My family and I used to come to this Applebee's all the time when i was younger and we never had any issues. So we thought it would be a great idea to order out, but that was a huge mistake. All I have to say is they clean the blenders using bleach products! This bartender had the same gloves on the whole time we were there and even asking for a drink or food order was like we were bothering the crap out of her. This must be illegal to clean the blenders out with bleach and I hope no one gets sick. Will be reporting to the health department with copy of photo. Hopefully the owner gets their act together! No wonder they have two stars!! Just disgusting! Update: apparently this bartender and the manager who supplied the bleach were both fired as a result of my post here as pictures made their rounds with Applebee's. The bartenders name in the picture was Ashley so hopefully this Ashley isn't hired by anyone else in the area and other restaurant owners in area see this post. She apparently didn't like being publicly called out but her fault for using Bleach and almost poisoning people. We went there on a whim, for a late lunch. It was super busy and they were short staffed but were able to seat us. One person bussing and one host and one waiter in the section we were seated at. We thought we might be waiting for a while. But when our waiter was super busy the host came over and took our order and also the table in front of us. She was awesome. I didn't catch her name unfortunately but she worked Monday on Labor Day and she was there about one-ish The order came out quickly with our gracious waiter, again so busy didn't catch his name. the drinks were better than great as I had their famous perfect margarita, the food was delicious and they came and checked on it several times. I tried this restaurant because I'd been given a $15 gift card for it. Since we were broke, my sister and I went for the 2 for $20 special. We got mozzarella sticks as an appetizer (good), my sister got the chicken tenders with french fries, which was good, and I got the riblets with fries which were okay but not great. The riblets were a little dry and hard to eat with all the bones. The BBQ sauce was pretty decent though, spicey! The ice tea tasted strange. Our server was good, but the greeter/seater was just awful! He was so moody and rude that I couldn't understand why his manager just didn't send him home! He was the same as we were leaving as well. My sister and I laughed over it, but I do feel it was unprofessional of management to allow him to continue to behave that way. read more

The service here it is horrible. Was looking for the waitress to get a knife to cut up my daughter, who has a disability and needed her salad Cut up. Could not find the waitress so we can ask the hostess to get us a knife. The hostess came back about five minutes later and told us that she told the waitress that we needed a knife. Sooooo the hostess walked all the way back into the kitchen to tell the waitress and then came back to our table to tell us she informed the waitress what we needed. I agree with this two star rating. The food really does taste pre cooked and microwaved. I mean the prices are great, about $12-13 dollars a person but the food is just below average. It's quite difficult to earn an overall 2 star rating on yelp. But Applebee's has earned this. We came for lunch during the weekend. I was willing to overlook the men's bathroom smelling like a bathroom in a bus terminal but my wife went to wash her hands after we ordered. Vomit all over the women's room floor is usually a dealbreaker. We politely notified the manager who seemed more indignant than horrified. This place has gotten to be one of the worst places I have ever been to. I don't know why my husband and I decided to walk in here that night because our usual hang out is Chili's. Something told me not to come in here, the truth be told when we did finally get a seat which was about a half an hour after we walked in, the waitress was so utterly rude! I have never experienced such disrespect as the guest of a supposed restaurant. I went to applebees for a nice valentine's day dinner with my friends. We were blown off from the moment we got sat down being disregarded for other tables. Every question we had or simple drink request was met with opposition and as if it was an inconvenience to the waitress. The waitress in question did not bring the table out meals and never checked if the table needed anything else (like the tables remaining food, or drinks which we needed both of). After the appetizers were finished the waitress immediately brought the check over as half the table still had not received their entrees. When this was brought to the waitress' attention she made it seem as it it was the guest issue and made no effort to resolve the issue. I am not one to write bad reviews, but I can say that I have never felt more disrespected by a person who is in the hospitality service in my life. read more

I've gone enough to know to check my bag before leaving the parking lot. If you order Togo CHECK YOUR BAG and make sure you received all you PAID for. Also, DO NOT ORDER CURBSIDE PICKUP. I have waited 20-25 minutes in my car, walked in the restaurant and my food was just sitting on the hostess stand with constant staff members just walking by it. Please GO IN IMMEDIATELY for your Togo, they will let it sit and get cold. Lastly, I do NOT suggest tipping online in advance. I recommending tipping when you get there based on the experience you are provided. I tipped 20% on my order to be forgotten about, then ignored In the establishment, the young lady who allegedly was the hostess had the NASTIEST and RUDEST attitude. Manager is a POS. We had problems right from the start and the icing on the cakes was when they used our gist card to pay for the table behind us. Then they couldn't credit the gift card back. Then they couldn't give us a receipt showing our breakdown of pricing. Meals were horrible and main course came out in stages. Two people served and then the other 2 meals came out 8 minutes later. I always loved going to Applebee's for the sake of the convenience. The fast service, 2 for 1 drinks, just on the rare occasion. However, on this particular visit my boyfriend and I were starving after a long day of shopping. Not even 2 minutes after we walked in we were ignored by the hostess not even a simple "Hello," which was weird because the place was empty. After about 10 minutes of waiting she proceeded to let us know she hadn't seated us or acknowledged us yet because she "had a sweet sixteen to go to" and the next shift hadn't shown up yet. At this point we were confused that a worker would even reveal that information to us. After about 15 minutes we were finally seated. We ordered two beers, and waited over 15 minutes for those for her to come back and tell us they didn't