere is full of joy. You feel like you walked into a fun & warm environment. The appetizers are diverse, the food is excellent, although you probably know that with this being a franchise. The horrible front of house staff is not worth the food. Last weekend they couldn't even get that right. The waitress, (Shelly? Shelby?) was surly at best. Two of our dishes were wrong, she noted it to us and left. No offer of remaking it or apology that it was wrong. After waiting so long I did not check the bag and drove 25 minutes home just to find out they forgot the bread. Along with that the food was very cold and you could tell it has sat for who knows how long. Called to see what we could to do accommodate, and was immediately placed on hold for over 15 minutes and still no one answered.
