As good an Applebee's as I've been to. Outstanding consistent food, with wonderful service and a manager who roams the dining room making sure everything is acceptable. A shout out to 'Kalyee' who served me dinner at the bar and did an absolutely outstanding job. Thank you! I ordered the Bourbon Street Steak, and as usual, it came out sizzling hot, smelling delicious, and looking fantastic. How they manage to cook these steaks to a perfect medium rare while it's obviously still cooking on the way out is quite the feat. Love the sauteed on onions and mushrooms with the baked 'New Potatoes'. Hard to believe this meal is only 750 calories! Outstanding! read more

Food was absolutely amazing and so was the service. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very competent. She had lots of drink orders coming in and was still keeping in good touch with all of her customers seated in her section. Rude, unhelpful staff. Blatant incompetence at every turn. Called in to place a to-go order and was left on hold for over half an hour. I've come to this location for dine-in service and have been ignored by waitstaff and management alike, drinks got empty and we only received one refill the entire time we were in the restaurant. We also have dietary restrictions, and every other Applebee's we've been to has been willing to accommodate by allowing substitutions to be made; not at this location. Great place. The burgers are great. The service is great. Most importantly, in this time of COVID recovery, Phase 3, all requirements were followed to the T. Separated seating, properly worn masks and gloves. At seating, the hostess pointed out that the booth had been completely disinfected. These folks are doing it right. Got the kids a meal and they got a free sticker! Yay... NOT. While mixing the mash potatoes revealed what looks like a meat packing sticker mixed in. We came here because it was next to the Hampton Inn. Had a Cesars salad and Burgers, both were ok. Waitress was a little bit too fast.

To say that it was a crappy experience is a complete understatement! If I could give zero stars I absolutely would! Our steaks for the worst I've ever eaten in my life. Mine was completely burnt on top I couldn't even cut it with a freaking steak knife. Presentation was even worse! The potatoes were cold, the mozzarella sticks weren't even cooked in the middle! My kids chicken Alfredo looks like it had been left out for a day and then thrown in there. I was even on the fence about letting him eat it to be honest. I ordered extra sauce for him and I didn't even fill up a quarter of the container!Big shame because we eat at Applebee's all the time in Boise and we've never had a bad experience! We visit our in-laws frequently down here and I will never come here again! And as a previous server it takes a lot for me to actually post a bad review. I'm really hoping we don't get food poisoning from eating here...yes it was THAT bad. A refund would be the least they could do. read more

I've never been more outraged. I've never been so offended. I ordered a nice steak but what I got was chicken. They came out and told me that I didn't look rich enough to afford their finest steak. They then proceeded to walk away and looked over their should and said enjoy your chicken chicken. Then they threw the the wash rag at me and said clean it up when your done. Star count, doesn't go low enough. In this, disgusting, restaurant...tonight. We ordered the appetizer sampler. This included...cheese sticks, chicken bites, quesadilla.....and spinach dip. Things seemed to be great....until we found a limp chip ALREADY floating in the dip. Had just gotten entrees. When chip was found, I contacted the Manager. She tried making excuses....chip was stuck in serving dish, dip put in on top of it..... The lame excuses, further angered me. I explained that the appetizer had been recycled....from a previous diner. I further explained, that it was illegal...to have dropped our food at another table...even untouched...and then drop it at our table. After a very trying day (my son was life flighted from Yellowstone to Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls), we weren't in a picky mood as to where to eat and Applebee's fit (it was late on a Sunday). It was good to sit, drink lemonade, have a good meal and to be waited on. The food actually was good and the waitress was very attentive. Why all the bad reviews?! This is seriously by far the best Applebee's we've been to. Sign up for their email list and you'll get a free appetizer on the next visit. We used the coupon for our visit yesterday and got the wonton tacos which are out of this world. The 2 for 24 deals are awesome and comes with an appetizer! We got the spinach artichoke dip with that and it's so addictive. I got the top sirloin and so did my husband. The steak was cooked to perfection, and so juicy and tender! I usually don't like steak but this one is definitely an exception. Our server was very friendly and accommodating! So was the manager! Took my wife here for our 5th anniversary. The problems began before we even arrived. I had arranged for my white tuxedo to be dry cleaned on Wednesday night, so I called in to make reservations on Thursday. That was when the rude employee on the phone let me know that they don't take reservations and that they likely wouldn't be busy. Excuse me? Applebee's? Of course it's going to be packed. Anyways we showed up Thursday night and turns out it was pretty empty. So I guess they were right about one thing. My wife and I were seated at a booth and as we were sitting my hand rubbed on the synthetic leather so it made it sound as if I had farted. The waiter looked at me and I explained that I did not fart. He didn't look like he believed me so that really pissed me off because I really didn't fart okay. I ordered the loaded nachos but not as an appetizer as a meal. The waiter had the audacity to ask if I wanted to order an entree as well. No way! The loaded nachos are way too much food. My wife ordered 2 Long Island iced teas and passed out drunk before the food even came. Which is a shame because the nachos were actually not bad. I'm giving this location one star because I think the waiter thinks I farted and I didn't. He probably did. I didn't fart. read more

