Only giving this review due to our server, Teresa. We asked for an extra cutlery set, she said you should have enough and we don't have anymore. We didn't get our food for 25 mins after ordering it, she had no empathy and said well the kitchen is cooking. She forgot to get several things for the table and when we reminded her, she had no kindness. Food: its actually great for a bar and having enough food, can watch sports. Patio is great! We had the mushroom fries, chicken nachos, truffle fries, black bean burger. They were all great with my favorite being nachos. Service only for 6 people when the restaurant wasn't even that full is forcing me to give this review. read more

2025 Yelp 100 Challenge- #74 Visited Monday, December 29th around 3pm and it looked as if there was only one server. There was no hostess at the entrance so be sat at the tables by the bar. Upon sitting and looking around it looked as no one had drinks and the one server was correcting an order. Mixed feelings for my first visit! We arrived about 6:30pm and had about a 40 minute wait... no biggie, understood!! We waited outside in their patio area and hubby went to bar and got a drink while we waited. We were finally seated. Our server was friendly so no real issues there. We didn't order an appetizer, just our food. And we waited, and we waited. It took quite a while to get our food which I would say was close to about 30-40 minutes. Food was decent and hubby got to watch the football games so cool for him. We didn't leave restaurant until almost 9pm which was quite a time. Love that we have this location, it's a hot spot for families on nights and weekends. Not many places have a full bar in the area as well as a large patio with a bonus pond behind and space to run around. The inside isn't very large and can fill up quickly. This place has a lot of potential. It's in a great location with a large patio, lots of bar space, and tons of TVs to attract the sports crowd. All the drinks I've tried have been good. They have lots of beer on tap. The fried apps are also good--fried pickles and mushroom fries. Entrees are where it falls short for me, and I have tried so many of them hoping I'd find something. The salad, the tacos, the burger, the wrap, the pizza.... all just mid for the expensive price tag. There's a genuine lack of flavor to the meat, and it's been a problem regardless of what I try. read more

The atmosphere at this restaurant is clean, bright, and welcoming, which makes for a nice first impression. Our server was friendly, but the service was very slow. We had to ask multiple times for refills and even for the check. From the time we ordered three sandwiches and a kids meal to when the food arrived, it took about an hour, and then the server seemed to disappear. The food itself was just okay. Not bad, but not great either. The sandwiches were pretty dry, which made me think they may have been sitting out in the kitchen for a while, possibly contributing to the long wait. Barrel House is one of our favorite neighborhood spots! We come here for family dinners, to watch games with friends, or just for a night out without the kids. No matter what brings us in, we've always had a great experience. We love the patio, especially when the weather is nice and they have live music. It's just a really fun place to hang out. Also, shoutout to server Carly! She's was super friendly and took great care of us. It's people like her that keep us coming back. This is a new place in Frisco. They have only been open a week as of today. The menu has a huge assortment. My burger was flavorful as well as my Truffle fries. My fries came out cold and my bacon was missing from my burger, however my server Jamilah took care of it quickly and with a smile. Her service was truly awesome while this is a new place and very busy. Excellent addition to the neighborhood and I can't wait to come back. Have mixed feelings about this place! Our server overall was extremely kind and had a great personality, but didn't mention any of their specials when we first sat. I only found out about their daily specials after I had already ordered, which was pretty disappointing. They also have like 3-4 different promotional papers on the table that each list different deals on different days. Overall a very confusing setup which is unfortunate because some of the items did interest me but it was too late to change my order. My food was fine, nothing spectacular but everything came out correctly. While we were eating our server let us know that they were running a promotion where if you give the business a google review, you would get 10% off your order and she would receive a bonus. We were happy to participate since we liked her and were having a good time. Two of my friends gave positive, 4-4.5 start reviews, and then were told by the waitress that her managers would not honor the promotion unless they changed their reviews to 5s...? I am all for promotions that encourage people to leave reviews, but I didn't like the fact that the managers made the waitress come out and essentially ask us to change our reviews. She was clearly very apologetic and uncomfortable with the situation, and I felt so bad! It is a nice restaurant with good viewing for games, but the fake review poaching on Google gave me an icky feeling. Which is why I prefer to share my thoughts here instead. read more

While the atmosphere was enjoyable, having the doors to the patio open, the food left quite a bit to be desired. The Bavarian Burger was seriously under seasoned, and the "beer cheese" was grainy and tasted like it was sprayed from a can. Advertised as 1/3lb burger patties, they must be using a 70/30 (or fattier) blend because what comes out is pretty small. The fries were crispy, but the serving was stingy. All-in-all, certainly well overpriced at $16.50. The Cali Avo Chicken Salad was average, but again overpriced for what you get. Service was good and attentive. read more

