This location is okay. It's usually semi clean with semi clean bathrooms. The bar area is a lot smaller than normal. You are seated and given drinks quickly which is a plus. Overall, it's your typical Applebee's, yes for drinks no for food. read more

I wish I could give them 0 stars. I attempted to place an order online and received an error message. I called to place an order and their phone ordering also did not work. I called 8 times to try to talk to someone, anyone who worked there. I finally drove to the restaurant to order in person. When I arrived, I waited 5 minutes for someone to come to the front. I explained what happened and was told that "as you can see, we are a little busy". He then told me I could walk to the back and order with the manager. The manager didn't even acknowledge my presence for several minutes. He finally asked why I was in the back. I explained what happened to him as well. He told me that I didn't call the restaurant. I showed him my phone where I had literally called 8 times! He said "well maybe you did but it didn't ring here". I asked if I could order with him. He sighed (yes, he actually audibly sighed!) and said yes. I was so out out with entire experience that I just said "never mind" and walked away. I heard him say "ok then" as I walked out the door. What in the world is happening there?? Are they making so much money that they don't need mine? Are they so busy that they really cannot handle orders coming in? Do not recommend, this would have to be a LAST resort. I've had bad experiences with Crapplebees in the past, such as FOOD POISONING, undercooked chicken, old brown lettuce, and less than desirable flavors. Decided to give it another but final chance, only to leave disappointment once again. Food was greasy, hurt my stomach, gave me explosive diarrhea, service was slow. Even when I opted for a classic cheeseburger since I was skeptical and it was the safest option. The ambiance was like everybody knew they were gonna shit themselves but still ate the food, some of the customers yet to know what they'd be dealing with. Overall, i give it a 2/5 since at least i didn't get food poisoning this time (though i did have to make multiple bathroom trips before even leaving the restaurant), and the waiter was nice and tried his best. Stopped in for a late bite after a long day of car shopping since they are open late. The grilled chicken house salad was very good, and the ingredients were all fresh. My husband had the maple glazed salmon that was fantastic! The service was very quick and friendly. read more

When to pick up an order and when I open it back home, there was not what I order. I've order chicken tender bundle and the bag didn't have the chicken tender, just the mozzarella cheese and two onion soup. I've came back and I complain they only said the guy forgot to give the other bag. By the time, I was back home the food was cold. Beside that the food was not that great. We are regulars at this location. But tonight, Valentines Day, was a little different. There was a wait which was different. But it was minimal. They said 15-20 minutes and I think we waiting 5. They are short staffed and obviously busy. But they are still happy and smiling and helpful. The manager is even up and helping seat people and clear tables. I've been in upper management for restaurants for some time now, and it's refreshing to see what I'm seeing tonight. I wish all of my stores worked as well as here! read more

I used to enjoy Applebee's. There was one dish that I like that is normally made with mushrooms and they would make it without. Tonight they told me they can't make it without mushrooms. My experience is they can, it's just the kitchen is too lazy to do it. Last time I will visit his restaurant. Applebees is your classic neighborhood bar. Sometimes you come in and the same folks are there for the nightly happy hour which is my fave by the way. It's not crowded and you walk right in an get serviced. Will always be my favorite nightly go to spot. read more

It's hit or miss at this location. Last time was horrible. It was obvious that the cook decided to call in sick because my medium rare steak was very well overdone. When I rejected it they told me that was the last one of the larger steaks so they gave me 2 of the smaller steaks. All of my friends were done eating by the time my meal arrived. One off my friends ordered a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich and it came with BBQ sauce on it, and the "beer cheese" fries had no cheese at all because they were out of it. We arrived at 7PM, too early to be out of anything. After speaking with management they did comp both mine and my friends meal. I have had other good experiences at this location, which is why I gave them 3 stars. I will probably return for another try because I do like Applebee's menu. I thought we'd give them another try. Never again. We were seated and waited 15 minutes while the waitstaff was conversing with each other in the kitchen area. No one came out to even ask if we wanted a drink. They were not busy, in fact there were only a few couples / small groups. We just up and left I love other Applebee's but this one in Little Elm will not see me again. read more

I'm a pretty laid back and easy to please kind of guy, but when an entire restaurant proves to be completely unable to perform the basic functions of a restaurant, I am obligated to leave a review. First, when we walk up to Applebee's we are discussing what a nice evening it is and how we should sit on the patio. Then we see two people outside smoking cigarettes and it smells awful. Next up, a dude sitting on the front bench next to the door smoking. Whatever, we'll just eat inside. Then, we order our food and drinks. It takes 15 minutes to get my margarita (the place is half empty, it's 7:45 pm) and 30 minutes to get our food. Again, a little long but whatever. When our food arrives the sides are completely incorrect. Not like they switched the sides between my wife and I, but completely random sides. We tell the waitress (not our waiter) who brought the food what our sides were supposed to be. She politely says she will get everything fixed. Our waiter then brings the "corrected" order which is still incorrect. At this point I'm just hungry so I'll take what I can get. Also, before our entrees get there I ordered another margarita. I reminded the waiter when he brought back the food. After receiving our food the waiter was nowhere to be found for the next 15-20 minutes. We've finished eating and I've still got no margarita. I ask the waiter to just make sure I don't get charged for marg #2 and to please bring the check. When I get the check, I see that I've been charged for a game that we didn't play at our table. At this point I'm done. I'd rather pay for the game than deal with another issue. I pay for the stupid game, tip the waiter well because I've been there, but holy shit, this was the absolute worst. All I wanted was the food I ordered and 2-3 margaritas. However in an hour and 15 minutes all I got was half of what I ordered and one margarita. We typically do take out/to go from this location. We go here since it is close to our house and the restaurant selection in the area is pretty limited. Over the years, we've ordered many steaks here and more than half were cooked wrong, generally much, much more rare than what we ordered. i.e. we order medium well but get medium rare or even rare. We've also had a variety of other minor issues that have persisted over the years. I recommend checking your order before you leave to make sure it is correct. read more

