Rant Commence; Carside To Go is a Joke! Or maybe it's the punchline to a bad joke. I don't know, but while not feeling like going in for food I decided to take advantage of this new Carside To Go. Instead of going to sonic or BK I really wanted to try that new Black & Blue burger! So I made the call and was told it'd be ready in 18 minutes. When I arrived 15 minutes later and pulled into the Carside To Go stall and had these images in my head of someone running out to greet me just like at les schwab. Red Hot and Runnin'. Why did I have these images you ask? Because that's what the website says happens! What actually happened you ask? I sat in my car for 15 more minutes listening to NPR. Then I drove over to sonic and got a great, fast burger. Too bad so sad for the girl that rudely took my order, I'm a great tipper. To bad so sad for me cuz I really wanted that burger! Lol, but seriously Applebee's get it together! Ever since you opened I've had dubious experiences their. But I always have fun at every other location I've ever been to. How does that happen? Don't worry, lol, I'm sure I will eat there again. This is a town of Foody Lemmings, so it's hard to avoid meeting friends here for beers from time to time. BUT I WILL NEVER USE THE "Carside To Go" SERVICE AGAIN! And my suggestion would to avoid using it, at all costs. I've read reviews for other Applebees and it looks like a weak point at every location! Shame on you Oroville Applebee's! Rant Complete! lol read more

It's just like another Apple Bees but I feel like they give you more food here. I always get the 2 for $25 because those are the best deals if you don't do the 2 for $20 or 2 for $25 you're just wasting too much money. read more

We went there a long time ago and had the worst experience EVER. No eating utensils given and when I asked an employee for some, they just said "well they are not over here". Manager avoided us and when I tried to contact home office, they appeared to not care at all. Terrible place which is too bad because I kind of liked some of the entrees. read more

Came here to enjoy a nice evening with my lovely boyfriend. He lost his ID and wanted to get a drink he asked the waiter and my boyfriend clearly looks of age. The waiter asked him "are you serious"? In a complete ass hole voice and then brought me out the wrong drink and looked and said if I see him sip on it I have to take the drink. My opinion of Applebees' food is that it is pretty tasty. I've eaten inside on several occasions and the service was good, and the food, in most cases, was good. Carside, however, is a different matter. One time when I got a milkshake through Carside, I got home and when I rinsed out the glass there was a penny in it. The manager swore up and down that none of her people would do that, but if someone didn't put it in my cup, how did it get there? Are they keeping the cups next to the cash register or something? This time when I used Carside, I had to wait 25 minutes past the time given for pickup for someone to show up at my car. That was annoying. When I got home and discovered that they had not given me the milkshake that I ordered, but they had certainly remembered to charge me for it, I was even more annoyed. I thought about calling the restaurant (again), but what could they do? Give me the milkshake I ordered or refund my money, but I wasn't going to drop everything to drive across town for $3.99. At this point, I'm really fed up with Applebees. If you want food that has not been tampered with, comes on time, or a completed order containing everything you ordered, eat elsewhere. read more

Ordered car side to go and got 2 entrees. Arrived at the time it was supposed to be ready however no one came out with my food for about 15 minutes. Finally called and someone brought out my food. However they also forgot my drink I had ordered. read more

Dirty plates dirty silverware had to ask 6 times for a fork over the course of 30 minutes. Came in a separate time waiting half an hour to have drink order taken we were one of 4 customers there (not busy at all) we waited an hour and nobody came to take our order. A few times I've come in and it's decent service but everything is dirty even some cups and the tables. read more

We come to applebees once a week. We have 2 favorite servers. Jamie & Emily. They always make us feel welcome & are very efficient. Both are very friendly. Emily doesn't even write down the orders & has not made a mistake yet! I don't know how she does it! Jamie can do so many things at once. She brings drinks out for a couple tables at a time & can remember which drinks are which. They are amazing! We ask to sit in their sections & are bummed out if they aren't working. Not that the other servers are bad, it's just these 2 ladies are our favorites! read more

There is no reason for the servers to provide good customer service. People do not change behavior until given a reason to change. There are no consequences at Applebees, so there is no reason to change their level of customer service. They are paid minimum wage now so tips are not as important. Laziness trumps more money. read more

