We were looking for a place to eat outside on a beautiful evening and the menu here sounded great so we decided to give it a try. All of the staff was very friendly! We started our meal by splitting the Gouda Mac as an appetizer - it was delicious! I had the Whitefish Reuben as my main course. It was quite good, despite the piece of fish being too big for the bread. My wife also enjoyed the Apple Gorgonzola Salad. While we didn't dine inside, I took a peek when I went to the restaurant room and it looks like a great place to hang out and watch a game. The server was very nice and everyone was friendly. The place played good background music. We ordered the Maurice salad and chicken Ceasar Wrap with truffle fries. The salad was really good the Maurice dressing was very flavorful. I liked they separate the toppings so can get everything in each bite. Date of visit: 12/5 We visited Center Street Grill on a busy Friday evening. We had a 15 minute wait for two people, which was no problem. We poked around quaint downtown Northville, until I got a text that our table was ready. We had a seasoned waitress that worked efficiently in a very crowded restaurant. We had a booth across from the bar and it was very loud. But we adjusted to it, and enjoyed the lively atmosphere. We order the whitefish entree and a cheeseburger, both were okay, neither were particularly warm. Again, it was busy. But I would try different things next time. The star of the show was the appetizer she recommended - goat cheese in a warm creamy marinara sauce, served with garlic bread. Amazing! I will be back, if only for that! read more

Recently came back to Center Street. Sat outside. It's not the greatest outside seating but it's OK. The server was delightful, and even other servers came by to offer service because they wanted to make sure we were being taken care of. The goat cheese appetizer is out of this world. I meet up with friends that live around the Ann Arbor-ish area and during the school year, especially on a football saturday, we don't even try to go near Ann Arbor due to high traffic. So, we like to meet in places like Northville for lunch and hang out for a while and catch up. We chose this place because it's in a cute part of town, and near another local store that my friend wanted to show me after eating. We were the first people in the restaurant when it opened, and the downtown area was already somewhat busy for a Saturday morning. There's free parking behind the restaurant and it's a quick jaunt to the store if you cut through the building or walk around like I did. The menu has some good food and I was torn between the burger and the Mediterranean wrap. I buckled and went with the burger since some habits are hard to break. My friend got the Bavarian pretzel and it was HUGE with lots of cheese sauce for dipping. My burger was actually pretty good and prices here are spot on. Our waitress was nice and we enjoyed her, but near the end she was nowhere to be found. When my friend stepped away to the ladies room I had to flag her down to get our bills. It's not the end of the world, but it wasn't exactly busy enough for her to not stop by once or twice more to check on us. My bill was about $19.00 which seemed higher than the menu price, but still a fair deal. I think my friends bill was $13 or something close to that. Overall a good space to sit and hang out and enjoy yourself without too much disruption. I was torn between 3 and 4 stars but rounded up because it really is a cute spot that can be good for meeting with friends, a casual date or taking your parents here for a meal. Great last minute decision! Group of seven with two children were seated once they pushed two tables together. Amazing staff was very attentive and friendly. My friend took me here for dinner while visiting Michigan. This place is located in downtown Northville where they had all the streets blocked off so that people can enjoy walking around and eating outdoors. We both had the Whitefish which was very good. For drinks, I had a Cass Benton which was a watermelon and tequila drink....excellent. Our waitress was very good but made the mistake of giving us the wrong bill but she did catch it right away and voided the wrong charge. This whole area had a lot of nice restaurants that are reasonably priced. The whole area had a nice vibe to it. It also had a very good band playing at a very small park within a couple of small blocks from the restaurant. Definitely cool place to visit. read more

