I haven't been here in a while, and won't be coming back anytime soon. I ordered the double glazed ribs with mashed potatoes. My mother ordered the boneless wings, and her hysband ordered the Chicken Parm dinner. The ribs were dry and tasted like they were reheated from the day before. The mashed potatoes had a weird after taste and did not taste fresh. My mom's boneless wings were hard as a rock and the fries were soggy and looked old. Very subpar. The manager did take 10% off the ticket, which was nice, and the waitress was very nice. Our ticket was still $60. Expensive for a disappointing meal. Sorry, but we won't be back. read more

Food I ordered the rack of ribs and they said it was a side of coleslaw, which was the smallest side of coleslaw I've ever seen the rack of ribs fell off the bone because they were so dry. They had nothing to hold onto you had a dose in barbecue sauce just to make them edible and french fries which I think I had 10 of them maybe. I can vividly remember one of my first visits to an Applebee's way back in the 1980s in Northern Virginia's town of Falls Church! At the time, there were not a lot of really, really good big box or conglomerate restaurants packing the eating industry - yet Applebee's was and to some extent in such a competitive world is holding its own today... I'm glad to say, especially for nostalgic purposes. It was one of the first to actually create a neighborhood pub feel to it. I've been somewhat fond of this American-style, casual dining establishment over the years. With its overall consistency, reliability and dependability, despite the various iterations corporate has demanded of them! This outfit has gone through the gamut of offerings throughout the years, and their recent meal renderings are not much different in their marketing for one's attraction. But down deep, people keep Applebee's alive, because we are content with its overall expectations. We know what we want, and we can pretty much expect what we want when visiting. They are no Ruth Christ's or Flemming's, but then again, we don't expect them to be. Applebee's your comfort food with a twist. This is one of the few conglomerates operating restaurants that can actually provide 1) amazing service: 4.0 , 2) excellent attention to detail especially in hospitality: 3.5 , 3) cleanliness, hygiene and comfort in their décor, amenities and lavatories: 3.5 , 4) an abundant and/or varied food and/or product menu: 4.0 , 5) consistently appetizing offerings: 3.5 , 6) a sincere customer service: 3.5 , 7) unique, innovative or specialized menus: 4.0 , 8) value and price of meals: 3.5 , and most of all, 9) the inert desire of one wanting to return, again and again for the experience gained: 4.0 . These are some if not most of what my basic requirements are when visiting one of these establishments each time. My wife and I, although not professional reviewers, are connoisseurs of excellent foods whether a fine upscale cuisine, middle of the road common eats, or a low-end fast-food joint. In this way, I have developed a to-the-point method for determining the personal worthiness of each establishment visited as noted in my opening. Two questions- 1) why isn't this Applebee's on Yelp yet and 2) why isn't there an Applebee's in every neighborhood? This was the best Applebee's I've ever eaten at! Justin took great care of us and all of the happy tables around us. Just as we were arriving he was making a little boys night by bringing him a surprise ice cream Sunday. You can't beat the 2 for $35 deal- an app and 2 entrees (prices slightly vary depending on what you get). I had the bourbon chicken and shrimp with mashed potatoes- probably could have licked the plate. Large, delicious portions. I've been to plenty of Applebees restaurants between Washington and Arizona, and never, not ONCE, have I received such poor service as I did at this location tonight! First off, we went here because it was close to the mall we were in. We are seated about 5-7 minutes after we walked in (even though the dining room was almost empty) because there was no one at the front to greet anyone. We kept being told someone would be with us in a moment as servers passed by. We finally get seated and wait to order our drinks. After several minutes our server comes and takes our drink order while we're perusing the menu. When he delivers our drinks, he asks if we're ready to order. My husband asked about the pico de gallo on the quesadilla and if it could be left off, which he was told yes so he ordered the three appetizer plate. I asked what the "tangy sauce" that was described on the grilled cheese bacon cheeseburger was. He could only describe it as a tangy sauce, so I asked if it was similar to a thousand island sauce where there were bits of stuff in it, and he said no. So I ordered that thinking "ok, so it's a bacon cheeseburger on a grilled cheese with ketchup/mayo type sauce or bbq". Little did I know... When our food arrives, my husband's appetizer platter comes out fine and I get my grilled cheeseburger. As soon as I took a bite (small nibble off of one corner), my mouth starts burning. So I open the top and there are pepper flakes in the "tangy sauce". That was all I ate of the entire dinner because I absolutely cannot eat peppers. They gag me and I WILL vomit from them! We wait until our waiter comes back about 10 minutes later and ask for a box for my husband's leftover appetizer. Originally we asked for one for my food but there is no point taking home something I can't eat. My husband mentions that to our server, to which he asks if I have an allergy to them. I answered him honestly and said no, but that I cannot eat peppers and that was why I asked about the sauce to begin with. He goes back to talk to his manager, comes back out another 10 minutes later, and says he can't remove it from the bill or send it back because it has one nibble off the corner. Well how the heck else would I know it had peppers unless I tried the first nibble? I don't dissect my food prior to eating it when I've already asked about the sauce. He says he can offer a 10% discount ($1.60) for it even though I couldn't eat it. We ask to speak with the manager at that point and he goes back to the kitchen for several more minutes. He comes out again and said they were short staffed in the kitchen and the manager was not able to come out for even a minute or two for us to explain the situation to him (I was told the managers name was Joel). We boxed up my husband's remaining food and I left hungry without anything edible for me. This is the first time we've been to this location, and the first time I've ever left a $0 tip, but we will never be back. read more

