Applebee's at one time was the place to go for a quick bite especially with the kids, or a place to go chat with a friend and have a beer. This particular Applebee's is not good! Female Veteran's Beware!!! I've been dining at Applebee's for over 5 years on Veteran's Day. It has always been a pleasureable experience. This year was very different. It was awful. The difference between this year and previous years is that there were no men at my table. I went with my daughter who is not a veteran, but I am. The ladies that seated us and took our order were wonderful. It rapidly went downhill from there. All around us male veterans were being treated with decency and respect. Us on the other hand were left alone for over 20 minutes before anyone came to check on us. When they finally did it was over 10 minutes before they returned. This was not happening to the male veterans seated around us. The wait staff was polite and attentive to them. When our bill finally arrived and we again waited 10 minutes before I gathered up my bill and card and headed out to leave only to be told to go back to my table. My server would take my card. It was 10 minutes before she stopped by my table again. She was stopping at other tables regularly. And it was another 10 minutes before she brought my receipt. It was a packed house. My table was needed. Many people older than myself were waiting for a table, yet my server refused to acknowledge me. For the first time in my life I left no tip. I also did not not get the complimentary $5.00 come back card because those were for "real veterans". I have never been so humiliated in my life. Come on Applebee's you don't have to be male to be a Veteran. I served before most of your employees were born! It will be a long time if I ever go to an Applebee's again. Of all the restaurants that I could have chosen to visit, I chose Applebee's in Oroville, because I have never had a problem with anything at any of their locations. I was in the area so I decided to stop in and have dinner. I should have just hit the Mc Donald's down the street as I would have had a much better meal and saved a few bucks. Ordered the 9 oz sirloin with mash potatoes and greens. The 9 oz. looked like a 4 oz, ordered it medium rare yet was like rubber. The mash was nasty, I have had better from freeze dried mashed potatoes than what I was served. Greens tasted as if they had been reheated. Could have been leftover from the previous day. The wait staff was inattentive, had to ask for a refill, waited for 5 minutes before my order was even taken. The only good thing I had there was the 1 beer I ordered. This place is a joke..... Ill bet the chef and its wait staff go out back and smoke up some meth on breaks. To top it all off, there was a belligerent freshly turned 21 year old that was drunk off her a$$, yet they kept serving her. She was bothering some of the customers yet staff did nothing. Don't bother to waste your time. Unless you can sit at the bar; the service will be slim. Multiple times I have visited this restaurant and the experience seems to be constantly crappy. The only good experience has been during lunch at the bar. As you can see by the added photos, I sent my dinner back. I did not recieve a new plate, as I expect the food to be correct the 1st time ordered. We never spoke with or saw a manager during our visit. Also, the purchase price is more then advertised in the menu (see photos). I am outraged that this establishment isn't better , seeing how there isn't many good restaurants to chose from in Oroville. I come here often for the 2 entrees for $20, and sports games Sunday night for their 5$ bucket of beers (which includes 5 beers). Its a nice place to come and chill or have a get together. So 3 stars for that :) Its conveniently located off the hwy. When I first started coming here I always had a great server. Attentive and clean, lately service has been getting worse and worse. The female waitresses are somewhat rude, and seemed like they didn't want to help. Another thing I don't like is this Applebees doesn't offer some of the same specials that they do at most other Applebees, such as the half off appetizer and entree deal. read more

It's Applebee's, you know what you are getting when you go. Same food everywhere. My biggest problem with their food is the amount of salt they use. If they toned it down the food would be great. I think my favorite thing on the menu is the oriental chicken salad. If I don't order that I usually order a steak. The veggies come super salty though, be careful. read more

I like this place. Just recently I started dining in here more often this year. There's this waitress there that's really nice. I like it especially when she takes our order she doesn't need any pen or paper to take anything down. She does it all by memories! That's pretty awesome haha anyways love the food. The have some of the best ribeye steak in town. The only bad experience I've had with them was when they gave us our water the cups look like they were poorly cleaned. You can see some white stains at the rim. Hopefully I don't come across something like that again. read more

If I could get a negative stars I would. I ordered it for curbside to go because I forgot my wallet today and I could use my credit card to pay online. First of all there's a sign saying that their food is known to cause birth defects which sounds like it's not good for human consumption period. Once I got my food my fries were completely cold and stale and tasted like they've been there since yesterday. My chicken burger has a piece of completely white lettuce in it with just the vein and my chicken is chewy and has the grossest texture and is not cooked all the way and tasted awful. I don't think they use quality control with their ingredients it looks like their past their expiration date and are disgusting. Would never eat here again, ever! read more

I have been at this location twice. The lettuce in the salad had brown, slimy areas, the hamburger was grey and my daughter's breaded chicken was burned. The service was slow and there was less than 10 customers include me, my daughter and grandchild. When I called the waitress over to show her the issue with the food she said "Looks fine to me." then went back to flirting with one of the male employees. The best part about this experience was that we got our drinks. My husband and I arrived at 6:15, were seated around 6:35. Once we ordered, our orders apparently "disappeared". Our server came back to re-take our orders, told us that there was something wrong with the computer system, and our food was delayed. I'm a regular here. I love the cheerful atmosphere this place has to offer. The chicken nuggets/fries I get always come out hot, sometimes I get a garden salad; it's great as well. My son loves the kids meal cheese burger when I order it for him. The staff is accommodating to my needs when I'm there, also, it's always a great temperature inside! I am really getting tired of the businesses in this town that keep getting cheaper and cheaper and charging more for less. Especially the large chains. We have been going here occasionally since they opened for an after work dinner and drink or to take clients when visiting. The cocktail quality has declined on every visit. This last visit was the last straw. Wanted to take an employee out for their birthday dinner. My wife and I got their ahead of time and ordered a Martini. The drink came out and the glass was barely half full. My wife asked the Waitress what is this. There is nothing in the glass. Martini's have always been filled to the brim. The waitress said that that is the way they make them now. Unbelievable! We asked for the check and phoned our party and told them to meet us at a local non-chain place instead. I think it was like $9.00 for barely a shot of alcohol. I could of bought a whole bottle for what we paid for 2 Martini's. Cancelled our dinner order, paid the tab and advised the waitress that we were taking our party elsewhere and would not be back to patronize this greedy corporate chain again. News Flash to Apple Bees. You want to save like maybe 50 cents by stiffing us on a drink. Now your entire chain has lost my business for life. read more
