on 5/28/2026 we decided to go to dinner at Applebee, our server Adam was amazing he was courteous and very respectful towards my 4 year old granddaughter. I'm an Army Veteran and I've never had such great service by a young man as I did tonigh. The bartender Cole was also amazing he was singing along to the songs that my daughter put on for the 4 year old. This was the most memorable and most interactive service I've had. We went in to celebrate Veteran's Day for my family. Our server took our order for our drinks promptly and we saw where at times she was overwhelmed with the crowd. But, that's where our meal started getting bad. We ordered our appetizer and then our meal came out after waiting for about 30 minutes. When we got our meal, we weren't given any silverware. We told another server we didn't get our appetizer and she said she would talk to our server and get our silverware. After a 10 minute wait for yet another server to bring us out silverware and napkins. While we were waiting, we noticed our food came out barely warm and overcooked. On my plate, I was supposed to get coleslaw and it was a scant 2 tablespoons. When we were finally able to ear, the coleslaw was hot, not cold. My husband's chicken was overcooked as well as my shrimp. Our server didn't even check on us until one caught her attention. We told her about missing our appetizer and she barely apologized and wanted to put the order in to take home. We all agreed after this unimpressive meal to skip it. She hurriedly gave us our check with still no apology. We paid and left most of our meals uneaten. We had to go somewhere else to get something edible. I've been going to Applebees and ordering the same thing for years. When I travel, it's an easy fall-back to comfort food because I know it tastes good and I won't have to think about the menu much. This is my first time at this location. Seating was readily available, although the restaurant was definitely hopping. Servers seemed fairly attentive - although, I sat at the bar and was well-attended-to by the bartender. Ordered the same thing as always -- Oriental Salad with Grilled Chicken and delivery time was reasonably quick. Unfortunately, the dressing had too much salt -- so the sweet/savory Oriental dressing wasn't well balanced. Since the dressing is entirely covering the salad it took me a while to ascertain -- was it the dressing, or the chicken. But, isn't the end, I concluded it was the dressing. I have to assume this recipe is standardized - since this is a franchise. It may actually come pre-made...and if so, then that means the salt was coming from somewhere else. Regardless, it didn't taste as good as I had remembered and my 3-star rating reflects the situation. If it had tasted less salty, I would have provided a 4th star as all other variables were "as expected". read more

I understand that keeping restaurants staffed lately has been very difficult, but wow... We are in Wichita for the weekend for a soccer tournament and our options were limited for dinner on Saturday evening. We found an Applebee's close to the airport and managed to arrive around 10:30 pm. The restaurant closes at midnight and they were not busy at all. We stood at the front for about 10 minutes before anybody bothered to acknowledge us. We waited for another 15 minutes before the host came back and took our drink and appetizer order. We were told that our server was "busy" (even though we could see him talking to one table, leave, and chat with someone else that worked there) and would be taken care of shortly. We sat for another 15 minutes before the same host approached us again and had to find our server just to order our food. By the time we finally received our drinks and appetizers, we lost our appetites. We waited again just to get someone's attention so we could get our check. I get that it can be annoying when people come in close to closing time, but we sat near the bar and watched guests who arrived after us receive far better service than we ever had. This was the most ridiculous and frustrating experience I have ever had at a restaurant. read more

Our waitress was very sweet and friendly. I had 3 of their $1 Zombie promotional drinks and it was amazingly good. Definitely worth that $1. My husband and I did the dinner for 2 for $25. We go both got the mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken strips. It was really good. Our appetizer was the spinach and artichoke dip. Our kids chowed down in the chips and salsa. We let our two youngest kids split the cheese pizza kids meal. We added an extra side kick for only .99. They got the strawberries and yogurt. They raced about it. Our oldest got the Mac and cheese with strawberries and yogurt. She loved her meal too. Kids meals are reasonably priced as well at 1.99. Our kids drank water with their meals. The selection of half priced appetizers is misleading sometimes. We ordered boneless chicken wings, then I saw a brisket quesadilla, so I ordered it. Oops! Turns out it wasn't half priced. Too late, I saw the card with the list. I already ate it, it was good, so I'm not gonna complain. The atmosphere was fun, if a little worn around the edges. People must have had a long day. I only give this restaurant one star because there is not an option for zero. Our visit included many of the same issues that others listed...unfortunately we did not read the reviews first. We had to ask to get drink service, to place our food order, to get silverware and napkins and plates for the appetizers. The food was horrible. I sent back my French dip because the aujus was cold and the bread was brick hard stale. My wife's wonton tacos were also stale and smothered in their syrup making them nearly inedible. Our son's pasta had almost no sauce. We never saw drink refills until we asked and they showed up only after we asked a second time. We also sent back the silverware because it was not clean with food remnants from the previous customers. The server looked like he just crawled out of bed and smelled nearly the same. Absolutely an unbelievable experience that appears to be the norm. It is unfortunate that there are so many similar reviews without any resolutions. My friend and I came to the Maple and Ridge location, for lunch on May 30th, 2023. A few tables down from us, a manager, or appeared to be, went up to a table of two young ladies. A confrontation went on with one of the young ladies. The manager was rude, and we overheard one of the young lady being FIRED -on the spot. This 'employee' was there on her own time, and was NOT brought back to the office, or a private area. I find this very unprofessional, rude and NOT what we want to see, and overhear a manager spouting off to this 'employee' in question. The entire issue was very distasteful. would treat the employees there, This unprofessionalism is not what we cared to see. We Will not be going back--ever. I have also heard rumors of drug use by the employees, and have been overheard 'bragging' of drug use at this location. I suggest a deep look into this matter. The entire company has much to lose if all conversations are to come to light. read more

Mgr behind the bar actually put hand inside scooner to make drink then used tings to pick up lime, servers grabbing glasses by the rims of peoples drinks, tall gentleman with very bushy black hair scratched his scalp then grabbed plates from a runner to put in his table. Bartender had fake nails and rings all over her hands touching dirty plates, push trash down in the can, grabbed fruit from inside dirty cups, then rinsed her hands less then 30 sec without taking the jewelry off. Managemt was standing there and did nothing. Host- told us and two other couples 20 min wait and sat all of us within 5 minutes. Clearly no one running the floor or the flow for the kitchen. Ordered online and that sent it to us through Doordash. When we got it, the food was cold, all the french fries were missing from every order, and one of the burgers was made wrong. When I called the restraunt, they tried to make it sound like the driver's fault that the cooks messed up our food order, and wanted the driver to come out and fix their mistake for FREE, and wouldn't refund anything because "payment was made through Doordash". This Applebee's location needs flooring update BAD. It's very dirty in there leaving one to question what else may be sub par. I had the oriental chicken wrap, which the first half was good but the 2nd was over crispy. My granddaughter had the steak which was lacking seasoning. She asked for it well done and half was medium. The mashed potatoes were cold, broccoli prepared well. My husband had the bourbon chicken and shrimp and he said it was ok. The place got busy with a large party sitting near us. The server would bring their drinks in an above average voice saying WATER, who had TEA, etc. I guess overall dining experience is almost like a cross between a diner and fast food. read more
