I've never went to this Applebees before and I already have a bad impression. Me and my boyfriend sat in the waiting area for at least 10mins before anyone came and spoke to us and when she did she sat us at a dirty table, saw there was food on the table and never came back to clean it up. Not only that, when we were seated we noticed that there was only one waiter and she was Great! She was nice; did her job, made us feel comfortable. The only thing is she was doing this all by herself running back and forth when there was two girls just sitting and talking by the waiting area. Like what you read with other reviews, this location needs to improve their service and food. Dined for two. Asked for a table by the window. 4 of the servers made us wait for awhile. They decided to where we should sit. The fact there's available tables near us, but we were seated all the way to the back. Wasn't happy about it. Ordered the 1 appetizer, 2 entree for $25 Boneless wings, half rack pork ribs with onion rings and coleslaw, and bourbon street chicken and shrimp. It's a good deal. Small portions though. The taste was bearable to keep the stomach full, but I was not palatably satisfied. You may need to season the ribs with salt, while the shrimp had some dressing drizzled on top that tasted bitter for me. Be careful when you change the sides, because it may cost extra. My husband asked if it's ok to have onion rings instead of fries for the ribs. The server said it's ok, and made us believe there was no charge. When we checked out, we got billed extra $1.99 for that. What's unique about Applebee's is the touch screen gadget they placed per table. It's a mini tablet where you can order your meals, request drink refill, and pay by swiping your credit card. I wish I could give them NO stars. This by far is the most terrible location EVER. We put our order in online for curbside pick up. The order was supposed to be ready at 7:50pm. When my boyfriend got there to pick it up, he had to wait until 8:20pm to get it. Not only was the food NOT ready in time, but the order was incomplete and incorrect! We ordered quesadillas and the 2/$20 meal, which was mozzarella sticks, a 1/2 rack of bbq ribs with Texas bbq sauce, loaded garlic mashed potatoes and garlicky green beans. The 2nd half of the 2/$20 meal was the 6oz sirloin with grilled onions, garlic mashed potatoes and also garlicky green beans. The bbq ribs did not have texas bbq sauce on it, it was some kind of spicy Asian sauce. The garlicky green beans were regular steamed green beans with absolutely NO garlic or seasonings. The last and final straw was that we did not even receive the steak at all!!!! So I got grilled onions with absolutely NO steak to put it on. When I tell you I'm absolutely pissed...I AM PISSED!!! I just had the worst steak that I have eaten in years. I asked for medium well, and verbally confirmed with the bartender how in should look when it came out. I got a well done steak. Got there at 3pm and was told there was going to be a 15 min wait. We sat at our table for 45 mins before we eventually asked the server if we could order. Her name was Tamiyra. She took our order without writing anything down. Simple order 2 steaks, chips and salsa, onion rings and ribs and a house salad with blue cheese dressing. We also asked for waters. 10 mins until we got our water. 30 mins until our food came out all at once. The salsa already had pieces of chip in it and the onion rings we cold. Both steaks cooked wrong and no salad ever appeared. It got taken of the bill, no apology. I have NO IDEA why everything was so slow since the place was basically empty and there were workers at the front door at all times talking about why "he did..." and "what she said..." very loudly. Applebees is not a place where you find fine cuisine; I think everyone knows what you are basically going to get. Okay-tasting food in a bright, cheerful place, and fast service. However at this location do not have even those basic expectations. We should have known it was going to be horrible when we stood at the door without a greeting for 10 minutes, but here is a quick breakdown: 1. We sat down for about 20 minutes, no waiter, no water brought to the table. 2. They finally brought drinks for our table of seven, got three of them wrong. Wasn't fixed for about 20 minutes. 3. Our plates came out two at a time, about 6 minutes between sets of plates. 4. The sides were cold and the meat was dry. Seemed like it spent some time under the heat lamp. 5. The grilled chicken and shrimp meal was good and hot. However, it came last and everyone else was done eating. 6. After drinking my Pepsi, I found a piece of something sitting on the ice. I asked one if the servers what was going on, she said "There's a lot going on back there." When I pressed her she said "It's the Door Dash., we're trying to keep up." Apparently, she explained, there is some pressure to make those customers happy and get their food fast. Not so much for the customers actually in the restaurant. My experience was unpleasant because 1) the service was extremely slow and bad, 2) my food tasted bad, 3) my food was cold. First, the service was paiiinfullyyy slow and bad! We must have waited 10 minutes to order, then 30 minutes for our food to come out. Also, our server Deshawn did not seem to know about the Yelp check-in offer and thought we had to be sitting AT the bar to get the free bar snack. Not true, we insisted so he checked and we were right. There seemed to be A LOT of servers compared to customers, yet our server always seemed to be somewhere else. And if you're going to advertise and run specials for checking in on social media, the servers need to be knowledgeable about them, not seem like it's the first time they heard of them. Second, my food tasted like I tried to cook and failed. I had the healthy under 600 calorie Steakhouse Bruschetta Sirloin with a side of