We used to come here a lot. It was close, fast and friendly. It is still close by but the service is almost null. We have been here 45 minutes. I have a water and my husband is on his second diet. The appetizer was delivered and was finished by the time the silverware arrived. We had ordered an entree to split...burger no pink....instead red and no extra plate. Ok (sigh), so I usually only come on this app when I have a bad experience to let others know where NOT to go. Although tonight was not an an overall awful experience but our waiter (or waitress, don't really know), was quite rude. Firstly me, my baby brother, and my good good friend were all in the mood for milkshakes and this "thing" of a waiter/waitress sighed and said "oh it's fine, it's just a lot of work." Like IM SORRY BUT WHERE TF DO U GET OFF!! Secondly they were quite judgmental toward our food choices, then once our food got here we were given no utensils, so u think I'm a goddamn animal. Worst experience I've ever had. Rude staff. Order was complete wrong. I ordered an UberEats delivery from them but had to go pick it up myself which was not an issue. I show up to pick up my order the door is locked (mind you they were not closed and had multiple employees and customers inside). Their employee (blonde hair girl, fuller built) looks at me several times as i knock on the door to be let in to get my PAID for order. She acts as though she cannot see me or hear me through the glass doors. Around to fourth time she looks at me and passes by she act as though she's on her phone. I call the restaurant several times, no answer. Finally another employee (smaller pretty girl w brown hair in a braid) comes over and finally opens the door so i can get my food. The other girl continues to act like she cannot see me even when i walk in an greet her. I go to "to go" there is no one in line but the taller blonde girl working says she needs to take care of another order before helping me. I wait and a costumer points out that the order ready and paid for in the box near the desk could be mine. It is, i thank him and leave. THEN I get home and my order is completely wrong. I do not have any of the ranches that come with the meal or extra sauces i paid extra for, instead there is an abundance of marinara sauce. My burger was missing the fries i paid for. My food was sloppy and cold. An assortment of other chips were mixed into my spinach artichoke dip. Quesadilla looked pathetic (one puny piece, probably a little bigger than a quarter, then three other small pieces). Dry boneless wings, even though i ordered garlic Parmesan. No sauce. Health inspector needed ASAP!!!! Don't eat here!!!!! Where do I start. My experience at this applebees was absolutely horrific. First and foremost I ordered a steak at medium temperature only to receive a lump of charcoal. Thinking this was the worst it could get; I was wrong. Have you seen Texas chainsaw massacre? Well my medium well cheeseburger must've been a prop of the movie. It was bleeding excessively due to it being completely raw!!!! Don't believe me? Look at the photo. By the way we got very sick from this establishment. After attempts to speak to the representatives from Applebees, I haven't spoke to anyone yet. I had a really good experience. The place is very clean and the service has been solid. They make great burgers.

We were sat at a table with three kids that had very little light due to blown bulbs in the fixture. We brought this to the attention of the server, and it was never addressed. The server then never checked back for drink refills or to see if we needed a box. We had to stop her in her tracks when she brought our card back and she just wanted to rush past. The food was mediocre. The plates were warmer than the food, fo all the dishes brought. I have an infant and went to change him, and was about run into with the bathroom door twice because the changing table was directly behind the door in the men's room. Great, friendly, knowledgeable staff is the reason I always come to the Novi location over others closer to my home. So I decided to finally visit Applebee's on my lunch break. Walked in and there was no hostess. All of the waitresses kept looking over at me and just kept waiting tables. Finally after about 5 min of waiting a hostess came over and seated me. I ordered the new Thai shrimp salad. So excited to try this salad and the chili line dressing. The waitress was very nice and fast and the salad tasted great! The dressing was a little too spicy for me but I ate it. Honestly... 15 min after I got back from my lunch break my stomach started killing me!! The worst pain ever.. I received food poisoning from a salad. Completely shocked! How does one obtain food poisoning from a salad. Was the shrimp not done? The lettuce contaminated? Low and behold my friend went to a different Applebee's and got a completely different salad and received food poisoning as well. Beware!!! Applebee's had some type of contamination with there salads. Either they are cross contaminating the lettuce or the meat is not done. Either way I will never in life go back to an Applebee's and I suggest to everyone I know to never go. These chain restaurants are clearly not taking cleanliness into account. The fact that I went to this Applebee's and my friend went to a completely different one and we both got sick from a salad says something about the chain. read more

Last night, I brought the family for a quick dinner. Our hostess was very kind of finding us a good table (site was packed) so I could watch the Colombia - US baseball game. She was always smiling! Then, we ordered food. It came fast but my order was messed up. My ribs didn't arrive. The manager was kind enough to stop by our table, acknowledge how ridiculous the situation was, and then, after getting my order right, he cleared the food out the check, so we ended up eating for free. I think that the right attitude of the staff deserved 5 stars. Life happens and things can always go wrong; however, these group of people was sincere to me and did all they could to make things up. read more

My mother and I went to Applebee's in Novi. I loved Applebee's as a restaurant but after this experience I am reluctant to return. Food took awhile but that was understandable. It took 10 minutes to get a drink refill and half an hour to get our check. We politely waved at the waiter for an additional 10 minute. When he finally saw us I politely asked if we could get our check and he said "eventually". When we had received our check it was not ours, it was the couple next to us. When he switched our bills 5 minutes later I put my card down quickly so he couldn't run away. He said loudly "you don't need to be rude". I sat there looking puzzled until he brought my receipt. When he did he yelled rudley and said "have a great day *with an eye roll*. I have never had an experience like this at Applebee's and I don't think I'll be going back. read more

I had an acquaintance in my IT program that worked in their kitchen. He told me a lot of their food is frozen and quickly reheated before serving. I can't personally confirm but I also have no reason to think he's a liar. That said, sometimes the family drags me down; it feels like dealing with Applebees is an inevitable outcome in life. Their service has gotten better over the years, as it was horrendous a decade ago but reasonable modern day. The apple crisp app is a highlight of the restaurant, although very unhealthy. Their chicken fingers aren't notable. Their pasta isn't worth your money. They had a green menu, something like under 500 calories, and the pasta dish, some kind of shrimp littered with nuts in this tangy sauce, was too difficult to stomach. I'd recommend not blowing a lot of money on their pricier steaks because again, I've heard (and what I've tasted coincides) that they're freezing this meat and quickly reheating it. I've had their cheaper, smaller cuts of steak and it was alright but with Outback right down the road, why settle for that? I've cooked steak from Costco and that steak turned out better than Applebee's. According to yelp, 2 stars is "Meh. I've experienced better." and that's my sentiment with Applebee's. They *are* consistent in their delivery as far as I can tell and there is an intrinsic value to that sentiment. But you can do better for your money, or so I'd argue. They have these desert cups that are delicious but incredibly small for the money you're dropping. Dairy Queen is maybe a 4 minute drive down Wixom, take the right on Poniac, it'll be right there. You'll get far more bang for your buck there. Applebee's offers this *very* family friendly atmosphere while Outback's atmosphere is more neutral. That's the main draw for Applebee's. My family is very religious and I think that's what draws them in time and time again. Their menu is large and they miss the mark on their meals as a result. It's not awful by and large but I have experienced better. Wixom has a lot to offer you. read more