June '25 While waiting for our table, we grabbed a couple of beers and sat outside. Our table was outside too, which was very nice. (Inside the restaurant it was uncomfortably loud.) I ordered a salad with salmon on top. the salad was not tossed. Each corner of my plate had a different pile of vegetables, which was awkward. They gave me more salad than a normal sized adult could eat. My husband ordered shrimp tacos. Said they were just OK. Our conclusion is this is a place meant for families with kids. Came to Center Street Grille to get a quick bite to eat in front of a wine tasting event we were having a little later at Simply Wine which is just a couple doors down from this restaurant. Relative to food options, I would describe the menu as a more upscale bar menu with offerings including a nice selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pizza and a fairly diversified assortment of entree's. For our meal we ended up getting the center street burger and Salmon Thai burger both served with fries. The burgers were well made with very good taste and the fries which were served in there own little fry basket (cool unique touch) were very tasty and crunchy in their own right. As far as service, our waitress was very friendly and took great care of us with excellent follow-up throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is clean and bright offering a very casual bar setting with plenty of TV's with open sight lines to watch the big game while enjoying your meal/drink. If you are into sports like I am, this is definately something to keep in mind when considering this restaurant. Lastly, this business is centrally located in downtown Northville putting you within easy walking distance to all the business' and everything this nice downtown has to offer! Big big plus here! Considering location, quality of food and nice casual vibe of this restaurant this is definately a restaurant that you should check out. Always a good experience here. One of our favorite Northville establishments. Stopped in for lunch after a funeral. Kim was our server and she did a great job. Very friendly and attentive even though the place got very busy shortly after we arrived. The menu has something for everyone. Soups,, salads, handhelds, pizza, steak, pasta, chicken, and fish. We ordered one of our faves, the baked goat cheese, along with the chicken tortilla soup, french onion soup, and a caesar salad. The baked goat cheese is a cheese blend that sits in the middle of a tomato basil sauce in a hot iron skillet. Comes with herb garlic bread to spread it on. Very tasty. The chicken tortilla soup is one of my favorites. It is very creamy, almost like a blush broth, and has a little heat to it. The place can get a little noisy but we lucked out by getting in and out before the biggest lunch rush. Still a go to place in my book. read more

During COVID, our local government closed down two main streets in our downtown to encourage outdoor dining and support local restaurants. As a result, restaurants have invested in semi-permanent outdoor structures that expand their footprint. I hope that these local authorities will continue to support our restaurants into the future to accommodate indoor/outdoor preferences. Center Street Grille has a large outdoor space that includes a lounge area. Despite that, during a beautiful weekday in the Fall, all the outdoor tables were taken up within 10 minutes of opening up. While there was a strong preference for outdoor dining, some outdoor tables were not being seated due to staffing shortages. However, there were no staffing issues indoors, apparently. I overheard one frustrated patron suggest the restaurant seat more people outdoors and shift staff from indoors to outdoors but to no avail. His argument made sense. I was in the same boat - quoted a 25 minute wait that became a 45 minute wait. Be warned that the quoted wait-times are optimistic (to put it kindly) or be prepared to dine elsewhere. I had recently had a lovely Michigan salad elsewhere and was craving another. The Green Apple Salad fit the bill, with added chopped apples to boot. It featured dried cherries, naturally, as well as gorgonzola (I passed on that), pecans mostly pulverized to sand-like consistency, and a grilled chicken breast. I loved the addition of the apples and enjoyed the plentiful dried cherries. The cherry vinaigrette was great, as well. As was the chewy breadstick. However, I thought the chicken breast was a bit dried out and just slightly (unevenly) warm, not hot, and was disappointed that the restaurant chose to offer the pecans as sand (I don't know the proper culinary term for that) instead of in much larger pieces. My server was fine. He dropped by often enough to check in on me. read more

Here is how visit shook out: Good: - greeted and seated promptly - side sand was very good, not the usual bagged lettuce - salmon was cooked wonderfully and not over cooked like other places - pretzel bread gave the Cuban a good texture - tater tots were good as was Mac n cheese Not as good: - we did not realize this was a bar setting and it was pretty loud, not to mention we like dining without TVs all over - did not care for the slaw on salmon (thankfully I got it on the side) - brioche bun on salmon sandwich fell apart quickly from all the sauce on it Overall, we had a good experience and will come back again when we are not trying to carry on convo with friends. read more