I came back here to meet up with some friends for HH again. It was much less busy than the last time I came. I got a few of the HH apps to share which were all $10.00 each, Cheese Curds, Jalapeno Popper Dip and the Bone-In Wings (Buffalo). I did not personally care for jam dipping sauce that came with the cheese curds. The breading on the cheese curds does have spice in it though so I got ranch and these were pretty good. I enjoyed the jalapeno popper dip, they come with tempura chips. This dip wasn't spicy at all but still tasty. I finally got to try the bone-in wings and they were just okay. The buffalo sauce they use is really good but the wing itself was not crispy so it was just okay. I would have kept the rating the same as before but our service this go around was horrendous. Never got our servers name at all and she would frequently disappear for long periods of time. Very poor pre-bussing of empty dishes and super slow on drink refills. Our whole party was going to tip less than normal due to the terrible service but at the very end she showed some personality mentioning she had a 2 year old so we did not end up doing that. I will also point out that an African American father and son came in and were sat behind us but no one ever addressed them. A Caucasian family came in like 10 minutes after they were sat and seated to the right of us, they were addressed immediately. I could tell that the father and son also saw this and it looked like they were about to leave when a server finally talked to them and they ended up staying. Maybe my friends will find a different place to go to HH every week. read more

I hate leaving this review because I really wanted to like this place. It's in walking distance from me so I was hoping it could be a regular spot for me to watch games and get a drink but unfortunately no... First and foremost, the staff was good. Very attentive, checked on us a couple of times to make sure we were good. The restaurant itself is very nice, both inside and out. Love the high top tables and chairs. But the food and drinks! Soooooo bad.... My cocktail tasted very watered down and didn't even taste like any alcohol was in it. Ordered the eggrolls as an appetizer and they came out extremely hot, pretty sure they were nuked in the microwave. Moving on, got the truffle fries...even worse than the eggrolls. They were so hard, and not in a good way...tasted like they were straight out the freezer. Just not good, like not at all. Lastly, had the pork tacos and did not get better. The tortillas were cold and stiff. Very difficult to bite through. And the coleslaw was overwhelming, way too much that I had to scoop some out to enjoy the meat. I would not want to take friends or family here because of the experience with the food and drinks. I'm sooooo skeptical to give it another shot for myself to see if it gets better. read more

We Door Dashed Barrel House for a very late lunch/early dinner, after a suggestion from a friend, and it was really good! We ordered an All American Burger with Fries, a Barrel Burger with a side salad and French Dressing, Bone-in Wings with Buffalo Sauce, Onion Rings, Truffle Fries Side and the Strawberry Cheesecake Eggrolls. One of our burger orders wasn't the right burger, but both burgers delivered were great! The side salad was fresh and beautiful, but they must've been out of French dressing because we got Ranch (which was really good!). The Onion Rings were good but needed to be crisped up in the air fryer and the Strawberry Cheesecake Eggrolls were a super tasty treat! Someone recommended this place and it is new in Frisco. I was happy to see that they had a Patty Melt and decided to head over. Open atmosphere/patio environment seemed pretty cool. Not the most spacious place though. So the food. As you know I ordered the Patty melt with their potato rounds (tater tots). I gave special instructions that I wanted to d the burger medium rare and my bread to be buttered well and grilled crispy. It came out with soft bread, not crispy at all, but the meat was a good medium rare. I sent it back explaining what was wrong and they brought me out pretty much the same thing. Little butter and not crispy at all. It was clear they took my medium rare burger and pmre-cooked it because it now came out well done. Needless to say I didn't eat it and asked for the check. What a GREAT place. Was visiting family in Frisco when we saw the soft opening of this place. As with most places that is sports bar set up, I try the burger and fries for starters. Burger was excellent, fries were good and crispy. Food was served hot which is always a plus. My wife had chicken wrap with sweet potato waffle fries and she could not say enough good things about it. The wrap was very large well worth the money as was the whole meal. If I had not been ready too hit the road their on tap beer selection is awesome. We will differently be coming back here as menus has so many options, that just reading the description makes your mouth water. We were very excited to try this place out, but were sadly disappointed. THE GOOD: The staff was great. The waitress and manager we talked to were very attentive, polite, and understanding. The manager comped our meal. Credit where credit is due. Now for THE BAD: 1. We walked in and selected our table, all the chairs were dirty. 2. Sat down, I see more dirt/food on the ground and several crickets/bugs as well. 3. Kid's burger comes out looking medium rare (asked them to make a new one) and the accompanying fries tasted like they were microwaved. 4. Chicken salad sandwich had HAIR in it. Not okay. 5. Sante Fe salad wasn't awful, but certainly subpar. Something you would expect from a Sonic or McDonald's. Very bland. 6. Horrible acoustics, very noisy in there. I can see the patios being a decent spot to grab a drink, but we won't be coming back. This is FRISCO. There are endless places to go spend your money when dining out and the competition/standards are very high. I wish the owners and staff all the best, hopefully they take some of this feedback and work on improving things. Great location too, pity. read more

