Tried to eat supper there on Memorial Day which took two hours from the time we sat down until we finished. Super slow service and of the five orders not one was correct. It's been a while since I've been to this Applebee's. It was a great place. But this time, it was a bit different. It was lunch time when we arrived, so I expected the place to be crowded. Far from it! There were only 4 tables that were occupied. The host, who was very soft spoken, asked us to follow him. As we walked around the bar (which was empty), the music overhead was blaring and the host started asking us questions. I don't know what those questions were, because I could not hear the guy. After we were seated, the server came around, asked for our drink order and said she'd be right back to take our orders. She disappeared for 9 minutes. Upon her return, she apologized for the wait. She took the order and the food arrived 12 minutes later. Food was mediocre at best. After we finished eating, we proceeded to wait another 12 minutes for our server to bring our check.....or at least check up on us. Keep in mind this place is like empty. I don't like to bad mouth a place, but mediocre service+ mediocre food, does not warrant a return trip. read more

Sure it's Veterans Day, sure it's busy...but waiting for our food 45 mins, while our neighboring veteran waited over an hour, was ridiculous! I ordered a strawberry chicken salad. Chicken was cold and I couldn't wait for another because I had a child to pick up. My vet husband had to pack up his food and couldn't enjoy his lunch either. My daughter ordered a hamburger and she also had to pack it up. As a side note, we were there a couple of days ago and the same kinda service. My husband's steak wasn't cooked right and the chicken on my salad was cold then too. Probably be the last time we go there. Visited here at Applebee's on Sherman 2 weeks ago and was very disappointed with our waitress, service and food. The waitress we had never smiled one time even though we kept smiling to her and continued to say happy things. After seated we didn't see her for a long time to order than I spilled my full glass of tea and got up and told a waitress at a station and after a few minutes ended up getting towels myself and cleaned the mees up. It covered the whole table. We never saw our waitress until to bring our bill. Very disappointed. Terrible service! Terrible wait time. Waitress let us wait 24 mins before acknowledging that we were there. Our orders were wrong. Our bill was wrong and waitresses couldn't remember a thing we ordered or asked. This was a terrible experience. I've never had such a terrible experience. I recommend the Applebees in Lansing. First of all, we were waiting so long just to be GREETED by our waitress and for our drink order that two other employees asked us if we had been helped. Finally our waitress arrives takes our order and leaves. Then a four person table sits in the section next to us, with the same waitress. They get drinks and appetizers and their food way before we got our food. Even though we were there first? We didn't get any appetizers either. When the food DID arrive it was another random employee who wasn't our waitress. Threw our food on our table didn't see if we needed anything at all took off before i even got a look. i bit into my broccoli to find it cold. I thought maybe it was a fluke took a few more bites, Nope that was cold. I bit into my steak, the Parmesan shrimp steak to be exact and the cheese or sauce stuff that comes on it? Cold. EW. I didn't take another bite. I sent my food away and they asked if i wanted anything else like i didn't just wait that long for it to be that gross. I never in my life have had to send back a steak anywhere. My girlfriend and I decided to go out to eat and we picked Applebees. ohh sounds exciting right? No. I ordered a 12 oz ribeye medium well and she ordered a 8 oz sirloin medium rare. Well ours both came back and her steak was gray and wayyyyy over cooked! Mine came back and was purple...? Yes a purple steak! How tf... anyways we send them back and wait for them to comeback out hopefully cooked right. Nope, not at all! Still terribly cooked! I decided to just bring them home to my dogs.. almost didn't even want to feed them this steak. First time here in years. Had a gift card from Christmas and the all you can eat (shrimp, wings, rib-lets) looked appealing. Wait time was acceptable 20 min. Greeted by waitress immediately.Wings and shrimp were good and the fries were amazing. If I could do negative stars, I would. Shame on you Applebee's In Muskegon, shame on you. Worst experience ever. Came in on 8/11/19. Ordered a drink and they carded me. I gave them my state ID. Then for some reason, the waiter said that he could not accept my identification. Then he calls over the rudest manager of all time who basically had her mind made up already and was like "give me your ID". I hand over my ILLINOIS DRIVERS LICENSE and she didn't even look at it. As most of you know, some state DMVs are issuing paper identification cards and sending the plastic one in the following few weeks in this mail. Illinois started doing this along with other states. That paper identification along with my expired one IS MY IDENTIFICATION. I am legally allowed to use that to board planes, buy firearms, go to the bank, everything EXCEPT Applebee's. Applebee's is a secret society apparently where you need to show your social security, state issued ID, birth certificate and proof of income and promise your first born son. She was like "well you're not drinking here today so whatever you want to do is fine with me". Her rudeness alone had me embarrassed. I am a human being and expect to be treated as so. This establishment is in hospitality, I don't expect sass mouthed managers named Corrine to be rude and roll her eyes at me like she did a few times. She stated that it was "Applebee's policy" and didn't explain further what the actual policy is after we asked her what it was a few times. We promptly got up and paid for the drinks we did not drink because they wanted to be petty and charge us after they said they couldn't serve me. We would have still eaten there if she wasn't so rude. Here's a tip: learn about what legal identification is not just in your state but others too if you're going to judge on who to serve alcohol or not. But she definitely seemed to have it all together and try and play like she knew better when she clearly was uninformed and just fronting like she knew it all. I am 34 years old, I'm not going to print up an ID get sloshed at an Applebee's. If I were you, I would steer clear from this place and the chain altogether since they have Corrine stating their policy but actually cannot tell me the policy. If she's representing the Applebee's brand with her rude behavior and wrong information, then I am good. Plenty of other places who need your money. read more

The service here is horrible to say the least. The manager failed to introduce himself by name, which should the be the first rule of making your guest feel as if their problem will be resolved.