Without a doubt , this Applebees has the best staff I've ever witnessed at any restaurant, the best and most consistent tasting food.We travel all over the country doing emergency work for fema and out of everywhere we have been , apple bees in Oroville will forever be remembered as the best so far. If every Applebee's was as committed as the one in Oroville California, there would be no need for competition restaurants .our two months spent here away from family and home was was eased daily by friendly mgrs and staff ,making our distance from home not so far away. I stopped coming to this restraunt a few years ago due to the terrible service and food. My boyfriend and I decided to try it the other night, and I am beyond disappointed. The service hasn't improved since I was last there. The place wasn't THAT busy, yet it took 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. The waitstaff was extremely rude, and after waiting so long for a drink order in the 100 degree weather, I was fed up. We walked out and I can say I will never return to the Oroville location again. Overall great experience!!! I pre-ordered 2 catering sized side dishes to-go and was very pleased with the order. I called in to place the order on Wednesday to be picked up that Friday morning. I was treated very well over the phone by Justine. She worked with my budget and was able to accommodate my needs. My Sister picked up the order for me that Friday and was treated with great customer service as well by the hostess and manager. The food was on time and delicious. The fare is typical Applebees but everything was served fresh and hot. Had the fish and chips, the batter was crisp and the fish perfectly cooked. The waitstaff was friendly and efficient. Happy hour is great value with half price appetizers. read more

I was told by many many people do not go to Applebee's in Oroville, now I know why. From Sacramento went to Oroville Saturday for opening day for my niece's tee ball. Our day started bright and early at 3am. Was at the ball park all day. By the afternoon my husband, mother in law, and I were starving and beat. I decided on Applebee's for our late lunch. I ordered a salad, husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger, and mother in law ordered dessert. We sat there for over half hour and I had to chase down my waitress with cup in hand to ask for more water. She finally came by five minutes later to refill our two ice teas. Forty five minutes later I finally get my salad. I was asked what else are you missing, I replied with everything. By this time I had started to get a little impatient because I noticed people who sat down and ordered way after us had already got their food. Now I could understand if the restaurant was slammed or even some what busy. There was more tables opened then full, and by no means did we order something that took along time to make. Our waitress came back to tell my husband that his bacon cheeseburger was giving away to the wrong person and asked my husband if he would like his Blazin' Texan that had been sitting there. Now this Blazin' Texan has onions, shredded BBQ brisket, jalapeños, and cheddar cheese. Hmmmm, so the young man who ordered that was fine with my husbands plain bacon cheeseburger and never said anything?! I did not even touch my salad it was disgusting. The ONLY thing that was right was my mother in laws dessert. We were comped our whole bill and received two free vouchers for free dinner next time. Well we handed them to an older couple as we walked out. I will NEVER go back to another Applebee's. Which here is a tip Applebee's get you're shit together. read more

Unfortunately I have worked there, but all that aside I recently decided to go there for dinner with my wife. As a customer I found the wait for the food was too long considering they were slow at the time. I would suggest that the kitchen step it up. Food was decent but not that great considering the wait. Also it took almost ten minutes to get our drinks before our order. I hope they will do better in the future. read more

There were so many flies in this applebees in Oroville all over the tables all over the windows all over the customers!So many that the people dinning next to us were killing flies with their menus!! We arrived at this restaurant on a Saturday at about 1:40pm. The place was about 2/3 full the host told us upon entering that there is a wait, said they were swamped. And if we didn't want to wait we can go somewhere else. We asked him if we could sit at one of the 3 tall tables near the bar. He said no.called the so called manager. He said that the host is the boss. The hosts name is Chris. Asked again if we could sit and wait, he said no.I told him this is not how to treat customers. And I told his he was a a--hole, and we left. When we left 5 other people left also. I went back on Monday to talk to the manager. There was a manager who was filling in, I left her my phone number. The next day the manager called me. I told him what had happened. He said he would take steps to see that this taken care of.I will never go back again. We usually buy gift cards for Christmas gifts. First I would fire everyone working there. If that didn't work I would close the place. We had the worst service ever than any restaurant we've been too. The Hostess had to get our drinks because the bartender quit ( I would have too before they fired me with every body else). The Hostess had to come back to ask us what kind of drinks we ordered. I would honestly give this Applebee's location 0 stars if it was possible. A year ago we ate here after a day out on the boat. The service was horrible took over an hour to get our meals which were wings and chicken strips. Then we had to send it back because it wasn't even cooked thoroughly. It's been a year. We were meeting up for dinner and drinks with some friends. Ordered water and our alcoholic beverages. Took 20 min to get the drinks. Water never came. Ordered appetizers instead of meals. Watched two other groups of four come in after we had ordered and get their meals before we ever saw our apps. Hour and 20 minutes after we had been sat we finally had food (and finally got the water we asked for when we had first been seated). The only problem now was they only got half the order right so we had to ask another waitress to fix it since our waitress couldn't be found. Overall it was just a horrible experience. I understand that everyone has bad days but I've been to this Applebee's 7-8 times and every single time it's the same. read more

