I'm not even going to finish eating before I leave my review. My son (11) Ordered a side salad with a piece of grilled chicken. Salad came out, no chicken. He waited a few minutes and started with his salad. Finished the salad and sat for another 5, before the chicken arrived. I ordered a bowl of soup and app. Soup came out straight away. Unfortunately the baked potato soup had separated. No bacon on top and I was surprised there was no potato in the soup. Straight cream soup. Still waiting on my app. Need to train the hostess. She sat my server 4 tables in less than 5 minutes. Dude is swamped and hustling to the best of his ability. He's personable and is good at his job. But super overwhelmed. I was a little hesitant to come here since Applebee's hasn't traditionally been a good eatery for me...however, the past few times I've eaten here have been good experiences. This restaurant is set behind the freight train lines and I've brought my sons here to eat so that they can watch the trains go by (the noise is at a minimum since there is no close crossing). As such, the staff has always been accommodating when I request a seat by the window facing the tracks. The food is good, if a little greasy at times. I probably wouldn't recommend going for a steak meal if you're expecting a perfect cut, but the meat is tender and well-seasoned. Their chicken alfredo is creamy and filling, but the chicken was a little tough the last time I had it. The broccoli that came with the meal was well-cooked and slightly crunchy, not soggy. My dad comes here on Monday for the military discount. I come because he's paying, but it's not my favorite. He got the steak tacos, and I thought they tasted weird. Plus the deep fried onions on top were weird. I got the half rack of ribs with the spicy texas bbq. They were good as were the mashed potatoes. Certainly not the best Applebee's I've taken the grandsons to. My wife and my fajitas were tough and dry...the undercooked bed of rice didn't help either. But the boys ate their chicken strips and Mac and cheese so they were happy. read more

We had a party of 5 cramped (3 on one side) into a booth at the Mae street Hummelstown, Pa location which was uncomfortable. The restaurant wasn't that crowded yet it took literally 50 minutes after ordering our dinners that the food arrived. We ordered at 6:05 pm and we received our orders at 6:55 which was unacceptable. We normally enjoy Applebee's everywhere we go. This Applebee's was lacking in so many areas. We sat at the bar. The bartender was not organized. No clean glasses of mugs. We ordered chips and salsa for an appetizer. The chips were just very small pieces and could hardly be picked up. We asked for "Chips" that weren't just crumbs. Some girl brought a small bowl out with more chips and poured it over the crumbs we had. What she brought out was just more crumbs. Then we ordered burgers and asked for them to be cooked Medium. The bartender told us they cook them only one way. And that's with a small amount of pink. Needless to say the burgers were well done. WOW. Never ever never ever would I eat here again. Seriously, it is a chain restaurant. How can they screw everything we order up?? Is it really rocket science to cook food? Let's start with the service: Sat down and waiting 15 minutes for our drinks and our waitress had the attitude that when she brought things for us it was a favor. Horrible service. Appetizer. This was about the only thing edible however after sitting there for 40 minutes we were so hungry it could have really been bad and we still would have eaten it. Main course: Me - Santa Fe Chicken Salad: I asked for my chicken to be blackened and dressing on the side. I received a white piece of chicken with light grill marks w/ some pepper sprinkled on top and about 1/3 of it was fat. Ew. The salad was so drenched in dressing the lettuce was stuck together. Yuk. Needless to say I sent it back and waited until I got home to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Him - Steak - medium well with garlic mash and steamed veggies. The steak was more like rare, was almost entirely fat, and was not the steak he ordered. He ate the sides but the steak was a total flop. My kids had the hotdogs and chicken fingers.. fortunately they didn't screw those up. I am moving in 5 days and with any luck i will never be returning to PA however I do have some great friends here and have met some great people so I wanted to put the word out so they would not have to go to this sorry excuse for a restaurant and waste their time. I asked for a manager and she took my meal and his meal off of the total.. gee thanx. I'd rather go to Benihana and spend $200 (or more if I have a couple of mudslides haha) and have a delicious meal than to spend $40 and have crappy service paired with even crappier food. read more

