Went there with my boyfriend this Saturday. I give 2 stars instead of 1 because our food was actually pretty tasty. The service on the other hand; horrible! We weren't given straws or silver ware (I walked and got my own straw from the bar). My boyfriend asked for a second margarita before our meal was even out, and it didn't arrive until after he was done eating; we sent it back. I didn't receive a refill either. We were never checked on while eating our food, and I wasn't offered a box before leaving even though I ate less than half of my meal. At that point I didn't even want to bring it home. Food was okay, but service service was horrible. When did you ever see wings come with celery, but not blue cheese, had to ask for it. Caesar salad arrived, & it was just lettuce, dressing on the side, but no croutons, no cheese, just lettuce. I am curious as to what Kevin Carroll (COO) is doing about this on going poor service. As I know what I am getting when I come to a QSR establishment it just so hard not to think about the lack of service attention. I am in the industry for over 30 years and service just needs to be on the forefront of the restaurant business. On this snowy night servers were probably cut due to the anticipation of a slow down. I witnessed a "not my job" mentality when the hostess mentioned she was not on the clock but sat us any way as the bartender told her to after we waited for 4-5 minutes at the door. As far as the food goes my expectations are never high, but I sent back my hard egg for my burger as I was expecting over easy. Our server was ok but had the personality ,which was very friendly. The only bad thing was she was overwhelmed with a larger section than usual. Luckily my family and young ones like this place. read more

This will be my last visit!!! Walked into a hostess who clearly is not happy working here and expressed it freely and made my family and I feel very uncomfortable. We asked for a booth which just needed to be cleaned and was told they don't know when it can be cleaned! The bathroom was horrible, out of 3 stalls only 1 was useable! One has no toilet paper and the other one was so filthy. We asked for ketchup for our meal which we never received. The table wasn't clean when our dessert arrived, it's difficult to eat while there is a pile of dirty dishes. I can continue express how horrible this experience was, but just take this as a warning to never visit this location!!!! Not only does the food take forever to come, (like they are making homemade freshness in there) but when it gets to your table, especially the entrees, (depending on what you get) is disgusting and cold. Had lunch on Saturday afternoon. Server was nice, but somewhat distracted and seemingly overworked. Forgot about appetizers and ended up getting entree before appetizers. Apparently one of cook had medical emergency and that created backlogs for everyone, not much anyone can do in situation like that. But fish and chips... even after asking to keep it fried/baked for few more minutes due to unfortunate event of undercooked dish twice before, it still managed to come out undercooked again. Not sure if they actually follow direction or just fudge it. Burgers came out nicely, BBQ fries looked nothing like one on the menu (regular fries with some smoky powder sprinkled on it) and not sure if kids menu pizza good or bad. It didn't look all that interesting (and my nephew took one bite before moving onto yogurt). In short, go with burger, skip fish and chips and pray your cook doesn't pass out when you visit. read more

Just left Applebee's and had Jackie as our waitress. She was extremely unfit for the job position. She had no clue what the bars specials were or what their lowest priced drinks were. Then, we tried to use the special they had for if specific drinks weren't offered (which she offered no drinks to begin with) and then she had the audacity to bring another drink for us and she CHARGED us. It was suppose to be FREE. Then, she wouldn't give us half priced apps because some of us got water as drinks. What kind of restaurant has service like this??? This place is a complete joke. You're better off giving your time and energy to Chuck E. Cheese next door, I'm sure they'd give better service. This place has excellent servers and great food!! Especially their burgers! Their juicy and never frozen just delicious. Baby back ribs are awesome and the sizzling Bourbon street steak is so yummy. Prices are cheap too. Give it a try it has definitely improved tons!!! read more

Stopped in with, family and friends they had kids 4 & 5, they got children's menus. Maybe the adults should have also as the kids food came right away. I ordered the fish and chips nice size portion of fish a little too greasy, but edible, had to constantly ask our server for refills, my daughter ordered her chicken sandwich with mayo on the side as it's spicy mayo. Well it came with spicy mayo on it and regular mayo on the side, after flagging down our missing waitress telling her about the mistake and asking for refills again. The manager came over to see what the issue was, meanwhile my daughter is trying to cool down her taste buds, but no refill yet. The manager offered to bring the menu as my daughter was just going to cancelled her order and just stick with her appetizer instead. Meanwhile the kids were done and waiting for ice cream which hadn't shown up yet. The manager says "I will get those boys their ice cream with whipped cream personally". Well guess who shows up 2 ice creams no whipped cream. It's our friend the missing waitress, we ask her for 3 take away containers, at this point we just want to get out of this place. The manager comes back to see how the kids are doing, I tell her about the whipped cream and off she goes to get that. Meanwhile no boxes, no refills, no waitress. Finally the whip cream arrives I ask for boxes again and get the check. Didn't get charged for the chicken sandwich or the botched up ice creams. Big deal now I have to go to McDonald's drive thru for my daughter, but that's a whole other story... read more