Let's keep in mind that this is not a five star, Michelin restaurant. It is a very good, local store that serves good quality burgers, onion rings, and a wide variety of other bar/ restaurant foods. We had great food and service, and happily recommend it for what it is. Sometimes things don't go well, just like any of us at work, but as long as the wait staff fix it and pay attention to their customers needs, give them a break. They have a lot of sauce options but they're not listed on the menu - be sure to ask your server for a list and some explanation too. The ambiance was pretty cool. Big screens up where you can watch from any angle. The service was great especially for only just recently opening in our area. Our server was attentive and friendly. I had The Miami sandwich which is a twist on a Cuban, if you like those. It was delicious. My husband ordered the Avocado Chicken Sandwich which looked amazing but that needed a little more flavor with some seasoning, a little more char, an aioli or something to kick the chick up a notch. Otherwise, the cook for doneness was on point cuz it was definitely juicy and not dried out. The fries were great and I had the barrel house cucumbers which were amazing. Overall, the whole experience was great and we just recently ordered on their app, which I recommend if you're in the neighborhood and want to grab and go or if you're close enough, have delivered. I really wanted to like this place. First, our server, ugg, she would have to be told 4 times to get silverware, napkins, etc... Second, we were watching the world cup game and during one of the best games, they open both the front and back of the restaurant on a 100-degree day and start playing music so loud you could not hear the game. Why??? The food, maybe a 4/10...salad warm, burger cold, $10 happy hour cheese curds? That is not a happy hour. Servers were eating and reading their phones why the place was packed, dear lord. Lastly, the beer...was already warm, but then you open both front and back door and the warm beer turns hot. I will not be back and trust me, I will tell all of my friends to stay far away. I wanted to share some honest feedback from a visit my wife and I made to your restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. I hesitate to leave a star rating because we never had the chance to eat. The experience fell apart due to service before we could even order. We chose your restaurant because it opened up sometime back and thought they would have the kinks worked out. The menu looked great online and we were excited to try something new. Unfortunately, from the moment we walked in, we felt overlooked. No one greeted us at the entrance. There were two bartenders behind the bar and a couple of guests seated there, but neither bartender acknowledged us. We stood for a few minutes without any direction eventually, after a couple minutes, we started walking into seated ourselves and Finally, a male staff member with long black hair seemed a little put out and I asked do we just sit anywhere he said yeah just go sit anywhere went and got two menus and gave us two menus. He ended up going into the kitchen area, And eventually, a female staff member came out. The restaurant was not busy, maybe 20% full. We seated ourselves, And when the female staff member came up, we just asked for some water to start. My wife stepped away to use the restroom, and when the server returned With the water, Not even asking us if I had time to look at the menu and seeing my wife wasn't sitting next to me she asked for our appetizer order. I asked if she could give us a moment until my wife returned. She walked away, and retreated to the kitchen. During the next several minutes, we watched other staff actively tending to their tables, refilling waters and checking on guests. Our table was completely overlooked. After sometime, she appeared from the back, walked from table to table, she was serving and never came back over to us and asked us if we needed anything or we're ready to place our order. My wife was going to flag down one of the other guy serving, and I told her not to because if If she came back, we would place our order, but I wasn't going to tip . After waiting another several minutes, Seeing her come out a second time and then retreating back to the kitchen for something for another table without stopping by ours we decided to leave. As we were walking out, A bald staff member who is working diligently asked if everything was okay. I said that we had been waiting a long time for service. The response was simply "okay," without any attempt to apologize, recover the experience, or ask how they could make it right. No one tried to stop us from leaving or address the situation. I travel frequently and dine out often. In my experience, people try new restaurants because its a new place, the uniqeness or kind of food or recommendations from friends. They return for at least two of three reasons: great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. From what we saw being served to other tables, the food looked excellent, and we were genuinely looking forward to our meal. Unfortunately, the service prevented us from ever getting to that point. I'm sharing this not to complain for the sake of complaining, but because I know owners care deeply about how their guests are treated, and service is often a reflection of training and culture. I hope this feedback helps you identify where improvements can be made so future guests don't walk out the door feeling the way we did. read more
