Service was wonderful from the host's greeting to our server, Jason. Everyone was kind and showed such great hospitality. Five stars!! The restaurant was clean and the bathrooms are well kept. Four stars! As for the food, it was okay. I feel it's true that you eat with your eyes first and, personally, I felt details were skipped over (the plate of wings had globs of sauce on the plate, my youngest's yogurt had a clear liquid lining the edges, my oldest's kids meal came with cubed pieces of chicken and my salad looked like it came from a bag of salad). We picked around with what we wanted to eat and pushed aside what we didn't but, to be honest, it was because of Jason's amazing and friendly service that we didn't make a big deal out of it. I feel Applebee's French Onion soup is great. I always order it in addition to my main entree. An additional favorite is the Chinese chicken salad; tasty, fresh and with the crispy chicken the textures are wonderful. Service is always good to excellent. Don't care for most of their meals but their hamburgers are very good, and their beer is the coldest I have ever had. Don't get the five chicken wings for a buck. I like Applebees. They really are the nighborhood quick fix for my tummy. So this review as in minus two stars is really just for their server and not their food. Their food remains excellent to me. I ordered the Fettucine Alfredo with Blackened Chicken and as usual it was up to my liking. The staff that worked there that day was really off maybe? Our server was very forgetful that day. She forgot to give us our utensils and did not even notice that we didn't have any until we told her. No water was offered. Little things really but it disappoints an Applebees regular like me. It's be a few years since I've been to an Applebee's, u can't expect 5 star food but I did expect our food to be better than it was. I ordered the crispy chicken Asian salad. Something I used to always get years back. It still tasted the same but the chicken was terrible. I couldn't eve put a fork into the pieces because they were as hard as a rock. Dried out pieces of breading. It was really really bad. Chips for the artichoke dip were stale and I didn't even bother to try anything else. Most of us didn't eat much. What a dump this place is. We walked in and there was no hostess. Another party walked in after us and a waiter finally shows up. We request a booth and he says ok hang on and walks away. He proceeded to an empty seating area, sits down and talks to a busser. At this time another party comes in. A hostess takes them and seats them then asked if wed been helped yet. We said no, can we please get a booth? She looked confused so I point to an empty booth and proceed to seat myself. We waited 15 minutes for someone to come to our table and get our drinks. Then they were out of salad. How in the hell is Applebees out of salad at 8 PM? I ordered a steak cooked medium and it came very well done. The entire experience was irritating. I have to bump these guys up to 4 stars. Okay, this is an Applebee's. They're a national chain. This isn't fine dining. But I've been a guest here many times now and I have to admit that overall, they're remarkably consistent with good food and good customer service. My most recent experience was lunch with my daughter. Again, the food was good. It came out fast and hot. And the customer service was very good. This is my second time ordering take out for meetings in the area. Both times I have ordered well in advance (24hours) and both times the orders have been late. The first time they were more than 45 minutes late preparing the food and the second time more than 20 minutes. Do not use them if you have a time limits. read more

...this applebee is the first place that I found to be pretty quiet and peaceful specially coming from an applebee...most applebee I been to is pretty alive and loud cause there were many things going on, like questionnaire where servers ask you questions for a contest or just having music playing... I like the theme of the place cause it brings me back to high school since most of the decorations are from Ukiah high school, which I didn't know they had a high school...the place is not too busy which is a good thing so the food service is pretty fast...the waiter was really friendly, he even complimented how nice my phone was...food is alright nothing special i don't mind going to this place again since its pretty much the only sit-in restaurant that is open late around that place other than Denny's...overall if you like a peaceful night then this is the place to be... My wife and I traveled from Hidden Valley Lake in Lake County to enjoy lunch at Applebees in Ukiah. What an utter disappointment! The service was terrible to say the least. Our food order was late and cold to Luke warm at best. Wishing to notify our server of our disenchantment. She seemed no where to be found. After another server went to find her, she finally came out of the kitchen area and I told her that our food was cold and would she please take the entire order back to the kitchen and warm it up. While waiting for her to retrieve the food, she stopped at another table to take their food order!. Meanwhile, I guess it was the manager that came over to us without introducing himself and asked what's the problem? We told him that our food was by then cold and he asked which items were cold? No apology was given. We simply got up and left the restaurant. This happened at approximately 11:30AM on Monday, January 8th, 2024. Won't be back. Ever! read more

We wanted a cheap, decent meal and Applebee's was it. The wait wasn't bad, but we weren't really keeping track of time. Free WiFi was nice, especially as someone traveling through with limited cell service. I had a burger that I thought had pineapple, but I'm not sure it did. Either way it tasted decent. Like others say, this is an Applebee's, not fine dining. That all said, the family and I were on a vacation and stopped in town for the night. We settled on this spot, stumbling distance from our hotel, and weren't disappointed. Everything we ordered came as expected; what really set the place apart was the service. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant dinner, and once one of the kids spilled something immediately remedied and replaced. Apparently LILY that works here is pro animal abuse. The food was fantastic - the hostess named Lily that works here and condones animal abuse could be done without. Let's set the scene - 96 degrees outside in the lovely town of Ukiah. We pull into the parking lot and see a ratty Dodge truck parked in DIRECT sun with a long coat German Shepard god tied in the back. No shade. No water. Panting and lethargic. Come inside, immediately tell the hostess Lily that there is a dog outside in distress. She says 'yeah some people have told us that'. We asked Lily what the restraint was going to do, had the police been called and she just gave us a blank stare and ignored us while taking the couple ahead of us to their seats. We sat at the bar and I WATCHED Lily walk up to a table that appeared to be her friends and let them know that we had called animal control. The woman who owned the dog seated at the table proceeded to confront my friend and I at the bar, stating 'my dog has 2 jugs of water with her'. Uummmm the jugs of water are sealed. Does your dog have thumbs?! If not, the dog most likely would struggle with pouring itself some water. Once Lily alerted the couple with their infant that the police had been called the hurried out to beat the police. Lily made sure to hug them on their way out the door. For the rest of our meal Lily proceeded to glare at us and gossip to other employees that we were concerned about the dog. My bad, animals shouldn't cook to death in the bed of some idiots truck. If you were anything of a decent person Lily, you would have alerted your manager right away and animal control would have already been on the scene but heaven forbid you worry about animals instead of your idiot friends. We were on our way back home from a nice vacation crabbing in the southern Oregon coast in our RV. Decided to stop in Ukiah to fill up on gas at the Costco. Hungry for lunch we saw an Applebee's nearby as I haven't been there in years. It was around 1 pm on a Saturday. Walked in the front and waited a few minutes, no one around to seat us. Just noticed some older guys sitting at the bar drinking already. Looks like a couple of employees walking out of the kitchen but disappeared somewhere. We watched the Giants game while watching the Dodger game in an airconditioned restaurant. Waitress and staff were friendly. Overall good experience. Will be back on game day again.