The staff were scattered and unfriendly, our order was much smaller in portion than menu showed. When our food arrived the hamburger I ordered had a funny smell. When I tasted it the meat was ransed and the fries were hard and overcooked. Talk with Kelli the bartender! She knows the town, she knows the local feel, and she knows the fun people! I would say most Apple Bees are standard but this place is special bc of Kelli. Talk with her about your interest - she should be at the chamber! If you like to know whats the best get Kelli to tell u! The food is ok not bad but the bar is fun bc Kelli makes it a pleasure. My order was incorrect, the server Kathryn was rude and argued with me and was more intent on being right than fixing my order. Horrible service and I paid full price for a meal I didn't even eat. For transparency, I am not a fan of the Applebee's chain or of most of the other restaurant chains (e.g. Chilis, Outback Steakhouse, etcetera) that are homogenizing America and making it increasingly a rather boring place to live when compared to say Europe or Latin America, which have suffered much less from this phenomenon.. That said , the food at Applebees in general is palatable if not exciting, and this location seems to be clean and have courteous service. Was there on a Sunday for a business dinner (which is how I even ended up in an Applebee's at all) and noticed that the waitress asked if we would like "iced tea or soda" with our meal. I don't know if that is because in this conservative, heavily Mormon town alcohol is not served on Sundays or if that was just what the waitress chose to say.. I was staying in the hotel next door during my visit, so I returned late the next evening because in the course of my efforts to find out if Idaho Falls has any "nightlife" I was told Applebee's was "da place to be" on Mondays.. The place was indeed pretty full , of mostly 20-somethings , focused on karaoke going on next to the bar, and I was able to verify that they indeed serve cocktails on Mondays (although perhaps not on Sundays).. I think it is pretty sad that an Applebees is "THE nightlife spot" of a city, even if it just for Monday night.. But anyways, crowd was lively and people seemed to be having a good time, so that is OK.. So basically this Applebee's gets 2 stars because it is an Applebee's.. Within the limitations of the fact that this is a member of the Applebee's chain, this particular one seems fine.. read more

Wonderful place to lose your husband. We were tired that night, went in for dinner cuz we like Applebee's food. To my surprise the waitress paid special attention to my man, a lot more than was called for. She went to get a steak knife for him and called him her man, and then as she was getting something else she winked at him right in front of me, and then to add insult to injury upon showing the dessert menu on the tablet she was practically sitting on his lap and didn't even acknowledge me & didn't ask me about dessert, I had to ask . She refilled his drink multiple times and didn't ask to refill my tea, not once. Applebee's is a great place to eat, as long as it's not your husband on the menu. read more

