I ordered through Uber Eats and my food came in a reasonable time. I ordered the Classic Chicken and Broccoli alfredo and asked for extra broccoli. The chicken was cooked nicely and my broccoli was tender (love that). Sadly the overall flavor was low. I had to season it up a lot so that was a bummer. I also wish I had asked for more sauce. With the noddles there just wasn't enough. My last pain point was that my breadstick was hard. Like almost crouton hard. I cannot speak to the ambiance as this was delivery. First and foremost- a huge shout out to Applebee's for their incredible Veterans Day Celebration! The servers were dressed to recognize veterans and there was a greeter at the door to say hello. Every veteran received a complementary entree. Well done Applebee's. As for the food - it was just alright leading to the 3 star rating. The service was good and we didn't have to ask for anything. The steak was undercooked and the broccoli was alright. The burger wasn't anything special for the price. The server did a good job but I doubt we return for the food. The meal I never had! I've been to Applebee's in Gaffney SC several times before tonight and usually it's great. Not very many restaurants understand the difference between a steak cooked well done (which is a fully cooked steak with no red/pink meat) and a burnt steak (a steak with charcoal on it). Until tonight, Applebee's did. I'd get a well-prepared delicious steak cooked to perfection, well done. However, tonight I met some friends there for dinner, I've never seen a restaurant fail so completely. I never got dinner only a salad, I sent my steak back 4 times because it was still red, the fifth time I sent it back it came back unsurprisingly burnt. The waitress who brought it back to me the fifth time was shocked to hear me say "this is burnt" even though she carried it to my table, and it was covered in charcoal. She did not apologize for the bad food, not once, she just got more and more attitude and more and more sullen. Another woman, I think the manager, apologized for the bad food but tried to blame it on the lighting, in the kitchen or the dining room not sure which supposedly had bad lighting. Meat that is undercooked is red and gross no matter what kind of lighting it's in. After the burnt steak was sent back the woman/manager asked if I wanted something else which I turned down. I was nauseous from the undercooked steak and my friends that I was having dinner with were already finished with their meals, this mess took a long time. I did ask for a soda that I never got. She tried to blame the burnt steak on the grill temperature that is set by the company in response me saying "I don't understand why she (meaning our sorry waitress) didn't know it was burnt." Nobody should have to send food back more than once. Recooking meat five times is bound to result in burnt meat. Cooking a steak well done but not burnt isn't easy but it can be done. Any decent cook should know better than send food out that sent was back because it was undercooked without checking it first. Any waitress should be able to see charcoal all over a steak, who would want to eat charcoal. Isn't it a waitress' job to stop bad food from coming to the customer? I think Applebee's needs a new cook and a new waitress! read more

Waitress was preoccupied with other things. Eating utensils still had food residue on them and they were stuck to the napkins when you opened them up. No extra napkins brought to us, even with a 2 year old child at the table. We were there at around 2 in the afternoon and the crowd at the bar was so loud. Will not go back there to eat. read more

Let me start by saying that I am an ex-smoker. Didn't realize they still allowed smoking in restaurants. We're starving so I'm putting up with it this once, but please hurry, it's not pleasant. Started with a Yuengling . Kind of on the warm side. We're ordering the two for $25, two side salads, one half rack ribs with fries and one Bourbon Chicken and Shrimp. The salads are nice, fresh crisp lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, croutons, cheese . Good flavor. Meals are ok, on the small side. I guess you get what you pay for. Because of the cigarette smoke causing our sinuses to act up, we won't be back to this location. read more

I was a bit hesitant with going to an actual sit down restaurant with COVID being so bad. But let me point out they had EVERYONE sitting the proper distance away while also providing the most excellent and patient service possible. My husband and I decided to go to Applebee's for a Valentine's day meal.The staff was gracious and hospitable.Upon placing our order it was brought out quickly and the food was delicious. The only negatives is that my silverware which was wrapped in a paper napkin was dirty and no amount of wiping cleaned them.I asked my wait staff for clean ones and she gave me plastic,which she asked if I was ok with that prior to giving it to me. The other issue was that it took so long to get some ones attention to get our check. In any event, a descent place to get a good tasty meal at a low price. read more

This is the only restaurant where I've ever witnessed a manager yell back at a customer (when he was clearly in the wrong). A family had been waiting to get seated for 10+ mins standing at the door, I noticed just from sitting at my table. Multiple people walked past and ignored them even though it wasn't busy. When the manager came from the back and finally noticed the wife started fussing about the lack of service and he immediately, word-for-word clapped back "Well I just got here so that's not my fault, you want a table or not?" Two stars because the server was sweet and my beer was cold. If you're hungry and in the mood for bland food I reckon you have one of three choices. 1. You can go across the street to McDonald's 2. This place is horrible! Don't have steaks on the menu if you can't cook them. I asked for a medium rare steak and got a well done steak. I asked for another one and got a rare steak. I keep trying to give this restaurant a chance to redeem itself but doesn't seem to do so. My mother in law ordered the smaller portion chicken strip plate. The chicken batter was overly crunchy (over cooked/hard), and she couldn't eat it. The manager offered to upgrade her to a grilled chicken breast plate, for a $2 upgrade. This was very unsatisfactory, especially since it was their fault. Let's discuss the pros and cons of eating out in Spartanburg, and which way you put a bizarre Applebee's on the sleepy side of town. Pros: + The portions at this Applebee's seem pretty darn massive for the price. The quesadilla that was about $9, seems to have two layers of itself, both of which are loaded with tons of cheese. Cons: - Why are there still ash trays with used cigarettes on the bar? Smoking is banned in this county. - The chicken in the quesadillas isn't very good despite all the cheese. - What's with the service here. Most of the waiters and waitresses seem like you're interrupting their time together. - Why is it so hard to get seated here? Shouldn't the hostess be around? - The layout of this place is kind of bizarre, the booths are really open to the bar. Overall, there's not a lot worth eating in the area, but this is still worth avoiding in this area. More options seem to be opening down the street, like a Buffalo Wild Wings. If it's between this and FATZ though, it might be a tough call. read more