Remodeled inside with local sports teams. Love the hometown feel, much nicer appearance than years ago. Had the best waitress we've ever had anywhere. New sandwiches were excellent. So glad we visited, last time was a bunch of years ago. Montréal steak on ciabatta had gourmet touches, and the all American smash burger had a fancy kind of mac sauce. All well presented. My bf and I went Sunday night for dinner. Dollaritas taste like complete Sh*t. It tasted like someone dumped 20 cigarettes in my drink and I DONT SMOKE. When I told my server (Roxy) I didn't like the drink she said i was "stuck with it". Like it was too much work for her to just take it off of my table. My bf & I ordered chicken dishes & the chicken was so dry I couldn't even taste it. It was like the only seasoning they put was salt. The rice was also undercooked. HOW DO YOU MESS UP RICE?!?! Horrible staff, horrible food and obviously horrible management. Time to get a new crew who actually cares about people's dining experience so they will want to come back. This place is horrible. Every time I have went there I get a waitress/waiter that is moody doesn't even greet us but does to every other table. The last time I went there it took 15 minutes for the waitress to come over to just disappear once again. We received our appetizer still did not get our silverware. Did not need it for the appetizer though. Finally our lunch appears still no silver ware so I ask and she seemed like that was a hard task. 6 minutes later she arrives again. My friends food was beyond charred. Mine was ok. When the check came I paid with my debit and she paid cash. She then calculate everything wrong which caused her to do a refund. I walked out then forgetting my debit card which was wrapped in receipt paper. Which was my fault of forgetting but when I went back in to get it apparently the waitress never saw it. She was the one who cleared the table along with the book for the receipts. They eventually found it god knows where. But she seemed annoyed that she even had to look. Terrible terrible customer service. Waited at the door for the hostess to seat us and she never showed up so a newer server had to seat us. She then wound up taking our table. We wanted the 2/$20 deal and I wanted one of the burgers. The burgers are all 11.79 all except the one that's included in the "deal" it was 10.79. I asked if we could substitute the burger AND PAY THE EXTRA $1. We were told no because the AP manager was there so they wouldn't accommodate me. I've been working in the restaurant business my entire life and was always told you never tell a customer no. I wasn't asking for anything crazy and was going to pay the extra. We left. We frequent applebees a lot and now you lost our business entirely. Get your act together. Went to Fuji steak house instead. read more

Had dinner with my family there today....the service was horrible. The fountain drinks taste like mold. They REALLY REALLY need to clean their machine. The pasta was watery. Yesterday two friends and myself visited Applebee's in Middletown to wind down after work, have a nice meal, and enjoy a nice $1 long island iced tea special. Our server, a nice young man named Alex, took our orders promptly and since we ordered alcohol, he checked our driver's licenses as any good waiter should. Alex was a friendly, efficient and funny waiter and we were very satisfied. The manager Steve Fagan, however, made our experience very unpleasant. My friends are 22 years old and I am 23. When Steve Fagan brought us our drinks, he commented on how young we all look. I was very upset to have my appearance commented on by a stranger. He proceeded to ask us if our ID's were checked (they were), and if we were New York State residences (we are). He told us we look 4, yes four, years old, and I was just appalled by how rude he was. I understand wanting to make sure we are of age and to obey the law, but our waiter was doing everything he should and I was very upset by the way in which we were asked and treated. Never returning to this restaurant again. Wonderful service, terrible managerial skills. I feel sorry for each and every one of his employees. Thanks, Steve. read more

My family and I went there a Saturday night it was not busy at all had enough service staff, hostess led us to our table we literally sat at the table for 20 to 30 mins and no servers came to our table at all to ask us for drinks or are we ready to order. We eventually got up and proceeded to leave but before I left I made mention to the hostess that we sat at our table for at least 20 mins and no one came he then got management they apologized and gave my family three free kids meal coupons. I felt it wasn't enough to relieve our frustrations. It will be used but definitely not at that location. read more

As me and my fellow colleague entered this establishment we were seated right away. An issue we noticed right away was that service was completely slow. I feel like turtles could be our waiters and do better than these employees. I also heard other clientele complaining about how the service took forever. This isn't my first time coming here and I continue to get mediocre service and food. Shrek must've been the chef because my colleagues entree had more onions than the actual food. My food tastes terrible the fries had way to much salt. The waiters couldn't even follow a simple request we asked for no ice in our drinks and of course they mess that up. I asked for a straw I don't think it takes 3 minutes to retrieve one. The place was not even full. Honestly the only good thing about this place was the appetizer. I'll start by saying the service is always good and the staff is friendly. To that point, the food is also good albeit predictable. My children like going here and love the wonton tacos. What really drives me to write a review is the aftermath I incur every visit. Very shortly after eating the food the "bubbles" begin. I've grown used to the warning signs, but the first time was a crisis to say the least. I had went on break with friends from work, and happily ate whatever meal it was. The bubbles began and I thought I had to use the bathroom in a traditional sense. The short walk to the bathroom became more fevered and critical with every step and upon touching my cheeks to the porcelain throne I was voiding pure liquid with such force that the poor guy next to me (looking back probably also in my predicament) was forced to listen to a symphony of splashes and groans. The amount seemed unreasonable and every time I thought my hell had ended, it would begin again. After a few hour long minutes, I was pleading with any god that would listen to end my suffering and to this day I do not know which one answered. I tended to my sore bottom and tried to rejoin my fellow associates as if I hadn't just been violated. They knew. I couldn't hide the shame and probably smell. Why do I go back? That is a question only the universe can answer, but it is every time. I've grown used to the assault on my insides and can now time it to get home so when it finally takes my life I can be around my loved ones. read more

Absolutely dreadful! In the past, we had good experiences with this chain, but this particular location lacks good management, servers who care, or cooks that can prepare food adequately. We decided to grab a bite to eat on an early evening. The restaurant was not busy. We waited over forty five minutes for two burgers (for two burgers!), both that were over-cooked, and dry. One of the plates was missing fries. The waitress said she would be right back with them. Another twenty minutes passes. We overhear other diners in the dining room asking their servers for their food. Not a good sign! Our burgers were totally un-edible. They tasted as if they were cooked far ahead of time and re-heated in the microwave. We asked to see the manager who came to the table and could care less. As we were speaking with the manager, the waitress brings to the table a plate with dry cold fries. I asked both the waitress and manager to look at the fries and they acted as if nothing was wrong. They are stealing people's money in my opinion. If you want good food and good service, please take my advice, and do not go here!! read more