I went to the Applebee's in Chico during the NBA finals. I ordered a ribeye steak and a Caesar salad. I took about 20 minutes before they took our order. After about another 20 minutes, she brought the other order out and looked at me and said you didn't get your Caesar salad yet? She brought out my salad with the ribeye. I am not exaggerating, the ribeye was small and was at least a quarter fat and it was barely browned on the outside and raw on the inside. When I complained to the waitress, the manager came over said that was the only ribeye they had. I told him I used to work in restaurants, and that piece should have never been served. I had dinner there tonight with a friend & am not sure why they've gotten such bad reviews. I was greeted promptly when entering, all staff members were friendly & courteous. I ordered a beer, & the waitress was quick to tell me about the happy hour special, thus affording me a lower price for a larger portion, which was nice. I had an Oriental Chicken Salad, which was as delicious as always. My friend had beef with onions & potatoes & stock gravy, that she really enjoyed. Hit and miss. The staff is also hit and miss. I've been here about total of 4 times and 2 times were good food and wait staff was on top of their job filled drinks when we needed some and did not need to say waiter/waitress they knew already... the other 2 times food was mediocre and thats alright for a chain restaurant but the soup was cold they did not honor the lunch special even though it was on the menu and i showed it to them finally had to get manager to look and read the menu then treated me badly for it. If you have something on your menu honor it or remove it from the menu. So watch your BILL! The other time I went to this location there was very few people in there eating and my wife and I did not get much food but the waitress was no where to be found for a refill of a drink then the food came it was cold I sent it back and then they took another half hour to give my food back once I got it back they forgot the rolls that were supposed to be a part of the meal told them took another 10 mins to get it. Then they tried to overcharge my bill again like i said watch your BILL. it is not a fun experience and I've been to many applebees and this has got to be the worst most inconsistent one. I am not sure if I am willing to give them a fifth try at it since they are inconsistent until they go through new management and work out the kinks if this was a new restaurant and not a chain I would cut them some slack but they need to really treat their customers well, serve hot food and tell the wait staff to be nice to the customers the whole time not just when they want their tip. You as a wait staff need to make sure the customers food is okay if they need condiments and once in awhile check if they need a refill on their drinks. Had a larger party 10-15 people and got there at 8pm. Didn't leave until 11p because of service. We even have them a 24hr heads up to see if we needed a reservation also so they weren't blindsided. The restraunt was pretty empty, so that shouldn't have been a reason for the piss poor service. Drinks were filled once in awhile and water seemed to take the longest. Food was cold, flavorless, and multiple orders were incorrect. Everything was so bad that I ended up paying the ticket and went and bought 2 McChicken sandwiches from McDonald's. read more

I LOVE Applebee's, I honestly choose this over a 5 star restaurant! I noticed that the restaurant in Oroville serves more food in portion, than the Yuba City and Chico restaurants that I've been to. And it's understandable that the location is super busy or about the waiters being grouchy or rude but honestly you have to take it with a grain of salt, everybody has bad days, some days are more hectic than others and I completely understand luckily I've never encountered that problem, people just need to chill. Have been to this Applebee's a few times, and every time we receive good service and great food! The waitress even offered to specially make a strawberry lemonade for me when it wasn't on the menu. I love the new little tablets that allow you to order right from your table electronically! My fave is the 9oz serloin steak. read more