Burger was good. Music very loud. 2 tables in the bar and it took 25 minutes to get burgers. Manager sat on computer at the end of the bar oblivious to anything. Server did not know how to make an old fashion. Could hear her trying to get help to no avail. So I changed to a beer. Bathrooms were a mess. Not welcoming. We won't be back. Go in with my son, we order my drink & then order my son a soda and she asks "how old is he, is he 21" we say no, she goes he can't sit at the bar.. we moved to a table and we look over and there's a baby at the bar... 2 mins later she's got this baby behind the bar. So my 17 year old can't sit there but you can have a baby BEHIND the bar? And I know, every restaurant can tell anyone below the age of 21 to not sit at the actual bar. But I'm sure If they were audited a baby should be the same. read more

Service was terrible. We were a party of 8, which included two children's menu . She brought out our salads and left .We had no tableware . One person in our group got up and went n to the hostess station to get some. Then she brought three meals and left. We started eating. She came back later (the first three almost finished ) and said 'how are we doing?'. Same person pointed to the five people n opposite and said they're still waiting for food . Someone came out with three meals. Our waitress comes back and says 'Do you need anything else?' Again, points to the two who still have no food. She responds 'oh s**t, that's why I hate when others bring out my food!' She takes off again and finally comes back with the last two meals and again asks if we need anything else. Response : one drink refill and some ranch dressing please . We never got the ranch dressing . Also, we had a birthday boy and earlier she said she'd bring a small brownie and ice cream but then forgot . Normally, that would not be a big deal but when you add it in to everything else, it's frustrating . We talked to the manager, who took almost 15% off the bill. We felt like we ate in shifts and they didn't really care about us . Also one person ordered steak with cheese and shrimp and didn't get the cheese or shrimp . When he asked she took the steak back and they sprinkled grated Parmesan cheese on the steak and 'oh the shrimp will be out later '. Ugh . I feel obligated to leave a warning for anyone with severe food allergies. I've never had any issues with Applebee's before, but this location clearly is not taking proper precautions around allergies. I alerted the waitress to my nut allergy and was brought out a salad with nuts. She noticed it as she was setting it down so got it 'remade.' It came back out and I dug around to make sure they really did remake it, and there were still nuts underneath the other toppings. As this is a chain restaurant, I don't know who will even see this review at all but I'd hope that A) a manager see this and takes it seriously, retrains staff, and ENSURES that proper precautions are taken; and B) given that I will not be returning to this location to find out whether or not they improve, anyone, whether an adult with allergies or a parent with littles who have allergies, sees this and makes a safer choice for their family. This is a serious health and safety issue and I have never been to a restaurant where I felt such blatant disregard for the safety not only of myself but anyone who has these allergies. It is not hard to take proper precautions and it can be life or death for any adult or child who walks through your doors. read more