roasted potatoes. Potatoes tasted like nothing, and the steak was tough and not seasoned well. And my dish looked nothing like their photo. Same for the BF's Mac and cheese entree...it was tiny and cold. Third, my food was COLD. Deshawn passed by our table several times as we looked at him, expecting him to tell us why our food was so delayed. He said our food would be out "shortly." Great service from David. My mom askd a million questions. Food was good. I got a burger and mom got the lunch shrimp pasta deal. Burger and fries were both tasty. I added Onion strings to a regular burger. Only complaint was both the burger and fries were lukewarm. Tasted some of her Caesar salad. Solid. Pasta dish looked unappealing. I may make this an occassional spot for drinks and catch some of the game since there are tvs all around. Menu leaves much to be desired like many of these chains. Great happy hour specials on food and drinks. Very fair drink prices. Perfect sangria margarita was a star. Will be back for that. My daughter is an employee there that has been laid off due to the pandemic and during this difficult time they have been supportive of their employees and others! I'm only giving a three star rating because I went here for lunch and it was one of the longest lunch breaks ever. Now the server we had was great, he was very polite, attentive and helpful. The food was just ok, my co-worker ordered baked potato soup and it was watery!! She ended up sending it back and getting chicken tortilla soup which it what I had and it was good. I also had a turkey club sandwich which was average. The manager did stop by our table and I was able to express my concerns and she was happy to hear what they had did wrong and she stated that she would correct that immediately. Then when told to go and wait by the bar to ores Togo we waited 35 minutes. The waiter ignored us several times when we asked him if we could order. I've been sitting here for over an hour. It took 30 minutes before someone came to take our drink orders, and we weren't brought any waters. When the waitress came back to take our orders, she didn't write anything down, so it wasn't surprising when she brought the appetizers back wrong. It is now 7:53pm, and I've been here since 6:30pm. Appetizers were just brought out and of course I'm still waiting because I was given spinach dip instead of buffalo wings. The drinks are watered down and my husbands beer tastes flat. I can only imagine what's going to happen when our food comes out. It's not busy, too many workers hanging with they buddies. Update: it's 8:08, I can't even find my waitress/bartender to ask them to just box my food. I didn't imagine I'd be sitting here for almost 2 hours. Boom! It's 8:20, and our food just came out. I've been to this chain restaurant multiple times in the past few years. And by "multiple" I mean like five times in total. Each time was bad and more worse than the previous visit. This is probably my final time giving a chance to this specific restaurant. Let me tell you about my other experiences before this one: Each and EVERY TIME the servers have been slow. You practically have to beg them for attention. No matter if they have one table or fifty tables, you definitely won't be getting water until at least 20 minutes of sitting there twiddling your thumbs. By that time, I make sure I tell my friends to get ready to order what they wanna eat since we probably won't be seeing the waiter or waitress again for another 20 minutes. There was one time where I came with a group of friends. It was a triple date so there was six of us in total. The waitress gave us water and inside the cup it had the pieces of paper from the straw pretty much compounded in there as if they don't wash the cups after every use. DISGUSTING is all I gotta say to that. And it wasn't just one or two of our cups, it was every single one. This specific time, we came in for their Steak and Potatoes deal that's been advertised with every YouTube ad out there. Boyfriend was hungry so I decided to treat him. We haven't went to this place for MONTHS due to the bad service every time, but decided to go here since this was the closest Applebee's location. When I got there, I checked in -- FREE APPETIZER with a purchase of a beverage! Nice! The waitress finally comes around and I let her know about the deal as well as us already being ready to order our steak and potatoes meal. The appetizer is eventually brought out and when it is brought out, the waitress lets us know that they've ran out of steaks. What? -- Erm, that's quite disheartening especially knowing that they have that special. But we didn't make a big deal out of it and decided to look at the menu again. Once we finished our appetizer, we decided to just go to another Applebee's for the steak and potato special (what can I say? We were craving it) and made sure we called the next closest Applebee's to us, to make sure they had steaks. We let the waitress know that we weren't interested in anything else and would like the bill. I waited for her to come back with it and she came back to tell us that they didn't have any more 8oz steaks, but had 6oz steaks. What (again)? I really just wanted to say, "why didn't you tell us that in the first place?" But refrained since I didn't want to come off as rude. At that point, my boyfriend and I decided to stay and deal with it. We ordered medium rare and our steaks came out well done. *Sigh* It's like they can't do anything right here. Another thing to add is that EVERY time, no matter what the circumstance was -- whether there was paper in my water cup or the waitress lying to us recently and telling us there were no more steaks -- we never got compensated. I mean, even offering a free dessert would have changed my mind about the customer service here a little bit. All in all, try it out for yourself but I can GAURANTEE you the service is below average.