I am not surprised they are only rated 2 stars. We went to this Applebees, and there was a 10-15 min wait according to the hostess. We gave her our make, which she only wrote down the first letter. Then proceeded to sit 3 parties that came in after us. All of them were sat in booths that could accommodate our party of 3. After she asked for our make again, she walked in to sit the 3rd party that came in after us...I asked for the manger. The manger came up, I explained that the hostess preceded to sit 3 parties that came in after us and I'd like to know why. He turned to the hostess and the first thing she said was 'I am assuring for a place to sit them'. I said 'no, just sat 3 different parties.' At the time, the manger snapped aggressively at us and I said 'excuse me?' He told me not to interrupt her. We left. Worst customer service I have seen in a very long time. This is a prime example of why we continue to have a great divide in our country and why it will likely never heal. The hostess actually believed she did nothing wrong. I would not recommend this place to anybody. After being seated and placing our drink and food order, our waitress, Abby C, vanished. We did not see her again until we received our food and that is when she was loudly complaining to another waiter and the bartender about how severe the cramps from her period were and how she needed Midol but didn't have any. My 4 year old had to use the restroom and when we went there we noticed toilet paper coming out of the doors and into the restaurant. Inside the bathroom, the floor was covered in wet soggy toilet paper also. Totally disgusting! We got back to our table, my eldest child was showing her father a very long blonde hair that she found in her food under her chicken. When we finally found our waitress again she asked us what we wanted her to do about it. When she was that we wanted it made again she took it back to the kitchen. It took about 30 minutes for the new dish of food to come out. She told us that the hair did not match anybody in the kitchen and that it must have been my daughter's hair (my daughter has shoulder-length RED HAIR). As we were waiting for her new food, my husband went to the restroom. A man was leaving the restroom with very long blonde hair. When my husband came back to the table he observed the same man talking to the bartender and then enter the kitchen. When we reserved the bill we were charged for both the original meal as well as the remade meal for my daughter. We had to ask to have it removed and they did it after an argument. We still paid $96.67. We asked to speak to a manager and were told there were no managers on duty. Even after calling and speaking with someone they didn't even care! I would not recommend coming here. If I was able to give zero stars I would. read more

I think Applebee's is letting their locations run down. We've stopped in several Applebee's and they all seem to need maintenance and updating. Service was good. The tortilla soup wasn't very good, not bad, but not as good as the competitors. The tortilla soup was served cool. The potato soup was nice and hot. Sandwiches and wraps were ok. Several ceiling tiles need to be replaced because they are either water stained or dirty. Women's bathroom was not clean. So this place was just ok. There are better options nearby. read more

On busy nights the lines in front are kinda stupid though -- like waiting to get on a small ride at Carowinds, lol. There's a location-wide special where you can get two entrees and an appetizer for $20 plus a tip and the drink cost. Have about $30-35 if you plan bringing a date. Their bacon cheeseburger is alright (better than subpar for sure) and I love Applebee's boneless wings. This location skimps out on the french fries though, but I'll give them another chance. One star because my mother and I ate here and we saw Applebees originally we were going to Outback. Should've picked Outback!! The server was lost when it came to knowing how to work the iPad to ordering our food. Then I ordered an Classic Bacon Cheeseburger, she gave me a Classic Cheeseburger without the bacon. And don't get me started on their fries. The last straw for me was when the server brought the check out without a total. Like come on, what are we supposed to add it up ourselves. Ordered club sandwich, fries and sweet tea for carry out. Sandwich was phenomenal. Could not have been better. Loaded with meats and crisp lettuce, thick slice of tomato. My disappointment was I asked for 2 honey mustards but received 0. All the way back home and no honey mustard. When packaging the fries they should leave the container open like fast food restaurants do. The fries were closed up in a box. The moisture from the trapped heat makes them quite soggy and limp. All I had was 3 packs of ketchup to go with. Would have been more edible with some honey mustard. But again, sandwich was great! read more

Sorry service and disgusting food. I ordered the Creamy Parmesan Chicken. That is short for slop. The chicken was dry. There wasn't enough Parmesan sauce to fill a tablespoon. The cheese was cold and hard. The rice was minus the onion and mushrooms. There was two tablespoons of spinach cooked to mush. The server never came back to the table. I only got one glass of tea and all I could eat was the rubbery chicken. I left hungry and had to stop and buy something else to eat. I noticed others in the restaurant only ate the chicken like I did. They also looked very dissatisfied. We had to endure smokers while we were there. Wont be back. Eat at Bubba's instead. read more

Wow. The only redeeming factor from our dinner tonight was that our burgers were very good. The wait staff was inattentive, unresponsive, and very disinterested. One of our orders was wrong, and no one offered to correct it. Our waiter wanted to know, before we finished our burgers, if we were going to be ordering dessert because it was time for him to leave. There was litter on the floor. Wait staff had loud discussions over who would be taking an incoming party across our table, and dirty dishes had been left unbussed in the area where they were talking about sitting the newcomers.