I have been here twice this week the first visit on, Monday was fantastic the server was very polite, and attentive not letting anything slip by that he wasn't right there to fix. I decided to go back dueto the previous visit being super, but to my dismay tonight (7-6-22), I had the worst service that I had ever receive. got seated right away, thought it was a good sign to start with, but that's were the good part was . My wife and I waited almost 15 minutes before the waitress showed up to get the drink order, she left and was back fairly quickly then took our food order, we ordered two apps, and our meal. when the apps finally showed up 30 minutes later the meal was served at the same time. At first I was afraid to go to this restaurant because of all the past bad reviews, however, my friends and I were very hungry after an entire day of our adventure at Hershey's park so we decided to go there otherwise. It was 10:30 pm when we arrived at Applebee's, the place didn't look too crowded and we had a pretty good waitress to serve us. She was really kind and gave us tips on what to order and asked us if we needed anything every 5 minutes here and then. Service was pretty good. I myself don't really have any bad complaints with the service. The food, however, wasn't too bad. I ordered the steak quesadilla and a side of fries. I was given a birthday gift certificate for Applebee's and went to the Hershey location expecting average food and service realizing this was a chain. My sister and I were completely surprised and in a good way. The server, Tracy, gave us excellent service! She was very attentive, knew the menu quite well and recommended some options. An an appetizer, we got the grilled chicken won-ton tacos--they were spicy and great! I got the quesadilla burger which was delicious and cooked perfectly. My sister got the penne pasta which was also very good. I am a lover of French onion soup but it's a rarity I will find a really good one. The server recommended theirs as very good and she wasn't pulling our legs. It was fantastic! Not too salty, the perfect temperature and the onions were perfectly cooked. I will return here just for the damned soup! In a very nice touch, we casually mentioned to our server that it was my sister's birthday and she brought out a slice of cheesecake to go. Nice! All in all, we were very pleased and will return to this location. In fact, we were so pleased with our meal and service, we called the manager over and gave him kudos for the food and Tracy's service! So, comparing this to other similar chain restaurants, this place gets five stars. read more

After a long day of working off site, I was craving chicken, So I drove through main street and right in-front of me was Applebee's. I went inside and ordered the Fiesta Lime Chicken to go and waited at the bar for the food. Once it arrived, i grabbed the bag and drove away, to my surprise I got to my room and found only chicken and no rice! I had to google to make sure that I wasn't imagining that the meal came with rice. This is the final straw, and I will never walk into another Applebee's again. Really great place. Went with my family. Appetizers: mozzarella sticks were average, and chicken wonton tacos were excellent. Meal: I ordered the whiskey BBQ burger, disappointed that they only cook them medium well or well. Burger was okay. Shrimp stir fry was great, well seasoned. The service was very friendly and accommodating. That was probably the best thing about it all. My sister has a nut allergy and they were very good about checking with the chefs and the ingredients on the desserts. Great place to go with family, some of the food is pretty good. Kind of conflicted with this review, it was 3 star food with 5 star service. That is why 4 stars. A server named Megan was the most rude person probably we've ever met. She was making racist comments and was making different attitude at us. At some point we asked to bring us some spoon and water she literally said are you done with your drama. I still don't believe a chain like Applebee's can have a server like with this inappropriate behavior. She also said to speak English while we were talking among ourselves. Very poor service from Applebee's. We just went to eat there, that wasn't a expected behavior. We always try to be the nicest person ever, but this disappoints us. I haven't eaten at Applebees in over a year. I used to go all the time when I was in high school and college, but the food and service itself just got worse and worse to the point where I just stayed clear over the past years. However, it was 11PM on a Saturday, and Hershey PA appears to have very little food options open past 9 or 10PM, which I find hard to believe as it's a tourist spot. So anyways, it was either Applebees or some other place that had bad yelp reviews. We choose Applebees. The place was not packed at all, with a few groups scattered about. Everyone was very friendly and happy to help. We had a few questions about the menu, and the waitress was honest with each one. We ended up getting chicken wings with no sauce, fish and chips, and some type of Chicken Penne Alfredo. The chicken wings were a bit tough, but everything else was really good, surprising all of us. I gave it 4 stars because of the chicken wings being quite tough, and the penne was a bit spicy when there was no spicy mark next to it on the menu. Outside of that, it was probably one of the better Applebees I've been to, which surprised me reading past reviews, all of which were almost over a year old. read more

Recently went here for the all you can eat ( chicken tenders , riblets ) me and my wife both got it . it was nice you could change up to try each and the waitress was super nice and kept up with us very well. The chicken tenders were ok they just tasted like your typical fast food tender to me but the riblets were not very good at all nothing but fatty gross tasting and didnt even look appealing nothing like commercials so in turn i wish i would of spent less for just chicken tenders at a fast food joint ..