One star b/c there is not an option for negative stars. My 2 kids had just finished eating at a table. I came to join them w/3 more ppl. We moved to the bar. We brought the left over food to the bar w/us to take home. OMAR the bartender threw away one of our food items. Spinach dip w/salsa. Honest mistake, wasn't upset. Asked him to kindly replace it. He said with the sass of a thousand 3 yr olds at their first dance recital, NO! I refuse to wait on you goodbye! Then carried on berating me with the best one sided argument I have ever seen. The manager now came over and as I started to explain, OMAR decided to over talk me as if he in a debate over a senate seat. When he was done I started again to explain... the manager kindly apologized and offered to replace our food. Omar overheard and that set him on fire. He stormed passed us into the kitchen again calling me names and pushing his unwarranted position. Now I'm pissed. Stated as such to the manager. I said to him I couldn't believe that he was accepting of that behavior having witnessed it for himself. If I were him, I would have sent Omar packing and he should bartend for the rest of the night. I'm guessing he wasn't TABC certified but I would have risked the fine. Steer clear at least when Omar is behind the bar. read more

I went back again yesterday to give them another try (I just don't learn I guess). I took my two year old daughter. She got the grilled cheese and steam broccoli. The grilled cheese was fine (that's impossible to screw up) but the broccoli appeared to have been flash blanched then microwaved. It had a nice green color but was basically raw. My daughter couldn't chew it...even I had a hard time. I also ordered the fried green beans...not a good idea...the blandest tempura coating I'd ever tasted...dipping sauces were thin and watered down...nothing like the green beans at Friday's and Marie Callendars. I also ordered the soft pretzel sticks and queso. The sticks were OK...but the queso was completely watered down. I also ordered the napa chicken...was also very flavorless...chicken was cooked fairly well but was completely bland. The mushrooms were fine...and the zucchini completely undercooked. All in all, I'm not planning to visit another Applebee's anytime soon. There are so many other places that offer more flavor and better value. Terrible service. The host is incredibly rude. They refuse to turn the ac in the waiting area on and when asked if they could prop the door open at least was told "everyone is too busy". I would have proped the door open myself if they would have just brought a thing to me to do it. I have two small children waiting with me and they said the wait was 10-15 mins. Thats fine although there were hardly any patrons and a large section of seating was shut off. We weren't seated until after 50 mins and again, they were not even that busy. I've worked in food service before, I understand its stressful. This was not rush hour, happy hour or prime time on a friday or Saturday. The parking lot was not super full. I understand they had 2 waiters and a bartender on staff but man I've never seen a place run worse. While we were being sat I overheard another girl complain about being double charged on her bil Not sure where the malfunction is but perhaps the scheduling should be more effective. Our waitress was very nice. The host however was rude and obviously overwhelmed despite how little he was actually doing to help the couple of waiters on staff. read more

Normally a good place for dinner however tonight was terrible and we didn't even eat. Walked in to multiple dirty tables. Stood at the bar for 3 to 5 minutes with no bartender in sight. When she finally showed up still didn't recognize us or other patrons. After seeing another patron complain to the manager about service we decided to walk out. Once again we try this place and again it lives up to its poor reputation. We are greeted as we enter the place and are quickly seated in the bar area with 3 kids. The floor is so sticky that you can't even pick your feet up off the floor. They moved a table over to make room for us and under the table there was all kinds of trash. I go to the bathroom and the floors are sticky all the way to the bathroom and into the kitchen area which you have to go through to get to the bathroom from the bar area. The bathroom counters and floors are filthy, and trash flowing out of the trash can. (Pictures attached). So we get our appetizers after 15 minutes which isn't real bad, but then our food comes out literally two minutes afterwards. Of course they messed up one of the 5 orders. Upon asking the waitress what happened she she doesn't know. The kitchen staff doesn't speak much English! Poor excuse! The food was very good this time! I was already skeptical because of the low ranking, but decided to give it a try. The service was the worst. As we hardly ever saw our waiter. I ordered an appetizer and waited for him to come back and take our order. I had to go up to him at the bar because he didn't come back to the table. Order pizza for my son and it looked like one of those $1 pizza from WalMart and my appetizer was cold when it finally came 30 minutes after ordering it. Should have stuck with Chili's. read more

This location can be hit or miss. Sometimes you can get your drinks very quickly and sometimes not so much. The 2 for $20 deal that they normally have running is what seems to bring in the majority of diners. I recently ordered the appetizer special where you picked out 4 to 6 items. Our bill was close to $35 for 5 mini appetizers and 2 waters. Not much of a special if you ask me. The food has improved over the years and sometimes you get a large portion and sometimes a small. Like I said, it can be hit or miss. The waitresses are very friendly but are usually on their phone or talking to their co-workers instead of paying attention to their tables. Lunch is the most attentive time at this Applebee's location. They have a great selection of meal deals that for a lunch portion is very appropriate. read more