even have them! So we ordered two different ones, our app, and the meal. I haven't gone to Applebee's in while but I went with my cousins last night. I remember that my 1 cousin got the 4oz sirloin and so did I and my other cousin got the ribs. The cousin that got the ribs said it was fine and tasted great. The steak was charcoal and my cousin's fries were cold. My mashed potatoes were delicious. The last 4 times I have eaten at this particular establishment there has been some major mishap or another. They are extremely busy and I can understand waitstaff stress and wait times being a bit above average for drinks and bringing out the food but this place is just a mess. 1st mishap was clear plastic packaging cut up (careless in the kitchen) in my 4 yr. old's hamburger, which he swallowed some of after choking for about 15 seconds scaring me to death, and all's I got was a manager come to the table and ask if my son was okay and they offered to make another burger or anything he wanted. (no apology mind you, and it was an offer to remake not an insist.) 2nd mishap was after waiting 45-50 minutes for the food to come out (no waitress stop at table at all not even to refresh the drinks or to make niceties) the food was just dehydrated to the point of disgust. I have gone the majority of my life never making a complaint about food being wrong and this was disgusting and I couldnt eat it. I did tell the waitress and her response was, "well it was really busy so it was probably sitting back there a while. I could have it remade for you..." I said well we already waited forever for this, forget it" she replied, "well I offered!" She never came back to drop the bill we waited about 30 minutes more before realizing she was ignoring us after seeing her go outside for 3 smoke breaks and flirting with a waiter for the rest of the time. 3rd mishap waitress was playing with my son and overly friendly but it was okay my kid was amused. Then he dropped a crayon and she came over and said he had to be more careful because she could step on it and break her neck. My then 5 year old whom is quick witted says, I just dropped it and I was about to pick it up but you grabbed it first, thanks" she then raised her voice and told him to not back talk her. She came very close to landing on her skanky ass when I stood up abruptly and told her not to talk to my kids during dinner and to leave us be and let his mother parent him. Then I went to the hostess and asked for a manager..manager came by about 8 minutes later, a mousy girl named Cary and seemed overwhelmed. 4th mishap, I went to a family dinner (against my wishes to this establishment) there were 10 of us. The waitress was transparent with her judgement (my mother is for all intents and purposes a simpleton that could benefit from more frequent bathing) While someone else was placing their order she kept glancing at my mother with a look of disgust (which I understand but show some professionalism, make fun or show disgust out of sight of a paying customer especially one who would have tipped about $100.00 because she is to generous and stupid) The food took a while, the adults were served before the 3 small kids, which made us adults angry and we fed the kids our food. Then when my 11 year old's burger came out it was cool rare when ordered well done, I asked them to cook it more...15 minutes went by and when the burger was brought back out it was inedible. It had been microwaved for bread and lettuce and tomato still on for what must have been 10 minutes. I asked what the issue was, why she would bring it to the table looking like it did, (the fries looked like fossils) and the plate was SCORCHING hot. I was so f***ing mad. She had the good sense to look appalled and seem humiliated, grabbed the plate without her rag and burned her hand and dropped the disgusting food all over my niece...hot plate and all. Manager comes to the table and says they will make something else that will be super quick if my son wants it so he asks for a side salad..WHen the check come to the table the waitress informs us that the manager just kept the burger on and gave the salad free..so I said but the burger is more expensive, the side salad was $3.00 and the burger was almost $12.00 she was confused trying to explain why me taking it up the ass was more beneficial than paying for what we ate...I told her firmly that she better take the burger off, and then bring the bill back. My family thinking that it would be quick went to their cars while my mother waited to pay with me standing with her. She is handicapped and has a hard time standing. They cleaned out table off and resat it while we were standing in the aisle waiting for the reprint of the check. The waitress was gone for over 15 minutes. We went to look for her she was no where to be found, finally my mother flagged another wait staff down and asked them to get her..she came out looking annoyed and frustrated and said that she couldnt get the bill to come out right and the coupon my mother gave her was not working right. She told us to go have a seat and she would get to us as soon as she figured it out, I asked her where she would like us to sit since they resat our table, to which she seemed shocked. Even with the small number of people here our food still took next to an hour to come out. When we got the food it was nothing short of barely edible garbage. We had lunch here today in Middletown. We were greeted immediately and sat in a nice comfortable booth. For a chain restaurant I was very surprised by how many different delicious choices I was facing and had a hard time deciding. I know that they have a high sodium content so I was trying to stay healthy but the wonton wraps with chicken and cilantro were too good to pass up. I got a Chinese chicken salad with grilled chicken not fried and my friend had a shrimp salad from the 600 calorie and less menu. The wontons were to die for. We both enjoyed our salad. I had enough to take home for another meal. I will also mention that the water served was more like bottled water. Very crisp and refreshing. It was a nice lunch. I would go back but just on occasion because it can get very fattening. Oh and the total tab for two good-sized salads, an appetizer, & a diet coke was $37. The brand is in bad shape but not half as bad as this location. One would have to have no regard for service or food quality/taste to dine here. Wife wanted the triple chocolate meltdown. The manager sits at a table two tables from us and stuffs his face while I have dishes piled up since the server can bother to clear them. Chips for spinach dip were the bottom of the pan shreds of pieces. The pretzels were microwaved. The fries ice cold. Heaven forbid you want a refill on a drink. I had to ask for anything and everything I wanted at least twice. That is not service. Management and staff alike could care less.