After reading some of the mixed reviews of this Applebee's, while shopping in the adjacent shopping mall, I wanted to catch up on the Saturday college football games and have a light lunch around 12:30pm today. I entered the restaurant and stood behind several couples waiting to be seated and went to use the restroom. Suffice it to say that the restroom definitely was in need of janitorial attention. I returned to the restaurant entry and the same guests were still waiting to be seated. When the hostess returned to the stand she explained that they were short staffed and there would be a short wait for a table. Her demeanor, the bathroom's lack of cleanliness combined with the fact that the restaurant was not half full I elected to leave. read more

I had such a great experience at Applebee's! The girl who helped me was so friendly and went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed. She even gave me an extra side of the spicy honey sauce so I could try it for next time when I order the riblets -- which was such a thoughtful touch. Everyone I came across was kind and welcoming from the moment I walked in, and my food came out hot. Food was GROSS and I usually don't complain. Wings tasted burned and then just covered in sauce. Rice on my husband's dish tasted burnt. My hamburger tasted so charred and grease tasted raunchy that I couldn't eat it. Left burnt pieces on the side and couldn't even eat the hamburger and the server didn't even ask... Can I do zero stars? I am not one for typical chain restaurant but we were limited on our restaurants in the area open on a Sunday. This place is filthy! Absolutely filthy. The seats are sticky with residue. The chairs have spill stains (fabric is washable) that can be easily wiped down. The manager should be ashamed of themselves. This wasn't a mess left from having a busy day and evening. This restaurants has months of filth built up. The food was absolutely awful. I get it, it's a chain restaurant but there was absolutely no excuse for the inedible food. Took 30 minutes for an appetizer and a side salad to come out and there were four tables seated. Honestly, I have no desire to return. This was my first Applebee's visit ever, and it was more than enough. Upon walking in, everything felt cheap and run-down, almost like a motel restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Service took awhile, and once we finally got someone, they were just wearing athletic clothes and there were no uniforms, it seems. Plus we had to flat down a different person every time we needed something. As for the food, everything tasted pre-packaged/premade or frozen and loaded with preservatives. I ordered the salmon, which was thin, fishy, and dry, plus the potatoes that came with in were obviously just scooped out from a large batch. All in all, if you're looking for a quick junk meal, this place might fit the bill, but even then, many other sports bars and grills would be far better. read more

They weren't overly busy & I noticed a lot of empty tables but people weren't being sat. I assume staffing issues but then after the 25 mins passed they started to tell us that the kitchen was behind. The place was clean and the bar was full. The major sporting events were on the TV. We did finally get our table and were greeted quickly by our waitress. The drinks and food came out quickly. I ordered the mocktail on the beach and received it in a regular soda cup. It's something I wasn't impressed with because it didn't have the presentation that was advertised and if it's going to be advertised as an NA version of an alcoholic drink it should come that way. We ordered food for delivery and the estimate for delivery was spot on, that's where the good news ends! I ordered the riblets and they were so fatty is was ridiculous! My wife order the Southwest Chicken Bowl and was not impressed with the taste of her food. Our daughter had the Blackened Salmon and said it was ok, nothing great, just ok. I ordered mine with mashed potatoes but received fry's that were soggy and didn't taste that good. Waited an hour and a half for 2 burgers, chicken tenders, and some pasta. Food came out a few minutes apart, pasta was COLD. One of the worst restaurant experiences I've had. My boyfriend and I came in here Saturday night because it was late, nothing was open, it was our only option basically, and out of nowhere we had the BEST time. Thank you, Kaitlin!!! Kaitlin, our server was so sweet and funny, she helped me when I dropped my glasses case and couldn't find it, and then she made us laugh so much we were crying laughing, and by the time we left we were in a totally different headspace than when we came in. It had been a difficult day and it turned out what we needed was one person to be genuinely kind and friendly to us. It made such a difference to go out and have a fantastic night and be around other people having a great time. Overall the atmosphere here is really fun and lively, everyone on the staff was friendly and welcoming, they all seemed happy to be there, and everyone sitting near us was having a great time, we ended up talking to another couple and their friends who said it's always upbeat like this. We'll definitely be back. Our server was awesome, the food was good, the drinks and the AC were strong, and we laughed more than we have in years. read more
