I was thoroughly surprised at the quality of food at Fenicci's! I was brought to town with a buddy in hopes of finding a nice pizza joint. Not only did Fenicci's supply was with two PHENOMENAL pies - we opened with their famous meatballs that were not only priced great, but tasted even better! The upside down pie is so unique and SO good. Very crispy crust and terrific cupped pepperoni - I left Hershey, PA missing this! Traditional pepperoni was nice, too, though I'd definitely recommend the upside down pie for someone feeling spontaneous. Nice, clean dining room with prompt service. The environment wasn't ideal for a family dinner, I'll say, but it ended up being okay. The food and service were okay, not great, but perfectly fine for our purposes. We started out with wings and mozzarella sticks as appetizers. The cheese sticks were really stretchy and melt. The wings were solid. The kiddos had baked penne, and I had an antipasti salad, which was packed with meat but a little too salty for my liking. The kids enjoyed their entrees, but we over ordered and had to take home boxes. Oops. Anyway, Fenicci's was just fine for a Sunday evening quick meal. Been married over 52 years and each year go to Fenicci's for our anniversary. Our server was fantastic; attentive and a great disposition for having to work on a Sunday. The food however was a different story. The chicken parm was smaller as well as the lasagna and just tasted "different".We elected to take home 2 upside down pizza's. After eating one we decided the cardboard box they came in probably tasted better. After a quick call to the restaurant I learned they have a new GM and head cook who changed some of the recipes. Was promised a call from the GM which never came. So sorry for the employees who have always been superb that we'll be looking elsewhere in the future. What a shame. When we arrived in Harrisburg/Hershey, I asked the lady at the hotel front desk about places to eat in the area. She said Fenicci's was the best. While taking the Hershey Trolley Tour, they spoke highly of Hershey's famous Fenicci's. That was enough for us to give it a try. We were able to make reservations very easily on Fenicci's website. We did a booth in the Lounge by the bar. Very comfortable booth. For starters, we had the Garlic Bread with melted provolone cheese & the Crispy Calamari. Both were outstanding! My daughters split a Pepperoni Pizza while my wife shared the Crab Tortellini with a Caesar salad. All 3 were amazing. Service was great. Food was amazing. Very cool spot that the locals rave about. Before Phil bought this restaurant it was named DiAngelos. We have been visiting this location for over 50 years. We like their food and usually took one of their "upside down" pizzas home with us. We are sorry to see that Phil has passed away way before his time. Since his passing their pizzas are no longer the same. So was the sauce recipe changed or are they now using different cheese?? We're sorry to say that we will not be taking any of their pizzas home with us. read more

This consisted of appetizers, all of the salads, everything on the back of the menu, which was like the Strombolis, pizzas. And a separate menu, which had a few pastas listed. We ate Fenicci's two years ago and it was wonderful, so it was an easy choice for us to dine here again. We dined at Fenicci's this evening, since we are back at Hershey. We were all looking forward to a nice dinner, however dinner was disappointing. The marinara for the chicken parm was not the best tasting sauce. I would have preferred the chicken to have been a little thinner than what was served. My children ordered the kids salmon and I will say the portion size they were given was huge. My children appreciated the large portion size, they devoured it. Our waitress was Ashely, she was a nice girl. You could tell she was busy, she was trying her best to be attentive to her tables. We are sadden that one of our go to places, isn't the same great tasting Italian that we had before. As far as service, waitress would approach the table and just boldly interrupt conversation every time to check if we needed anything. She seemed like a bull in a china shop. No care in how customers were engaged at the moment. Was just going through the motions. Ambiance was nothing special. Walking in the door, there was an odd smell filling the restaurant- which was not like food. The prices are reasonable and the menu is diverse. I started off with some garlic bread, which was a sub roll that was pressed down with some cheese in the middle. I enjoyed the Caesar salad. My pasta with the added steak ($12) was disappointing. The meat tasted as it was recently defrosted and very dry. I did not eat any of it. The pasta was ok, but again I was not able to complete the meal. Made a reservation for 5pm on March 31 for 4. When we arrived, we were told they had no reservation for us. We were seated. Drinks ordered and were delivered with no ice. We were told they were out of ice. This only 1 hour past opening. Ordered 2 pizzas, a sausage sandwich and a salad. The pizza tasted like cardboard. The sandwich was cold. Ordered 2 pieces of peanut butter pie. The waitress brought them out and announced that the pie was frozen. It was hard as a brick. Besides the waitress being very pleasant, this was a total trainwreck of a dining experience. This is a highly rated restaurant supposedly. Not by any stretch of the imagination. My wife and I visited Fenicci's in Hershey, PA, and had a generally pleasant experience. We were greeted and seated quickly, and our waitress was fantastic--attentive, friendly, and honest in her menu recommendations, which I really appreciated. We started with the calamari, which was disappointing. It was rubbery, lukewarm, and didn't seem freshly fried. While the flavor was decent, the marinara sauce tasted burnt, which didn't help. Next, we tried the 5 Star Pizza. It was a good pizza overall, though a bit on the salty side--possibly due to the prosciutto or cheese. Still, it was enjoyable. Lastly, we had the hot garlic wings. Unfortunately, like the calamari, the wings weren't crispy and seemed to have been cooked earlier and then tossed in sauce. However, the sauce itself was solid--classic buffalo with fresh garlic. Overall, Fenicci's had some hits and misses. The service was great, but the food could have been better, especially with freshness and texture. I'd rate it 3.5 out of 5. I gave it 4 stars since 3.5 wasn't an option, and I'd rather round up than round down. read more

We made a mistake on which entrance we were supposed to enter. Buuuut the staff helped us out and seated us quickly. The service wasn't the greatest. The server brought a pitcher of ice water then was absent for a bit then came and took our drink order. Our bread and salad came out but our beverages were still not there. We got our drinks the blackberry old fashioned was so so. It had only a muddled black berry in the bottom of the glass nothing special. The bread brought to the table was warm but was hard as a rock almost like croutons. The salad was good but could've used something better than shredded no flavor mozzarella. The entrées were good. I came here with five friends, and from the very beginning, the bartender was shockingly rude, unprofessional, and downright disrespectful. She acted like she didn't want to serve us at all, and her attitude set the worst tone for the entire night. At one point, she called me and my friend over, and when my friend didn't come immediately, she actually said, word for word, "Is your friend slow or something?" That is one of the most offensive, inappropriate, and unprofessional things I've ever heard someone in customer service say. It completely crossed the line and put a bad taste in my mouth for the entire business. She wasn't just rude to me and my friend--she had an attitude with our entire group the whole time. It was so bad that we decided to leave without buying anything. Why would we spend money somewhere that allows a bartender to talk to customers like that? I was actually in shock when those words came out of her mouth. I hope the owners see this review and understands that this is how their bartender treats people. This kind of behavior is unacceptable. I will not be coming back here, and if I ever do, I will make sure I never deal with her again. read more