My wife and i stopped in for dinner on 6/8/13 around 10 pm. We went inside and was required to wait for seating which would hve been fine but then they seated a group of 4 who came in after us and we continued to wait. We finally got seated at one of the high tables near the bar. At that point nothing happened. I love the fiesta lime chicken on their two for twenty menu, so we end up going here quite a bit. It's always been decently acceptable service; Apart from the last time we went. We were seated right away, but sat there for way longer than any guest should have to wait to even get a drink order. We ended up asking the hostess who our server was and if we could get some drinks going. She quickly mumbled his name and then turned away. At this point we're debating even staying. Well finally our server approached and got our drink order, but even getting our drinks after that was rough. They were brought to us by someone else. Then once again we were left waiting... and waiting.. finally our server comes back and takes our order. We already needed refills by the time he took our order. So he said he'd bring them by. Well next disappointment was we got our appetizer with our meal, the ranch and extra side of Alfredo for my dates pasta were forgotten, and the extra plate we asked for. Because it wasn't our server who brought us the food we didn't ask for all this at drop off. I tracked our server down and asked for some. Well not surprisingly a different person brings a side of ranch but forgets the plate and Alfredo. I flag down the closest person I can see and ask AGAIN for Alfredo and a plate. Finally we get them. Now that we're done eating our server comes back and asks if we need anything. I say a box and the check please. I check the time as he walks away. We waited 14 MINUTES for a damn box before we just decided to leave without. We tried to pay on their little tablet things but it said we didn't have a bill. We also couldn't see a single worker anywhere. So we just left without paying. Which I would never imagine doing but this service was beyond absurd, and I had a tired cranky five year old I needed to get home. read more

I have always had good service and food (remembering it is a chain restaurant) until going to the Idaho Falls location on 7 JUN 2014. My first date with my wife was at an Applebee's so we decided to go back down memory lane for a date night. The waitress that helped us was great. However, we were served our salads by someone else and my wife noticed rotten and wilted lettuce on her plate. While we were waiting for our waitress our daughter yells ladybug (what she currently calls any bug) and points to my wife's plate. We then noticed a bug crawling across my wife's plate. I grabbed the first employee I saw and asked to speak to a manager right away. The manager said that all their lettuce comes in pre-washed and sometimes things like this happen. My wife didn't want to make a scene so we accepted a new salad, that was much fresher, and finished our meal. We got the bill with a blurb on how we could take a survey about our visit. I decided to ask for the manager one more time so that he could resolve my concerns before I filled out the survey. He came over and said he had given us $5 off for the salads and when I showed him the receipt he blamed the waitress for printing it before he had adjusted the price (time stamp on the receipt seemed to indicate that the scenario he suggested was next to impossible) He asked if that was ok and I went over the food safety and my concern about the lack of concern for food safety in the restaurant. Eventually, he comped the whole meal and took the receipt (with the info about how to complete a survey) On the 9th I called guest relations to let them know about the concerns I had over food safety and on the 11th I got a call back from the company that owns this location saying that this was an important issue to them and they wanted to invite my family back to give them another chance. They asked about my email to send the information so I could have dinner again on them and told me I should see something by the end of the week. Instead all I have gotten from Applebee's recently is rotten food and lip service. They tell me food safety is important and that they are concerned about my satisfaction but, their actions convince me that the opposite is probably more accurate. I would recommend staying away from this location unless you want some kind of food born illness. read more

First off, I have never written a negative review about a restaurant but this was the very worst dining experience in my entire life. DONT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE HAVING YOUR DAY RUINED, food thrown in your face, a crayon added to your water when your checking on your 85 year old grandma in the bathroom, no silverware or water, and being treated overall horribly. My father has cancer and my grandma is old. We met as a family in Idaho, where she was visiting her daughter and my dad and I were bringing her back. My dad is very sick and my aunt uses a cane to walk. We were treated like non humans, not even worthy of silverware with our appetizers while an obsequious staff apologized profusely and meaninglessly. Does the management train this staff to say sorry over and over but not bring a napkins and put crayons in a drink! I can tell you that I have not spent much time in Idaho and now after eating here, hope to never go back. And it wasn't just us. The sweet family behind us (as I overheard) never even got the food they ordered their children. The staff was rude and just kept saying "sorry". Completely incompetent. There is a Chili's right across the street. I suggest you go there. read more