On a cold winter night, I wasn't in the mood to cook so I went to the CSG for dinner. Recently adopting a sober lifestyle, I asked my server Sara if they had any non-caffeinated teas. "Only Lipton" was her answer - "But we have a ginger puree I could make with a little honey and hot water". I wasn't convinced but agreed. It was amazing!! And she brought another when the first was gone and my meal was about done - signaling that I didn't have to rush back out into the cold! Was very surprised with our meal given how busy this place is all the time. Nothing special here. We ordered a few plates to share and all were very basic and bland. The "beet" salad had 3 slices of canned beets!? Thought it was a mistake, asked server and they confirmed that's their take on a beet salad. Basic burger was also disappointing... dry and under seasoned. 3 stars because the server was very friendly and attentive and the French onion soup was great. We might give it another try in the spring when we can enjoy the outside bar and outdoor seating. read more

I have dined here quite a few times and very much enjoy the whole experience. I will note that since the reopening , they have both indoor and expanded outdoor dining. It looks as though all precautions are in place. The wait staff is awesome, service is great. Shout out to Isabel who provided excellent service at our last visit. I love the outdoor dining and the seating is comfortable as well. Highlights: Service, the cocktails, the dining ambience are all excellent. Food favorites: enjoy the chicken bites, the onion rings and a family member really likes the sirloin dinner. I would recommend having a couple more shrimp choices, and more house made items, such a potstickers. But, I commend the variety they offer during a very challenging time. My friend and I were scrambling to find a restaurant that didn't have an hour wait on a Friday Evening. We checked multiple restaurants in the Northville area, and they were all either fully booked or were closing soon. Thankfully, we came across Center Street Grille, a cute little bar and grill that accommodated us within 10 minutes. We started with blackberry mocktails, which were absolutely delicious and extremely savory and sweet. It was a great starter for sure. 9.5/10 I got a side of the "famous" shoelace fries, while my friend got sweet potato tots. And let me just say, we were finished with these sides within a few minutes. 9/10 My friend ordered the BBQ Cast Iron Mac and Cheese, while I went to the classic version with Panko on top. It smelled phenomenal and so fresh, and the cheese was to die for. Keeping it in the cast iron was a nice touch, and definitely kept it heated as we digged in. This was one of those rare times that I didn't get sick of the meal as I was enjoying it. Every bite was so delicious and appetizing. 8.5/10 It was definitely very loud inside, and the restaurant was fully booked as we were seated. However, our waitress was extremely kind and checked on us often to make sure we were satisfied. It made our visit that much better. Getting the check at the end was a bit time-consuming, but I don't blame them. It's a Friday night! Overall, very pleasant visit, and we enjoyed ourselves so much, that we walked out bloated! A very solid 4 stars. I'd even say 4.5 stars if yelp allowed it. The atmosphere was very enjoyable. TVs lines the bar and a nice open feel. The service was friendly and well paced. The menu was extensive. It was hard to make a decision. My husband got a salmon sandwich and subbed broccoli for fries. I got the ahi salad. He really liked the flavors of his. I loved the presentation of my salad and it tasted fresh and yummy. The ahi was seared on the outside and raw for the rest, just like I like it. Opens at 3 pm on weekdays, and has a great outdoor seating area with heaters and socially distant tables. Wait staff all wore masks and were conscientious of making sure everything was clean. Their menus are online so you didn't have to touch anything there. The food was great. I had the fish Reuben and it was so good. Went here with a couple friends - server was exceptional, wish I remembered her name! They have a fun drink menu with some Halloween cocktails. HIGHLY recommend the baked goat cheese appetizer. They have a pretty big menu with a lot of options that looked great. I ended up getting the baked white fish with sweet potato fries. My friends got the Thai salmon sandwich and the whitefish tacos. We wanted to split the beet salad and they were nice enough to split it up for us- but it wasn't my fav even though I usually love salads with those ingredients. It had big chunks of raw Brussels sprouts. Everything else was good but not necessarily a place I'm dying to go back to. It's like elevated bar food! Very casual. read more

Wow this place was great! The blackberry margarita was absolutely delicious, one of my favorite cocktails to get from a restaurant! Didn't include a photo of the steak tips but they were perfectly tender with a yummy dipping sauce. My burger and side salad were great as well, and my parents really enjoyed what they ordered. Was very busy on a Friday night at 5:30, so I would make a reservation if you can! It's a little on the smaller side, but lots of seating options and staff was good.
